"Well, for a fighter like you, I guess I can't have it too easy...can I?" Hector playfully remarked, a lighthearted chuckle flowing over his thin lips. "That wouldn't be fun, now would it?" A contented sigh left Hector's lungs as he ever so slowly righted himself into a standing position, towering over the small girl. The sinister-looking eyes lodged in the man's head had a particular twinkle in them. No one could tell, but somewhere deep inside his black soul, he was glad the slave was here. He genuinely thought she was perfect. Feisty, but not uncontrollable. Cute but not over-the-top gorgeous. Young, but not too young.

In a rare moment of kindness, he offered a hand to help the poor girl up. With this he asked, "You know...I can't seem to recall your name. What was it again?". The tiniest bit of a genuine smile made an appearance on his mouth, but would vanish as quickly as it came.

Ciara felt the weight lift from her body and took a big lungful of wonderful air. Lifting herself up she stood in front of him her head low. She ignored the offered help with not more than a glance wanting to keep the last dignity she had left. Pulling her arm close to her body she inspected it ever so slowly flexing her arm.
"I am Ciara," She kept the words simple not adding more that came to mind. She had a talent to just anger the masters more with her little remarks.

Tilting her head she looked at the master from under a strand of hair. She frowned slightly as he smiled wondering what game he was playing now. It could consist of any type of humiliation and she was sure it would come especially after their deal, but the longer her eyes lingered the more she seemed to pick up something else. Ciara wasn’t sure what but knew it was there.

"Ciara...hmmm..."
Hector mumbled to himself, "...a pretty name to go with an equally pretty face.". His outstretched hand relaxed again at his side, seeing as the girl got herself up without help. "Since you have given me your name, I suppose it is custom for me to reveal mine. I am known as Hector Celsus. However, you shall refer to me as 'Master'."

He noticed a strand of hair obscured a piece of her face from his gaze. With a gentle brush of his leather gloved hand, he pushed it aside, taking in the magnificent view of her pristine face. Gently cupping her chin in his hand, he gently asked, "Why do you frown so much, Ciara?".

Ciara stepped back from his light touch with a flinch but straightened up standing still as a soldier would in front of a officer. I will never call you master. She looked at him with her deep blue eyes trying to make her frown disappear defensively.
"Why do you always have that disgust in your eyes?" Her gaze roamed over him hoping to have struck some kind of nerve but not angering him. She would feel bad enough in the morning without needing another beating. She might be good at hiding it but he did get to her.

Her flinch at his touch did not escape Hector's watchful eye. It appeared that she was scared of him...or at least jumpy around him. "Disgust? Is that what you see in my eyes, girl?" he questioned her, "If that's so, your judgement is quite off.". The tone of his voice was dismissive, but he was contemplating what Ciara said in his head. Did he really look disgusted? Maybe cranky or stern, but disgusted? No, that couldn't be. "Aren't you going to answer my question, Ciara, my dear?". He was trying to change the subject, not knowing exactly how to answer her question.

"I frown because of situations. It’s nothing but a facial expression and means little." It was rather amusing seeing she was having a conversation with the master she despised. It was probably a good thing to keep him talking, after all no harm could come from it. Her mind wondered as she took him in wondering how he worked and what was his interests. Surely there was more than just playing with slaves that made him happy. If happy was the right word. She glanced at his hands for a split second before looking him in the eyes again her amused smile disappearing to be replaced by a serious look.
"What happened to your previous slaves?" She knew it was a fruitless question knowing little would come from it. Then only did it struck her how stupid a question it was. She was only advertising herself to be scared when it was her curious nature that spoke out.

To his astonishment, the girl in front of Hector explained herself quite articulately. That was not something he expected. Sure she was a fighter and a pretty woman too, but to have some brains on top of that? He considered himself lucky to have such a rare find.

The quick glance at his hands did not go unnoticed by him, and a thought crept into his head. Did she know what these hands could do to her? A quiet chuckle could be heard coming from his throat. The ideas he had dancing in his brain amused him. There were oh so many things he could do to her with just his hands.

Ciara's question about his other slaves snapped him out of his blissful state and abruptly brought him back to reality. His tiny grin was immediately replaced with a more-stern-than-usual face. The mere mention about the others got him a bit riled up. "My other slaves? Well now..." Hector's voice was clearly unamused but he explained nonetheless, "...they were fools, and they paid the price for being such. One tried to escape, but my electric fence put a stop to that. I found his body 2 days later, burnt to a crisp. Another tried to kill me in my sleep. My hands made sure to close her windpipe until she stopped moving. My last slave died while I was punishing him. The slave traders neglected to tell me he was a hemophiliac. He bled to death. There, is that what you wanted to hear?". Hopefully she would heed the warning enveloped in this tale of his previous slaves.

