Humm. He wasn't sure he should answer that question. Frost frowned, quietly debating it with himself. It was still possible that Star was a spy, sent to gather information. He had said a fair amount about Galactic, and his ire seemed genuine but he could just be a good actor... but it wasn't like he couldn't see out of the windows. "The desert," he replied eventually, "I don't think I'm at liberty to tell you more than that just yet, but in a week's time I would be more than happy to.... Though as an executive I imagine you'll be briefed on all manner of things by higher ranking persons than myself, and privy to information that I am not."

"Mmm.. I suppose that's true..." Star agreed, peering at passing rooms. "I'm curious to know if-" Star's next question was interrupted by a flare of red light at his hip. With a loud pop, a Starly appeared.

"Star!!"

Star's arms seized up in the middle of the fluid gesture he'd been making. "I told you not today!"

"Starly Star!!" The defiant bird flapped ahead of the pair.

Star snarled and ran after him, "Get back here you don't even know where you are!"

Frost looked from the bird, to Star, back at the bird, back to Star. What had he accepted responsibility for? Giving a resigned sigh Frost ran after the pair, taking a dusk ball from his belt, just in case the little bird needed to be subdued. "Mister Star," he called, "do you require any assistance there?" Thirty seconds to sort the situation out himself, or until the bird looked like it might get in somewhere it shouldn't before he intervened; he felt that was a fairly generous timeframe.

Star considered his Pokémon. The hall was too narrow for Scream to fly, and the Pidgeot certainly couldn't catch Sky on foot. And Wheatley.. ...well.

"Sky you have ten seconds before this man's Pokémon subdue you!"

When the little bird refused to obey, Star huffed and slowed his pace, "Fine, zap him."

Frost nodded swiftly to Star. "Very well." Without a pause he released the pokeball's occupant, filling the corridor with the horrible otherworldly screams of slightly over one hundred spirits. "Persephone," Frost called as the cloud of spirits swirled up out of the keystone, "use Hypnosis." With this order given he let Skiron out and gestured down the hall once the Glaceon had manifested. "Quick Attack down past them, if Persephone misses then take it down with an Ice Beam."

With a cackle and a soft chirrup respectively, the pair of pokemon carried out their instruction.

Luckily for Sky, the first attack launched at him proved effective, making the ice beam unnecessary. As the spiritomb's manipulative spell shimmered down the hall, Sky's wingbeats stopped and he tumbled to the floor, asleep. He skidded a few feet, stopping just in front of Skiron.

Looking annoyed, Star stalked down the hall after the little bird. He plucked a ball from his belt and recalled him. "..maybe you'll listen to me next time."

Frost raised an eyebrow and called Persephone back, allowing Skiron to remain where he was for now as the poor ice type had been shut away most of the day. "One hopes it - he? - is intelligent enough to learn from his mistakes. The next lesson might be a little more painful, especially if we're around anything important and delicate."

Giving another soft chirp Skiron trotted back up the hall, falling into step with Frost just to one side. "What other pokemon do you have?" Frost asked as they headed for the door that led into the first section of the tech department. "Are they better behaved than that one?"

Star rolled his eyes, "Sky is newly acquired and has yet to learn his place. He will. Any injuries that befall him on the path to that lesson are his own fault." He clipped the ball back to his belt, alongside two others. "The only ones of consequence are the one you just met and Scream. My Pidgeot. There won't be any problems from the latter." He considered how to describe Scream, "In some ways he's more like an extension of myself than a Pokémon.." Star said this thoughtfully, then eyed Frost, "He's very well-behaved."

Frost nodded and glanced down at Skiron, and for a moment the slightest hints of a smile tugged at his lips. "There is much to be said for a good and loyal pokemon."

With that sentimental moment out of the way Frost returned to business and pushed open the doors to the lowest security area of the tech department. "Welcome," he gestured around at the large room, "mainly reception and admin in here. I imagine we can ask for a tracking device at the desk over here, can't say I have ever needed one before."

One of the nice things about his new position was that people were much more helpful than they had been before; he might not be the most observant when it came to people but he didn't miss the blatantly obvious things such as that. No longer was he the odd obsessive little blond man who worked on vehicles, no, these days he was Agent Frost the Mechanics Liaison to Elite Agent Hayes. It was a good feeling.

Star glanced around as he followed Frost into the tech department, "What do you build here?"

"We have various different sub-departments," Frost replied as he moved towards the desk he had gestured to. "Mechanics, which is my area. We do vehicles, manage the base's power systems and such. Robotics, who do the obvious, and also cross over into vehicles with some of the more interesting systems... the Yanmega jet which we appropriated from Galactic, for example. Then we have computer hardware, and software with coders and hackers. Weapons, naturally, and various other sundry and cross departments."

As they reached the desk Frost nodded to the grunt behind it. "We need a tracking device for Star here, one to be worn on the wrist if you would be so good, not an anklet or a collar," he said briskly. "Are you able to supply it, or can your direct me to the correct person to ask?"
PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2012 12:14 pm

The man at the desk tilted his head at Frost's long question, then eyed Star, "..just got anklets. Though I s'pose we could fit one to his wrist.." He leaned closer to examine Star, "His wrists look small enough, he shouldn't be able to slip it if we make it tight.."

Star frowned and folded his arms.

"I'll see what I've got.." The man shuffled away. He returned shortly after with a small black band. It had a little box on one side with a red light on it. "Here we go. Lemme see your arm."

Begrudgingly, Star offered up the spindly appendage.

The man pushed up Star's coat and shirt sleeve, then fussed for a bit. Once he had the band secured and tightened well enough that Star couldn't slip it over his hand, while not preventing circulation, she snipped off the excess band. "There y'go."

Star examined the device for a moment. He didn't look thrilled about it. "...wonderful." He pushed his sleeve down over it.

Frost raised his eyebrows slightly at Star's rather obvious displeasure. "It could be worse," he observed, "you could be confined to quarters, or to the brig." Humm, now what could he safely show him?... Well how about sometime he already knew? "I shall show you the Yanmega," he decided, "we have been taking it apart, trying to find clues that could lead us back to the mothership actually." Mmmh, mothership, he supposed that was a fairly appropriate term actually.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2012 12:40 pm

"..very well." After fussing with his sleeve another moment, Star resumed following Frost, "It's obviously a moot point now, but I can tell you it's unlikely the Yanmega would have provided any intel on the airship's location. After you took possession of it we sent it a signal to wipe all the sensitive data in its systems."

"We weren't hopeful," Frost replied, "and nor did we find anything at all in the way of data; your system wipe explains that. A wise precaution... although a frustrating one from our point of view. In any case, we have learned from its systems though not its databanks, there were some rather ingenious mechanisms in there." That engine. Yum. He would definitely be applying some of those principles to future projects if he could get his head around them well enough. It really was a terrible shame they weren't on the same side as Deimos.

Opening a door Frost stepped into the hanger that contained the gutted jet and gestured towards it. "Not quite in the state you last saw it I imagine," he said neutrally, "we'll be reassembling it soon, once I've finished with the engines.... Though I'm not sure if The Boss will ask for a, mmh, rebrand before we make use of it ourselves. He doesn't really go in for that sort of," Frost's lips pursed in disapproval, "Flare."
