"Well, I was ordering food for myself and I was coming to see you too so I just thought...why not." He shrugged, though he released Yin's hand readily enough when it looked like the weremantis was ready to let go, even if he didn't exactly want to and did it grudgingly.

He opened up his other hand, looking again at the badge that Yin had given him. He wasn't exactly sure what to do with it at the moment, though he was fairly sure it would be safe in his pocket and then he could find a better place for it once he got back to his room. So, he deposited it there, while listening to Yin ask if he wanted to join him.

Well, that had kind of been the point. He hadn't intended on just bringing Yin a bag of food and then just leaving.

He wandered over to the bed and stood beside Yin, watching with bemusement as the other boil attempted to open the brown paper bag with one hand. "I think I would like to stay and eat, yes. And I don't mind sitting on the floor, but it's up to you" Though that reminded him faintly of that stupid imp demon TG and his demand that Alex eat off of the cafeteria floor like some kind of pet. But he really didn't want to accidentally mess up Yin's bed with food, especially considering how dirty and clumsy Alex could be.

"Do you want some help?" he asked, though a little reluctantly. He didn't want to seem like he was implying Yin couldn't do it himself but...with one hand? The weremantis was struggling.

If he did insist on doing it himself, however, he would find two containers within, as well as some paper napkins (hey, those would have come in handy earlier with Alex's bleeding neck!) and plastic forks and knives. One container held cooked meatballs, probably gone cold but there was a chance they still held a little warmth, and the other, which was more obviously for Alex, brain noodles.

How was Yin to know that the zomboil had not devoured fistfuls of food, delicious food, before coming over? Other than the fact the the zomboil's clothing was actually clean. Still, the weremantis was being awkward enough trying to get everything out of the bag that he finally had to give up and tuck the badge away. "No, I have it. The bed is more comfortable, so we should just go ahead and make use of it?"

He pulled out the contents of the bag, trying not to grimace at the sight of forks and knives (really, why did people use those torture devices?), napkins, and finally the food. He seated himself on the bed, scooting back until his back was against the wall. "But please, feel free to make yourself comfortable in my room. I am just afraid there are not too many options in here for you." There were two containers and he opened the first one to see...he was not sure what they were exactly, but they were the same color as brains. Alexander's perhaps. The second one contained meat rolled into balls, which certainly smelled more delicious, but he would wait and see which one Alexander took first just to be certain.

There was someone else also interested in the food, and Princess Eva's nose was twitching far too much for her to consider leaving the boils alone even longer. She jumped from her bed to...her larger bed, making her way toward Yin and the food with a hungry glint in her eye.

Alex stood back and let Yin finish what he was doing, feeling very unneeded at the moment. His gaze swept the room so that he could see that indeed, there was no where for the zombie to sit other then either the floor or the bed, which he remembered from the last time he had been in Yin's room. When the weremantis was finished digging everything out, and had sat against the wall, Alex shuffled to where Yin was sitting and reached down to grab the first container, and a fork as well since eating brain noodles was quite messy with ones fingers alone.

He then debated where exactly he should seat himself. Yin had told him to make himself comfortable in his room, but it was like Yin had said. The most comfortable place was the bed. What Alex really wanted was to scoot in next to Yin. Alex liked being around others, and he enjoyed physical contact possibly quite a bit more then Yin liked to receive it. Mindful of this, he decided to just sit on the bed facing Yin, and so he climbed up, and sat with his legs crossed, putting his container of food on his lap and watching Princess Eva as she jumped onto the bed and made her way over towards her owner.

Alex was guessing she was going to be getting a lot more cuddles then he was. Always.

Oh well! He was in far too good of a mood to care about things like that, anyways. With a happy smile he started in on his late dinner, digging in with his fork and twirling the 'noodles' round and round till he had a good sized portion he could shove into his mouth. When he had the mouthful chewed and swallowed, he spoke. "It's good, do you want to try some?" He held the container out in a gesture of sharing rarely done by a zombie from large family that ate what they could get. "Are the meatballs ok?"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2012 2:25 am

Alexander took the container that he had thought he would take, but then took something far, far worse. A fork. Alexander never ate with a fork. That meant that he would probably have to eat with a fork too. Somewhat dismayed he picked up one of the eating utensils and the container of meat. He eyed the food, trying to figure out how to eat it with the plasticware. The best option seemed to be simply...stabbing it and biting.