A smile spread across her soft features as she took it all in. so apparently he had only three slaves which meant they lived rather long before their deaths. The first did not think before he acted. He should have checked the premises first. Not that escaping would be of any help after a promise so that would be out of the question. The third slaves’ death was just unfortunate. But the second was a noble try but underestimated her opponent as she seemed to learn herself now.
"Fortunately for you I won’t die that easily. After all you are not my first master.......or last." Her voice was taunting and daring but that was all. She turned her back on her master and walked to the window gazing outside.
"Do you have any animals in this ....... place?" Ciara felt tired and hoped chores were all that’s to be done in this dreadful place. She had half a mind to burn it down but fire was unpredictable and would not want innocents caught up unnecessary.

A coy grin flashed across Hector's face when the girl informed him of her determination not to die. 'Headstrong as always.' he thought to himself. Ciara's taunting voice neither angered him nor excited him. By now, it was expected. Perhaps she wouldn't bend to his will as fast as the others, but that was alright. He had all the time in the world to devote to her.

What suprised him was the fact that she had turned her back to him to stare out the window. No one dared to turn their back on Hector except if they were overly confident or they disregarded his power. Which one was it in Ciara's case? Her sudden question about animals broke his train of thought and left him speechless for a second or two. "Animals? Well, uh...there is a forest nearby, so I see some skitter across my expansive lawn every once in a while. Usually a herd of deer or a couple birds. Why do you ask?". It wasn't really in his nature to be curious, but this question came out of the blue. What was she thinking about?

"Deer, would be nice to see them out in the open they are so peaceful don’t you think? Did you know that a lot of predators die when they come in to close contact and don’t move fast enough. It usually ends when a kick is delivered to the rib cage. You don't hunt them I suppose or they wouldn’t come as close." Ciara kept on speaking softly and calmly about the deer as she glanced around to maybe find some kind of life outside. She kept her master in the corner of her eye just to be on the safe side as it was. She leaned over and lightly pulled open the window widely then stepped back and turned to her master once more.

Hector could see where she was going with this analogy. He knew full well how dangerous she was, but he was equally formidable. Ciara seemed to be impulsive and always on guard...that required a lot of energy and concentration on her part. She'd have to falter eventually. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but some day. When that day would come, he'd be waiting to make his move.

The male shook his head slowly and replied, "No, I don't hunt them...they're too beautiful to be ruthlessly killed without a second thought. You know..." he turned his gaze to line up perfectly with hers and a cunning smile appeared on his face as he sauntered over to her, "...they are much like you: innocent looking, but dangerous. Their beauty is flawless and their grace is unlike anything else in this world...much like yourself. Don't you agree?". By now he was planted right in front of Ciara, and his right hand slowly ascended and stroked her cheek. Even through his leather gloves, he could feel how warm and soft her skin was. The sensation was absolutely amazing. It had been so long since he'd had the opportunity to enjoy such a fine specimen.

Her icy gaze followed him with calm certainty but as he neared her she had to suppress the urge to dash away. His words sang in her ears. The way he spoke sent shivers down her spine and she closed her eyes until every sound echo in her. She liked his voice even if she could never admit it. He could make anyone break with just a sound. It was the silent command and the ruthless calm that placed everyone at risk. You couldn’t help but listen and that is when you are trapped. Ciara snapped out of her trance as she felt him touch her cheek. Her eyes opened fast and she took in the sight in front of her letting him pet her like another of his toys.
"If I am the deer you surely must be the wolf." She lifted her hand and placed it on his chest before pushing him lightly away from her. She hated his soft touch. It mislead her for caring and she wasn’t about to play her chances of survival.

The girl's actions said that she disliked him, but the softness in her eyes told another story. His voice was rather enchanting after all. "I am the wolf, you say...well, I suppose that's true. At least you know full well how dangerous I am, Ciara.". Her name rolled off his pointed tongue slowly and with an air of charm, contradicting the cunning look on his face.

Hector approached the girl again, this time draping his leather-bound hands around her delicate shoulders. He kneaded them lightly and whispered, "Come now, I'm not that bad. You know you want at least some sort of human contact after this long, don't you? Hmmm?"

Ciara glared at him and at the cheek he had to try and treat her like a lost puppy in need of human contact. She looked away from him turning her head away.
"You are not human." She said the words slowly standing still. He made her feel uneasy with him being as close as he was. If only she could deliver a nice kick to his stomach. Yes that would be satisfying but she kept still.
"What do you want?" Ciara felt her temper boiling at the slightest feel of his touch. He can be so so happy she had a collar on or he would have ceased to exist a long time ago.

The tone in the girl's voice gave away her inner feelings about Hector. It seemed she thought he was a monster. Well, that could be true...but no matter what she thought, he was still a living being, just like her. They were more alike than she would ever realize or admit. Both were strong-willed, determined and stubborn to a fault amongst other things.

The girl's question came out of the blue, and caught the man slightly off-guard. "What do I want?" he answered, "I want many things, my dear Ciara.". His hands that were on her rounded shoulders gently pushed her closer to him, their torsos almost touching. Hector leaned in close to Ciara's delicate ear and sweetly whispered, "But right now, I just want to see you smile.".

He would never openly admit it, but Hector realized something at that very moment. This mysterious girl was unlike any other person he'd been with. She made him expose his suave side. His feelings for her were verging on romantic. No other had ever done that to him before now. She had started to successfully defrost his cold heart.
