000000Maka "Noctis" Oblivion
User Image
"Life's a drag, your a nuisance, just another day in life."

Maka sighed. He knew that he had been spotted, as he had been also looking at the mirror when Xen was. Now that he had been spotted, getting the information would be even harder to extract. There was little he could steal that couldn't be taken back, and fighting against another rune user. Little could be done to gather information, unless... Unless that man did not know that he was the one who stole the wallet and papers.

Maka had another advantage, but could end as a double edged blade. The crystal that he had in his hand (the one that he had stolen, of course.) was supposed to stop magic (as mentioned earlier.). It was a risk, and a last resort if things went south. Maka slowly reached for his rune sword, tapped one of the two charms that were attached, and watched the magic happen, literally.

A blinding light emitted from every glass and crystal based object in the room (all the windows, glass objects, and mirrors.), and was increased when it reflected off of the many other shiny objects in the room. Using the moment to his advantage, Maka dashed towards the table, and made one of the greatest mistakes in his life. The crystal he was holding was nothing more then jewlery, and he had severely underestimated his target's strength. Little did he know that the only advantage he really had was that of surprise, but even then the chances of survival were as low as the possibility of surviving a slashed throat that was poisoned with mercury that was mixed in with supposed Hydra blood: 1/4 in a 1,000,000,000.

And so, little did he know, he was totally screwed.

Akakios An Gaurdious Burnstein
User Image
Akakios brought a hand forward as the pub filled with immense light, concentrating on the hairs on the back of his hand as he saw a few quick movements. His voice calling out in quick recall seeing a blur of pink hair being forced in an opposing direction. His chair toppling over as he stood, his vision following to one with a blur of grey hair and Eve. He took a step forward, his hand shielding over his eyes as he attempted to make out the trouble. And before much could be said in dismay by him or other annoyed civilians, the light had faded as quickly as it came.

Akakios blinked wildly as his vision regained, his stance swinging wildly while he looked about the bar. Bringing a hand to his head in dismay as he shook his head. His hands falling loudly on the table as he looked to Xen, a bitter cold mix of anger and worry in his eyes as his eyes reached his. "Dear wise friend, would you have allowed me the ease of having found slight advantage in our brightest bout of blindness?"

"There are those who seek to change their lives..."

Ainia sighed, pulling the hood on her cloak above her head as she neared the town gates. For the past hour or so, the walls of Vanguard had slowly grown larger, letting her know that she had almost reached her destination. As she drew closer she could make out two figures standing guard, the sight drawing a heavy sigh from her.

"Of course. A girl can never get a break, can she?" Ainia quieted her mutterings as she neared the guards, her eyes scanning over them both. "Oh, thank god, they're both male. No helmets, either. Maybe this will be easier than I thought."

With her hood securely positioned to cover her face, she stopped in front of the two men, a small smirk beginning to pull at her lips.

"Papers, please." The man on the left droned, obviously not too excited about his job. "Admittance to the city will not be granted unless the proper papers are shown."

"I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten mine." Ainia's smirk grew as she spoke, and she let her cloak fall open, showing off her rather revealing dancing attire. The men's eyes immediately dropped, and she had to refrain herself from hitting them as they looked her over. "Perhaps I can make it up to you?"

"I'm sorry, Miss. No papers, no--" The man who had spoken before was suddenly cut off by his fellow guard elbowing him, much to Ainia's amusement.

"Please, forgive my friend. We’ve been out here in the heat all day; I think the sun has gotten to him. After all, I know he wouldn’t refuse a little entertainment from a beautiful lady if he was in his right mind." The man on the right spoke this time, his eyes fixed on Ainia's body.

"Way too easy..." The thought flashed through her mind, and she began to put her plan in motion.

Ainia walked up to the man on the left, swaying her hips slightly. When she was directly in front of him she began to dance, turning slowly in front of him, her body swaying to some unheard music. Despite his earlier protests, the man watched her silently as her hips moved back and forth, her hands dancing in the air above her head. She pressed against him as she danced, her arms slipping around his neck, her hands tangling in his hair. After a minute or two she suddenly spun away from him, shimmying over to his companion and giving him the same treatment.

