As the trainees continued to search around the wreckage, it seemed as if whatever had caused the plane to crash had long since vanished. In all honestly it looked more like the plane suffered an unfortunate accident rather than an accident of a more magical nature. But the weapons could detect traces of Fear, so something had to have happened... but what?
In the distance a barking dog could be heard. It was the only sound they could hear aside from the wind; any wildlife in the area fled immediately as soon as the trainees descended upon the scene. There wasn't much left to do at the site. The trainees had investigated the inside and outside, and aside from the dog that watched them warily from the trees there wasn't anyone else around. Perhaps it was time to go back.

"....izzat a dog?" Ofelia paused against the sound of the wind, turning to look in the direction she thought the noise was coming from. Living on the lands like she had back before coming to Deus had alerted her always to the sound of coyotes - those things could tear up anything and everything in their path. "Sommin' is out there barkin'. Ah dunno if it's gonna get close enough fer me ta tell jus' what is makin' noise, but a dog out here in this wilderness? Ah ain't buyin' it."
. . . good job. For once I can say I'm impressed with your powers of deduction. Rue sounded slightly smug. The weapon was still delighted about that little bits of FEAR she felt, and she cotninued on. If it is a dog, then it's a dog with FEAR.
". . . .do you guys think this coulda been a werewolf?" Those were the only "dogs" with FEAR Ofelia could think of right off her head. Her knowledge of the monster world was sadly, sadly limited.

Aleister froze at the sound of the barking dog. Why would.... he stiffened when Ofelia said werewolf. "Nope, just a husky I'm sure. Time to go home." He nodded and walked back the way they came.
"Yup just a Husky. Prolly got lost from it's sled team."
<AND where do you think your going.>
"I am going back to the base, there's nothing here Puca." He said out loud he was ready to get out of there. It was as if his worries were coming true. "It's just a sled dog lost from it's team, there's nothing here~."
<Bailing on the team that you joined? You were the one that wanted to see Alaska.> Puca reminded him
"Seen enough of it."
<Caelius will be very disappointed in you. Prolly use you for bait next time.>
Aleister sighed and summoned Puca turning around and moving back, "Never mind, changed my mind. Lets go prove to Pookie it's a sled dog so we can go home." He held the chain in one hand and the ball in the other.

Before instinctively tensed and whipped around towards the sound of the barking, but let out a sigh of relief. "If it was a werewolf, I'm thinking it'd want to attack us ASAP. Just to be safe, weapons out, you two. How good are you two in a fight, Offie, Al?" The Misty asked, glancing around their surroundings in case this dog came in pairs, or worse, in packs.

Dog? What dog? There was no dog.
Unless by "dog" one means the monstrosity that launched itself at Aleister, biting and latching onto him for 5 damage.

"Sonnuva! Ali, hold on!" Ofelia quickly summoned Rue, having started to do so already when Before said something, and she charged at the creature that was now chewing on her overly timid friend.
Her swipe was only enough to get the creature away from him, but in turn it got her a nasty bite against her leg. This thing wasn't a dog, it was entirely to big to be one, yet it didn't seem to be a werewolf either? Regardless Ofelia cursed at the bite and turned back to the beast, ready to take another strike at it as soon as her companions had gathered themselves together.

The Misty grit his teeth in frustration. Should have told them to draw their weapons out sooner! Should have pushed the Deather outta the way, used Vanna to block the bite. Should have, didn't and ******** it all if he was going to just stand by and let it kill someone under his watch.
"Hey! Pooch! Over here!" he called out, trying to draw the dog's attention and getting lunged at in the process.

Aleister already had pookie out but that wouldn't've have stopped him from getting bitten. "AHHHH!!! FFF...." He flailed as the mongrel bit at him. Trying to use pookie to ward the thing off.
The death trainee was hoping this thing wasn't going to eat him alive. He managed to hit the mutt with Pookie as he swung wildly at it.
<And you were saying???> Pookie apparently had time for retorts about being right.
Aleister on the other hand was still flailing trying to make sure the creature stayed away from him.

Jesus ******** Christ was this dog fast. "Regroup! Let's try to surround it!" he yelled out as he felt one of Vanna's spikes connect with the thing. But the dog quickly retaliated and snapped at the Misty's leg, knocking Before off-balance and sending him down.

"Got it. actually, hold on lemme -" Ofelia took a dash towards the monster, offering up one of her arms. when the dog-thing got hold of it she pounded her other fist into is muzzle, a strong hit knocking it off of her. A bite was nothing bad to use for payment and her body was always strong enough to take it. "There we go! Let's take this thing down, jus' stand tagether!"
Ofelia was...having a blast. The fight was so much fun, she could hear Rue cackle in her head. They loved it, loved it so much.

"Good job, Offie!" Before cheered, using this opportunity to slam Vanna down, spikes first onto the pinned creature. But it wasn't giving up without a fight and Before felt the beast's jaw bite him one last time.

"These fists were made fer punchin'." Ofelia struck a pose, which in all regards looked pretty dumb considering her arm was bleeding from a dog bite and the blood was rolling down her elbow. It dripped against the snow, leaving little red drops as she moved, though overall the pain wasn't so bad. Ofelia'd certainly had worse and she was just glad to be getting praised. "B'for ya hit pretty strong too. An' Ali, are ya okay? That thin' went fer ya pretty badly, how are yer wounds?"
Rue warned her that this was not over, not by a long shot.

As soon as the beastie was dead Aleister scurried and hid behind Before looking around to make sure nothing else was going to try and eat him.
"I should've worn a red hood...." He muttered. He peeked around the other, "What was that thing?" Dumb question? Most likely, but Aleister was still going to ask it.
<Can we maybe get it so for once in your life time you don't panic? I'm feeling a little queasy after all that flail you did... But at least I got a taste of fear~>
"Huh.... oh uh...... I... think I'm okay." He said looking at the bite, it didn't look very good, but he could live. "Er... more... startled than anything I think." He looked at Offie with a slight, uneasy and unsure grin.

As the last blow on it fell, the canine gave one last sharp squeal before falling silent. The snow surrounding the plane was now a bright crimson; the dog had bled blood. The corpse lay still, and showed no signs of dissipating. At least it wasn't wearing a collar.
Silence once again reigned.

Before stared in mild shock that the creature was bleeding. I-it... it wasn't made of FEAR? B-but how... "s**t. When we get back, we need to get ourselves looked at. This thing might have rabies. But..." he gulped, slowly leaning down to take some fur samples for comparison between the ones they got from the plane. "Are these dogs this big out here?" he murmured.Marushii Can we go back through the portal?
