She gave a small laugh to his courteous gesture, giving a small bow of the head in response. Her heels turning softly upon the floor as she gratefully accompanied him in the leisurely stroll. In all truth she didn't want to go to her room and the slow stroll was quite enjoyable. She turned her head away to look around at the scenery. What is a leisurely stroll without enjoying every bit of it? And after all, a casual pace meant a slower pace, and a slower pace meant more time. And more time with Jaden? Well that was just paradise. Giving a nod to him as she repeated aloud. "Jaden." Stating that is what she'll address him as.

Bringing a hand to cover her mouth as she gave another laugh at the comment of the men in scary black suits. Her laugh faded as his question ended and her hand dropped back to her side. She shook her head and her smile revealed a bit of her teeth, and remained in casual stride with her speech. "Neither, my teacher was first told that I had been invited and she announced it in front of the class."

She gave another nod as he spoke of being government funded. Looking around in front and giving a glance around to the area. Her eyes falling upon the two military men. As her eyes met theirs she gave another friendly wave of goodbye, to which they good heartedly returned. It wasn't any secret that there wasn't a lot of money to go around and even the best minds were treated as minimum wage workers. She nodded again at her studying marine life. "Not many have been able to study this deep. I'm supposed to have an opportunity to go outside and collect various samples from the bottom of the ocean."

Her shoulders rose and dropped slightly in an invisible laugh of amusement. How she was going to be studying, sampling, and observing. It was like she was in space, just the opposite direction. Going inside the Earth instead of out. She heard him speak of not knowing much and speaking of it's fascination. She surely found it fascinating and her smile widened to reveal her teeth, with a small toss of her head she blew a strand of hair behind her shoulder.

Her eyes looking to the walls as they passed a blue haze, a fish coming up to the glass, and stopping a moment before. Frozen for a second, and then it's tail flipping wildly as it flew in another direction. A small visible laugh passing through her smile as she gave a nod to his comment of the darwin's gospel. "I absolutely love my work."

"Well if you're going to love something, what you choose to do with the rest of your life is a fine start." he gave a light shrug. "I for one, more had a line of work that aligned with my already inherent interests, than developed a love for my work itself." he seemed once more rather bemused at something. "I suppose you might say my own career was chosen for me by what I had a fascination for...that being people." he looked out the passing view-ports out into the looming ocean, his smile curving up still further.

"In all this world there is nothing more inherently mysterious and fascinating then a single mind has the potential to be. It's actually why I was eager to get a chance to come here. I confess I'd hoped to meet with the AI echo and her creator." he looked back at Sophia, his undaunted smile unwavering "A mind created by another mind...can you imagine the possibilities? Every thought process, every facet and reaction preprogramed...but at the same time the ability to learn and grow..." he seemed to in danger of going off on a passionate tangent. "This facility may be impressive...but to me, Echo herself may be the crown jewel of this operation. Though I suppose I have an slightly biased opinion, hm?" he looked back ahead in the hallway. "I surmise it would be a lot like working with an extremely intellegent child...or perhaps, a child which has been through intensive conditioning? Either way, children have always been some of my favorite case studies...they themselves are not so complex as the way they react to external stimuli... do you suppose..." he then seemed to catch himself again. "Ah, but listen to me I must sound like such a workaholic. Though must admit it's not too far gone." he seemed to muse on this for a moment, before waving the matter aside. "Regardless, let's steer the topic away before I start to gush once more, hm?" he gave a light chuckle "You're a student, are you not? The fact they selected you is nothing short of impressive. You must've write up one heck of a term paper, am I right?"

He was really just...pun intended, fishing for info, at the moment. Anything and everything that he could acquire without rattling off a list of details that he'd be interested to know. Perhaps he'd try the " tell me a bit more about YOU." after going on a longer spiel about himself again, but that was forsaking the ins and outs of navigating intelligent conversation. It was practically cheating. He'd save it as his last resort...

Sophia watched him as he spoke. The wonder in his voice when he talked about Echo. How could one not be amazed at such a thing as this? She hadn't come across any interactions with Echo yet, though she had been told she will many times during her stay here. She slipped in a comment as he gave a small pause. A shake of her head as he enthused about Echo. "I can only begin to imagine the possibilities."