Taking another moment to make sure that they were both captivated by the performance, Ainia slowly danced behind them, her hands darting out like lightning as soon as she was out of their direct line of sight. In the blink of an eye her fingers had sent two harsh jabs to the soft spots on the back of both men’s necks, instantly knocking both of them unconscious. She yawned as their bodies fell to the ground, and turned to walk into the city, her cloak pulled tightly around her body once again.

“Typical. They fall for it every time.” Ainia stepped through the gate, muttering to herself again. She suddenly froze, her eyes falling on a small child standing in the middle of the road that was currently staring up at her with wide eyes. "Dear god, I really can't get a break."

"Are you an angel?" The child asked abruptly, breaking her from her thoughts. "You look like an angel. My mommy says that angels watch over us. Why did you kill those big guys?"

"Well, you see..." Ainia knelt down in front of the small boy, reaching out to put a hand on his shoulder. "They're only sleeping, not dead. They were very tired, so I did a little spell to put them to sleep. You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone about this, okay? If people knew, then they would try to steal my magic."

The boy stared up at her in awe, slowly nodding his head in understanding before running off. Ainia sighed and stood up, an expression of annoyance on her face. With a shake of her head, she continued farther into the city, trying to put as much distance between herself and the unconscious guards as possible.

xd . That's not really what I meant either... the whole point of the six at the beginning is that they're basically even in over all combat capability, even if they've different strengths. He'd have much better odds then that. rofl But we'll work with it.

emotion_yatta On a happier note, welcome to the RP Alyn. Great first post. Those guards at the eastern gate are really having a bad day between Ainia and Belluis. xd

Xenon jumped in shock as the blinding light filled the room, his hand gripping tightly to his staff while his free hand rose, his mouth forming words as, though they were hidden amids the light, runes began to ciculate around his fingers. "Oh darkness which hides beyond the day, come now, this impenitrable veil, clear awa-" but his chanting was cut short as he felt a sudden impact amidst the encompassing light, his eyes squinting as best they could, only to zero in on the source, his eyes widening in shock behind his glasses. A Magicians Seal!? Impossible! Was this person that well backed? Sealing orbs were worth many times their weight in gold, and only available from old ruins, any means to manufacture them lost with time.

This person might not know the value of what they had, but they certainly knew how to use it. As the Spell locked within the orb was released, Xenon was completely unguarded, the suddenly oppression of having his mana sealed within in own body, unable to interact with the surrounding world to channel spells or even manifest in more simple spells under it's own power. Though he knew the effect to be temporary, for the time being he was helpless...

Eve's reaction at the flash of light, was the same it had been earlier that day during the course of the picktpocketing. At the presence of foreign mana in the air around her, the girl whipped about seizing her mace at her side as she swung on pure instinct at the oncoming presence within the light, hearing the impact of something hit Xenon beside her. Her ferocity merely increased at the thought of this, brief though it was in the moment of her swing, the runes on the the rim of her mace glowing mid attack. Though Eve was much a creature of a instinct, and could not at all accurately aim in her temporary blindness, her senses were enough that she was aiming in the right direction, her blow heading straight for their assailants chest...

000000Maka "Noctis" Oblivion
User Image
"Life's a drag, your a nuisance, just another day in life."

Had Maka not been the person he was today, with the training he had all these years, he would probably have been ripped in half by that blow. But lucky for him, he happened to have his sword in his hand just in front of his chest, causing it to absorb a bit of the blow. But it still hurt like hell, and he still went flying through the many tables and into the wall behind him.

He slid down, landing in a sitting position. He cursed at lady luck and picked his sorry a$$ off the ground. The blow winded him, and it was easily apparent as he stumbled as he tried to balance on his two feet. He put his hand on the wall behind him, but almost instantly removed it when he heard the crack in the foundation, signaling that the wall was coming down. And it did, right on top of him.

