"I love Cocoa Puffs too! We're so alike Mr.d**k!" Lian shot up, her cocoa puffs finished. "And we both have black hair too! You could be my mommy!" Lian giggled and said, "I mean daddy, daddy, mommy, whatever." Lian shrugged then took off into her room. "I'm gonna get ready daddy!"

Roy smiled as he watcher her go then turned to d**k, "Sorry bout that, she doesn't really think before she talks. Don't worry, she won't call you mommy or anything, she'll forget it soon enough." Roy said turning away and eating his own cereal. "Oh!" He grabbed a bowl and handed it to d**k, "Here's the milk and there's the ceral, help yourself." He said with a small smile.

"So, d**k." Roy started, "You seem rather fond of the new Robin...y'know, just cause Bruce is back doesn't mean you had to give up the costume life and--well, I hate to break it to you but a cop is just as likely to get shot as a costumed hero." Roy looked at d**k and sighed, "I was really looking forward to running the rooftops with my little Nightwing, maybe even molest you every now and then in the sinfully tight spandex suit of yours...."

Roy looked away as if he was sad, "But I guess I'll never get to feel that again, to pull the spandex from your body that clings so nicely to that firm a** as if it were a second skin..." Roy sighed wistfully, "Oh well...." He grinned over his shoulder at d**k to see if he got a reaction.

"You are a cop..." Roy said with a grin, "That could be fun too Officer Grayson." Roy grinned, Lian ran in though and the grin faded to a happy smile. "My little darling! You ready to go to school?!" He asked.

"YES! Let's go!" Lian said before looking at d**k, "Are you coming too Daddy d**k?!" Roy covered his face. "Come on! You gotta see my new school! It's HUGE!" Lian leaped up and grabbed d**k's hand then tugged him towards the door.

"Lian! I don't think d**k appreciates being dragged around." Roy scolded.

"You don't mind do you Daddy d**k?" Lian looked at d**k with wide questioning eyes. They were the same green as Roy's and he knew he should have warned d**k about them, too late now.

Roy grinned and mouthed back 'I know.' He grabbed his keys then followed the two out. He smiled as he watched Lian drag d**k to the car, he was about to call out to remind her to look both way but it seemed d**k had it...god he loved that man, he can't believe he ever walked away from him, of course if he hadn't he would have Lian and he couldn't see a life without her now.

"Yes!" Lian shouted at the question, "Oh I know that! Daddy's gonna bring home the beef! That's what he calls it, his job is all about beef and cars!" She didn't seem to get that 'bring home the beef' was a saying, not his job. "Daddy d**k, I'll let you have the front seat cause you seem to really like daddy so I'll let you sit next to him this time!"

Lian's eyes lit up when d**k said he was a cop and said, "You're a copper! That's cool! Daddy says that cops are like superheroes, just less super!"

Roy got into the car and said, "That is not what I said! I said they don't have special powers like Superman or Black Canary. Neither do I though if you recall Lian."

"Oh....So are you a cop too daddy?!" She asked, her eyes bright.

"No, I'm a hero, and a vigilante which means I don't always follow the law while saving the day unlike d**k." Roy said, starting up the car, Lian gasped in the back seat and covered her mouth.

"You break the law daddy!" Lian gasped.

"No! No, I mean, yes but....shoot! You never ever break the law Lian, your daddy isn't perfect." Roy said with a sigh.

Lian glared at him and kicked her feet at the back of his chair, "That's a lie! Daddy is too perfect! You are daddy! Cause you stayed when mommy left!" Lian began to cry, "Mommy left me and you stayed! You're the best daddy ever!"

"Lian sweety, " He said, turning around and grateful that he hadn't pulled off yet. "My sweet girl..." He cooed, brushing her tears away with his thumb, she grabbed his hand and held it in her smaller hands.

"You are perfect daddy." She said softly.

"Shh dear, you just go on admiring cops and don't worry bout daddy okay? Will you put this off till after school for daddy?" Roy asked, a soft smile coming to his face, Lian smiled back and sniffled.

"Yes daddy, for you I will." She sniffed again, Roy smiled and turned back ahead then pulled out heading for Lian's school.

Roy grinned when d**k told Lian to mind her teacher, it was cute. When the man turned to him he shrugged, "I don't mind, do you Lian?" He asked, turning to Lian who shook her head and smiled. "Now, come on and let me take you to class." Roy said, getting out and then getting Lian out. He picked her up only to have her insist she could walk herself. Roy let her walk but held her hand, she waved at d**k then they both walked to class.

Roy dropped Lian off but not without her crying again and clinging to his leg as he tried to leave. He began crying himself as he pushed her back and told her to be a strong one for him. She stiffened her lower lip and nodded bravely, Roy hugged her and she hugged him back and then he left.

He got in the car with a poker face but as soon as he sat down and the door was closed a choked sob escaped him. "Shy cried when I left." He said, wiping his eyes as tears cascaded down his cheek. "She begged me not to go, she always does this the first day." He sobbed, he was such a manly man usually but then he got a daughter and suddenly he was a little boy again. "I'm sorry, I usually cry on the first day too." He said with a little laugh.

Roy smiled and nodded, "Yea, she makes friends easy. She's so cute and kind, everyone loves her." Roy wiped his eyes clean and laughed, "Of course you love her, she's an angel!" Roy looked up as d**k brushed any remaining tears away and he smiled. "Well now you got one whether you like it or not, Lian seems rather fond of you."

Roy reached over and cupped d**k's cheek, "I did miss you terribly." He looked at his watch, "We have an hour before I have to leave for work, which really means we have 45 minutes because I have to get read and actually get there on time." Roy began driving and said "I get off at two, and then I have to pick Lian up at 3."

"Red Hood?" Roy asked curiously, "Isn't that Joker's old name? So, someone jacked his name." Roy frowned a bit before shrugging, "I've been a hero ever since I was little bitty d**k, I'm sure I can handle myself." Roy said, pulling into his parking spot and smiling at d**k. "But thanks for the worry little bird." Roy stepped out of the car and walked around to open d**k's, he took the man's hand and helped him step out of the car then made the beeline for the house.

"I gotta take a shower and get dressed in my new uniform so you're free to hang in the living room till I come out." Roy tugged his shirt over his head and tossed it in the hamper in the living room, "Or you can sneak in after me." Roy said with a laugh, he pushed his pants and boxers down (it wasn't like d**k hadn't seen it all already anyway) and threw them in the hamper too, he then walked into the bathroom and prepared his shower.
