Ziaram

You may call me useless for the fact that I am learning swordsmanship with my left arm

Ever since he got back from Arajudia, Ziaram had been taking sometime to rest. When he heard about this event, he figured that it would be able to get his mind off from any sort of fighting and keep it on something else, so he signed himself up. He had no regret to this, even though they mentioned something about shenanigans that could ensue from it. He just shrugged the thought off and continued on his way.

When he got his item, he looked at the note that he had been given. Wear the pin and meet my date at the south gate was what the note said. He took one glance around, getting his bearings straight before starting down there. He put the pin on his shirt, then started to think about what would happen. This may not go well. Since the note mentioned something about a date, I think I know what they meant by shenanigans now. He thought to himself.

Of course once he arrived at the south gate, he took a look around. There was only one person around, so he decided to walk on over to her. "Excuse me...are you waiting for someone?" He asked, before noticing the pin on her. He glanced at it, then back to his pin. They were both a gold lapel pin, so he felt relieved on the outside. "I'm guessing by your pin you were waiting for me. I hope you weren't waiting for too long." He said.

I say that this is just another challenge for me to overcome while my arm is recovering

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. What was today anyway? It was just another day in the shop, but business was booming! Everyone was buying magical and non-magical jewelry for their special someones. Although it was a holiday and Leena even dressed in her formal attire for the Valentine's celebration, she just wasn't feeling the spirit. There was too much work. Too much of a crowd. It made her long for the days when Sparkles Jewelry was just a humble house and she was the only one who worked there.

"I need to step out for a while." She said out loud. She looked to her staff, who were working just as diligently as usual. "I'll be back later today, I just need some fresh air!" The shop owner exclaimed.

Taking a step outside her shop door, Leena reveled in the sight of the sunlight and the nice, clear sky. When was the last time she got to feast her eyes on these sights? It felt like forever, since all the orders for promotion items and magical strength enhancers skyrocketed. Sometimes she wondered if she could keep up with the fast-paced life of an artisan merchant.

Down the street by the fountain, she could see could see a couple of the Eyris locals. Leena didn't know them very well, but she could tell that the one in the cloak was not happy. For some reason, he just turned around and walked away, leaving the formally-dressed man with nice black hair all by himself. She wasn't sure what happened between them.

"By the way he was dressed though, was he waiting for the cloaked one? Oh, the poor soul, he was rejected!" Leena thought. "That really has to hurt on this day to celebrate love."

"Hey. I'm not sure what happened, but it looks like you could use a little company." Leena said to Lance, approaching him. She offered her hand out to shake. "My name is Leena! What's yours?"

◉ × Victoria × ◉

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. It had been a long while since Victoria actually had a day off. Ever since the war started, she was busy tending to the wounded from both the Eyris soldiers and their allies. There was no time to catch up with old friends. Before she knew it, news from the front came back. Most of her old friends were gone.

"I still can't believe it. All this time, I came to think of Eyris as home, but what really makes it that are the people I care about. Who's left now?" the bishop thought. Although it was a trying time for her, she had to keep holding on to her faith in St. Elimine. She would show her the way.

Today wasn't the day to be thinking of the sorrows of war anyhow! When she heard that the host clubs were putting up a joint effort to celebrate the Valentine's holiday, she wanted to be a part of it. Victoria enjoyed the classy entertainment that both clubs had to offer. Surely the match makers would pair her with someone just as classy as her.

When she signed up for the event, she was told that whoever was her match that day would wait by the castle courtyard with a pink carnation. The castle courtyard! If that wasn't classy, then what was? Taking a few moments in her room, Victoria made sure that she put on her best fancy attire, complete with a nice little flower hairpin she just bought a few days ago. The lady bishop took one look in the mirror. One was enough. She was ready.

"Time to meet the lucky, classy one for me!" She said out loud with glee. She carried the pink carnation to the castle courtyard with a feeling she hadn't experienced in a while: hope. Maybe a crazy thing like this blind date would be enough to help her heal from the sorrows of Eyris's war, and begin a new friendship, or even something more.

Iris hummed delightfully as she dressed in one of her finest daytime dresses. It was a simple tune from her youth, a soothing melody that calmed her nerves. She took the deep red rose she had been provided and pinned it carefully to her bosom, the red providing a wonderful accent to the light blue of her dress. The spectral form of Adele hovered nearby, looking highly bemused at the situation.

"Sooooooo, kekeke," she cackled. "Who's your date?"

