Cookies and Kisses: Twins vs Yashima

The twins needed to see their other side of the family too, every so often. So Patrick, on a day off from running around like a crazy man, decided to go see Indu - who was still his friend hopefully - and the other inhabitants of her house while bringing the dark skinned, half-blind little b*****d children with him.

However, he needed someone to help him cart around the two squirmers. NOT Akilah. And Iamel was out doing things teenagers did. Cocaine, probably. Mordread was out of the question, the whiney little b***h. All that was left was Yashima. She (for she was a she now - there was even a little bump at her chest in her nightdresses) had refused initially but when she was told either she came with or Zah would never be allowed to spend the night again, she had followed. The white haired fox was holding Ade (who was chewing on a rubix cube because he didn't know how to do it yet) and looking mighty disgruntled.

"Knock, Yashi. Or Tyvie might knick all your shiny things by the time we get home." Oh, he was proud of her daughter. She got a little coin of gold pressed at her forehead. ...that was mainly because he was weird, though.

Yashima knocked. "I hate you, Tousan."

Tyven grinned widely, pointed canines flashing. She loved hearing her own name. The ponytailed child stared for a moment at her brother, finding his saliva on the cube rather distasteful, then reached up to tug at anything pretty should could get her hands on, that poor Yashima was wearing.

The door was swung open by Indu, who blinked in surprise to find the short man, her now longish red hair hiding some of her shock, by covering part of her face. Still, she smiled warmly, obviously showing her pleasure, and forgiveness and beckoned him inside.

"Patty! Y'brought the twins! Speakin' of twins... They just woke up from some sort of coma thing, and... well... you'll see for yourself... Yashi..?"

Was he a girl?! Shrugging, Indu moved further into the house, expecting them to follow. The twins were lounging in the living room, much like they had been before the coma, Malum stretched out in a patch of sun, topless, with the glowering, tomboyish Levis painting his finger nails a pretty, sparkly blue. The place was surprisingly empty, probably because of Indu still recovering from her accident. All of the children hadn't been recollected yet...

Ade blew rasperries at his sister. "S'good." He defended his rubix cube, arms latching around it with a grumble. Yashima yelped a little at the rough tug, giving the girl a frown. It didn't work on this new face of his, appearing more like a drowned kitten hissing for the sake of hissing then an angry lion

"Of course I brought the spawn. How've you been, Indu?" He grinned back, relaxing a skootch when he figured out she wasn't going to attack him. Tyven was given a brief squeeze as they followed her inside. "A coma thing? They got bigger, didn't they? .... Oh, yeah. They got bigger. Same thing happened with Yashi."

The fox in question hung back behind her father as they moved inside. She remembered Malum. And Levis. She had liked Levis. Malum, not so much, despite him being a boy. Indus questioning tone on his name had already cast his face a pale shade of pink... s**t. Now there were PEERS about.

"Hey Malum, Levis." That was Patrick, of course. "You guys have a nice coma?"

Despite her boyish appearance, Lee's chuckle was all husky, female, almost too old for her body, and she sent Patrick a warm, loving smile that made her tough appearance melt away. She loved Patrick. And Yashi! Was he here? Carefully capping the polish, she left Malum to calmly sit up, and blow at his fingertips, and jogged over to the small group. Indu snagged Ade, giving him a kiss on the cheek, so that Levis was free to give the small man a squeeze. She was... A bit strong.

"I'm not sure nice is the word for it."

Malum finally stood, and wandered over, slipping on a button-up shirt as he did so to smirk at Patrick and Yashima. They seemed to take the swapping of gender in stride. Why? Well, no one else would know, but it could be because the twins had discovered they'd swapped genders during their coma.

Or, it could just be that Lee loved Yashi any way, and Malum always thought he was a girl in the first place, who knew?

"I think I got the shitty end of the deal in that coma."

Mal was charming.

Ade was content to snuggle his auntie, the rubix cube falling to the ground so he could back. Yay affection! She was feeling better and all was well! Patrick squeaked a little at Lees hug, giving her a squeeze in return.

"I don't think it ever is, Lee. Yashi woke up from it in a panic. You guys look like you're doing well." His hand moved to smooth over Lees hair, grinning right back at her. He didn't notice that Yashima was scowling at Malum.