She drew her head a little back, it falling slightly into her shoulders, glancing to the hallway up ahead. Her cheeks turning a slight red. Well, that was rude of me. She shook her head, attempting to wave away the thought as he continued. Watching him as his eyes danced around. Her shoulders dropping every time he stopped himself. He really didn't have to make room for her to talk in this conversation. Perhaps often the best thing of listening to someone talk was listening to their fascination of something and seeing the wonder in their eyes. Too often people are focusing on their own wonder to see others around them and see their wonder, that may very well spark more wonder in them and a wonderful new circle of sparks would occur if everyone would quiet down for a moment and listen, and watch for that spark.

She shook her head as he spoke himself as a workaholic. The words quickly forming into the hallway as her vision turned towards him. "I don't think you're a workaholic." Her shoulders rose and dropped slightly in a bit of a laugh as the light shaking of her head continued. "Merely someone passionate about their work."

She quickly turned her gaze away from him as she looked down and saw long black hair, the only thing seen from behind was rather muscular arms. And short black hair, a woman, standing next to the muscular armed person. The woman was of a bit shorter nature, and young. Even from behind that was sure. She blushed as she turned her gaze away from Jaden. She was being far too hasty to answer. Her shoulders dropping as she let out a breathy sigh. Her eyes dropping to the ground as her eyes closed in a bit of a long blink.

He pulled her out of her quick stance of embarrassment as he asked of her student nature. She nodded as he asked, and only another quick nod that followed when it was nothing short of impressive. Nothing short of remarkable. Breathing a silent sigh of relief as she was able to keep some thoughts to herself. She let out a laugh into the hall, no doubt reaching the ears of those that stood in front of them. She rose her shoulders and dropped them again in a sloppy shrug. Shaking her head as she looked to the two in front and glanced back to Jaden, as she had her eyes glance upward to meet his. "Like I said, I was invited, they said because." She paused for a moment in her speech, looking to the two in front as she cleared her throat, making it clear she was quoting the invitation she had received. "My skills and talents will be the best aid to Atlantis out of anyone in my field."

She rose her shoulders and dropped them again, her shoulders seeming to sink farther back into her arms as her eyes looked to Jaden again. Noticing the blue haze of the sea around him framing his face ever so slightly. "Whatever the reason. I'm beyond honored."

Working for the government...well it was a way to put things. He wouldn't dare to explain the ultimatum if he hadn't. Truth be told all Free really wanted to do was to put the past behind him, but with every interaction he had someone seemed to always say something that triggered some distant memory of when he was in prison. He shoved his hands into his pocket as he walked along, leading the way towards the mini-sub docking bay.

"Work for the government...yeah you could sorta say that, lets just say we have an agreement," he chided softly picking the lint from the corner of his pockets. How quaint he made it sound...it was an agreement alright...an agreement to keep his a** out of prison as long as he worked for his government. He was a little uncomfortable, but usually was when giving out information about himself. A person which gave little when it came to conversation and needed even less, at least that's what a few of his peers in college used to say about him. It was true for the most part, especially the part of him needing little when it came to a conversation. He was a bit too over observant when it came to body language and their conversation. His excellent verbal mnemonics didn't win him any popularity contests either, but still it was handy to have.

He sighed tucking the bitter memories away for later, and looked to Andrea. So this woman was a licensed doctor eh? She didn't look all that old, but stifled the thought of saying anything about it. He hated when people looked down upon him because of his age. Sure he lacked the fundamentals of everyday life, but man was he smart. He could only assume the same about the young doctor that followed him so. He only smiled at her warmly as he removed his hand from his pocket, and ran it along the cool glass walls of Atlantis.

"So tell me...why'd you agree to come to Atlantis in the first place...besides the cliche 'To further mankinds' understanding of the world' because to be honest it was the money that got me down here," he said chuckling. Free didn't really care much for the betterment of mankind. That wish had become diluted in his final year of college. He figured if people weren't looking out for him, then screw them...he'd look after himself, and try to strike it rich. It seemed that the only thing people acknowledged nowadays was wealth...so he sought out to become a rich man, but deep inside his only desire was to be seen for who he was...not for his intellect.