Iris sighed. "Would you be quiet, Adele? Your continued pestering is highly juvenile. And to answer your question, I don't know! That's the point of a blind date, after all!"

"Hrrrrrrrn. Maybe you've got some kind of beefcake."

Iris sputtered. "W-WHAT?"

"Y'know. Like Tibarn! Or Skrimir! Or--"

"Shut up!"

"OR REI!"

"SHUT UP!!" She was flushed a deep red now, a similar hue to her rose. Adele cackled as Iris quickly scooped up her coat and put it on. The note said to meet her date at the Church of Paggy, and she quickly set out that direction. Adele followed close by, unwilling to miss a scene like this!

It didn't take long to reach the Church. Iris looked around. "Hm, who could it be..." There were many people around, but none with roses.

"Over there!" Adele pointed.

A blind date event. Well, things could easily turn from good to awkward in mere seconds at this rate. But Zeiss knew he couldn't back out of the event now. He already signed up for it, and he was not about to walk out of this just because of some random pairing.

He took the red rose and started out of the Hostess Club. He had to meet someone in front of the Church of Paggy with the other item, so it shouldn't be that hard. He shrugged his shoulders and kept on walking to the destination where he noticed two people that were already together. He recognized Alex right off the bat, then chose to take a seat at a different bench, holding the red rose in his hands. I guess I now wait. He thought to himself.

Iris shifted her gaze. Zeiss sat upon a bench, holding a red rose in his lap.

"Kekeke... that's the dragon rider."

"I know!" Iris hissed.

"I think he's your date."

"I KNOW!" Iris shrieked. Once again, though, she had forgotten she was in public, and she turned red again. "Just... just hush, okay?!" She scooped her dress up slightly so it wouldn't drag against the ground and hurried over to the bench, plopping herself down upon it.

"So..."

"Nice to meet you, Clara!" Tiki replied. Though her smile faded when she saw Clara's surprise and connected it to her nervous tone. She paused. Did Tiki do something wrong?

"...Are you okay?" She asked, sounding a bit concerned. It wouldn't be good if her date was sad even before they started doing things together. She held out her red arrow in front of her. "We're supposed to spend the day together, right?" She didn't think this was the wrong person, and she saw nothing wrong with spending the day with another girl. Besides, Clara looked like she was nice. As far as Tiki could see, there was nothing to be nervous about. After all, Tiki wouldn't do anything bad to her date friend. Maybe Tiki could cheer her up a bit from whatever was bothering her.

"Should we do something fun together? What do you like to do, Clara?"

It was today. Today was the day Sunil was finally going to make some new friends! Hopefully his luck would give him the romantic kind of friend, but considering how luck like to slap him in the face from time to time, he didn't want to get his hopes up.

And of course, his luck already started off horribly. Out of all the places he could have been asked to stand in front of to meet the person he was gonna hang out with, it just had to be at the building that housed his worst enemy. He grimaced slightly at the steam coming out of the entrance of the building, his sharp ears picking up voices and splashing from within.

That's right... he had been asked to wait outside of the public bathhouse.

Hopefully he could go the day without having to get wet... and hope his partner didn't want to have a bath in the bathhouse too. It would get his black top hat wet, and... they might have to return the items in the same condition they got them too.

Whew... it looked like things went smoothly for the Host and Hostess Club after all. Roy stuck around to make sure that he wasn't needed to help clean up or anything like that. It was nice seeing familiar faces in the audience. Made him less nervous talking in front of a crowd. Granted, he only had a couple of lines, but he envied Ganon's calmness talking to the crowd as a whole.

With item in hand and no work for him to do, the redhead headed out. He half-wondered what sort of 'date' he had, and if it was someone he knew. The young lord didn't want to get his hopes up though. Considering the larger number of male applicants in comparison to females, there was a pretty good chance that he would probably end up partnered with a guy. Maybe he should have cheated and made sure he was paired up with a girl. No. That would be unfair to everyone else.

He had soon reached the marketplace fountain, wooden spear in hand, before he took a look around. Sure enough... the person was already there, holding a similar wooden spear.

It was a guy, by the looks of it. And it was one he didn't recognize.

Roy mentally sighed before walking up to D'Rias. "Hi there. Looks like we're partnered up." he said, giving the spear a small twirl around his fingers as he spoke. "I don't think we've ever met. I'm Roy. You are?"

D'Rias
Location: Eyris

The white haired shaman looked up, the only hint of surprise at the gender of his “partner” showing in his raised eyebrows. A strange festival indeed. Clearly his guess that it was more a social event than a romantic one was correct. He set the spear down on the fountain next to him and stood, taking the opportunity to stretch his legs as he did so. He nodded to the red-headed man calling himself Roy.