The fox moved over as well, giving Lees shoulder a soft squeeze. "It's never fun to remember things." His own voice, in contrast to Lees, was high and soft, girlish by all means. A giant leap from where it had been when he was a male.

"You look pretty, Yashima."

The cool, smooth tone that came from Mal made it hard to tell if the comment was an insult or compliment, and his smile was as ambiguous as ever. Obviously, they hadn't changed overly much... Yet. Of course, Malum hadn't said anything about Yashima being a pansy yet, and Lee seemed a bit more outgoing... Malum was also a lot prettier. Lee, it seemed, was dressing more boyishly than her brother, perhaps to cover some things up? And the bloodred scars/tattoos didn't look to healthy either. They'd both changed quite a bit.

However, when it came to Yashima's comment, Lee smiled, and shrugged, shifting to attach herself gently to Yashima. He seemed more frail than she at the moment.

"I was nice and pretty. I didn't look..." like me.

Compliment or insult, Malums comment made the gold eyes snap up and glare at the younger boy, muscles tensing slightly. Must not try to hurt him. Lee would be upset. Her jaw set and when she spoke, her voice was taunt and lower then before.

"Thanks."

One word and her attention was to Lee. The leeching on was met with an akward smile, hand moving to touch her hair affectionately. "I was small and dark," She assured her, "Its better then the whole pale thing. You don't burn as easily."

"I was a boy."

She'd been the Yang to her own Yin in the past. Of course, now she wasn't. It actually explained why Malum and Levis' personalities didn't quite match their physical sides. In the past, Malum had been Yin, and female, dark, and Levis had been the sweet-hearted male. Mal was still bitter about the loss of his darker powers, which Lee was now learning to control. Perhaps things were better this way.

Malum grinned and stepped forward, letting his now dry, blue-tipped fingers trail through Yashima's hair, eyebrows raised in his own challenge.

"You make a nice girl."

Indu, not one to get involved, raised an eyebrow, and nudged Tyven with a foot, toward the kitchen, following after with Ade in her arms.

"C'mon, Patrick. Let the children... play."

Lees declaration made his eyebrows raise, slowly, and his hand continued to pet at her hair. So she was a boy, huh?

"Well..." She drawled out slowly, "So was I. But it's not the same, huh?"

Before Yashi could say any more, alien fingers were touching her hair. Her jaw twitched and a hand flew. Oh, it didn't go to try and punch Malum in the face (she wished, oh she wished...) but instead to just smack his hand away from his hair. "Don't you touch me," The fox snapped, voice dropping to a hiss. "You're not allowed."

...that was a challenge for the future, alright. As for now, maybe her just being a b***h.

Patrick cleared his throat and scooped up the other twin. He followed Indu with a shake of his head. "They're either going to hate each other or be good friends."

Malum's fingers instantly locked around her wrist, and he leaned close, voice quiet and gaze intense, although his face was reasonably blank. "I'll touch you whenever I please, Yashima." Slowly, that grin crept across his features, and he moved until their noses barely touched, before letting her go, roughly, and beginning to button up his shirt.

Levis looked uncomfortable, but seeing as Malum hadn't hurt anyone, and simply frowned, long fingers gently touching her friend's side. "No, I suppose it's not the same... Mally was a girl." Explains a lot, doesn't it? She didn't add, but her facial expression implied it. That also might be a reason Yashima and Malum clashed.

"You sound like a serial killer." He was too strong for her to jerk her wrist back from - even when she was in her boy form, he was still bigger. Yashima hadn't been made for brute strength. Her teeth bared when he came in so close, hissing between those clenched dentals before he let her go.

"b*****d," The word was grumbled, fingers rubbing at her wrist. It hadn't hurt but there was still a residue of Very Angry Winged Boy on them. Lees touch was leaned in to before the foes cheeks puffed up a bit with air. "Not a very nice one, I see. So did you two switch or something? Because you're now a nice girl and he... Well. He."

That caused both twins to chuckle, instantly relaxing the atmosphere in the living room, and Mal turned, pacified, to collapse onto the couch, rudely taking up the entire space. Still, at least he wasn't being angry anymore. Levis was left to explain, and ran a hand through her dark hair. "Sorta? I'm not sure if switch is the right term. I think we more became one another, but not completely? I was a nice guy to, and well... Mal's personality hasn't changed much, from what I saw...." Malum raised his brows, but his eyes slid shut without comment, the sun hitting him in a way that pleased him.

