The Sugar Sweet Candy & Poffin Corner didn't seem like the most... elegant of places to hold a date. But the Flareon was ecstatic about spending a day there, especially with her Deerling friend. She had never personally ventured inside the sugary pink building, but she had heard of the wondrous sugary adventures that one could have in there.

"Come on!" Kelvin said to the Deerling trailing behind her. She could tell that he was hesitant about stepping into the gateway decorated with sprinkles, gumdrops, and colorful Pokeblocks, but she had hoped that her energy would convince him otherwise. Seeing that he still wasn't moving, she gave him an encouraging nudge forward. The Deerling, reassured by Kelvin's presence, started walking towards the building, and the two Pokemon took their first steps into the Sugar Sweet Candy & Poffin Corner together.

The inside of the store was just as flashy and colorful as the outside, which excited Kelvin even more. The Deerling was either impressed by the gaudy spectacle or terrified of it, as his eyes were bulging out of their sockets and he was frozen in place. Kelvin was not dissuaded by her sugar-shocked friend however, and dragged him all over the place. They marveled themselves at mirrors made of translucent candy, which caused the Flareon to drool all over herself. Then they sampled Poffins and Pokeblocks made by professional connoisseurs who had smiles on their faces as they handed the candy out to the clamoring crowd. While Kelvin gorged herself on the delectable treats, the Deerling only ate one or two but still marveled at its smooth texture and flawless flavor. The two of them bounced between stations, filling themselves with more and more candy. At least in Kelvin's case. The Deerling wasn't so much of a glutton, which clued her in on what he might enjoy more.

She dragged him to a sugar sculpture exhibit, where tiny figurines made out of sugar and candy were displayed. This corner of the Sugar Sweet Candy & Poffin Corner was quieter, but it still did not calm Kelvin's spirits. Especially since she had eaten an abnormal amount of sweets and sugar was running through her veins at this point. Still, she tried her best to keep her hyperactivity levels low enough for both her and the Deerling to appreciate the art. Each sugar statue was handcrafted and painted with delicate care. They looked so fragile Kelvin was afraid to breath on it, in fear of it disintegrating into a puff of sweetness. She enjoyed looking at the sculpted Butterfrees and Roselias, stuff that looked pretty especially when molded with sparkling sugar crystals of all different colors. The Deerling, however, spent more time admiring the more abstract pieces, shapes and curves that suggested something different every time you looked at it. Kelvin really didn't get it but since he was enjoying it, she allowed him to linger a bit longer at them before moving on.

In the center of the Sugar Sweet Candy & Poffin Corner was a giant fountain flowing with chocolate. Some of the more excitable guests had jumped in and played in the sweet liquid, and Kelvin wanted so badly to join them! But the Deerling wasn't as eager, especially since it would get his coat dirty. The Flareon gave a mournful glance in the fountain's direction every time she passed by it, and after they looked at the sugar sculptures she brought up the topic again.

"Come on! You can't say you have been to the Sugar Sweet Candy & Poffin Corner unless you've jumped into the amazing incredible super awesome chocolate fountain!" Kelvin managed to say that in one breath thanks to her sugar high. The Deerling actually hesitated, and she took that as a yes. She leaped into the chocolate pool, splashing the brown syrup everywhere, including onto the Deerling's fur. He stood completely motionless while the Flareon swam in the sea of chocolate, but his need for immaculateness won over him and he bent his neck to start licking the chocolate off his coat.

Kelvin swam over to the side and placed her fore paws on the edge of the fountain, which caused more chocolate to splatter all over her date. She helped him lick the chocolate away, to the surprise of the Deerling. But it was a pleasant surprise and he responded with a small smile.

"It tastes pretty good doesn't it?" She barked. "But do you know what's even better?" This time, she took the Deerling's silence as a no. She grabbed him by the neck and pulled him into the fountain with her.

The Deerling sputtered and flailed his legs, struggling to stay afloat. But Kelvin propped her body under him, which allowed him to calm down. She then coaxed him off of her, letting him realize that the pool was not very deep and he can stand in it just fine.

Kelvin watched his expression as he stood in the chocolate. His face was frozen in shock ever since she dragged him into the fountain, but something was churning in that brain of his. He glanced down into his ever-rippling reflection, his nose inching closer and closer to it, before he suddenly dunked his whole head into the chocolate. She gasped, then let out a sigh of relief as the Deerling resurfaced, covered in chocolate. He licked the sweet stuff off of his face and allowed Kelvin to clean him up too.

"Thank you." He said in a small voice. ""I never knew that fun could be found in a place like... this. Thank you for showing me that."

"You're welcome!" Kelvin was beaming behind the mask of chocolate. "But I haven't even showed you the best part!"

"What?"

The Flareon's smile turned into a mischievous grin as she splashed chocolate onto the Deerling. He laughed and to her surprised retaliated with an even bigger wave. With all walls broken down by the torrent of chocolate, the two Pokemon fought and played together in the magnificent fountain.

Meanwhile, a trainer stood nearby watching them have fun. Lizzie was wondering about so many things about this date. Mainly why did her Flareon think that a candy shop was a good place for a date, how did it actually work, and how much money would she have to pay up at the end of it.