As they winded through the many corridors Atlantis had to offer, he couldn't help, but keep mind of all the systems Echo had already familiarized herself with. The automations system was already functioning perfectly for his prized creation, as she opened those doors Free and Andrea traversed to. Everything for once seemed to be going well. Already Free had a possible friend to kill time with, and his creation was working out better than expected. He was sure to get a compliment from the higher ups after the project.

Wade Marcotte

User ImageWade was tired of hammering on non-responsive doors that seemed to stare at him in triumph, egging him on to knock once more. Why did it feel cold all of the sudden? He had known all along that there would be few people to meet, which was all too attractive to him, but thought at least there would be a neighbour to lend a hand... or a phone. It wasn't like cameras weren't watching him at that very minute, recording every time he spoke to himself.

"What would I have done if someone HAD opened up and said hello?" Wade said while walking back to his door, self-assured that counsel was needed. "Hi! I'm Wade. Would you mind if I used your washroom? Oh thank you. I'm locked out you see, and that stupid key I lost has caused me so much grief. You're a scientist too?! I think this is the start of a GREAT friendship. Would you like to ride off into the sunset now? Splendid!"

Creating ironic and rediculous scenes in his mind was an endless source of entertainment for Wade, especially when he was stressed. Verbalizing things was just... another game he got to play, even if his opponent was himself. Being introverted, jaded and with the expectancy that others were continually idiotic didn't mean he disliked people, but that they were amusing to watch... and prod...and make stories around. Humor was one of his friends even though many never got his jokes. "How could anyone live without being a little silly?" he asked the empty hall. He did wish someone would walk out and smile at him.

Wade returned and stood in front of his door, surveying the sad state of affairs that was his splayed out luggage. He had packed very little in his rush to catch the shuttle sub, which would have waited for him if he had been late. It didn't bother Wade that he owned very little, being a minimalist meant he could focus more on his work, but right now he'd wished he packed more than one shirt. As the young man started slowly crouching to pick up his things, his eyes became fixed on the glowing red light of the locking mechanism on the door. I could build that he thought to himself, while fitting his laptop back in his bag.

Pausing to focus on his last thought made Wade realize that he didn't need a key for his room... if he was willing to break a few rules. It was clearly stated in personnel meetings that 'Vandalism was prohibited' and that the punishment would mean jail in a Federal prison. Seeing as he was the electrical engineer on site, he could easily say there was a malfunction with the lock to his room, and was in need of fixing. He had used this excuse before and people really believed it to be true. Silly People.

Taking his pocket knife, Wade slid the sharp blade along the seam of the locking mechanism slow enough not break the polyurethane gasket. Magnetic card readers were practically all the same, give or take a screw, but the good ones did not crack so easily. Many of them were armed to alarm if tampered with, which Wade had found out the hard way before. If he wanted to, smashing the faceplate would have sufficed to get to the circuits he needed... but that would have been barbaric. Instead he took his time until the faceplate popped off on its own, looking completely undamaged. Damn he was good. "Who's laughing now door!" he giggled.

"Good evening Mr. Marcotte, may I assist you with anything?"

Wade froze as the cool electronic voice spoke to him from behind. He was sure there wasn't a soul in this hallway, but turned quickly to see the woman who had just addressed him. Turning around revealed nothing... except a beautiful painting he hadn't noticed earlier, Monet.

Thinking you are crazy is one thing, but Wade KNEW someone had just spoken to him. Looking up and down the hall he scanned every doorstep, yet there was no one to be found. Maybe he was imagining things? Standing up, he continued to work on the lock. While starring into the circuits he heard the voice again.

"Good evening Wade, may I be of any assistance?"

"Yes, but first tell me where you are." Wade responded in a nervous voice. He had whipped his head to see SOMETHING this time, but still, thin air.

At this question there was silence for a moment, as though the program had to think about it. "Logic patterns suggest you are asking about my physical form, which is located within a mainframe computer in an undisclosed locating aboard Atlantis. How may I be of service Mr. Marcotte?"

Ah, so it was a program. That meant Atlantis was being monitered.

"You can first assist me by opening my door. That's an easy one right?" Wade more stated this than anything.

"Due to your breach of contract, I cannot grant you access to any locked areas. Is there anything else I can help you with Mr. Marcotte?"

"Yes, find me Free Williams."