Grabbing Yashi's hand, Lee led the other girl over toward the couch, and shoved her brother's legs off. Obviously, something had changed, as she never would have done something like that pre-coma. Malum grumbled, but didn't hit his sister, apparently a habit he'd gotten out of as well.

"Sit down. Tell me, how are you?"

"How did you two die, then? Together?" That puzzled him. From what he had heard, it was usually just one that got reborn. If others had died, in the midst of things, they were not heard of, from him. But Yashima let herself be led to the furniture.

She made sure to sit on the other arm of the couch, as far away from Malum as she could. Boy physiically or not, he still creeped her out. And was violent. "Female. I just changed one night.... Scared Zah." She shrugged those small shoulders, eyes slanting to peer at Lee. "His mother died, so he stays over at our house a lot."

"Uhm... I don't know how we died?" They hadn't seen that at all, yet. Just... snapshots and clips of their previous life. Levis shifted about, letting Malum place his blue-socked feet on her lap as he regarded the girls from half-closed eyes. He was an odd boy, but... He didn't TRUELY seem to have malicious intent toward Yashima? He was certainly a lot "nicer" now that the fox was female.

"You hungry, Yashima?" Yeah, Malum was strange. Levis simply smiled, and shrugged, before frowning approprietely.

"That's sad... I think we met him once, for a tiny bit of time? White hair?"

Yashima sat back against the couch, leaning slightly against Lee. Malums sudden shifts between his moods put her even more on edge. People weren't supposed to change on a dime like that, were they?

"Sometimes not knowing is best," She agreed softly. Yashi knew she died at the hands of people she trusted, cruelly and without affection. At the blondes question, she glanced up with her eyebrows arching, just slightly. "Uhm. No, thank you. And yeah.. White hair, dark dark black skin. The drow person. Spoke a weird language."

Without a word, the boy swung his legs off the couch and strolled into the kitchen, shooting a dazzling smile to Patrick, his mother, and his younger cousins as he began to rummage in the cupboards. After that, he ignored them, intent upon his task.

Indu, obviously as used to his moods as Levis, simply continued to dangle a shiney, gold earing above Tyven's head, making the little girl almost frantic as she jumped for it. Fun times.

"How's things with the missus, Pat?"

Levis frowned, unsure of the mood change, and tried to swap subjects, rolling her shoulders and ignoring Malum's diappearance.

"At least I'm big now, like you. I wish I looked a bit more like Mal though. I used to."

Patricks eyes rolled as he watched Tyven jump for the shiny, a wide grin on his face. S she was a little more cat-like then he would've thought. It amused him. "We're not together, anymore. We have a bigger house..he stays on his side, I stay on mine. I just couldn't handle it and I really didn't give a s**t about him."

Cursing in front of the children was luckily nothing he would get scolded for at THIS house. "Tryin to get back into dating. Some luck but I'm not wearing my heart on my sleeve. How about you? You're looking good, Indu."

"You ARE big." Yashi grinned a little, her fingers going up into the girls hair. It was soon being braided into small sections of braids, her tail flicking happily. "I think you're pretty, Lee. Mal's pretty too, but you're very pretty. I like how you look."

Some o f that, of course, could be coming from his own past life but.. eh.

"Thanks, Yashi..." Levis, although not one to wear braids on her own, sat patiently, and even enjoyed Yashi's fingers in her hair. It reminded her of braiding Malum's, which he didn't seem to mind. The boy could be quite swishy. Speaking of the 'angel', he now re-entered, that gorgeous smile on his face, with a plate of cookies. Which he placed on the coffee table in front of Levis and Yashima, clearly expecting them to be eaten.

"I baked them yesterday." With that, he flopped back onto the couch, causing a delighted laugh from Levis.

Yashi stared. Mal was pretty when he was in a good mood - disarmingly so. It made the fox frown a little bit, head canting to the side. His fingers tugged, just a little at Lees hair before reaching over to take a cookie.

"You bake, Malum?" The cookie was studied curiously, nibbling at it experimentally. "It's good."

Surprise surprise.