He was more self-conscious than usual as he began to eat, glancing up to watch the zomboil as he bit into the food that had been brought to him. It was now cold, and the flavors certainly different than what he was accustomed to. But it was fairly good. It actually rather reminded him of pizza. Princess Eva was eyeing his food curiously and he glanced around before gabbing a lid and carefully breaking off a portion of meatball to set on it for her. "Hm?" he questioned, glancing up. "Oh, no thank you, I know how much you enjoy brains and this dish is quite tasty." Indeed, Princess Eva seemed to be enjoying what he gave her so he put some more on her lid. "Thank you for bringing dinner with you Alexander, we very much appreciate it. Would you like to try these?"

Princess Eva decided not to argue, the food at least was welcome, even if the boil who brought it was pressing his luck by staying so long.

Yin realized belatedly that the conversation was just so...normal. Ask about food. Offer food. Compliment. Perhaps he should try to add something else. But what to bring up? He certainly was not going to ask about his week, if he did than he would than likely have to answer the question himself. "How is your mother doing?" he managed finally. At least he was making an effort.

Alex, upon realising Yin wasn't going to accept his offer, sat back again, putting the container back in his lap with a nod, and scooping up another forkful to twirl into a giant ball and consume. He nodded as he swallowed it down, and waved off Yin's thank you as well as his offer to share the meatballs. It wasn't that he didn't want any, but he didn't feel right taking any from Yin if he didn't take any of Alex's food in return. "No no, that's fine. I've got enough here. And it was no problem, really, like I said I was ordering for myself anyways and just thought you might like something too." It would be nice if he could buy Yin things and just have the weremantis accept them without question, but even with being bonded now Alex wasn't sure that he would.

Had anything really changed at all?

He hadn't really been too bothered by the lack of conversation during meal time. After all, this was a time to fill ones mouth with food, not for chatting. Though Alex's mom tended to like to talk during dinner, so it wasn't as though Alex wasn't at least accustomed to answering a question or two between bites.

"My mom? She's...ok." Alex honestly hadn't even talked to her since asking about making the mini pet treats for Princess Eva. He hadn't told her anything that was going on between he and Yin, for once not seeking out her advice at all. He wasn't even sure he'd tell her anything now, because he was worried about how she would take it. He knew she liked Yin, and even approved of him. But to have to explain bonding.....He knew she would think that Alex rushed into something that he wasn't prepared for. Best to just keep it to himself for now, unless she asked him directly if anything was going on. At least, until Alex got more of a feel for what this all meant.

"She's a little unhappy, I think. They decided to send the twins away to a private school, for uh....well, let's call it troubled ghouls." Troubled as in crazy and violent? Yep, going with that. "So, of course, now more then half of her children are gone and it's just..hard on her, I guess." He didn't really like to think about it, because he knew that he himself was part of the reason she was unhappy. She hinted a lot at how nice it would be if he would just come home, but he always just tried to change the subject.

Alex stirred his fork around in his food slowly, suddenly not feeling as hungry as he had been a few moments before.

Yin stayed silent, letting Alexander talk as he slowly devoured his food, though he kept a careful eye on Princess Eva. And he began to relax even more. This was nice, and normal, which was mainly what he had hoped for. Just to be able to have a reason to stay by the zomboil's side. He could work on the "something more" that Alexander wanted later, but for now he just wanted the simple joy of being together.

And had Alexander just said they had sent the twins away? That sounded nice. But Alexander looked restless, and was not really eating his food. "Perhaps you should arrange another visit home? Nothing too soon, but something that she can look forward to?" He suggested after a minute while he put another morsel on Princess Eva's lid. Of course, he could be wrong, and Alexander may have just been tired of his brain dish. He speared a meatball and quickly moved it over to Alexander's container, figuring that if it was over there the zomboil could eat it and not worry if Yin wanted it or not.

Princess Eva finished her meal and carefully crawled into her boil's lap, possibly shooting Alexander a victorious look as she curled her tails into a comfortable position. Yin was still her boil first and foremost. Then she felt silly. Surely she did not felt like her boil's pet was any competition compared to her!

"I was thinking about it, and I did tell her that I would be home to visit again sometime in the future." Alex had left it fairly vague, though he was thinking he would probably return home again when classes ended. But that meant a month or more away from Amity....and possibly away from Yin as well, unless he came too.

He was still staring down at his food with brows furrowed in thought when Yin deposited a meatball in his container. Alex looked up, slightly amused at the weremantis and deciding that it would be rude not to at least eat it now that it was there. He stabbed it on his fork then twirled it so that it was wrapped in brain noodles before shoving the whole thing in his mouth.

