"I believe she's leaving, yes." He strode further into the room and saw some of the things she had been looking at. He certainly recognized some of those symbols. He could have spent a long time puzzling out the meaning if he wanted to... but he didn't.
Comfort wasn't his strong point and he doubted that it was really what Othelia wanted. Neither of them were the soft sorts. "She seemed impressed by you!" She hadn't said anything but she was at least neutral about Othelia. Neutrality counted for being impressed where Beastmaster was concerned. She had a general contempt for most living creatures.

"Good..." Othelia said softly. She still wasn't sure what to make of the giant mare but she made Othelia nervous and she didn't like that. She had been happy to get away from her presence when she had been dismissed even though that action of being dismissed was aggravating.
Impressed? Othelia regarded Xelloss with a raised eyebrow. While he didn't always tell the truth it wasn't like him to outright lie. Othelia didn't expect that he would change this behavior just to make her feel better and if he was trying to it was a pretty ridiculous lie to be telling. Impressing a person that terrified her wasn't exactly something Othelia could be proud over.
She nodded her head as though it was something that mattered to her anyway before looking back at the drawings on the wall. "You're...pleased, right?" She asked something distant about her words. "To see your master again?"

Othelia was as he had never seen her before. She had always been the quiet type but this was a different behavior. He had the feeling that she spoke slowly because she had a great deal of thinking to do between each word. What an interesting transition a bit of information could make.
"I'm quite pleased." He couldn't predict what she would make of that. He wasn't even sure why she asked. What did it matter to her whether he was pleased to see her or not? He very much doubted that she was curious due to concern, unless she concealed more emotions beneath that stony exterior than he was aware of.
"She's not going to be around the area anymore, so continuing on our quest won't be a problem."

"I see." Yes, he was pleased. Of course he was. He'd seen someone important to him after a long time or at least that was the impression Othelia had gotten. She stared hard at the drawing of the kalona on the wall until its edges began to blur. What was it like to have something that meant that much she wondered.
She looked away from the wall to the teardrop rubies that wrapped around her leg. What was it like to feel such strong allegiance to someone like that? Othelia was beginning to realize that she just didn't know. She liked Carmine but Othelia didn't know if she could claim loyalty to her, not true loyalty, Carmine was not of her race. Not of either of them apparently.
"I want to find a rock." She said finally and seemingly out of the blue. "Before we leave this place, I want to find a rock." She fixed Xelloss with a serious stare before nodding her head and moving to leave the room.

"There are plenty of rocks around! Take your pick!" Xelloss smiled cheerily... then let the act slip away and watched Othelia with seriousness. The relationship between them was irrevocably changed. Othelia now knew things that, if they didn't change her own opinion, they'd change the opinion of anyone else who happened to hear them. She knew more truth about him than anyone had known in years. It was an odd feeling for Xelloss.
"You know, you can't tell the others about her." There was no mistaking the her he was speaking of. There was only one mare that he would ever speak of with such respect and admiration. "This time... it can be our little secret." She would agree. She had no option but to agree. If the others heard about Beastmaster there was no telling what might happen, except that it might end with most of their deaths.

Othelia turned around looking like she wanted to headbutt Xelloss, probably because she did. She didn't want any rock she wanted a rock with marks like hers to keep with her. She would have told him as much if not for the sudden shift in his demeanor.
"A...secret." She looked off into the hallway towards the entrance of the building. Everything had changed since she had come inside and now she had secrets to keep as well? Her eyes narrowed as she thought it over. If she told the others what would happen? Nothing good she imagined. Not good for Othelia and not good for Carmine's UnderGround.
"Alright...a secret..." She nodded her head before proceeding. To keep herself and the others safe from disaster that was how it would have to be whether she liked it or not.

Xelloss didn't give Othelia a reply to her assurance. Anything he could tell her would seem condescending or trite. He trusted that she would keep it a secret as much as he trusted anyone else. Being talkative already wasn't in her character so he doubted it would be difficult for her to have one more thing not to talk about. If he had been with Carmine then the information would have spread to the rest of the Underground within minutes. Thankfully, Othelia was more reserved and subtle than their leader.
As he followed he grabbed a few random things here and there to stuff into his bag. He had already found more treasure than he could have hoped for here, but the others wouldn't know that. He'd hold onto some random pieces of junk and let them think that was what he was after. He had to keep them guessing. He was, after all, a mysterious priest.
