Raven gave a soft nod as she watched the male who had caused her such turmoil. She watched him for a few moments, as he terrorized anything smaller than him. A strange thing came over her, as she watched him; she wasn't afraid. She shoved her emotions so far down, her heart beat was steady and rhythmic. She had a healthy amount of fear mind you, but it didn't overpower her. Raven was in control, and she was the hunter this time. She studied him a few moments longer, and made up her mind what she was going to do. Quickly she leaned over to Riddick and nuzzled him fiercely, giving him a n** on the ear and a kiss on the cheek, without saying a word she leapt up and took to the sky silently. She circled a moment, being mindful not to cast a shadow, before she found the perfect opportunity to make her move. Rayne was hunched over, having pinned a small rabbit and was tormenting it. It was safe to say he didn't know what hit him. Raven dove at him like a bird of prey, her wings folded and her legs tucked in. She didn't spread her wings to slow down, and the male took the full brunt of her weight and descent. Her teeth dug into the back of his neck as they rolled, and her claws sought any flesh they could find. When the shock and the momentum wore off, Rayne flung Raven off with a guttural growl. With a twist in the air, Raven landed facing him, a chunk of his fur hanging from her maw, which she spat out. Rayne registered what happened, and burst into laughter, looking quite amused by this turn of events. "well well well, if it isn't the freak. Come back so I can even out your scars then eh?" he taunted with a wicked grin, his tails flicking "freaks always come back to Rayne. Always eager to prove themselves. Is that what this is about freaky? Hmmm, eager to prove yourself?" he began to circle, and Raven followed suit, never turning her back on him, or taking her eyes off him. Rayne just grinned. "and what have you to prove?" she asked him "your own family has disowned you. Your beloved grandfather cast you aside and took in the pale one, Kaale. Is that why you hate everybody different, because every single one you've met is better than you?" she watched his movements, he became twitchier. She had hit a nerve. Rayne growled and dug in his paws, springing at her, she spotted the shift in his posture and prepared for his impact, she leaned back with his momentum and with her back legs firmly and forcefully connecting with his groin she sent him flying over her into a tree. She rolled over and wasted no time in going back in, making sure he couldn't get his legs under her to push her off she went to work on him. Biting where she could and getting blows in where she could. Rayne growled and using his considerable strength pushed her off. "you should have stayed away freak" he growled, blood dripping from his maw freely. Raven was breathing heavily, but only had a few minor scrapes. So far so good. "a few fancy moves won't help you" he growled as he lunged at her, she dove to the side but he clipped her wing, causing her to cry out in surprise and pain, he clamped down but she kicked him in the throat causing him to let go. He righted himself and lunged again, Raven tucked her wings in close and caught him full force in the side, sending them both tumbling into the bush. Rayne took the opportunity to tear into her, biting everywhere he could reach, he took a chunk out of her wing and she howled, kicking at him, she connected with his hind leg throwing his balance off and giving her a chance to work out from under him. She moved away with a limp, having landed on her back leg awkwardly, she faced him still, spitting out blood. Rayne faced her after pulling himself from the bush. He looked less amused and more pissed off, this wasnt how it was supposed to go down. He sized her up once more "once a freak...always a freak" he said with a growl as he charged at her, he went down low, and caught her off guard, flipping her onto her back with a yelp. He was on her in an instant and she was sore pressed to fend him off, she was clinging to consciousness, having hit her head on the tumble down, she could feel the blood pouring down the back of her head. He could tell she was weakening fast he grinned, enjoying the moment "you put up a good fight freak, but in the end all freaks fall" he laughed "and this time your friends aren't around to help you..." he growled as he pressed a paw to her throat. She managed to tear his ear, and cause him to yelp out, but he didn't move from her. "if you weren't such a freak, I might take more than your life...but the very thought of you revolts me" he snarled, pressing down on her throat, and leaning close to her. "farewell little freak"

A blur of black and peach with a streak of silver slammed into Rayne from the side, flinging him from Raven even as teeth aimed to sink into his shoulder and a paw aimed to slam as hard as it could into the demi-vampire's collarbone. He'd tear one or break the other if he could, hopefully both. Riddick might not have a strength quite up to par with Rayne's but it was still beyond normal ken.
He also didn't have something to prove, just to protect. And he was more than willing to put a very final end to this fight if he could. Rayne had a real killer on his paws this time, not some timid animal forced to fight back or a girl trying to make a point.
As such he also wasn't going to stop there, and aimed a jab at the most thinly padded area at the side of Rayne's ribcage, hoping to break something. He also did his best to slash across the side of the brown male's abdomen with his hind foot before the shock of his attack wore off. He'd rip the b*****d open, given half a chance.