“My name is D'Rias. This is my first time time in this city, or at a festival quite like this one.”

Granted the actual result of who he spent the day with was irrelevant. He had no interest in attempting to find a romantic partner and highly doubted one existed that he would be interested in anyway. The weather was fair, a light breeze and the warm sun making the day almost perfect. That meant thy could spend the majority of their time moving around the city rather than needing to sit at a store or restaurant. Good. Movement gave people something to focus on when meeting a new person and was likely to make it easier for him to receive answers from this man assuming that it was not in his natural disposition to open up to strangers. The social obligation of showing around a stranger would help as well. Of course, that was all assuming that his companion knew the city at all. He folded his arms behind his back and relaxed his shoulders.

“Are you familiar with this place or a traveler like myself?”

Oh HELL naw.

Lance took his earlier thinking back. He had anticipated a lot of people walking up with a white flower on them. But THAT tiger?! He still hadn't forgotten what happened last time they met. Having to run through the streets half-naked while no one cared, chased by a giant beast, it all made him get nauseuous.

Lance visibly facepalmed as the matchup dawned upon him. The tiger certainly sounded cheery, though...compared to what Lance had expected. The tiger did not seem to enjoy the matchup whatsoever either.

But no no no wait! Lance was important now! He was leading a band of mercenaries! He had to appear to be a great person, he couldn't hold petty squabbles like this!

...of course, the tiger turning around did make things more difficult.

"Wait wait wait Raj! Hang on, buddy!" He raised his voice as he lunged towards he huge figure, placing his arm around his shoulder. "Don't get hasty here, man! Look, I know things aren't looking so hot for us, right now...I mean, I don't want to date you any more than you want to date me! But think about it!"

Lance turned Raijin around, motioning towards the crowd. "Look at all these people, Raj! Among them, there are a few--nay, dozens of people that probably won't have a partner for the day! Imagine, spending Valentine's without a lover! And out of all of those, I bet there are several, young, attractive women as well, that have been stood up by love interests, boyfriends, husbands, or that are too shy to ask someone out! Imagine!"

Lance turned to face Raijin, having placed his other hand on his other shoulder, looking into his eyes. "All those girls are ours for the taking! You and me, Raj, we'd be unstoppable! Come on, buddy, I'll be your wingman, you can be mine, we'll conquer Eyris! Let me show you how it's done!"

Lance raised his arms to motivate Raijin, but he didn't have the time to reply before a blue haired woman walked up to him, asking him if he wanted company. Lance blinked goofily a few times as he processed, before he laughed heartily. "See that! I'm like a magnet already, Raj! This is how a pro does it!" Lance pulled Leena up into the embrace with the tiger, making them squeeze together. "Come on, my pretties! Let's see who else we can round up!"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2012 4:00 pm

As Rajin was walking so he could have a word from the Host and Hostess Club, he felt somebody jumped on him.

"Ack! What the- Get off of me!" Rajin yelled as he struggled to get whoever it was off of him. As he twisted and turned, his hood fell off, revealing an annoying look on the tiger's face. Once the person was off of him, he turned this attention to see it was the bomber. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

"Don't get hasty here, man! Look, I know things aren't looking so hot for us, right now...I mean, I don't want to date you any more than you want to date me! But think about it!"

"What the hell give you the idea I want to date-" Rajin was quickly turned around before he could finish his sentence. The tiger was getting confused what the bomber was doing as he was facing toward the crowd. Wondering what was that about, he listened to what the bomber had to say. From what he said, it was mostly about Valentine's Day and how there were some people without lovers. Okay, so what? What did that have to do with him? Before the tiger could say a word, he was quickly turned to face the bomber.

"All those girls are ours for the taking! You and me, Raj, we'd be unstoppable! Come on, buddy, I'll be your wingman, you can be mine, we'll conquer Eyris! Let me show you how it's done!"

"..."

Okay, from what the tiger had listened, he concluded that the bomber was crazy. He didn't know how the bomber guessed his name was or what made him thought that the tiger would be his wingman. However, one thing for sure, the tiger didn't want to deal whatever crazy shenanigan that lunatic was scheming. He had a feeling that things would not work well.

Before the tiger could say a word to him, someone approached them. Rajin looked at the person and quickly realized who it was. It was Leena that he met at the Duke's Head. What the hell was she doing here? Suddenly, he heard a hearty laughed before being pulled toward Leena. He quickly grabbed Leena gently, catching her from loosing her balance. He had a concern look as he looked at Leena. "Are you okay, Leena?"

