But beyond all that, really, he was... well. Himself.

"I'll make sure to hold a demonstration, then." He said, light amusement in his voice. "Where can I find you ?"

"If I'm not here in the gardens, ask the Worldshield he would likely know where I am. I live elsewhere most days, among mortals." She turned her face to the sun again, closing her eyes and sighing a little. Her emotions got all stirred up when she thought of the Dragon King, hopefully Lament wouldn't be able to read it in her expression.

Click to show.Thankfully, or perhaps unfortunately, Tien had provided the perfect bait-and-switch to keep Akakios from noticing any telltale 'strangeness'. "Worldshield ? You know Tian Yue ?" He asked. Well, it would make sense that he would know many of the reborns, being who he was, and being as powerful as he was.

"He's my godfather." Surprising, perhaps. "I think my mother gave him no other option." There was amusent in his voice, now.

Her eyes opened again and she stole a sideways glance at him, a look that certainly spoke of mild surprise. Godfather...? Tian Yue had mentioned there were children in the Pantheon now, but he hadn't offered anymore information than that. Perhaps it had been because they were Underworld's children; that certainly would make sense.

Tien's gaze turned away from him and toward the grass instead, a small smile appearing on her lips as she spoke. "Things are many many times complicated between us. But yes, I do know him."

Biggest understatement ever! It was true at least, even if it was vague.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Complicated, hm ? A good complicated or a bad complicated ? A mix of both, perhaps, through... Well, as much as he wanted to prod and poke until she told him, like he might have done when he'd been younger, now he had the maturity to leave well enough alone, unless freely shared.

"I see..." He mused for a moment, then smiled, impish and a little too young-seeming for his physical form. "Have I earned the honor to know of your real name, or will I need to go ask him ?"

Bullet dodged, or so she thought.

"Tien." She offered, and after as an afterthought. "Though, the name of any Trickster will do."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Aha ! Was he proud of himself ? Certainly - this likely wasn't information she shared easily, from the sound of it. And now he knew.

"I will keep it hidden, then." He nodded. He didn't really understand the need, really, even if she had so many names, to keep them hidden - perhaps it was her domain manifesting itself in her personality, in a way. He had no reason to be anything but honest, most of the time - perhaps childishly and naively so, even.

Through it did make him wonder... Did he have other names, that he didn't know of ?
PostPosted: Fri Feb 10, 2012 3:51 pm

She nodded. It had always been a favorite game of hers to make others guess who she was, before she surrendered her name. He had circumvented most of that plan by being clever and that was something she admired in mortals and immortals alike.

"We could be friends, you and I, I think." Her gaze rose to meet his again and she offered her hand. A mortal gesture left over from her host's ingrained habits, no doubt. "What say you, clever not-so-little Lament?"

He said, finger-tapping against his chin in mock-thought - not realizing that he was leaving ashy spots behind. He did not get have true grasp on what the 'sweet spot' that resulted in not leaving bits of ashes on whatever he touched. Clearly his father wouldn't approve, if what Crys had told him was right, but well.

He didn't need to.

"I think I'd be willing to take the risk, lady Trickery."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 10, 2012 4:24 pm

"Glad to hear it." Her grin widened, attempting to hold back a giggle and eventually failing. It wasn't polite, but it was so silly a thing! Clearly he hadn't done it on purpose.

It took her a few moments to recover breath enough to speak. She motioned to her chin. "You've got something just there..."

Oh.

Whoops.

"...That happens." He said, sheepish, staring at his own ash-covered hands. "They weren't like this before !" He was pouting. Most horribly. This probably wouldn't help her stop laughing.

It wasn't like he could just wipe it off either, he would make an even worse mess !
PostPosted: Sun Feb 12, 2012 1:37 pm

As predicted the pout certainly didn't help things, it was childish and cute. Trickery started giggling anew. "Sorry...I...really...shouldn't...be laughing..at..you." It took a little longer to calm down after this bout, she didn't dare speak again until after a few moments of forcing herself to breathe properly. "I needed a laugh like that...though for what its worth I'm sorry it had to come at your expense."

She pulled a small cloth from one of her pouches and offered it to him. "This should help to get the ash off your face at least."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The more she laughed, the more pouty Lament became - it was pretty much an endless circle, for a bit. It became obvious that Akakios certainly did have some of his father's pride, but showed it in a much different way.

Still, he accepted the cloth and did wipe the ash away, but now there was ash all over the cloth, instead, and he frowned. "...That's really bothersome, sometimes." He muttered. He still needed to find the pressure that wouldn't end up with ashes all over everything.

"I doubt doubt it. Awful big tell tale sign you've been somewhere." She smiled, something that had he been still small she might've reached out and patted his cheek. "Cheer up though, pouty one, you'll work something out or get used to it. Whichever comes first." She hoped for his sake it was the first, for the ash seemed to irk him.

"Is there anything that requires a delicate touch than you can practice with? Maybe it can help you find a happy middle ground to avoid this ash spreading business."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The ash did irk him on some level, because it did get everywhere when he didn't mean for it to do so. He'd been surprised when he had first seen it, he had to admit.

"Handling paper, probably." Not that he'd did that since that night. One part of him was maybe, just the slightest bit afraid to reach for his power again - what if the same thing happened, and he couldn't stop ? He knew that it was unlikely, and that he was being silly, but time needed to work it's magic there.

That, and he'd been restless in a way he had never been before. He was eager to go out in the world, to explore things he hadn't before, perhaps even to prove himself to a pantheon of gods much older than he was.