Barely avoiding that too, he dashed forwards and attempted to gets some blows in before he got the late sign that usually meant that he should bail out of there. Maka drew his sword, jumped onto the table, and dove with a jab straight for Xen`s heart. An unusual move for him, considering his woozy state, but it was really to regain his mental balance and to fix that gap in distance that the lack of air had created.

Xen's magic sealed, it was all he could do but bring his staff up to parry the blow, rolling the force of it off center and avoiding a hit from the blade, but it was an enhancer he was dealing with, and merely the force of the impact from the older boy's momentum was enough to send him back into the bar, hard. He hit his head and felt a sudden sharp pain as his vision blurred his fingers loosening as he dropped his staff, and fell limp, eyes closed. He made a consolation to himself that when this seal wore off...he and this man were going to have...words... he lost consciousness.

"Xen!" Eve's eyes widened for but a moment, seeing that the boy was still breathing, before the girl's normally innocent face shifted to one of fiery anger. "AHHH!" An overhead blow from the mace narrowly missed their attackers head as, now in blind rage, the normally chivalrous girl seemed to have a strange grim determination in her eyes, even if behind it was confusion. Why hadn't Xen used his magic? And even without using it, his mana generally made Xen a little more durable then a normal person, a tad more agile at evading at the least...it was almost like...

But she didn't have time to reason through that now. The runes along her mace were still glowing white hot as she reared back for a more focused attack, the blinding light having faded, and the female warriors shield now also in hand from where it normally rested behind her back. She moved to attempt to block Xen even as her disproportional strength aimed her blow, but she was not quite as fast as this stranger in black...

(You can take Xen now at your discretion. Also now that we've had a brief exchange, I'm definitely going to give Tori time to react. So I'll be getting off for now.)

It was obvious that that girl's attacks were getting stronger and more destructive. Capturing her was way too close to impossible. But that other guy, her boyfriend maybe? He was left unconscious, laying on the wall, the perfect bait. If he could survive the flurry of attacks that would probably come, then he would take him and use him as bait to gather info. And so, that would mean probable improvisation as to getting this all strung together.

Maka had a disadvantage in the terms of strength, but could easily read and dodge such heavy and destructive attacks. Using his speed to his advantage, and the momentum he got from being launched when Eve had attempted the overhead blow on the table, he managed to land onto the rafters just above Eve, and immediately began to jump from rafter to rafter until he was directly above Xen. In a swift motion, he jumped down, landing without leaving the smallest of sound.

"Eh! I'm going to borrow your boyfriend for a while. You can have him back if you calm yourself down and meet me by the large fountain tomorrow, before dusk!" He called out. And to make things a little worse, he added: "And Eve, work on your aim too!" He called out before grabbing Xen and leaping out the giant hole in the wall, only to come back moments later and steal two mugs and a random bottle of alcohol, then leaping back out again.

Maka had never really been one for kidnapping and/or interrogation, that was more one of Skeith's many skills. And because of that one thought, he suddenly started thinking of everything that had led up to this point, causing him to forget to hide his mana trail.

Everything had happened so fast Akakios didn't have much time to respond. His hand raising to shield himself from a light that seemed to blind the room. His vision turning as he heard a tussle from the two that sat near him. Standing quickly up as his stool was heard clattering upon the weak wood below. Looking around the bar, the light fading, his hands cupping around as he called out. "Eve! Xen!"

His eyes turned as she saw Eve's mace nearly come intact with his chest, the sword causing some blockage. His eyes squinting as he saw him thrown back. Stepping forward as he put a hand to Eve's shoulder and continued to look at the man who picked himself up. A smile on Akakios's face as a chuckle escaped his lips, his eyes reaching to Eve's as he gave a small nod of approval.

Stepping away from Eve as he saw the man attempt his attack again, watching as the man began an erratic attack straight for....Xenon's heart?!

He began to take a step forward, only for these magically talented users to once again fend him off, his eyebrows raising in high surprise.

