There probably afraid of another backlash similar to derpy and will be wary of releasing DJ pwns or Scootaloo episodes.
Cause people were afraidsz of it.
Well, think of it this way. We've seen applejack's parents, rarity's parents, twilight's parents, even pinkie's parents, but none of fluttershy or Rainbow dash.
Why is this? Well, RD and Fluttershy and such are raised institutionally, in clouds ville, parentlessly, in a large group communal effort for children. Everyone goes to flight academy and learns to fly but they have no parents, no immediate relations, and no immediate family of any kind- they are state raised.
That's actually really interesting. x3 But this could all also just be an example of unfinished writing. With shows like these, I suspect backstories are always sort of works in progress as the show goes on. Perhaps they just haven't come up with character designs for Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy's folks, yet.
I always saw that flight camp as literally being a camp. Just something that all Pegasus parents sent their young ones as a sort of coming of age rite of passage. I suspect mention of Fluttershy's and Rainbow Dash's parents will come up eventually. But if that doesn't happen, I actually find this whole concept of all Pegasus ponies being institutionally raised to be really fascinating. Another different way of life.
