Landry pressed down harder and harder on the hold, leaning and adding his body weight into the submission. He was hoping the lack of oxygen and the strain on his back, stomach and neck would garner the submission win.

Freak couldn't stay in this hold much longer if he wanted to keep title around his waist. He throws a few wild elbows backwards at the rib and kidneys of The Innovator. A primitive way to get out of it, and probably not the most effective way, but it works.

The elbows connect and for the first time in the match, Freakshow inflicts some damage, forcing Landry to let go, but not after one more clubbing forarm shot to the back of his neck. Landry would then stand up and clutch his side.

Freak is nailed with a seal-like clubbing blow to the back of the head! He holds at the back of his cranium and begins to scoot himself away from Landry. Panting, he tries getting towards the ring ropes, which he'd use to his advantage for getting back up. Meanwhile the fans chant you suck at the champion.

As Freakshow crawled to the ropes, Landry was recovering from the elbow, and tried to time it so he could attempt a clothesline to Freakshow that would hopefully knock him out of the ring.

Freakshow looks up and see's the challenger barreling towards him in attempt for a clothesline. His stomach hurt, his back was stiff, he couldn't breath, he had a killer headache, and he had run out of smokes that morning. Things needed to turn around for him. Now would have to be the time to get that done. Like a drunk uncle Freak staggers out of the way of the clothesline, spinning around to give Landry a brisk tap on the back of the neck, his intent was to send him throat first into the top rope.

Landry was knocked off balance from the well places chop, sending him throat first into the top rope, causing him to stagger backwards, holding his neck.

Freakshow comes stumbling and bumbling out of the corner, nearly tripping over his own feet as he goes stepping around the stunned Landry. He kneels behind the challenger, and goes to hook an arm around his hip to an attempt at a schoolboy roll-up! Although Freak, ever dastardly and cunning, would also be grabbing the tights for a bit of leverage! A loud booing is heard through the arena as this transpires.

Landry gets scooped up for the illegal schoolboy and the audience gets on its feet, hoping Freakshow doesn't steal it here.
"1...2....."NO! At the last second Landry kicked out, keeping his hopes alive.

Landry kicks out! The crowd goes ballistic! But whats this? Freak keeps his arm around the leg of the challenger, turns him over in half boston crab position, and just when they think their hero is out of danger, he tries locking in a Standing Heel Hook! A sloppy one at that, but an effective, and familiar move.

Channelling Jericho, Freakshow applies his Standing Heel Hook after the schoolboy failed. He didn't see that coming, despite the fact he'd used that trick on multiple occasions. He wanted to crawl towards the ropes to force a break, but it was no DQ, and the ropes weren't going to help him now.

Freakshow yells. face red, beads of sweat rolling down his face as he cranks into the manuever! Due to his lack of experience using the submission, Landry got to the ropes rather quickly. Fortunately for the champion, getting to the ropes weren't of much use to Mike. Small smatterings of chants for Landry begin to build throughout the arena as things start to look dire for the fan favorite. This was his first substantial offensive move of the match, so he was going to try and milk it for all it was worth..

Landry heard the audience begin to get behind him after his offensive streak was cutoff by this submission. He had the ropes, but that wouldn't get him a break alone. He decided to use an old MMA trick, and use the wall of the ring to climb. Landry would go hand over hand, trying to use the ropes to pull himself up and put his free leg under him to relieve the pressure of the maneuver and get back to a vertical base.

As Landry crawls up to his feet with use of the ropes, Freaks control over the situation begins to slip from his grasp gradually. Eventually he's forced to step out of the hold, although he still keeps a grip on the leg of his opponent. Now he finds himself holding onto the leg of a standing Landry, a scenario resembling that of when one blocks a kick to the gut by catching the foot. A worrying scenario for Freak at that.

Landry would bounce on his free leg once or twice, trying to get his balance back, then leap up and turn backwards, trying to catch Freakshow in the head with his heel.
