Douglas found that his teeth did sink into the stallions flesh and he felt a warm gush of blood flow into his mouth. The taste satisfied and filled his blood lust. He tried to tear as much as he could. His buckteeth did more damage than a normal Soquili but nothing like a Kalona or skinwalker could do.

He felt the stallion rip away from him, which he knew must have hurt as well cause he did not ease up on his grip.

He turned and looked at his axe, the handle had definitely been broken and sat at the edge of the stream where the stallion had kicked it, but it sat there waiting. The blade was still very much usable and even had a part of the handle where he could grab on to it and use it as a close range weapon.

But now with fresh blood in his system, he felt renewed. This stallion was outnumbered and now that Bushkin was in the fight and taunting him, Douglas realized the power they had. He kicked the axe blade back towards the group he would pick it up later. He did not need it for now.

He stood tall on the opposite side of the stallion from Bushkin. Waiting intimidatingly for the reply to Bushkin's taunt.

To his surprise his second attacker did not press her charge instead seemingly content to stand back and taunt him while her partner circled around to the other side. A flicked ear followed the progress of Douglas while Ironforge remained focused on the new mare - she was fresh and unwounded, the larger threat at the moment but her words gave him pause.

Was he ready to give up and die? No..though perhaps he might as well - hadn't that been what he was doing this whole time? Hiding up here in his mountains and pretending that the rest of the world no longer existed..telling himself that he had paid his dues and would no longer concern himself in the plights of others. Others could save themselves - he'd said so many times and yet here he was, bruised and bleeding for the sake of someone else. One look at the captured mare and Ironforge's long buried sense of duty had rekindled itself - he had worked long and hard at burying and smothering that flame and he wasn't sure if he could do so again. Wasn't sure if he should.

The world still had problems and it always would - but they would be worse if everyone who stood for the good and right things in the world hid themselves away and tried to forget. He had been wrong to do so and the guilt which had been subconsciously eating at him seemed to vanish as he realized that he would do so no more. Gratitude flooded his vision and renewed strength seemed to enter his heart as he pulled himself up proudly and looked the vicious mare in the face.

"No" He told her in a flat determined voice. It was a simple response...but in uttering it Ironforge knew that something in his future had changed - now he would just have to survive this fight to find out what.

Bushkin sneered. It didn't matter whether he was ready to die. Her hooves would bring death to him no matter if he liked it or not. "Too bad," she whispered, rearing back and preparing to strike. She aimed her blow at his head this time. She would smash in his skull!

"Stop!" Without warning, Samsara's voice rang out across the battle.

Bushkin took an unsteady step backwards on her hind legs in her hesitation. She could only stay like that for a moment and was about to come down on the stallion anyways when Samsara shouted again.

"I said... stop!" Samsara's fur raised and there was no question that to disobey her now meant danger. She stared fixedly at Bushkin and didn't look away until Bushkin's four hooves were rooted to the ground. Her berserker mare obeyed, if barely. "You too, Douglas! Both of you... back off!" It was now time to give Douglas the intensity of her attention. Their target stood bloodied and alone, and yet she had made her decision.

"This fight is over."

Douglas laughed a little at the response of the stallion. Knowing that whether the stallion wanted to die or not it was not going to be his choice. He saw Bushkin prepare to strike and rushed in hoping to push the stallion into her strike.

In a instant he heard Samsara say stop and his hooves dug into the ground in response. He followed the order but was confused. The stallion was not dead. He looked from the stallion to Bushkin and then to Samsara....waiting for another order.

As he stood there his wounds seem to increase in pain and his will wanted to make the other pay. He took a step back from the stallion trying to keep himself from charging forward.

Even as he had uttered his answer Ironforge had been preparing to renew the fight, he wasn't going to roll over and die but he was starting to have some serious doubts about his future survival regardless, he stood bloodied as did one of his opponents but the skinwalker and the rest of her cohorts we still quite fresh. Still he was prepared to try and bloody as many of them as he could before sheer numbers overwhelmed him.

He was tensing to meet Bushkins attack when the skinwalker called her goon's off. Like her fighters the fluffy stallion was more then a little bit confused - but he wasn't stupid enough to question more time to rest. Backing up he put some more distance between himself and the skinwalker's minions less they decide to follow their bloodlust rather then the skinwalker's orders though they seemed quite conditioned to obey.

Given that fact, Ironforge turned his gaze upon the Skinwalker, it was a wary but determined look. Perhaps the cursed creature meant to take the fight on herself now?