"Hn, you need not be so humble." Jaden insisted with an encouraging air. "Believe me these people expect there money's worth, if they chose you, it's only because they knew beyond any shadow of a doubt before hand that you were the best person for the job." his own gaze turned ahead now, and before he got the chance to ask another question, his eyes fell upon two figures ahead of them about to pass through a door. "Ah!" his face lit up with a trademark bright smile. "Well, well, look who it is."

He raised a hand into the air, his tone airy and gracious, despite the slightly detectable chuckle dancing about his tongue as he called happily "Mister Williams, Doctor Lark, such a happy coincidence! And You haven't forgotten your clothes this time, Mister William's, delightful." his teasing was disguised behind an only slightly knowing smile and gracious air, but anyone who could read him well knew he was positively radiating mischievous amusement. Teasing people was one of his favorite pastimes after all, and Mister Williams earlier stunt was just to grand an opportunity to be passed upon.

He kept up his pace as he walked closer to the pair, looking sidelong to Sophia still with his bright smile. "Sophia, this is the gentlemen I was just talking about. Mister Free Williams, the man who gave creation to Echo." he also alternated his gaze. "And this Doctor Lark. If you've ever any sort've injury or illness, I can guarantee you that she can facilitate you. Both of you, this Sophia Thatcher, she's the stations Marine Biologist. My what a happy bit of serendipity that we should all bump into each other like this." he maintained his bright enthusiasm, and for the life of him, none of it was forced. This was positively his definition of a good time. All these brilliant minds about and all of them completely at his disposal. He felt like a kid in a candy store.

He admitted that it would be a shame to cut short a potentially romantic rendezvous, but at the same time he doubted that the good doctor Lark would have made it that easy of Mister Williams anyway. At his initial observation she wasn't the sort've girl to...what was the term....kiss on the first date, so he was really just changing the setting they'd become more familiar with one another. And more importantly, making so he could WATCH that setting. One might not have pinned him as a romantic, but on the contrary, romance was one of the funniest things he'd ever seen in his life. Especially when neither knew what they were doing, or even better had their own intentions crossed. And there were signs of both here. Still, still, he reminded. He shouldn't count chickens before they've hatched. He had to keep an impartial mind about this, or he'd just see what he wanted to see, and goodness knew that wouldn't be any fun.

She couldn't help but give a strange breath that joined with her wide smile at his talk of her being humble. She had done nothing but live a humble life, so it was merely a second nature. A dorm room and being fortunate enough to be one of the few college kids to know how to cook she got to eat something other than macaroni or Ramen noodles once in awhile.

She nodded at him talking of her being the best person for the job. Glancing to the ones in front as a light tilt of her head and a nod of agreement joined into his sentence. Her eyes glanced upward. I mean, her eyes glancing to the walls. look at this place. They didn't want just another college student down here now did they?

Her vision turned away from the wall as he spoke the sound of glee. Her eyes glancing upward to the hand in the air. A lovely tone emitting out into the hall. Sophia brought a hand to her mouth as he spoke of forgotten clothes, a futile attempt to hide the laugh that escaped her lips. Was this the strange encounter they had come across?

She dropped her hand from her mouth. Her laptop pressing against her left side that still hung carefully in her left arm. Her chest jutting forward a bit as she kept in the natural stroll. Reaching out for a handshake as Jaden introduced her. She gave a nod to the mention of him creating Echo. No introduction was needed for this man, his name was nearly put in bold atop the papers she had read. "I must say, your work is nothing short of remarkable Mr. Williams."

This comment wouldn't pass often through her lips, and hadn't before. But, this man, well, you couldn't help but comment upon his work. At least everyone she had come across. Even Jaden had wonder in his eyes as he spoke of Echo. Her eyes glancing back to Jaden as he spoke of the serendipity. Her lip twitching to only emphasize her smile, how sweet the word sounded coming from anybody. And especially out of someone with such bright enthusiasm. Looking back to the others as she gave a small reiterated introduction. "Yes, you may call me Sophia if you like." Her smile genuine as she glanced to the two, oh how much fun Atlantis was becoming already.

