Slowly, Rogue reached out with her hand, trying to get out what she really meant, "What Ah really mean is... Tha man in dose photos, Ah don't know. Ah only know tha man in fronta meh. But obviously, this family counts ya as one of their own blood, and dat says volumes. Ah don't why Cadmus did what they did, but Ah'm personally grateful and honored ta know you for who you are."

Conner looked back to Rogue as a smile slowly spread on his face.
"....that means a lot."
It really did. Being his own person was one of the things he kept striving for.

Kon's smile broadened a bit further. Had he ever expected this to be the response...? Not exactly. It was a pleasant surprise to say the least.
"You're too nice to me, Marie."
Conner closed up the book and set it aside before he stood from the couch.
"Hey, um.... I have, a different book that was put together for 'team' friends....... if, that sounds more interesting, I don't know."
Superboy scratched the back of his neck as he suggested this. The book Cassie put together wasn't in the house....

Slowly, Rogue got up, still smiling at Conner, "Well, if it's somethin that you help put tagether, Ah'd be honored Sir." The Lady X-Man was set to follow Superboy.

"Definitely contributed."
He affirmed with a nod as he left the room, shortly leaving out the side door and heading for the large open barn. He stepped forward and rose from the ground to reach the second-story opening-of-a-window. The room hadn't been used in a while, but everything Conner arranged there was still accounted for. If anything it looked like an older version of a 'treehouse' hangout.
"Everything's just the way I left it...."
He mused mostly to himself as he set foot in the room. This was the closest he felt to home..... and it reminded him again that his second home *the Titans Tower* wasn't 'home' anymore.

Rogue followed Conner all smiles, and as she entered the homey barn, her green eyes noted the slight change in mood, "Hey hun? Are you ahlright?"

Conner turned his head and blinked, all the while heading for a cluttered desk.
"Oh, yeah. Fine."
He pulled out from one of the drawers a book and brushed at the front of it before handing it over to Rogue and flumping over on one of the nearest beanbag chairs. It really was good to be here.
The book he handed her would be chalk full of camera shots, mostly from the time he was in two particular teams 'Young Justice' and 'Teen Titans'. Many friends were present every now and then throughout the book, but only four were practically on every page: Superboy, Wondergirl, Impulse (who later on in the book was Kidflash) and Robin. Cassie had used nicknames for each of them when she labeled many of the pictures-- "Kon making Bart eat sushi", "Bart sleeping", "Tim studying", "paintball fight"-- but it didn't go into any further detail than that. Most of the pages were of the four best friends having fun, sometimes along with the rest of the team, some group photos. What else was a camera for? On some pages there were scribbles of notes- different handwriting styles from different people, and signed accordingly.(In the early pages, of course Conner would appear as---- this. ) (.........and, just because this is so hilarious- clicky)

Plopping into another beanbag chair, Marie started to study the different photos half-snickering at some of them. Finally she came across one of Superboy wearing a blacked paper sack over his head with some inscription below. Arching an eyebrow at the scene and after reading the notation offered, Marie's green eyes glanced over at Conner, "Bat-Honey Cam?"

Conner stretched on the beanbag chair, giving somewhat of a nostalgic *mischievous* smile. He knew what she was looking at.
"Picking on my best bud was my favorite pass time, okay?"

Rogue still gave Conner a sideways glance with a smirk. Turning to the next page, the Lady X-Man burst out laughing, "Pwned! Mwahahaha!! Some dark chick twacked you in da face!!! Priceless!!!"

Conner blinked before he moved closer so he could see the pages as well.
"Okay, that pic was taken on top of the T-Tower... that's Nightwing, and Bart built that in less than an hour-"
He pointed through the pictures to different faces and explained what was going on, if there were 'inside jokes', etc..

Rogue had a big smile on her face, as Conner explained a lot of the other Titans -- most of whom she never met -- and realized the she never will. Marie realized that most of these people are probably dead, but ... for Conner's sake, she'd never bring up that subject. Filing that thought away, the Mississippi native simply enjoyed the moment with her new friend, "Ya know, awhen we git back to tha Insititute, Ah'm gonna haveta show you some of our picture albums. We have similar bits of goofin around."