Rayne yelped as he was bowled over by Riddick, not expecting such an experienced attack. He was bit, his collarbone made a sound no bone should make and his ribs erupted with pain. He moved away from Riddick and eyed the other male. Rayne might not be a nice kitsu, but he was smart enough to know this wouldnt end well for him. He growled and moved slowly away. "keep the little freak" he spat, wincing as his ribs throbbed again. He glanced over at Raven, who wasn't moving, he smirked "or what's left of her" he laughed, ignoring the pain this time. He disappeared in a swirl of mist, his laughter echoing in the air.
Raven indeed wasn't moving, she had the wind knocked out of her and the combination of the choking and the blow to the back of her head didn't help her situation.

"She's stronger than you are." Riddick stated to the retreating mist, waiting a moment longer than it was gone to be sure Rayne was gone. His instincts said it was clear for now, unlike earlier that evening. He turned then and went to Raven, checking her injuries and that she was still breathing. He gave her a gentle nudge with his muzzle then, and started blowing gently in her ear. "C'mon birdy, we need to get you cleaned up so I can look at those wounds."
There was a pause before he added, "That wasn't bad for a first try..." It was soft, and he wasn't entirely sure she heard him, but he felt she deserved some sort of compliment for how well she did in spite of how it turned out.

Ravens nose twitched, and she stirred gently at his attempts to wake her. She let out a groan and in an instant everything flashed back to her, she came to with a hoarse gasp, her eyes shot open and she tried to scurry back from Riddick, not knowing Rayne was gone. When her eyes focused, and she saw it wasn't Rayne standing over her, she instantly relaxed, and regretted the sudden movements. Raven hurt. She gingerly rolled onto her stomach and managed to balance, having only one leg out of commission. "well....that went better than last time..." she said with a soft grin, her right eye starting to swell a bit, and her voice raspy from being choked. All in all she wasn't too badly injured; a nasty chunk missing from her wing, a rapidly swelling right eye, her back leg was landed on badly but wasn't broken, a few minor scratches down her front, her ribs were sore from when he landed on her. The worst one was the blow to the back of the head from the rock, she had lost a fair amount of blood from it and concentration was getting difficult. "that, is probably not a good sign" she mumbled, her eyes going out of focus again.

Riddick placed himself at Raven's side, underneath her uninjured wing so she could use it to hold on to him as he started to lead toward a shallow part of the nearby stream. "We'll get you cleaned up and I'll have a look at you." He helped her arrange herself where she was lying down on the pebbly stream bed with her head propped up on a rock so she wouldn't inhale any water if she blacked out for a moment again. Then he began wetting his paws in the stream and running it through her fur to dislodge the dirt and blood that was stuck to it. The water was likely colder than was comfortable but... that would actually help to slow down the bleeding, as well.
The scrapes and bruises would heal on their own, her twisted leg would be all right if she stayed off of it and kept it limber with some careful work-outs. The gash on the back of her head, however, could probably use stitches at least, and likely meant a concussion. The hole in her wing he didn't even know where to begin treating. "I hate to ask if of you birdy, but Alc once told me you gals have a sister who can heal somehow? We might need to see her about some of these."

Raven nodded softly as Riddick guided her to the stream, the water was cold, but it felt nice, almost numbing. She tilted her head so she could watch him as he tended to her. As he mentioned her sister, Raven raised an eyebrow and shifted her position now that she was clean and debris free. She gave a slight wince as she moved her leg. "I wouldnt even know how to get ahold of her...I know i can 'call' my mother...but i dont know if that would work for her as well. Its been so long since i've seen any of my sisters.." It was true, she hadnt had contact with any siblings since shortly after becoming adults, they all went off on their own adventures she supposed.
"If we could...get ahold of her, im up for it...this headache is killing me" she said softly with a grin. Her head swam again, and she decided to rest it back down on the rock again, her eyes still on Riddick.