This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all. Whatever that lunatic was planning, he did not like it at all. And to involve his friend into this? Aw, hell no.

Rajin quickly picked up Leena and gently threw her over his shoulder. Before Leena or the bomber could say a word, the tiger made a mad dash, away from the bomber. Where was the tiger going with Leena over his shoulder? He had no idea. However, as long as Leena was safe and away from the lunatic, that was all the tiger concerned about.

Roy lowered the wooden sword, panting slightly. "Alright, I think that's enough for our weekly sparring match, Oujay. Let's take a breather." the young lord said, looking up at his training partner.

Oujay took a couple steps back and planted the sword on the ground, using it to keep himself up as he panted. "Sounds like a good idea," he agreed as he wiped some of the sweat from his head.

The next few minutes were spent in silence as the two swordsmen tried to catch their breaths. Finally, it was Roy who spoke first. "Hey, you know Valentine's Day is coming up pretty soon. The Host and Hostess Clubs are going to be working together to put an event for everyone. Are you going to take part?"

The question caught Oujay a bit off guard. "Umm...I don't know. What is the event?" he asked out of curiousity.

"It's a secret." he said.

"A secret?" Oujay felt a bit skeptical about Roy keeping the event a secret. "I don't know if I want to attent something that's a secret, it almost has 'not a good idea' written all over it," he stated as he slowly moved to sit on the ground. "I think I'll probably just stay inside for the day, maybe try to find a job to earn some cash."

"Oujay..." the young lord sighed, getting back up onto his feet. "Are you really going to do something as boring as that? Live a little, man. Do you want to stay invisible your whole life? I can't tell you about the event, but I can promise that it'll be interesting. What have you got to lose?"

For some reason Roy's statement about being invisible really got to him. "...I guess I don't really want to stay invisible," he muttered beginning to give in.Oujay pondered for a moment, thinking that ever since he became a mercenary to raise money for his family back in Ilia he never really done much besides working. The young hero gave a little sigh before he got himself back up on his feet. "I guess I'll take part in this secret event of yours," he finally agreed. Getting out once in a while and doing something else is good once in a while.

The redhead grinned. "Great! Hope to see you there, Oujay!"

Oujay stared blankly at the item in his hands and the note he was given for the blind date event. "...so this is what you guys were up to," he stated as he sighed and shoved the note in the pocket of his blue suit. He stared at the item in his hand for a moment and started walking towards his destination. There was nothing the young hero could do about it, no matter how much he didn't really want to do this he knew if he left and walked away now he couldn't stop thinking about what he'd done to his blind date.

As he kept walking, he thought of positive things to make the situation seem like a good idea. This is a good opportunity for him to get out and do something else for a change. It'll also be a good opportunity to possibly meet someone new. The town needs something like this to lighten up the atmosphere for recent events. Oujay's thoughts eventually stopped as he reached his destination to where he is to meet his blind date.

His heart started beating a bit faster for some reason as he stood there staring into the castle courtyard where a lone girl stood holding a pink carnation in her hands. Oujay stared at the pink carnation that he was holding and get a bit more nervous for some reason. Taking a couple deep breaths Oujay managed to build enough courage to start walking towards the lady in the blue dress. Not really watching his surroundings and his footing, after a couple steps in the castle courtyard Oujay fumbles and falls to the ground with a loud THUMP. Oujay winced as he raised his head seeing the pink carnation right in front of his face and then his eyes moved past the pink carnation to see the girl who had been standing in the courtyard was looking his direction. Without a moments noticed the young hero quickly got back onto his feet trying to brush off the situation, acting like nothing happened at all. Who knew Oujay was so smooth.

===============================================

After Alex helped Amelia up onto her feet, he slid the monocle back into his pocket as he had no idea how to wear the thing. It seems too fancy. Suddenly she asked him what he would like to do. Alex opened his mouth and then suddenly nothing came out of it.

"...what exactly do I want to do?"

During the process of him trying to figure out a plan to do something for the day, he didn't realize that he was also spewing out random incoherent things at the same time. However as soon he realized it, he closed his mouth hoping he didn't just make himself look like an idiot in front of Amelia.