Akakios couldn't quite recall the next few events, if there were any, it was all so strange, becoming as much of a blur as his last night in the kingdom of Burnstein. All that is truly recalled is an unconscious Xen as the man slipped out of the bar. Akakios spinning back around as he saw the crowd huddled to one wall in fear of what had happened.

Looking to Eve with a strong demeanor that still remained from the fight, it may take her a moment to fall into shambles from her troubled friend, unless she was one to push forward. Either way he had a few seconds to spare, his arms raised high in innocence as he walked to the crowd. His mouth opening to speak as he felt a hand on his shoulder. The bar tender's voice calling over the chattering crowd. "The problem has been dealt with, all of my sincerest apologies and a free round of drinks to make up for the troubles."

And as if someone snapped their fingers and said. "Everything's fixed!' They rose their glasses and voices in cheer, lining up along the bar to fill their drinks with merriment. His vision turning back as his arms fell to his side, walking slowly up to Eve as his voice called out lightly to her. "Dearest maiden of Seirun, what is it you propose we do?"

Eve was frozen to the spot for a moment, her eyes slightly wide. It was as though, for that moment...her soul was elsewhere.

It felt like someone had driven cold dagger into her mind.

'Secondus...weak...pathetic...failure...again my keeper suffers...because of you.'

The voice seemed a whisper in her mind, a shadow of a past she wished that she could fully forget. On the floor, the staff of Xenon Zurander gave an almost untraceable shudder, before the object fell still. Eve's mind seemed to snap back to the moment, a sudden iron will returning to her eyes.

What had she just been...? But she drew herself back to the matter at hand, Akakios's words rousing her from thought. "I...I couldn't protect him...again..." she clenched her teeth slightly. Every time she'd needed her friends help, he'd been there for her...even to save her from a life cloistered away as a priestess of Portrine...back then when her father had been. Yet whenever he needed her help...it seemed she always let him down. The only time she'd ever truly come through forn him was when she stood up for him back in Seirun...but...she'd been leaving just as much for herself as she was for her friend. Could that really count?

And now she couldn't even protect him from one rogue enhancer?!

Was all her training for nothing? Had she really wasted all these years? In her self deprivation her eyes fell on a small orb on the floor, the girl looking slightly surprised for a moment. Had Xen dropped this...? She bent down to pick it up, trying to make out the rune carved into it's depths. She was never that great at reading ancient runes...it was one reason why she wasn't cut out for sorcerery...but...

"Restrict...?" she made out.

"That there's "Seal" little lady." The bartender said with a smile, despite having his hands full rounding up the drinks. "Me cousins a magician." he said with a shrug.

Eve laughed awkwardly, a little embarrassed that even after all her years of forced training she still had problems recognizing basic runes. She cleared her throat, falling back to business. "This must have been why Xen was so defenseless..." she suddenly clenched the rock into her fist, her teeth grating slightly. "But even if that was the case...I should have been able to..." her eyes took on fiery conviction once more. "Mister Akakios...I thank you for your offer of help but..." she faced the hole in the wall. "I don't want to burden you with my weakness, I'll handle this myself!!" S she took off on foot, her shield and mace in hand as she tried to lock down on the man's residual presence, the imprint he left in the mana around him. She wasn't very skilled with the finesse aspects of mana manipulation, but her instincts were another matter. Like a hound now on the hunt, the girl rushed after her quarry, paying no heed to the staff that was still lying on the ground where Xenon had dropped it...

( emotion_yatta You can follow her anyway of course, that's just her knight in shining armor complex talking. To her, keep in mind, Akakios is the societal equivalent of dainty blonde blue eyed princess. xd For that matter, Maka I suppose would be the socital equivalent of a femme fatale assasin like girl. Eve herself being the equivalent of brave and noble knight, of course. rofl Ahh, I have too much fun with her warped view of the world. Also please don't pick up the staff. wink That's setting up a future plot point.)