Riddick finished washing the grit from Raven's fur and rather abruptly pulled his shirt off, dunking it in the cold water from the stream before using it to apply gentle pressure to the wound on the back of her head. "Give it a couple of minutes, this ought to help stop the bleeding." He canted his head at her after her reply before shrugging. "And it can't hurt to try and call your sister, right? If nothing else you can get a hold of your mother and then she can bring her out here. It'll probably be as fast or faster than me having to head out to find something to stitch you up with. That and I don't really want to leave you alone in case dumb-a** decides to head back here and push his luck."

Raven gave a soft nod, and when he got close enough, she nuzzled his neck gently. "I dont want you to leave either." she said with a soft smile. "I can give it a shot, i'm not entirely sure how to call to them...but i guess it will be instinctual, thats what my mom said." She tilted her head, and closed her eyes, falling within herself, as she focused on her long lost sister, she 'called' out to her, focusing all her thoughts. She continued on with this for a few moments, before she opened her eyes again, she felt tired because of it, and assumed it had gone out, to someone anyways. "I think its done?" she said softly, as she leaned against Riddick, being mindful not to get blood all over him. "I'm sorry today didnt go as planned..." she said lightly.

Riddick shrugged, petting her gently. "Today was planned?" He grinned slightly, then looked to the skies. "I guess we'll just have to wait a while and see if anything happens."
Though Riddick was already considering how to carry Raven back up to the cave it actually took no more than twenty minutes before a glowing dot appeared in the distance above the trees, rapidly resolving itself into Valefor's lantern. The illuminated Aeon wasted no time circling for a gentle landing and backwinged powerfully several yards away, the wash of air from her wings even enough to whip Raven's hair and Riddick's clothing around.
Turan was clinging to Valefor's back and dropped with a worried cry almost before her mother had actually touched down. She darted over to Raven's side, the pale white glow of magic stretching out to her sister before her paws could reach her.
Valefor followed behind, examining the area and Riddick with the eye of a worried parent and an unhappy guardian spirit. She knew Riddick was not the cause of the situation, but she wasn't sure what had happened or what part he did play. She turned to her daughters, demeanor softening visibly. "...Raven?"
Riddick decided to keep silent and let Raven explain. She had rather more she needed to say than just to tell her family what had happened tonight, really, and now that they were face to face it wasn't really his place to step in. Not yet at least.

Raven gave a soft smile as her mother and sister showed up, her tails curling around Riddick, as if just touching him was support enough for her. "Mum, Turan!" She managed to sit up a bit more, still leaning against Riddick. "I can figure this looks kinda....not good. Uh...Mum, this is Riddick he's my...uh...well...He started off as my trainer you see, helping me with that and somewhere along the way i ended up falling for him..." she bit her bottom lip, and looked up at the male she had developed very strong feelings for. They'd never really talked about where they 'stood' but the more she thought about it, and about him...well, she didnt want to get too far ahead of herself.
Returning from her silent thought process, "Anyways...I've been staying with him for the last while and earlier today Rayne passed through here...It somehow made sense to me to confront him. So i did. It...didnt go exactly as planned, but it wasnt as bad as last time...and i'm pretty sure after Riddick stepped in, he wont be coming around anymore...So um...yay?" she shrugged gently and then winced, still sensitive apparently.
"I'm sorry i havent been home...i just....i had to find myself. And i couldnt do it with everyone fussing over me, and treading softly like i was still a wounded bird..." She finally looked up at her mother, biting her bottom lip, hoping that Valefor and Turan would understand her logic.
Even though Raven didnt understand it fully herself. Maybe thats why she didnt say goodbye, she wouldnt know what to say to make them worry less so she just...left. As if that made things better.

