Jack pulled out his phone and called his wife. Before doing so he looked at Kane holding his phone out.

"I am calling my wife, tell her to talk to the director, see if she is okay with this. You'd better hope she's in a good mood and is willing to not let you become buzzard food."

He pulled his phone closer to his face after explaining to Kane exactly why he was using his phone. More of a "You'd better be good for something, if not I don 't care acknowledgement.". He dialed his Rose's number and held the phone up paying attention to the road at the same time.

"Yes Jack? We just had an attack on I.O. you have Amber? Both vehicles?"

"I have Amber, yes, and Bobby. Also, I have a guest. Kane Rocknell. Please visit the director Ivana and tell her that I have another scientist, he knows a bit about these heroes and has fought them. Get together his ID."

"Got it. See you all here then. Rose out."

(( The continuing rampage of Victor Zsasz ))

Not two blocks from where Jack was, just outside the mouth of an alley, a man was readling a book. No one tried to do anything to him, as there was enough sidewalk traffic to make a scene noticed, but not enough to restrict police response. He was sitting cross-legged, leaning against the front of a building.

If anyone decided to take notice, the man's face was actually hanging too low to really be reading. It was more like he was sleeping. And the book didn't have printed words, it contained hand-written odds and bets. And flecks of blood.

The man was an underground bookie, and the blood was his own. If someone were to lift his head, they'd see that his throat was slit wide open.

((Enter Kesshou from IO Base))

Kesshou, as a single bolt of electricity, flew over the desert towards Las Vegas. She couldn't change back with with information or it would all be lost but she was starting to become exhausted. It was getting hard on her body to stay in this form for as long as she had and as she stayed in i. It would become a problem for her, possibly causing physical and mental damage, but all that she did would be for not if she changed back now.

She looked around and jumped into an electric line. At least now it wouldn't be too hard for her to get to Xavier's this way, but the issue of time was still a problem. She would have to push herself and travel twice as fast as she had to get there, leaving.

((Enter Kai, Dundee and Arell to Las Vegas via IO military truck from IO))

Kai didn't look towards Arell the whole time they were in that truck but now lights seemed to gleam through the doors and the front part of the truck. It was definitely city lights, a big city at that. Kai was relieved to know they were somewhere that they could hide very easily if need be and after a long trip of long periods of awkward silence with each other which felt to be more than an hour they were home free.

"Looks like, it's time to break out right? Or, well, sneak out."

She weakly stood up after the truck seemed to stop for a moment, the truck puffing as the breaks were eased in. Kai peaked out and saw they were at a street intersection and the light was red.

"Come on guys before they start moving again and head to the nearest alley."

Arell nodded. "Way 'head a' ya." Arell drawled. Fortunately, their truck was the back of the convoy. They could easily bail out without need for a distraction. Arell opened the door quietly as he could and looked out. "Lady's first. I'll bring up de rear." Arell growled as Dundee looked over at Kai.

"Most intelligent thing that boy's said all night. Okay, Kai. You first." Dundee said.

Kai hopped out of the vehicle quietly other vehicles behind that truck honked but she was able to make it into the alley feeling that the drivers of the truck were not paying attention. Man, a city this busy... it was like if Gotham became a tourist destination. A nice looking tourist destination.

Dundee and Arell both bailed out after Kai and got over to the sidewalk. Dundee was the first to speak up.

"Daaaaaaamn, Big Bro. This looks like New Orleans . . . but more desert-y." Dun' said with a smirk as he put his arm around Kai as Arell smirked.

"Viva Las Vegas, y'all." Arell smirked. It was amazing.

((Whoops! I accidentally put Bou in there. Right idea, almost similar personalities, but wrong Cajun! XD))

"Of course IO had to be within good distance of Vegas."

Kai looked around and it appeared they were near downtown. There were lots of people walking down the streets and it seemed that the vigilante group started gathering the attention of bystanders. A name was called as someone pointed to RC.

"It's Robin."

Her first plan of them getting into an ally was defect when she underestimated the amount of population that would be out in the light... and which city they were in. She didn't acknolage the boy her called her Robin and looked to Dundee.

"Let's go find a place to rest, then head back to the cave tomorrow."

Arell smirked. "Y'all go on ahead an' find a hotel. I'mma go get us some spendin' cash." he said with a smirk as he went off towards what he THOUGHT was a casino, getting looks and comparisons to Clint Eastwood and Crocodile Dundee most of the way. He smirked and waved as he slid over to the nearest table, putting his hat on the back of a chair and sat down.

Meanwhile, Dundee looked over at where Arell was and over at Kai. "Wonder how it's gonna take for him to realize he just walked into a Chinese Restaurant . . . ." he said with a smirk. For a big Cajun vigilante hero, he was a bit of a dunce.

"He has a way to contact us right? And I could charge a room on my Batcard. Really, Batman has it linked to his account that has a security code, the money goes through but no one will know from where."

She looked through her utility belt and found in the back of her pocket a Batcard. Luckily it was still with her after all that she had gone through. And luckily IO didn't raid her belt.

"And I'm not Robin..."

Kai said looking back up to Dundee.

"I think, Civvies are a must right now. If IO hears report of a... Robin, or whatever in Vegas they may come after us here. And we will stick out like a sore thumb. Especially Arell. Is Arell capable of putting on nice clothes to better blend in at all?"

Dundee smiled. "Of course. He may have been living in the bayou all his life, but he's got a cell phone. 'Sides . . . Arell and I kinda don't have costumes." he said with a smirk. "Hell, we ain't even superheroes, che'." he said, shrugging. "But the batcard does sound like an idea. Do you think the big dude will be okay with that?" he asked as looked at Kai.

Meanwhile, after realizing his error, Arell left the restaurant and went over into a casino, heading straight for a poker table, taking off his hat and jacket before sitting down.

"So long as we lay low and don't spend much more than just a room, and some clothes. You forget that he spends like, a couple billion dollars on his Batcar. He spends about 15,000$ on batarangs, 27,000$ on smoke pellets and about 79,000$ on grapnel hooks a month. Who can forget the BatCuff and Batcar gass budgets..."

She began walking towards downtown. There ought to be a store nearby that they could slip into get some clothes from and slip out and put it them on elsewhere.

"Sheesh, our bounty huntin' only gets us enough for food, gas and shotgun shells. Well, let's get a move-on." Dundee said with a shrug. Of course, they weren't accustomed to having such a large budget for work. He walked alongside Kai as they got around to what looked like a big store. Of course, with all the signs and neon around, it was hard to realize that it was getting into the night.

Meanwhile, at the casino table, Arell smirked as he laid his money down. "Deal me in, che'." he drawled.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 19, 2012 4:31 pm

"I never used to get so much of a budget before. Although there is a cost. I have to go to Batman's fancy parties for the rich and keep checking in at the cave every once in awhile. Before Batman I was always a wondering soul. Longer than anyone could imagine. So staying in one place drove me nuts at first. But sometimes I like going back because I grew to like people, like Robin and Nightwing, more than I ever thought I could."

She smiled a little and then pulled her communicator out of her utility belt to check if it was still working properly and indeed it was. "I'll wait till we get in private to call Robin" She thought putting her communicator back.

Dundee smiled. "Sounds nice . . . then again, I was born on a houseboat and have a day job on a train. Makes me glad to stay around a while, and even better when I'm out. Hell, Arell and the Wit both are drifters, too." he said, using Kai's nickname for a certain Fourth-Wall jumper . . . who oddly enough missed the rescue.

"Do you mind? I had my OWN rescue to attempt here!"