Akakios listened to her words of defeat, shaking his head as he wished for words to form, offer words of comfort. He remained silent as he saw anger boiling under her eyes, watching her as she inspected the rune. Akakios jumping at the casual conversation of the bartender.

Akakios's face of concern only growing wider as she awkwardly chuckled at herself. He put a hand on her shoulder as he heard her insinuate she should have been able to protect him. Shaking his head as he looked at her, his mouth opening to offer words of nothing she could do, and it was time to press onward. But, as these words were to leave his mouth she spoke that she needed no help and was rushing out of the bar.

He quickly followed behind, following in quick stride beside her. A smile on his face as his voice carried to her ears. "Fair lady of Seirun, how truly far beyond your walls you are, within the few time I have known you both I feel as if I owe my duties to you both."

His gaze turned in front of them, watching the town that had no idea of the scene that lied within the bar only moments ago.A small moment of silence as Akakios sorted through many thoughts, and then his hand falling upon Eve's shoulder once again. "We shouldn't follow so quickly, dearest maiden, we find ourselves in foolish haste."

His head turned to her, hoping she would turn her head and see a sincere plead in his eyes that carried through his speech.

Eve stopped at Akakios's plea, her face full of conflict. "But if we let him get away there's no guarantee that we'll get Xen back safe! I can't-"

"Of COURSE you can't...has there even been a time when you COULD protect anyone!!?"

Eve's eyes suddenly widened slightly, innocent shock taking hold on her face as she looked around for the source of the voice. That voice was familiar to her...but...there was no way...

From the parting the crowd outside who had gathered to stare at the sudden hole in the wall, emerged a figure in black armor, her face twisted into an unmistakable loathing.

NPC (Inspector) Alouette Prier~

"Alouette?" Eve seemed surprised, though not nearly as angered by the news as the girl herself. "What...what are you doing here?"

The blonde haired dark knight merely continued to level a glare at the older girl, her gauntleted hand apparently preparing to reach for the pole arm wrapped securely behind her back, but something seemed to be preventing her. "You're pathetic..." Alouette scorned with a clear venom to her words. "You never protected him from mother, so why would you think that you could start now?!"

Eve seemed stricken by her sister's words, but more affected by confusion at both her presence, and the clear wrath in the girl's air. "I..."

But the black armored girl turned round, looking back sidelong. "Tcht...I'll deal with you later...a coward like you won't put up much of a fight anyway. I'll go save Xenon myself, then maybe he'll finally see..." the girl clenched her fist. "How utterly useless you are." And how could he not?! Alouette's face seemed to become more solemn. She'd been shocked to learn that Xenon had returned...and a sorcerer, of all things. The kind serving boy she recalled from her youth...a criminal...but... but her sister HAD to somehow be to blame!! She HAD to be! Eve had to have pushed him to this! She was just using him like she always had! Making him suffer for her mistakes! Just like she did with everyone...

Eve merely seemed as though she had been slapped in the face. "Alouette what are you talking about!? What are you even doing here? Mother will need you're help back in-"

"Mother has lost her status...she needs no assistance further then that of the servants to look after her."

Eve's face turned back to one of shock. "But...how?"

Alouette merely leveled a heartless glare. "Do you really have to ask? Are you really that self centered!?" the hand reached for the pole arm but she seemed to be given pause as her eyes fell on the civilians around her. She huffed. "It doesn't matter... I've come here to bring you to justice."

"Ah the melodious sound of women scorned." the crowd again parted as another figure pushed his way passed, gesturing animatedly to the nothing in particular. "My but this is a grand symphony, chi chi chi." the second blonde figures eyes crossed to Akakios, the smile on his face growing slightly wider. "And why shouldn't it be when it's being preformed for such a...high born, audience. Chi chi chi..." his eyes, hidden behind his curtain of hair, drifted to staff on the floor through the hole in the wall... his smile lessened slightly.

Akakios's vision turned as he heard the name. "Alouette?" Eve's voice sounded into his ears. He watched as Aloutte continued to glare at the girl, putting a hand on her shoulder as she insulted her. A look upon his face, one that would resemble much of a protective older brother.