Valefor sat a bit stiffly, trying to take all of the information in. She couldn't help a searching stare at Riddick, which the male returned cooly, finally raising a slow eyebrow. "You already know we did, momma bird, you can stop looking at me like that. Raven's big enough to make her own decisions."
Valefor gave Riddick a blank look of surprise at his bluntness, and Turan stifled a giggle at her mother's posture. Mask or no she knew Valefor well enough to tell, and it wasn't every day someone caught Valefor flat-footed in a conversation! That made Valefor chuckle and relax a bit. "Well, you're honest about, I'll grant you that. She is old enough to decide if she wants someone, yes. But you'd better be up to the task, sir, because if you break her heart there are a lot of people you're going to have to answer to."
"Wasn't planning on it, momma bird." He paused, and grinned wolfishly. "Though I'm certainly up for a challenge if you feel like it. All the peace and quiet gets a little boring from time to time."
Valefor snorted and shook her head. "Well, we'll see. Maybe." She turned to give Raven a long and searching look before she sighed, deflating slightly. "I won't lie, a large part of me wishes you hadn't gone, dearheart. But you needed to find your own way out of that darkness, and for all we were trying to help I fear we simply kept dragging you back into it. I am glad you have found your own strength, dearheart, and... I hope you'll forgive us all for being so blind." She smiled beneath her mask, tilting her head coyly to the side. "I hope you will deign to come home sometime soon, as well... you'll have baby siblings to greet soon, I'm afraid. Your father and I are... trying to do things a little better this time 'round. I'm sorry you and your sisters had to deal with our mistakes the first time."
Turan heaved a sigh and shook her head, trying to clear it as the white magic glow finally began to fade. She'd been focusing on healing Raven so much she'd missed most of the actual conversation, and was responding more to the body language she'd seen. "I hope your'e feeling better, Sis. You should be able to get up and walk now. It'll probably be tender for a good while... new nerve connections, and all, they'll take a while to get used to... well... feeling." That done, she proceeded to give Raven THE BIGGEST HUG, never mind all the mud and blood she was getting on herself in the process. She hadn't seen Raven in so long and everyone had been worried! That needed hugs, no questions asked.

Raven raised a brow, and then couldnt help but giggle softly at the interaction between Riddick and her mother. Family reunion's would be interesting in deed, she mused to herself, then she gave a smile to her mother "Thank you mum. I should have said something before just leaving but...i was afraid if i said goodbye, i would have lost my nerve to leave. And if i never left...well i would never have met Riddick" she smiled at him as well, and licked his cheek just before Turan tried to re-break her bones with the hug of doom. "Tu!" she giggled and hugged her sister back "Thank you, both for coming. I wasnt sure if you would honestly, its been so long....and...really mum?! More kids? Thats amazing, congrats!" she said as she smiled at her mother, and leaned against Riddick again, feeling much better after Turan did her stuff.

Riddick remained quiet again, though he smiled faintly at the affection from Raven, and rested his chin on her head after he was sure Turan wasn't going to knock her over any further. Valefor found she approved of his quiet affection and decided she would give this a chance... for Raven's sake if naught else.
"Once, I can't say I was not upset that you left without word. We all worried something had happened to you again, though your father and I didn't really feel as though it had. But I do understand, dearheart. I imagine we would have made it nigh impossible to leave even if we hadn't outright tried to talk you out of it." She sighed, but then laughed again at Turan's antics. The little "cuddlefluff" as Ifrit had taken to calling this particular "niece" always seemed to know how to brighten a mood.
Said cuddlefluff furrowed her brow and began protesting almost before Raven finished speaking when the winged sister expressed her doubts about their willingness to come to her aid. "We'll always come, Raven. Always always! Not coming would, would... no!" Tears welled up and she resisted an urge to squeeze Raven tighter for fear of hurting her again. "You're my sister. Why wouldn't I come when you needed me?"
She could also break every heart in the area when she got upset, Valefor noted with affectionate exasperation. "Turan is right, dearheart. We'll always come for you, never you fear for that." She watched Turan for a moment longer and smiled again. "I daresay we know which elder sister is going to spoil this batch rotten, hm?"

Raven nestled against Riddick, a content purring coming from her, as she watched her mother and sister. "Well, a while ago Dad passed through here, looking for me. He ran into Riddick, but he didnt tell him that i was here. I think dad kinda knew though, that i was, and that i was ok" she gave a soft nod.
At Turan's promise of tears Raven put her paws up and chuckled softly "Ok ok ok! I was just...i dont know, i guess i got my head knocked a bit harder then i thought. You're a pretty great sister you know that Tu? I think everyones going to spoil the little ones when they come. Although with Tu teaching them the ways of the big watery eyes...we may all be doomed" Raven grinned, her sister was always so positive and perky. Years ago, Raven would have given anything to be like that, but now, she was actually content to be herself. Scars and all.