Security officer
User Image

Freya had spent the last day or so wandering the corridors looking for possible, though admittedly HIGHLY unlikely, breech positions as well as places that the security cameras didn't cover. Last thing she wanted was for this to turn into one of those freaky science fiction novels she read before bed. She imagined some huge squid attacking... 'jeeze why'd I have to pick THOSE books to bring with me!?' she thought in regards to the personal items she'd been allowed to bring. She enjoyed them but she always ended up finding her mind playing tricks on her in this maze of a place. It was hard to guage time there too. Was it day or night? She walked in front of a screen which spoke at her through an electronic voice. She rolled her eyes. "Shove off robo wall" she snapped, knowing full well it was inanimate but she felt better for it regardless. She was teased by the other members of her unit that she was just being ditched there to get rid of her and for her to be a 'token' military/security presence. She wasn't the only Military member there but then, she was the only regular soldier. She found she was quickly agreeing with them. Between non-lethal weapons, the actual security system, cameras, and the AI there wasn't much need for her. She was pretty much shoved there to keep any squabbles from getting out of hand. Thankfully, due to a big military reform and some chick raising Cain about not being allowed into certain military areas Freya had managed to claw her way into the Navy SEALs. She trained with the best of the best from all areas and didn't take crap from anyone. She herself took being assigned here as just a particularly boring compliment. They thought she could handle her own so long as someone was there to reign her in should she loose her temper.

She heard the Machine lady talking to someone up ahead. She'd been given info on everyone but she hadn't really read it...ok so she didn't WANT to read it. She wanted to form her own opinions on people. "...due to a breech of contract...I cannot...anything else?" She picked up bits and pieces of what the AI voice said. Rounding a corner and walking down the hall she spotted the person in question. One hand went to her hip as she tried not to laugh. The guy had luggage strewn about and was obviously trying to break into one of the bedrooms. She raised an eyebrow. "So, either you are the worst burglar ever, you're trying to get kicked out, or your locked out. Either way you've gone made Echo mad on the first day. She's not going to be letting you in, she's a fickle B*tch and doesn't like people tampering with her." She flashed him a cheeky smile. "At least not until someone puts in the override codes. Tell me Mr. Marcotte, which is it?" Ok, so maybe she perused the files a bit. She'd been bored dang it.

It was hard to describe Quincy's first impressions of the place she would be calling home for some time. Atlantis, a name quite befitting their surrounding both in exterior and interior. When she thought of the name it brought to mind a grand, advanced civilization that had simply been lost unto the world. With the luxuries they all had been awarded she imagined that they were truly a modern day Atlantis.

That being said it was so much more than she was used to top side. Sure the water outside was a familiar sight to a Naval Communications Officer and it was actually more of a home aboard the varies naval vessels she had been appointed to than her modest flat back in D.C. Quincy wasn't sure if she could even call that "home" anymore what with no one there to return to...Earlier that day she had arrived with the two armed military guards currently standing watch near the lobby. She knew their intended purpose but she had the sneaking suspicion that they had also been there to keep an eye on her until she was safe inside the dome.

For the past two weeks she had been considered emotionally comatose and had been cleared as a non-threat to herself and those around her. However, just being in Atlantis still felt like she was in a prison. Certainly she would enjoy her time there, doing what she was well qualified to do. That didn't make the space less confining, the cameras watching them less ominous, the sweet words of her superiors any less hypocritical. She was on her way to a new promotion - Rear Admiral - and now here she was literally at the bottom of the ocean. Having ventured straight to her room once arriving Quincy had had the brief pleasure of meeting Free Williams, the resident mastermind behind the computing system that ran through the entire habitat, though she had not said much more beyond introducing herself and heading on her way. Free had obviously been busy getting things operational so the woman took no offence to their short introductions. They would after all be living together for long enough Quincy doubted they wouldn't run into each other again that day.

Once in her room she took the chance to look around. Surprisingly it was simpler than the others might be but then again that was perfectly to her tastes. Among the fineries she found a beautiful antique vinyl player with a collection of her favorite classical recordings, sheet music collections for when she had time to herself, and a full tea service set. She wondered if the feeling rising up inside her was the feeling of "being at home". Carefully inspecting the more technical aspects of the room there was a separate round room branching off of her bedroom with a touch screen monitor circling the wall by which she could keep an eye on things as was her job, and a command box that housed the extra key cards to the facility.