"Mmmhnnm. Something about the beating, and stuffing into an oven pleases me." Strange smile again, raised brows. Now laying down, he seemed perfectly content to nap, and did so, as Levis began eating as well. Lee finished two before speaking again, in a lowered tone, as to not disturb her brother's peaceful mood.

"I got you a present. Want me to get it...?"

"....serial killer." Was all the girl said in response to that, looking down at her cookie with an expression of horror. That didn't stop her from eating the cookie, however, leaning agains the couch once more.

Present? Yashi blinked and er face went pink again. "You didn't have to get me a present," She murmured back. "...but I'm not goin to say no."

"Okay, gimmie a second." Levis gently lifted Malum's feet off of her body, standing and replacing them, before darting down the hall to her bedroom. Poor Yashima was left with the not-quite asleep Malum. There may have been only a minute of silence before Malum, without opening his eyes, or losing his blank expression spoke up.

"Yashima... C'mere."

Eyebrows arched again and slowly she scooted. It may not have been the smartest thing to do, considering his past with Malum but Lee trusted him. Mal wouldn't hurt him if Lee would be upset - and she would be.

Besides, she had nails. She'd gouge at him if he tried anything serial-killer esque.

"What?"

"That's not close enough. I promise not to bite. This time." His slight smile, although there because he was sickly amused, looked innocent, even angelic, and he let his blue eyes slide open to meet her golden ones. He obviously had something in mind, but he always did. Possibly the only person who could figure him out was currently digging around in her closet. "You're not scared, are you, darling?" Malum was a creepy kid.

Yashima stared into those blue eyes, willing herself NOT to fidget away from the other. Malum was the one with the power right now and they both knew it... It didn't mean he had to act like it, damnit. "I am NOT afraid of you," She retored hotly, creeping closer to him on the couch until she was hovering, "You're just weird. Your mood switches too fast."

Malum sat up quickly, somehow managing not to hit his head against hers, and grabbed her, giving her a... Surprisingly gentle kiss, before pulling away and letting his hands drop, grinning wickedly. "Told you I wouldn't bite." He was... Him. And that was a rather insufferable thing. They could hear Levis opening the door, to rejoin them, and he calmly reached for a cookie, taking a wolfish bite. His first kiss. Stolen from Yashima.

Gentle or not, it surprised the hell out of her. As soon as she was released, she fell back agains the couch, eyes wide. "Wha-what was that for?!" Her voice was higher now, a squeak compared to what it usually was. She scooted to the other end of the couch, face bright red and once Lee came in, she got a slightly desperate look from Yashima

Levis' brows shot skyhigh when she saw Yashima's expression, however, Malum seemed to just be calmly eating a cookie, doing nothing wrong, so she shrugged and let it drop, sitting inbetween the two with a slim, wrapped thing which she handed to her friend. "Open it when you get home, okay?" Malum instantly narrowed his eyes, but continued to eat, obviously upset that he wouldn't get to find out what it was.

Yashima took the gift, instantly re-leaning into his friends frame. Lee was good. COmforting. Leeeeeee Yes. "Okay," He agreed, leg moving to press against hers. "Thank you, Lee."

What was it? A picture of Malum in a dress. Levis, who had a bad streak in her, though her friend would appreciate it. Yawning, the 'demon' pet at her friend briefly, before Indu and crew re-exited the kitchen.

"Patrick, why don't you leave the two here tonight? I can handle it."

"If you're sure..." He looked to the younger two, ruffling up at their hair. "They've gotten faster at the running and hiding thing. Just as a warning." Patrick grinned rather crookedly at his friend, leaning in to give Indu a brief hug before pulling back. "You three okay?"

Yashi, being petted by Levis, ignored them for a moment before that last question came from her tousan. "We're fine," She grumbled, eyes peeking up at her tousan

Indu's eyes narrowed on the younger pair of twins, and she grinned. "Warning duly noted. You try to have a good day, alright, Pat?" Tyven seemed almost disappointed to be losing her sparkly, dark daddy, and briefly grabbed his pantleg, shooting him a dark scowl.

"Dahee leevin us fer uggy?" Which could be loosely translated to, 'Patrick, how could you leave us for ugly Mordread?' Levis was already hugging Yashima goodbye, and Malum gave her a chilly smile.

"Come visit us soon, Yashima."