Akakios could only watch, though he wished for the woman to leave Eve alone, Eve had wished for questions to be asked. His gaze turning to her as she asked of her mother. Akakios's hair slapping into his face as his gaze veered to Alouette, his brows knitting together as she continued to boil in anger.

Akakios's gaze turned away from the two as a strange voice entered the crowd. Akakios's hand fell away from Eve as he stepped forward into the parted crowd, his arms spread out wide as his soft voice carried over the crowd. "I am of no princely duty here, and I wish to cause no disturbance to the extraordinary people of Vanguard."

He took a step forward, a bare hand now falling upon Alouette's shoulder. Shaking his head as a solemn expression remained on his face. "Dear Alouette."

His hand freeing from her shoulder, the hand cupping around his mouth as he whispered into her ear.

Eve Prier~

Alouette looked surprised as the stranger with her Sister stepped forward, his actions suggesting he was leaning forward to whisper something to her. Her face went slightly red from the forwardness of the maneuver. Truth be told, as much of a stalwart warrior as she was, Alouette wasn't really used to close contact with the opposite gender. The only boy she'd really ever gotten remotely close enough to call "friend" in her lifetime had been Xenon, and it had been many years since she'd really had a chance to speak with him. Still, she was spared from an awkward situation by her...partner? She supposed she could call her eccentric acquaintance that. Alouette had met Bellius during her time as a trainee in the Goddess's knights, the odd mercenary having been the only one to survive a rather harrowing mission alongside her. For no less than a week the two had fought side by side to return to the surface from a failed expedition funded in the name of retrieving Cryisias deposits...and turned sour when Monsters swarmed them.

Alouette didn't really...approve, of the strange Sorcerer for hire, but after fighting side by side for her life with him, she supposed she couldn't really call herself indifferent to him either. She trusted him, much more even, then she thought it wise. And he...in his own way, she supposed, seemed to favor her in much the same way. Partners...yes. She supposed that summed up her relationship with the Cheshire smiling magician...

Bellius pulled his partner back away from the prince before he uttered a word, holding a arm out in front of her in an almost protective manner. "Tsk tsk...didn't anyone tell you that if you can't say something in front of a lady's escort, don't say it at all...?" Bellius's hair parted ever so slightly, his crimson eyes, so very much like another sorcerer's, glimpsing through the parting. There was a sort've message in those eyes, conveying a clear sort've sly missive by proxy of a simple look. "Hn. I have to admit, I find it a little odd a finely dressed individual such as yourself would be here during such turbulent times...something go amiss for you milord?" he said milord, in a slightly mocking tone, as though it was an insult, but the young man's true meaning was clear to any who knew Akakios's identity. It seemed that unlike Xenon, Bellius knew his Burnsteinian royalty...perhaps a little...too well.

"Bellius," Alouette interjected in a more authoritarian voice. "Stay yourself. I'm sure this gentlmen meant nothing by it..." she merely glared over at her sister. "No doubt he was merely speaking on behalf of one who doesn't deserve such kindness..."

Eve looked slightly perturbed now. "Alouette, why are you acting this way!? I left because I had no choice! I had to protect Xen!"

"Do NOT use poor Xenon as your excuse!" Alouette demanded, her wrath rekindled. "You left because it's what you always wanted...you never cared about our family or your obligations... as always, your only concern was yourself."

Eve looked as though these words had actually struck a cord, recoiling slightly with a more wounded expression on her face. Was...that right? She herself had thought much the same thing. She'd been the one who'd wanted to leave... Was Alouette right...?

Alouette merely set her face in a grim triumph at her sister's silence. Bellius in contrast...

"Heh..." he allowed his smile to grow still further. "Well mister tough guy...would you still stand beside such a selfish little girl...?" he seemed amused at something even as he said this, and there was even a hint of Irony in his words, as though even as he said the words, he was implying something else. He Muttered something under his breath and single rune srpund up in his hand, flame licking up from his fingers without harming them in the slightest. "I think you might be in over your little head..." his eyes passed back to the staff on the floor of the bar...