As she stepped inside Quincy nearly jumped as the lights came to life and a female's voice spoke from a speaker overhead. "Hello Captain Fairchild, welcome to Atlantis. My name is Echo and I am the system designed by Mr. Free Williams." Fighting her initial shock she nodded.

"Greetings Echo, thank you for making yourself known."

"Is there anything I can do for you Captain Fairchild?"

"Please, just call me Quincy when I am not around the others if you don't mind." Looking to the command box she motioned to it. "I'd like to set a voice controlled password to the command box, would that be possible?"

"Certainly, Quincy, please state your desired password now." replied the computer and it only took a second for he to realize what she would use.

"...Higgins." It was her maiden name, the name her family had given her before she married Daniel Fairchild.

"Confirmed. Can I assist you in any other way?"

"I think that will be all for now, thank you Echo. I'm going to rest up for a bit." With that she left the room as the lights shut off behind her and she moved back to her bed where she had set her duffel bag down. It was cliché but she had only brought the five things she couldn't live without, as people might ask in a magazine poll. The first and most important was a picture of her and Daniel on their honeymoon in Ireland. Then there was the clarinet Daniel had convinced her to buy and start playing again. Next a soft white blanket that still smelled of her husband, followed by a worn Catholic Bible she had been neglecting as of late. Lastly, at the bottom of her bag her hand came to rest on a leather bound photo album that contained all of her memories of the strangers she knew to be her family. This she took out and placed on her night stand, her hand resting for a moment on the cover that read in embroidered letters "My Family."

With a weighty sigh she unpacked her meager belongings and placed them about the room as they belonged, leaving the photo of her husband next to the photo album. One might have been concerned that all she had to wear were the Service Dress Blue uniform she had traveled in but upon inspection of her closet she found it stocked with essential clothes similar to her own closet in her flat. It seemed like as good a time as any to relax and Quincy pulled out a new outfit that was to her liking and set about changing from her formal attire. Her choice was a pair of gray tweed pants and a deep green cardigan over a simple black sleeveless tuxedo top, which she was even more amazed to find that they had her exact measurments.

"Echo, I think I am going to lie down for a bit. can you wake me when everyone has arrived? I would assume they'd like to assemble and have a meet and greet."

"Affirmative." Came the response given by the same female voice from another speaker in her room. With care she hung up her formal uniform and moved to the vinyl player, selecting a collection of Mozart's symphonies and getting it all set to play before looking back at her bed longingly. Slowly climbing into her soft down bed Quincy collapsed onto her back with her head rested on her pillow. Reaching over she took up the framed picture of Daniel and stared at it for a moment.

"It still feels like you are here with me Danny...keep me safe me boyo, while I rest my eyes a bit." Quincy murmured as she clung tight to the picture and closed her eyes, letting the sound of Mozart carry her off to sleep.

Andrea glanced at Free for a moment, studying his face. He seemed to have a healthy glow... but he seemed a little nervous. Hmm. Perhaps that was something Jaden could look into... he seemed the type that enjoyed getting into other peoples heads. Snorting quietly at the thought she ignored his chiding for the most part, deciding she may as well be nice. She had the tendancy to get annoyed when others corrected her... but if she wanted to make friends - which she did - she was going to have to cool her jets.
Just a bit, at least.
Looking at him again she offered a smile, deciding she was going to make him one of her new friends... whether he liked it or not.

"Why did I agree?" She giggled at the question, remembering how she had been invited. Well, no... she had been made to join in a very nice way.
She had been packing up some boxes from her dorm room, folding up some of the papers in her cabinet and carefully placing them in the box marked Papers.
Yea... she was a bit of a organizer.
Two large men had walked in her room, both in dark sunglasses and equally dark suits.
She had glanced up, looking at them with a raised eyebrow before one whipped out his government identification badge.

"Miss Lark, we would like to invite you for something the government is taking great pride in..."

The next day she found herself being briefed then sent off to say goodbye to her family. She wasn't sure why she came... maybe because she was scared?

"Well, Free..." she paused, "I don't know. I do look forward to the future where we might further mankind, which is more then likely improbable, but... I think I was scared. Of the government, at least." She chuckled lightly, reaching up and putting her hands behind her head, "Plus I'd always wanted to do something adventourous! I've always had my nose in a book, even as a child.."
Glancing at him she flashed a warm, friendly smile, suddenly jumping.