That was actually....incredibly tasty. He made a mental note to order some meatballs for himself next time he got the craving for brain noodles, because what he just put in his mouth was possibly the most delicious thing he'd ever eaten outside of his mom's cooking.

And yes, Alex saw what Princess Eva was doing. He even caught the look she gave him. He just smiled back at her and reached forward towards her brand new bag of treats that were sitting in the middle of the bed. "I forgot to tell you that my mom baked some home made pet treats for Princess Eva. I'm not sure she likes them though." He teased, knowing full well that she did, after having seen her eat one already.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2012 12:41 pm

"That is not the same," Yin argued back as the zomboil ate, and apparently he seemed to be enjoying the meatball. "If I told you that I would see you sometime in the future it does not mean much, and there is nothing to look forward to. But if I made plans to see you on a specific date than you would know that while you may see me before or after that date I will be there." He tried not to think too much about the time when he had not shown up for a meeting with Alexander. "And I would know that if I could just wait until then I would see you again." This probably was not making much sense. "So if you just tell your mother a date, or even if it is a week that at some point during that week you would go home, it may be easier for her."

Yeah, probably a rather pointless argument right there, which was why he was grateful to be distracted with Princess Eva. Treats? He did not wait for Alexander to get one out for her, he reached across and opened the bag to draw out one of the crowns, an amused smile flashing across his face before he brought it back to hold in front of her.

Well, if this was how the zomboil was going to play...he could keep right on teasing in her book. Princess Eva delicately lifted the treat from her boil's fingers, though she wound up having to sit up to really eat it. Oh, she liked them alright.

Alex listened, and drew his hand back as Yin just went ahead and grabbed one of the treats himself to give to Princess Eva. He sat back and thought about what Yin just said, and while he understood what the weremantis was trying to say, it was just because Alex didn't want to commit to a specific time yet that he hadn't answered his mom.

"Ya, you're right. I just need to decide when would be the best time to go home again, is all. I can't give her a date until I know for sure what I want to do. I could go for another weekend, but once classes are finished...well, I'll be expected to go home for weeks until classes resume. Do you..have any plans for what you're going to do when classes end?"

Alex had nearly finished his meal now, and scooped up the last few bits of brains to consume, chewing on them slowly before putting his plastic fork in the container and setting it to the side, waiting for Yin's response.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2012 1:39 pm

Wait...weeks? Classes ending? Just...the look on the weremantis' face could only be described as confusion. He had never went to a school with such things as semesters and vacations. Some days they had been taken to class, some days not, but never growing up had there just been some sort of "here, take off all of these weeks and come back later. The information was startling to say the least. And Alexander would be gone for all that time? He had not enjoyed going eight days without seeing the zomboil, much less weeks. Weeks as in multiple. And he had not said a couple.

"I did not realize that there was a break like that," he freely admitted. "Will the school stay open during that time?" If it did not...well, he had lived for a month on his own, and he could do that again. He hated to do something like that to Princess Eva, but he was fairly certain that he could take care of her well enough. It was not an ideal prospect, but nor was it distressing enough for him to not eat the last meatball, stacking his container under Alexander's. With Princess Eva sitting in his lap he would have to wait to get rid of the trash, but it could keep for a while.

Content, Princess Eva decided to be magnanimous enough to let Alexander show Yin what a good pet he could be. So, treat finished she stood up and made her way over to him, grateful that she was starting get past the underlying smell as he had been there long enough.

Alex could only assume the school would still be open, though he honestly never thought about it since he knew once his classes ended for the semester he would just go home and then come back when things started up again. "I think so. I mean, probably. If it is and there are classes I want to take I can always just go home for a little while and then come back..." He was more musing to himself with that last part. He really didn't want to have to be separated from Yin for an extended period of time. 8 days was enough, thank you very much.

"But..uh..I mean, if you don't have plans, I could always see if it would be ok for you to come and stay with us? If you would want to, anyways, of course. I know that last time things didn't always go really well but...." He was struggling with words again, and he knew he was. Oh look, Princess Eva was wandering towards him. He decided to just leave that sentence unfinished and reached out see if she would let him pet her now, or if she would growl at him again as she had done earlier.

He just hoped she didn't get the strange urge to clamber all over him and grab ahold of his tie again. That had been awkward, ending in unpleasant.