"Of COURSE I'm not leaving you for him, darling." Tyven was scooped up and he tugged out one of his earrings, offering it to her. "But you're just so lovely your Auntie Indu wants to spend some time with you too. I'll be back in the morning to steal you back, aright?"

Both twins got a kiss on the cheek and Tyven was put down gently. Yashima hugged Levis right back and she stuck out her tongue at Malum. "See you soon, Lee."

"Oh, Yashima, I'm hurt! You stone-cold fox, you." Malum clutched his chest, before wiggling his fingers in goodbye to both Patrick, and the now-female Yashi. Tyven, having forgiven her father quickly once she received his gift, held up the earing for Indu to put in the girl's lobe, and pushed over Ade affectionately.

"See you tomorrow, Patrick."

Chaos and a Coma: Twins vs Coailiann

The headquarters was slowly coming together again. Ianna had ordered a complete remodel - new couches, a Television that was bolted into the wall so it couldn't fall over. The bar had been removed and placed with a larger play area, the hallway had been repaired but there was still no garden door. The chandellier had been shattered and had yet to be replaced - actually, most of the glass was still piled off aside the wall. The floor was scarred and bloodstained from the activities previous and the windows were all broken. The gardens were still completely level and it didn't look like the place that it had been once before. The dark energy still hadn't left.

It was why Coailiann had left and moved in with Callix. She couldn't handle the memories that she had each time she walked into the lobby. She still saw Neveah and Danny fall and it hurt her, badly. Today she was there simply to pack more of her clothes and she was currently wearing some of Callix's clothing which was definitely a little too big on her. Her hair was braided loosely and she...Didn't look like the princess she normally did either. She looked tired. Currently the sidhe was standing in the center of the room, eyes closed, and trying to will herself to move out of the lobby.

Levis was clearly devastated. She was outside, staring at what had become of the gardens, tears in her red eyes. Malum, frowning, touched his sister's shoulder in a surprisingly caring way, and turned his blue eyes to the rest of the headquarters. It was a disaster. What had happened during their coma? Leaving his sister to mourn, the boy strolled into the lobby, and didn't hesitate when he saw Coailiann, in the middle of the place. She didn't look like her usual self.

"Coailiann...?"

There was a slight smirk on his face, but it was just a mask. Malum was confused. Bloodstains... glass... There must have been a battle.

Coailiann jumped at the voice and cowered - definitely not something she would have done before. The little sidhe had been quite fearless, snarky even at some points. She didn't recognize the voice at all and she slowly turned her head. Green eyes blinked at the sight of a grown up Malum and she slowly straightened up again, brushing a piece of loose white hair from her pale face. "M..Malum? You grew..?"

He certainly looked much different from the baby and toddler. The only reason she recognized him was the fact he had the angelic wings and nobody else she knew had them. They were bigger, but they were very much Mal.

"It appears so." His face was blank now, but he stepped closer quickly, impudently holding her face by her chin, and leaning close to stare at her. "What happened to you?" Footsteps approached, and he let her go, leaning back to frown slightly as Levis walked into the building. The tomboyish girl let out a gasp as she examined the place, and approached the two, eyes wide at the sight of Coailiann.

"Kay...? What did we... miss?"

Because they'd definately missed SOMETHING.

Kay definitely didn't like being touched. She flinched backwards and took a breath, looking up at Lee. She definitely looked different as well. "Well...You missed a lot," she said softly, moving to the new couch and lowering herself down slowly, "Including the deaths of two guardians. Because of me."

Speaking it out loud was hard to do but Kay figured that the twins deserved to know. After all, wasn't it their reason for being? Wasn't that what Matilda said? To guard the headquarters? Had her sister known this would happen?

God she was still so confused.

"Don't be so arrogant, I'm sure you weren't the only reason." Malum's tone was submissive, and he took a seat on the arm of the couch, legs crossing in a slightly effeminant manner at the knee, while Levis joined Kay on the couch.

"Kay... can you explain a little more...?" Levis got the feeling there was a lot more to the story. Were she and Malum supposed to have been here? What was going on? Since their flashbacks, she'd been feeling oddly, like she'd failed at something while they'd slept.

Malum earned a glare from the sidhe, "Danny died trying to save my life and Neveah died because I pissed Jorianth off." She snapped, "How can that not be my fault?" A deep breath, calming herself down as she closed her eyes again. Damnit. She was getting angrier lately.

