That sounds like fun. Rio liked the sound of that very much - playfulness was something he appreciated, certainly. When I go, should it be like this, or do you think it would be better if I pretended to be mortal?

Mortal, most definitely. D'Angelines are not accustomed to seeing anything besides well..humans. He let the lock of hair go and leaned in to kiss Rio's cheek. Though, you'll probably attract plenty of attention regardless. Really there was no probably about it handsome men always attracted attention! It certainly was a good thing Rio wasn't shy.

I've never tried to pass for mortal before, much less D'Angeline. You'll have to teach me how to behave. As Leo kissed his cheek, Rio closed his eyes and pulled his power in, until his wings disappeared and his ears were rounded and human.
I don't think I can change my eyes...do you think they're too strange a color? The marks and red streak in his hair could easily pass as tattoos and dye, at least.

You don't need as much schooling on the topic as you might think. He leaned back a bit, wondering what Rio was up to but the changes were obvious enough. Wow. He let out a breath he hadn't even realized he'd been holding. Not so strange as you might think, purple eyes are common in a few D'Angeline families. He snuggled up to Rio again and snuck an arm around the god's midsection again, his fingertips tracing lazy circles on his back.

Still, I wouldn't want to do or say something I shouldn't. There are little things you probably take for granted that I might get wrong. I could embarrass you terribly, he cautioned with a laugh, arching his back a little. That felt very nice.

I wouldn't worry about it overmuch; its mostly a dance of politeness and respect with those you don't know. Once you do, things get a bit easier. He smiled, shifting to sit up, his hand on Rio's back drifting upward toward his shoulders. One lesson I know you would appreciate is how we greet one another, when in public anyway.
Its more popular with women than it is men and tends to vary a bit depending on how well you know the person. He pressed a light kiss to one of Rio's cheeks then the other. That is for friends. Another set of kisses at each corner of his the god's lips. That is for those...somewhat more than friends. He resettled himself into his previous spot, cuddling up again. Those less than comfortable with that generally kiss hands or embrace.

Nn, I do appreciate that, he purred, wrapping his arms around Leo and leaning back (not having wings did have some benefits). He'd be happy to simply stay like this indefinitely, really...which may or may not have had something to do with how he didn't seem to get much done from day to day.

Hehe...anything else you wanted to know about in particular? Leo squirmed a bit to get free of Rio's arms for a moment, tying his hair in a lover's haste knot before getting comfy again. There we go, that's better. With it pulled back some there was less chance of it tangling, which was always a nightmare what with it already being wavy.

Hmm... Rio was comfortable, content to consider the question awhile before answering. I'll need a story, I suppose? Unless you'd rather I be a mysterious stranger. He could do that fairly well, he was sure.

I could get away with saying you are a patron. That's believable enough, its not like I haven't left the city before to meet with one. It hadn't happened often, one or two times since his marque had been made; when a noble had contacted him to perform at a party out on their estate. As for coming back, well, perhaps you were coming into the city anyway so I came along with you.
He hmm'd thoughtfully. A minor lordling would be believable...but from where? If he were from any other house the story of him being a patron would've been enough, but the other residents of Eglantine were naturally curious and tended to ask more questions. He studied Rio's face while he went through what he knew about each province's residents. Eisande, maybe...
Ah, spinning stories another specialty of Eglantine house!

Whatever you think would be best. You are the expert, after all. Rio watched Leo while he studied him, thought about who he should be - it would be interesting to hear what he decided.

One look at you would be enough to tell you aren't pure D'Angeline though. He brushed his hand across Rio's chin, the beard would be a bit of a giveaway. Facial hair was very rare among D'Angeline men; most had none at all, it was another gift of angelic heritage. Marsilikos, the capital, is a port city so most anything is possible. That's enough of a story, I think.
Leo scooted up and pressed a kiss to Rio's lips. The only other question of any concern is how long I'm contracted for.

I don't look like I'm descended from angels, hmm? Rio teased, before softly returning the kiss. There were other details he'd have to ask about - if his having 'tattoos' would be odd, for instance - but they'd have plenty of time to figure everything out.
I suppose 'indefinitely' isn't an option. How long do contracts usually last?

Leo seemed a little surprised, and quite flattered by, by the 'indefinite' possibility. Such a contract was quite rare, if not unheard of, at least among those Servants of Naamah in the Night Court. Anyone he'd ever heard of who stayed with a patron for that long often ended up a spouse or more commonly a consort or lover. Hopefully his blush wasn't too obvious; he wasn't sure he was quite ready to explain that concept just yet.
Most of mine haven't been more than a day or two. Though I'm sure a handsome lordling could persuade me into a longer engagement.

A day or two, hmm...that certainly wouldn't be long enough! Well, we'll have to account for the time you'll have been here, so that would be two weeks already. Another week or two, perhaps, or would a month be odd even for a handsome, persuasive lordling?