"Calm down Alex, just be cool and calm like you always are."

he took a couple breaths and managed to calm himself down. Just then Amelia offered the idea of lunch. "Sure that sounds like a great idea!...But I don't really know what's a good place to eat around here," he stated as he slid his hands into his pockets. "My apologies again Amelia, it seems as though I'm really not being a gentleman today," he chuckled.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2012 8:04 pm

As she considered it while Alex sputtered nervously, Amelia realized she was glad Alex had ended up being her blind date. There were plenty of people involved in this, and while there were people she might've been thrilled to have a date with, if just for ease of familiarity, she was still glad to have been matched up to Alex. He was a nice person, and easy to get along with. She was at least aware of who he was beforehand, that was always a plus.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. And frankly, seeing him get so nervous about this was helping her to calm down. It was pretty funny. The General held back a laugh, though, and instead smiled. "It's okay. I think... There's this restaurant that Tibarn opened that we could go to... and there's always that little cafe near the marketplace. I got some drinks there during the job fair before Tibarn spirited me back off for bedrest." Amelia laughed sheepishly and tried to wave it off, but she instinctively rested a hand over her hip nonetheless. The wound was healed by now, and she'd recovered from the bloodloss, but that section of her body was very sensitive now. The light pink scar stretched around her hip, one end near the middle of her back and the other wrapping around just a few inches along her pelvis. It was pretty sensitive to have touched, and Amelia was fairly certain that getting it cut open again would pretty much be worse than anything she might've had to deal with the first time around. Even months later, I'm still reminded of it all.

But this was no time for brooding! She was trying to cheer up, dammit. And Vah would be absolutely crushed if Amelia didn't have a fun story to tell her that evening. "Want to at least walk that way and keep an open mind to anything more interesting along the way?" Amelia smiled and pocketed her monocle.

Judging from his appearance, he looked like a magic-user of sorts. He didn't quite have a build to use an actual weapon. More like the intellectual type, much like Rei and Soren who tended to lock themselves away to peer over their studies.

The silver-haired man eventually introduced himself as D'Rias, and it was his first time in the city, or rather the festival. Roy nodded.

"Nice to meet you, D'Rias." he said. "If you're new around here, I don't mind giving you a tour of the town. I've lived here for a few years now, so I know my way around here pretty well." the young lord said. "You up for the tour?" he offered.

While staring at the rose, Zeiss' mind shifted on over towards Mihira, since he had spent more time with her than anything else. He knew that she had entered the event as well, but had no idea if she would get paired with him or not. He hoped that she would at least get paired with someone other than Regulus. He didn't trust the guy since he was so flirty. He just thought it would be a bad idea if that guy got the upper hand over him.

He was shot out of his thoughts when he heard a voice from afar saying something, and he looked up to see Iris a few feet away from him. She seemed to be moving to him, so she was either his date or she was just wanting to talk to him to pass time. He figured it was the first one, since he eventually noticed the red rose on her bosom. Well I guess it could have been worse. He thought to himself. He wasn't paired up with Regulus.

Although he still had no idea who she was, so he figured introductions were due. "I guess we'll be spending the day together. I'm Zeiss and you are?" He asked, holding his rose out to her. They never did say what they had to do with their items so giving his rose up to his date seemed like a good idea to him.

Akihi blinked before relaxing a little. The joke, though kind of bad, helped ease away some of the tension for him. Now that the thought was brought up, he too was glad that Ephraim was his date and not a psycho. That would have made for quite an awkward experience...

He took his hand and shook it. "I'm Akihi... Kaua. I think you know my sister and my niece?" The name seemed familiar as well... or, actually, an abbreviated version. "Ephy". How many times had he heard Amara babble away about him?

"I, ah, have to admit... th-this is kind of the first time I've been on a date like this." With his free hand he fiddled with the brim of his hat. It'd be more correct to say "at all", but that sounded so pathetic. "Sorry... is there anything you wanted to do?"

-----

It was hard not to laugh when Alihi noticed Abel stumbling over his words, but in the end all she did was smile. He was still the same old Abel from before... the thought was surprisingly comforting that maybe, just maybe she could fix things. Maybe not a lot was broken at all, but whatever was she would amend. "Thanks. You do, too. ... I'm glad to see that you're doing well."

Awkward silences weren't her thing, but she quickly realized that she had so much to say that she literally had no idea where to start. And especially with the possibility of their respective dates arriving at any moment... Though it'd be nice to just get everything off of her chest now, it's not very possible. "Listen... I think we really need to catch up and talk." There was a hidden "about us" in that statement, but would he be able to catch it? "Now's not really a good time, though, since we're not each other's dates."

She paused for a moment, deep in thought. "You're still doing mercenary work, right? When do you next have a break between jobs?"