Alexander might go and come back fairly quickly? Yin probably would not argue for him not to do that. And the next thing he knew Alexander was mentioning the possibility of him going back to the Van Rotte family home. Even if it was just a day or two during those weeks and weeks of being separated Yin wanted to just tell him yes, that he if he had to he would willingly stay locked in his room the entire way to avoid his sisters. But he could not make such a demand.

Or…could he? Now that they were bonded could he be that selfish? Everything had certainly not gone perfectly that first trip, but he knew what to expect now, and he got along with the majority of Alexander’s family, or so he thought. He watched as Princess Eva graciously allowed Alexander to pet her. “I believe that I would enjoy seeing your family again,” he said hesitantly. “But only if you would wish for me to visit. I know that you probably did not get to spend as much time with your family as you would have liked last time because of me.”

Princess Eva let him pet her, glancing back at Yin to make sure that her boil saw what a perfectly behave rabo she was. Anything that went wrong with her and Alexander was obviously the boil's fault.

So Princess Eva was going to let him pet her now? He couldn't help but feel like if Yin wasn't around, that might not be the case. Though, of course, Alex couldn't really fault her for being weird around him earlier. He had, after all, come into Yin's room when he wasn't around, and she may have been feeling territorial and protective of the dorm room without her owner around.

That's what Alex was going to tell himself for now, anyways.

He stopped petting her, and put his hands back in his lap while he listened to Yin's response. "Of course I'll want you to visit." Or, you know, stay the whole time. "But that's a...a while away from happening yet. We can talk about it more when it gets closer."

He wasn't quite sure how to address the last part of what Yin said. It was true, Alex hadn't been able to spend as much time with his family as he probably should have. But should have and wanted to were two different things. "I spent is much time with them as I wanted to. I invited you because I wanted to spend time with you, and I enjoyed it, very much." Minus the photo incident, but at least that had only spanned one night, and they had been able to work things out the next day.

Alex found himself wondering how late it was. He hadn't exactly gotten himself over here in a speedy manner after taking so long just getting ready, and then he'd had to wait for Yin to arrive. And then they had talked...

He glanced towards the window, seeing that the pumpkin sun had indeed gone down, and that it was dark outside. Yin was probably going to want to go to bed soon, and Alex, while not really wanting to leave, also didn't want to interfere with the other boils sleep schedule either. Especially considering how hard he was always pushing himself with training, and how early he got up in the morning.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2012 5:10 pm

Princess Eva moved off to go curl up on the pillow, and as Yin watched her a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, not so much because of her for once but because of what the zomboil in front of him was saying. When he looked up the zomboil was glancing toward the window. He followed his eyesight, noticing for the first time how probably late it was. He had been so distracted that it honestly had not occurred to him. If Alexander was searching for the time he was probably ready to leave, and perhaps needed to be somewhere.

He carefully scooted around Alexander to get to the edge of the bed and began putting everything back in the bag that the zomboil had brought with him to take out to the trash. "I am sorry, I did not realize the time." He glanced down at the bag in his hands. "You are welcome to stay as long as you would like, and when you are ready to leave I would like to walk you to wherever you are headed," who knew what horrifying things could be out there at this time. Perhaps something with rainbows or glitter. "I just need to dispose of this, I shall just be a moment?" As he had spoken he backed away until it was just a few steps to the door and then he was out, darting down the hallway to find a trashcan before returning to his room.

Alex waited for Yin to be finished tidying up before easing himself off of the bed as well, hopping on his good leg and holding on to the edge of the bed to remain balanced as he tested out the mobality of his skeletal leg by bending it at the knee a couple of times. It had stiffened up from sitting cross legged, but was loosening up nicely so he stood up straight, smiling to himself at Yin's words. Before he could respond the weremantis was out the door and gone.

It amused Alex that Yin wanted to walk him wherever he was headed, which at this time of night would only be back to his room to study. But he also said that Alex could stay as long as he would like...

Hmmmm....

The second Yin returned to the room, Alex asked, very innocently and without a hint of mocking in his tone. "What if I didn't have anywhere to be until morning? Would I be allowed to spend the night here?" He then laughed a little bit, to show that he wasn't being completely serious, though apparently he wasn't finished talking either.

"I don't have anywhere to be, and nothing important to do. Unless you count sitting in my room doing just about nothing for the rest of the night." Sometimes not needing to sleep had it's advantages, but most of the time, especially since coming to the school, it meant that Alex got to just sit around alone all night.

"So really, it's your choice when you want me to leave. I'm not going to ask to spend the night or anything, and I don't want to keep you from getting any sleep. Just let me know when you want me to go and I can go."