"The headquarters was sucked into a place called the in between. The place where you two were found." Her head lifted again to look at the twins. She probably shouldn't let them know THAT - but it was the truth, "There are two types of spirits there. Light and Dark. WE got attacked by dark ones. One troll...Uh...I can't remember his name," she frowned, "Not that it matters. He attacked first and that's when Danny died, taking the gun from me because I couldn't shoot him because I was too scared. Then Jorianth came. Then..." she didn't know if she could continue explaining everything without breaking down again.

It had been hard enough letting Callix know. "It was just bad. Really, really bad."

"Honestly, I think you were rather unimportant to their deaths. They probably would've gone anyways. And if not them, some other guardians. Or worse, a child. Wouldn't that be worse?" Malum's own special brand of 'comforting'. Frowning slightly at the knowledge they'd just recieved, Levis held up a finger, stopping the storytelling.

"Wait, found? As babies? Rather than wands? Isn't that... strange?" Her eyes met her brother's and he continued for her, smiling slightly.

"Is Ianna here?"

"I don't know. I don't live here anymore," Coailiann answered, "And I suppose that would have been worse but...You wouldn't understand."

The sidhe was definitely in pity party mode - it seemed the only time she was out was when Neamh and Callix were around, oddly enough. "I can go see if she's in her room, though."

The silver haired woman was entering as her daughter spoke and frowned. This didn't seem like her daughter at all - but that was niether here nor there. "No need, I'm here. Hello, Lee. Malum. You've grown I see." A smile then, "You certainly missed a lot."

"Indeed, it seems we have. Care to fill us in, instead of stating the obvious?" That from the blonde boy, whol let his arm trail along the back of the couch, almost touching Kay's hair. Malum was the type to push buttons, and he certainly didn't like the timidity that'd appeared in his old... foe? friend? who knew. Levis cleared her throat, and spoke up, running her fingers through dark hair.

"What we mean is that, was there a reason it happened while we were growing? What's going on? Why did you find us as babies?"

Ianna nodded her head, "Yes, I'll fill you in. And I'll answer your questions." The woman went to get a chair from beside her desk and brought it back into the area, settling herself on the small cushion, "I don't know, for sure, if there is a reason why it happened when you were growing. I have a theory and that theory is because you have very important roles in our story. You two are two halves of one soul - as I'm sure you've figured out by now, or at least, have started to. You are Yin and you are Yang." a pause as she tried to word it correctly, "You are the guardians of the portal to Matilda's worlds. As long as you're in balance, in tune with eachother - and alert - you protect us. Well, you're supposed to. Matilda has something to give you, soon. But not now. Now...Well, now is not the time for you to receive your burden."

The woman sighed, "I don't know why you were found as infants. But you were found curled around your wand - only one. It's how we know you're one soul."

Coailiann listened quietly. It wasn't something she hadn't heard before and her head was now leaning into Malum's touch.

It was something the twins hadn't heard before, and even as Mal stroked Coailiann's hair, he was looking at Lee, thinking. They were both thinking, in a strange sort of blending that wasn't quite telepathy, but more a continuation of a thought process. I'll never be Yang, Lee.... But you are becoming Yang, as I am becoming Yin.... It starts on the outside...? It must, Mal.

"Guardians?" Malum looked incredulous. Who would trust him to watch anything?!

"Yes, Guardians. Your soul is the key to the portals. You two are who will guard Matilda, and this place, from anything that seeks to harm it. You two will be the only holders of the keys." She paused, "Because of this, you two will...Well, you two are likely going to be in danger. We have always known Matilda has enemies. What she's doing here...Bringing you all back to life...Uh, well, it's not the most smiled upon. In fact, I don't think anyone's too pleased by it."

Ianna bit her lip, "This recent attack has opened our eyes - it's worse than we thought."

Levis didn't like that. Her red eyes darkened slightly, and she, for a moment, appeared to be the more frightening of the two, clentching the arm of the couch she was closest too. "Malum and I can take danger." Mal, looking extremely relaxed, rolled his shoulders, yawning and tousling his hair.

"When are we supposed to be ready?"

"I don't know. Matilda will call you when it's time. You'll be able to hear her, you know. If you haven't heard her already it should start soon."

Coailiann yawned as well, "Yawning is contageous, Malum," she said softly, trying to smile.