Samsara saw wariness in her target's eyes, but not hope just yet. He wasn't an idiot enough to believe that she would let him walk away so easily. He was right. She gave him a sickly sadistic smile full of teeth. "You are one of true principles." She had met and broken ones like him before. She would mock and kill any would-be hero that stood in her way, but the ones that might actually be the real things, she saved special treatment for. The air of noble sacrifice clung to him as thickly as the stench of his blood. Letting him die here for his cause would only validate his ideals.

"Don't worry, we'll be leaving you without mussing your pretty coat any more. After all, you've proved your worth and your right to survive!" Though seemingly generous, a sarcastic disdain came with every word she said.

Svanbjorn stared at Samsara. What was she doing? She was obviously taunting the stallion. Nothing was over yet. Was she maybe planning on sending all of them after the stallion at once in a final slaughter? If that was her plan, their enemy wasn't fooled. That simple a plan could be carried out much more directly too. He looked at Ijn their captive, wondering what she made of all this. Did she think this meant she was saved?

With a sudden thrilled shiver, Svanbjorn realized what Samsara's plan must be.

"Yes, you'll leave here just fine. But her..." Samsara, almost casual, turned over her shoulder to glance at Ijn. "She's not so lucky."

A few slashes of teeth and hooves was all it took. Satisfied that the mare was dying, Samsara took a few bloody bounds away and called to her Mahapadma. "And now, we leave the shining night to his dying damsel! Come!" She was already running from the scene.

Throughout the fight Ijn had been too terrified to move and had found that all she could bring herself to do was watch on in horror. For some reason now the fighting had stopped. Something felt wrong or at least more wrong than it had felt before. The hairs on her neck were prickling. Ijn looked warily at the skinwalker mare as she spoke and finally found her will to move. She took a single step backwards as Samsara's eyes fell on her but made it no further before the assault started.

She didn't scream, the sound caught in her throat. Tears, however, fell from her eyes as she dropped to the ground. She should have found the will to run before this. She had missed her chance because of fear and now she was paying the price for it. It seemed to be too much to pay.

Douglas watched as the stallion talked directly with the skinwalker. "Ohh," He thought to himself she is going to kill him. But his thought was soon put down when he saw the walker spring upon the mare. She was not only vicious but knew how to cause pain in the living as well. Douglas watched on with a new found awe towards their leader

Ironforge had expected something more of the skinwalker - he had known that she would not leave without some sort of act and yet - he had not expected her vicious attack on the mare. Even as she spoke her last words Ironforge was moving, bellowing an angry cry.

But the distance between them was far to great and by the time he made it to the wounded mares side the Skinwalker and her cohorts were already making an exit. He had stepped in to save the mare and yet it seemed that he had failed. Ignoring the bloody bunny earred stallion who trailed behind his fellow's Ironforge focused solely on the mare who lay bleeding on the ground "I am so sorry" He told her "I was not fast enough...." Distressed he looked around for some sort of packing. He was not a healer - but one does not take part in many battles without learning at least a few tricks. Moss..moss would work, running to the nearest tree she ripped off mouthfuls of the green stuff and returned to stuff it into the mares wounds and stop the bleeding "We will find you a true healer..you will be fine" He tried to assure the mare.

Initially Ijn didn't speak mostly out of shock but also because she did not know what to say. As the stallion darted off to a tree, she rolled onto her belly to get off of her side where she had been wounded. She could feel blood trickling out of left shoulder and on the right one as well. A burning at the top of her back and sides told her that there were wounds present there as well, looking at them as best as she could allowed her to determine that these were less severe. When the bloodied stallion returned Ijn took note of the moss he carried and didn't get long to wonder over it's purpose before it was placed on her cuts. She winced at the unpleasant feeling but said nothing. It was something that probably needed to be done.

"You...you need one too. Right?" She said finally finding her voice although it shook like a leaf in a strong wind. "There...are probably some nearby..." For Ijn this was a reassuring thought even if she didn't know how much truth it held. Someone had to be nearby. She swallowed. They just had to. She got to her feet to signal that she was okay to move. "And...thank you...for helping me." His success could be debated but at least he had tried and that counted for quite a bit more.

"Yes, my wounds will need to be seen to as well" He agreed. It was relieving to see that the mare could stand - perhaps the Skinwalker had not wounded her as badly as he had originally feared - though her shaky voice made him fear that she was in shock of some sort. A healer would be a quick necessity "You were not supposed to be injured, I should have seen it coming - there was no way they were going to let you go without some sort of repercussion" On the other hand he shuddered to think about what they might have done to her if he hadn't come along. She was wounded it was true and Ironforge was sorry for it..but at least she was still alive.

"Let's go and find a healer, I believe there is a herd nearby, surely they will have one" He told her in a reassuring voice, ignoring his own pain so that he might offer her support and help in walking should she need it.