"Free, Mr. Marcotte is looking for you."

The warm friendly voice of Echo filled the area, Andrea's hand suddenly gripping Free's bicep. The voice had surprised her. Blinking slightly she released her colleuge from her grip, blushing in mild embarassment.
"Uh. Sorry. She surprised me," she said quietly, "Isn't Marcotte the last name of... um..." she couldn't remember who, so she finally said, "Doesn't he work here?"

ooc ; fail post is fail.

Wade Marcotte

User Image Wade cursed himself as the security guard smiled and walked in his direction. Getting caught red-handed was humiliating on its own... let alone being caught by a pretty young woman. As she walked closer the man reverted to his teenage-self, worrying about what he looked like, how he smelled... Not that it would actually matter to someone in her position. She was an enforcer hand-picked to do this project... which meant she was probably Chuck Norris, regardless of that smile. Thinking of the best way to explain the situation, Wade decided to have the woman speak first.

Having the woman Sum up EXACTLY what had occured in a joking fashion eased some of the stress Wade had been feeling. If he was submissive enough, maybe he could convince her to give up one of the override codes to open his door, as he really needed a washroom at this point. Stepping closer and putting on his best puppy face, Wade played a game.

"I am locked out." was what wade chose to answer her questions with. "I if had to do it all over again, I would still be standing in front of you... really needing to pee."

An unexpected giggle came from the guard, which was a nice sound to hear over the silence he'd been used to for the past half-hour. If he could make her giggle, than he could most certainly make her laugh! Wade was a funny man, and decided to win her over.

"That locking mechanism is why Echo hates me right now." Wade said while pointing to his door. "If you had not come and saved her, than I would have broken a circut within and broken part of her heart. Would you mind keeping her heart intact and let me in?"

The guard didn't giggle this time, but still smiled as though the cheesey humor was working. Small mind guessed Wade, hoping his charm was working. "I'll even put her back together now."

Stepping back to the door, Wade took the faceplate in hand and placed it back on the lock. Feeling redeemed, Wade turned around and asked the question that was burning. "Can you let me in now? I guess you know who I am already, and for that I am glad. I really do have to use..." Wade trailed off while starring at the guard.

(OOC: Okay...everything is fixed and whatnot, so now we should be jumping into post order. From here on in, stick to post order or gtfo= get the frick out)

Free was surprised that his little group was growing, and smirked a bit feeling slightly uncomfortable. Here he was about to go and make a friend, and poof, all up in smoke. He sighed at the young man's tease, and ignored it promptly, but bowed courteously in introduction.

He examined his two new arrivals closely taking in every detail about the two. Pushing a strand of his long black hair behind his ear, he turned about to face his growing group. "Okay...so not only am I the creator of the A.I. here, but apparently I'm a local tour gui..." the final word in his sentence was cut off by Echo.

"Free, Mr. Marcotte is looking for you."

He smirked at the interruption, and fell silent before answering. "Echo, it is customary to wait until one is done talking before interrupting. If it's an emergency then apologize for interrupting then state whatever you needed to relay," he said in a scolding tone.

Echo's voice almost seemed sympathetic as she apologized. "It's okay Echo, you are after all only..." he peered at his watch, "Twelve hours old, and you still have much to learn. Tell Mr. Marcotte I'm a bit..." he paused and looked back at the three standing before him. "...preoccupied at the moment," he finished smiling at everyone with a warm smile. The smile, as genuine as it seemed, was all a lie. He rather despised crowds of more than two members.

Perhaps he had grown accustomed to just being by himself for so long, either way, he was stuck now, and he wouldn't let anyone know his true distaste for the situation he was in now. What was the saying he always heard from that happy go lucky prison guard...ah yes...fake it till you make it.

"I would say that introductions are in order before we take our grand tour, but it seems everyone has become somewhat acquainted, and if not, I suggest you speak as we move along," he commented as he continued walking along towards the mini-sub docking bay.

"I see that everyone has also met my creation Echo. She is here to help each of you with your needs, and will grant you access to certain areas here in Atlantis depending on your security clearance. All you need do is ask, and Echo will do her bests to accommodate," spoke Free as he spoke in awe of Echo.

"I'm happy to be at your service," spoke Echo in a kind mannerism.
