Okay, she tried her hardest with that last swing. And that was still pretty weak. And to top it all off, she missed. Completely. It was definitely time for her to back off and recover a bit.

Odette did 0 damage.

Quick li'l note here: The half-hourly posts will stop tonight at 3:40 AM EST, giving you enough time for three more attacks if you're hasty. They'll resume with the new round tomorrow afternoon.
The primary posts however, the ones directly responding to this one, can continue if you haven't replied to it yet, for those who wake up in the morning and see this here. Just one per person, remember.

HP: 975/1100

They were off-guard, dazed. Now, more than ever, was his chance to get up-close and personal. Aendal crouched slightly, and took off like a track runner, though without any of the grace. He heavily favored his left leg, looked rather awkward every time he put his weight on his right, like the muscles weren't as strong or as intact.

But his stance was irrelevant, the important part was that he was still moving quick enough to be very dangerous to the trolls who'd lost focus from the plants' effects. And he was swinging his machete rather heavily at the trolls he passed, hacking at them like stubborn vines blocking an otherwise perfectly nice pathway.

The dodge rolls go like this:

If you roll a 1, you're apparently still coasting back down from that high, and take the brunt of his attack. I know you're in that adolescent experimental stage, but c'mon, there's a job to be done. Take four damage and gain a life lesson.

If you roll a 2, you're luckier than the former group, as he doesn't put his all into this particular attack. Take three damage, ez-pz.

If you roll a 3, you manage to fight off the effects of whatever you're on for long enough to slightly deflect his blow and counter-attack. You take two damage, but deal an extra two damage, in addition to whatever you roll.

If you roll a 4, you're the one who catches him off-guard. You almost totally parry his attack, taking a mere one damage.

If you roll a 5 or a 6, he simply doesn't pursue you. He can't run around smacking everyone after all. You obviously take no damage.

Backing off was definitely a good idea, now that Aendal was going on the offensive. Odette couldn't stay back forever, though! The others were taking some serious damage, and she couldn't just stand there and watch them get diced to bits! She took note of the jadeblood's movements, noticing that he clearly favored one leg over the other. As soon as she regained her composure, she jumped back into battle, swinging clumsily at Aendal's left leg. His other leg was already injured, so she figured if she attacked the good leg she might do enough damage to injure it just as badly as the right, which might make it even more difficult for him to move about. That could work, right?

Odette did 2 damage.

Odette struggled to keep up with the more agile adult troll. Slowing him down would require one of the dirtier tactics that Odette had hidden up her sleeve. She wasn't fond of using said tactics, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. She reached out her glaive as far as she possibly could and hooked Aendal's right leg with the blunt inner curve of the blade, and pulled hard, trying to trip the adult off of his feet.

woah snap critz!!!!

Aendal's weak point is his right leg, peeps, take notes. Hitting him there will deal double damage.

Odette dealt 4 damage.

Tripping the jadeblood did more damage than Odette expected. She went to attempt the same maneuver again, but this time he was already out of her reach. Curse these short limbs! she brooded angrily.

Vremea was trembling— she really did not like fire. She analyzed the jadeblood, looking for any weakness, any falter, any blind spot. She wanted him to feel what she was feeling– her weakness was found, she was going to find his. Scanning him thoroughly, she saw he relied more on his left leg– something must've happened to his right leg, then? Before she could get a hit in, though, he ran at her and gave her a deep gash on her left arm. Wincing and letting out a yelp, the injured yellow blood quickly took advantage of the situation. Ducking, she slashed at his right leg with one swift stroke.

Vremea did 10 damage.

"Can't take us all on, you said! Be the least wisest choice, you said!" A troll blathered on. It was the same guy that Janzek had first been on guard duty with. Never did catch his name, "You're the worst peacekeeper ever!"

"HUH-HOWWASSSSI SSSSUPPOSSSEDTOKNOW HEHAD GENETICAL-LULL-LY MODIFFFFIED'IS PLANTSSS?!" Janzek stammered back, pressing even further into the sand dune, half tempted by the idea to just dig a hole in it and wait for this whole mess to end.

That option wasn't really an option anymore though. The ticking had started. A slow beat at first that only grew louder and more hurried to where it was practically a fiercely beaten drum in the back of his head. Just when his brain felt like it was about to implode, the Jade Blood had veered into his sights. His stance was sloppy, his movements while practiced and light, still seemed sluggish; off-balanced. One leg being certain to move faster than the other. It was an easy for the former medic to tell that there was something wrong with the Jade Blood's leg.