The sun was beating down on her with little to no mercy, a small bead of sweat running down the back of her neck. Violetta, the girl, was slightly short for her age with stunning red hair and almost matching bright red eyes. Her skin was pale despite the fact she looked like she'd been roaming around for a bit, her hair pinned up with various pearls and other odd things for a wanderer to have. It suggested that, at some point, she may have been in a place where she had maybe a bit of money...
Just a bit.
Licking her lips the redheaded female stopped walking, the dirt under her old boots making a crunching sound as she skidded to a stop.

"...Vanguard."

There, just in front of her, was the city. Large, tall stone walls blocked most of her view... but she could detect the tips of three towers hidden inside. Here was a place where she could get some sort of job... maybe. Possibly. If no one knew who she was. All sorts of traders lay wait behind those walls... surely someone would be willing to hire a pretty young girl willing to do almost anything. Sighing idly at that depressing thought she shielded her eyes from the sun, stepping forward once more. She melted into the crowd of civilians, entering the city as stealthily as a cat.

Ah... it was a bustling place, wasn't it? Eyes roaming around blankly she took it all in, a ghost of a smile spreading across her face as she breathed in the smells of all sorts of things. Spices, different foods, wood shavings... yes, this was Vanguard alright, the city of trade. She slipped through the throngs of people with a silly smile on her features, suddenly stopping.
Her eyes trained on a group of women... some of the... the...
Cardinal Knights.
Paling considerably the fiery headed female pulled her hood up over the bright red locks, concealing her face as she turned and went the opposite direction.

Violetta did not want her past catching up with her.

Licking her dry lips she ducked around, only relaxing when she was certain that the Cardinal Knights had not noticed her. They would probably know who she was... due to, uh, reasons. Biting hard on her bottom lip she slunk around, trying to push the thoughts of her days in Seirun away...
Far, far away.
But she couldn't seem to do that simple thing... those depressing memories kept invading her thoughts.

Not paying much attention she jumped when someone ran into her, looking down to find a small child had run into her legs... only to fall back onto his bottom.
"Oh, are you okay?" she asked quietly, reaching down to help him. He smiled at her in a almost evil way as he dodge her hands, getting to his feet and shooting off... vanishing into the crowd. Violetta frowned, eyebrows furrowed as she suddenly gasped.
Her money... the last little bit she had...

Reaching for her pouch Violetta's eyes automatically watered. That brat! He'd stolen her coin purse!
Breaking off into a sprint she went the way the child had gone, realizing she'd probably never see her money again. But she needed that... she needed it badly.
Or at least until she found a job. Which... who knew how long that would take?! Pushing people out of her way she searched high and low, eyes finally grazing over a small form...
He saw her, too.

The boys face paled as he shot off, Violetta yelling after him.
"HEY! THIEF!"
He glanced back and stuck his tongue out, her coin purse in his hands. She grit her teeth and took off after him..
She couldn't catch him on her own, but she sure as hell was going to give it her best shot.
"STOP RUNNING YOU LITTLE MAGGOT!"

Oh... oh yea... she was annoyed.

"Life's a drag, your a nuisance, just another day in life."

A busy Maka was walking around a back alley, carrying an unconscious Xenon on one of his shoulders. He sighed as he looked for spare rope that usually would just be hanging around, but to little success. "How can this be? Back in Sol, rope was everywhere in the traders district! Here, its like rope is the equivalent of gold or gems or whatever!" He cursed as he kept looking.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, a small object came running in his direction. Fast. And before he knew it, he had fallen to the ground, along with a small child beside him. "Ow... Jeez kid, mind watching were you go----" He stopped when he noticed the small wallet on the ground. He picked it up, also hearing the yells from a distance, calling out thief. He quickly kicked Xen behind some food bags. "Great..." He barely had time to say before another person quickly turned the corner.
