Hel couldn’t help but rub the back of her neck a bit sheepishly as he thanked her, though her attention was soon caught by well…everything. Wow! Was this really Amity? It seemed like a completely different place at night…dare she say…even more exciting too? Hel’s head whipped back and forth at all the different sights and sounds, and she immediately decided that it certainly had its own unique beauty and charm at this time of night.
Wow, look at Mot just bob and weave through people just to get them a table! Impressive. The valkyrie followed along with him, and took her seat, gazing around at all the beings before snapping her attention back to her boilfriend…where her stomach did funny things once more and she was pretty sure she was…blushing a bit. “I…I’m really happy too! But…I am always happy when I am with you…” She cleared her throat and smiled, resting her hands on the table for the time being. “Heh…I did not either…er…boilfriend that is…” She glanced at the band setting up before looking back at Mot. “…Do you play an instrument?”

"Ah, no." Mot chuckled, rubbing his neck. "I never learned to play anything. Though I did tinker with the ocarina while I was making it for you." He did not consider himself much of a player of that though, beyond testing notes as best he could.
"Do you play anything besides the ocarina? Though I already know you have an amazing singing voice." He gleamed warmly.

Hel smiled widely as he brought up the ocarina, which was actually tucked away in her apron pocket, safe in her room at the moment. “I admit I am a bit surprised.” She admitted. “I thought you might have played an instrument.”
Her smiled just widened even more with pride and happiness as Mot gleamed about her voice, and it was at this time her hands slid across the table to seek out his own, her fingers creeping underneath his (thankfully) bare palms and threaded her fingers through his own. “…I…would not mind learning how to play a harp.” Hel murmured after a moment. That was kind of a…ghouly and delicate instrument though, wasn’t it? “…Aside from that, I no of nothing else…and you have an amazing singing voice as well.”

"I feel like I'm missing out." Mot admitted sheepishly. "A lot of people usually know at least one.." Mot looked down at his hands, watching as Hel entwined her fingers with his own. A warmth filled his heart at the gesture, his fingers tightening around Hel's. His gaze lifted once again to meet Hel's eyes, as they lit and twinkled in the many lights of the town's celebrations.
"That would be amazing to learn the harp. I hear it is quite harsh on the hands though." Hel was always one for a challenge though. He could see her playing one. It just seemed very Old World.
Mot blushed at the compliment, smiling softly. "Thank you.." It felt so good to hear such things from his ghoulfriend. "I like it best when we sing together, like we did on the train." They were somewhat by themselves at the time, and while Mot had not known his feelings for Hel at the time, it was a moment he looked back on with warm fondness.

The reaper hummed thoughtfully, wiggling in delight as she felt Mot’s fingers tighten against her own. “…Ah! What if I teach you to play the ocarina?” That would be rather easy she thought! The ghoul grinned a bit. “Heh, not like I need to worry about my hands though, Motty! They have seen their fair share.” Hel’s hands had calluses, and they were toughened from how active she was and most certainly from all the training.
Her grin widened, and the reaper leaned forward more in her chair and across the table, peering up at him. “I do as well! I am of the opinion that we need to do it more often, ya?” For Hel was like a Love Bird…and nothing was more euphoric for her than singing with her Motty.

"I'd love to learn the ocarina from you." Mot smiled softly down at his ghoul. More so than learn, he'd love to watch her play.
It was true though. Hel's hands were much rougher than a normal ghoul's. While that might have turned some suitors off, it was part of Hel's charm in Mot's eyes. Even if it was a blow to his own activity, as his own hands were nowhere near as rough. Then again he was never to super masculine type. Maybe Hel had a thing for the bookish type.
"I agree." Mot nodded. Mot imagined a quiet night alone with Hel, the two of them singing every song they knew until the sun rose. Improbable, seeing as Hel was no night owl.
The band began to start practicing, testing out and tuning their equipment. A waiter approached the couple's table then, offering a smile and menu. "I'd like a coffee. Black, please. Hel?"

The reaper was just beaming. “Excellent!” She cheered. “We shall start working on it soon then, ya? We will have to make it a regular thing too, that way you the lessons stay consistently in your mind.” The ghoul wiggled in her seat again, squeezing Mot’s hands even more to convey her excitement. All the time with Mot, never not!
Her thumbs rubbed the back of his hands, and she was just beside herself with joy at their little future plans. The ghoul looked up as the waiter approached, looking a bit amused as Mot ordered his coffee, and then ordered a glass of apple juice for herself. Oh that Hel, living the high life with her apple juice. Actually, apples were known to help keep one awake…so hopefully the juice would be a good thing! “Is this your first birthday away from home?” The valkyrie suddenly questioned, her eyes riveted on the cowboil’s now.
“What was it like for you at home too? You know…growing up…did you go to school before Amityville? What was that like?” All the questions.

"Sounds like a plan." Mot smiled. He too looked forward to having all of Hel's time to himself.
"It is." Mot answered, shrugging slightly. Her next series of questions had Mot pondering for a moment. "Birthdays at home weren't terribly interesting. And yes, I did attend school before Amity. Private schools mostly. Only the best education for me." He smiled wryly. "Uniform and everything." His uniform tended to be modified to suit his own tastes, much to his mother's misfortune.
"It was rather boring. Honesty I was a little jaded before finally coming to Amity. I was worried it would be just as stuffy as my previous schools."

Hel was listening with rapt attention, leaning forward on her elbows and with a tilt of her head.
“Private schools, huh?” The ghoul echoed and furrowed her brow a bit. That sounded…ridiculously fancy. Uniforms too, eh? Hel, honestly, felt a bit like a simpleton now…and not in a good way. “…Heh…stuffy at Amityville? Nah, not at all…well…you do not think so, do you?” Mot seemed pretty happy here…all things considered. She was happy here, all things considered…even if it was her first uh…real schooling.

"No, not at all. Amity is more a home to me than any other place I've been to." Mot admitted with a soft smile. "Even if it is rather... hectic." So much danger he'd been through in the time he'd spent there, yet he still considered it his home.
The band began to play, and upbeat and busy tune that brought the people to the dance floor. Shimmying and jiving to the medley, the place was suddenly alive.

The reaper nodded her head in agreement. “Indeed!” Hel paused though, as the atmosphere around them seemed to pick up, and the ghoul found her attention drifting to the area around them for a moment. She looked back at Mot then. “…I think it is livelier now than when the pumpkin sun is out!” She grinned a bit. “How interesting.”
To think she’d sleep right on through all of this too!

"See? I told you!" Mot gleamed at her surprise, grinning widely. "C'mon. Let's dance." He stood, his hand outstretched. "Nothing tame, no ballroom. Tonight is jiving."
His Birthday, his rules. And Mot was set on making sure they both enjoyed the night life that night.

Was she ever one to turn down dancing with Mot? Hel no. Besides, it was his birthday! She abided to the idea ‘his birthday, his rules.’ The valkyrie grinned in return as she reached up and took his hand.
Enjoy the night she did…and hardly slept a wink. She’d be paying for it later…but it was so worth it.