Unfortunately, Janzek wasn't much in a position to take advantage of it, as his guard buddy scrambled away, kicking up sand everywhere and nearly knocking Janzek off balance. Before he knew it, the Jade Blood was lunging at him. They traded blows, Janzek falling back into the sand dune with a grunt. Before he could get back to his feet, the Jade Blood was already off chasing down someone else.

Upon quick inspection, he found that the wound wasn't particularly deep or lethal. Another bruised added to the tally. That actually annoyed him. The drum of war was beating relentlessly now and Janzek would not take being considered anything less than mostly harmless.

Janzek dealt 5 (x2) damage

Whatever had been in those spores, it wasn't good but Athene managed to calm herself down long enough to feel like she wasn't in any danger of inhailing anymore. Unfortunatly, the jadeblood decided to come after her, which was of course, fantastic. Biting back a yelp as he hit her, she dove down under his weapon, kicking him in the legs and lashing out with her garrote, causing a cut on his right. It wasn't exactly fair, but at this point, Athene could care less. A full grown troll had come after her, after all! That was terrifying enough in its own right!

Inspecting the cut she had gained on her arm, she winced. Lovely, more blood staining her clothing.

Athene did 4(6?8?) damage!

Weak point: Right leg

HP: 928/1100

A rather strange aroma filled the air as Aendal struck out at the trolls surrounding him. Not altogether unpleasant, but like nothing else they'd smelled in the desert so far. It wasn't even spectacularly noticeable, in fact it was downright mild and unoffensive. But it was strong enough to be smelled by the ones he wanted to smell it.

Chemical signatures had been produced by the plants, sending out a panic signal, calling every dangerous creepy-crawly nearby. Spiders, scorpions, hornets, centipedes, none of them smaller than a pomeranian, came by the hordes over the plant wall surrounding them. Moving and attacking almost as one, they instantly had the trolls surrounded, moving in to attack while Aendal put a bit of distance between himself and the trolls that had been tearing at his leg.

The dodge rolls go like this:

If you rolled a 1, you're mobbed be the worst creepy-but-nonlethal fauna the desert has to offer. You try to shake them off, but they just cling tighter, biting and stinging away. Take three damage, and lower your dodge roll by one next turn.

If you rolled a 2, you try to kick at the bugs as they approach you, which just ends with them clinging to your feet and chomping away at your ankles. Take three damage(and maybe invest in some boots next time[if you already have boots, they bite through them, wiseguy]).

If you rolled a 3, while you're distracted by the scorpions approaching from the front, the spiders from behind catch you unaware. Take two damage.

If you rolled a 4, the hornets make a BEE-line towards you. Their thin, fragile bodies make them easy enough to kill, but they still sting something fierce, making you mad as a HORNET. Take two damage but add one to all your damage rolls for the rest of the round.

If you rolled a 5, you do a fairly decent job at stomping all the critters that come your way, but there's strength in numbers, and a few get by. Take one damage.

If you rolled a 6, you vigilantly crush everything even remotely crushable that comes your way, and wired on whatever the troll equivalent of adrenaline is, you add three extra damage onto each of your rolls for the rest of this round.

Next round at: 6pm EST

HP: 28/40

Chasing down after the Jade Blood, Janzek reached into the inner pocket of his jacket to produce the one single thing he was allowed to keep with him since his fall in the eyes of society. After all, no troll could go without a weapon of some sort. A crystal hourglass with a mahogany tinted steel frame was clutched tightly in his hand. A single peg jutted out from one of the sections and ran through the length of the glass, keeping the fine grains of gold tinted dust from transferring from one end to the other. Pulling out the peg, an eerie green light enveloped and grew until the shape silhouetted a long 6' rod with a curved, steel blade attachment at one end. At the other, connected by a three foot length of chain, was the hourglass now the size of a lantern and as heavy as a mace.

With weapon at the ready, Janzek was poised to re-engage battle with the Jade Blood, but his senses and priorities were quickly deterred by an oncoming swarm of various insects and arachnids. For whatever reason, it was the bees that decided to pose as his immediate foe. While his scythe proved little use against the nimble buzzing fliers, with several sweeping arcs of the mace end, he managed to swat enough down to clear a path towards the Jade Blood.

Janzek dealt 4 (x2) damage!

Creepy-crawlies could not faze Odette. She lived in the polluted basement of a temporary fee-regulated hive accommodation. She'd dealt with creepy-crawlies before. So what if these were bigger? And more likely to have a deadly venom? That didn't matter to Odette. Her battle was with this jadeblood, and now that she had pinpointed his weak spot, she was not letting her attention be averted by these beasts. She took another swing at the jadeblood's right leg, aiming to do some good damage to his weak spot. All she wanted this fight to end as soon as possible.

Odette dealt 16 damage. (HOW??)
