Kyndall was trying to give her actors room to breathe. She saw them in various states of panic, expecting opening night jitters without thinking too much about it. She moved through the crowd and tried to calm people where she could. To Micah she stopped and told her to breathe, that she'd been through this play dozens of times with the cast and she'd be the best Sir Gareth possible.

She checked in with her crew, wondering where some of them were and knowing others were in position already. She prayed for everything to go right. She really didn't want to have anything bad immortalized on the official copy of the performance.

Time to curtain? A mere half hour. The sets were being pulled out and she saw her stage transformed into a battlefield for the opening scene.

(( Whoaaaaaaa, that was unexpected. XD I'll just take the first roll out of those. ))

It seemed that McMahon hadn't been the only thing Ainsley shared with her sister. Their emotions seemed to have been on the same frequency as well. She was fidgety, barely able to sit down for more than thirty (30) seconds before she found herself pacing back and forth. Her eyes were up and then down, left and then right. She was looking around but no where could she find Peter.

Ainsley knew that Peter had wanted to be another role but was she not good enough to play his wife? She'd tried her best to get her small role perfect, since everyone always said there were no small parts in a play and that they couldn't be complete with even just one role missing, and now her husband seemed to be missing! Sure, they weren't in the first act but he should still be here! There was plenty that had to be done before they went on stage but she couldn't see him anywhere! All her hard work, it was boiling in her chest as a small fury swirled around in her. No one but Peter could be her husband!

"Peteeer, Peteeeeeer!" She was so upset, tears were starting to swell at her eyes. "Peteeeer, where are you?"

Despite the older man's obvious trepidation that leaked through every corner of his smile, Sir Gawain actually DID take comfort from the overzealous gesture and stitched-together grin. Mr. Darrow was a figure of respect, he was one of their guides on this endeavor, and if he was as nervous as the rest of them then that meant this was all normal. Didn't it? Yes. This was all normal uncertainty and jitters just like before any performance. His own nerves steadied quite a bit, finding calm at last before the active storm of the play.

"I think you're right, sir. This will be fun if we just get our feet moving. The head remembers fine once the body moves. " Even for those who were in the grips of last minute panic, Björn thought just moving through the motions could trigger some muscle memory of all the rehearsals. The lines would come. The character in each of them would come to life if they just breathed and set to it.

"Tonight our lines become our voices, ja?"

"With enough focus, the audience and the camera will disappear and you'll be Uther Pendragon in the heat of battle. It's only 30 minutes away. Did you want a water or something?"

Guen stared at him for a second, processing. Thank god, no disasters yet. The smeared paint had here a bit worried though - what if it had gotten on a costume? She bit her lip.

"Oh, ah. Paintbrush? You..." she faltered helplessly, brushed her hair behind one ear, emphasizing the motion. Inwardly, she sighed. He was really very talented, she admitted to herself. Maybe it was just nerves? "Um, it's behind your ear," she added for clarification. She glanced around, mentally going through a checklist. Were they prepared? Was there anything else she could be helping with?

"Can I get you anything else?" she asked lamely. "Is everything where it needs to be for when we get started? Oh, I hope the others didn't get scuffed up..."

Calm down? Micah's toxic yellow eyes flashed up at Kyndal as her lips thinned into an angry line. Calm down? Calm down when Micah was so far out of her comfort zone it wasn't even amusing? Sure, she didn't mind being the center of attention but... this... people had expectations. They had rules they expected her to follow. When she was pitching a fit about something, she was totally adlibbing it, and she was fine, but now she suddenly had strict lines to stay within.

"What did you say to me," she demanded, her voice low and her temper rising. "You... what?"

Camera?

All the color drained from Tony's face and he stared at his fellow 'knight' for a very long moment. It was as if his brain had shut off, and it was slowly rebooting as the hamster recovered in its wheel from a sudden shock. He blinked a few times, indicating that he hadn't suddenly died standing there, and then even dared to move his head from side to side slowly.

"I... I had forgotten about the camera..." he eeped out feebly, shaken. As if the live audience wasn't bad enough. They would forget, eventually, if anything terrible really happened. If he fell off the stage somehow, or failed to remember his small part. Or at the very least they would have a forgiveness to them, that would remember the people on stage were not all professionals, and mistakes happened.

Cameras didn't do that. They didn't care. They recorded everything and had a stuck up sort of attitude about it. It didn't matter what one might want to be seen: cameras captured everything. and never forgot.

He shuddered at the idea of not only messing up and ruining the play, but having it immortalized.

"I... I think I need to sit down..." he said, looking at Bjorn helplessly as his legs all but dropped from under him and he sat down on the floor right where he had been standing so assuredly, however forced it was, a moment before.

Laney, dressed all in black, hadn't had time to say hello to anyone, or even to check in with Kyndall. She was busy running around like a chicken with its head cut off: someone had set up the prop tables backwards. Everything that was supposed to be on the prop table offstage left was on the prop table offstage right, and everything that was supposed to be offstage right was offstage left. At the moment, she was currently running back and forth across the stage, handfuls of props in hand, dodging the other stagehands and jumping over the occasional piece of scenery while she tried to get everything placed properly. She was too worried about losing track of a prop to ask one of the other crew members to help.

Backstage in either of the wings, her prop tables were in shambles; what were usually orderly arrangements of objects were now haphazard piles, and at least one prop sword's blade had come detached from its handle. Laney frowned at it for a moment as she grabbed for the last few props to get relocated. Fortunately, she had worn a pair of rolls of duct tape as bracelets for just such an eventuality (though she felt embarrassed that any of the props had gotten damaged in the first place). "I'll deal with you later," she told the broken sword, then ducked back through the wings to bolt across stage one last time to drop off her armful of objects.

Less than thirty minutes till curtain -- she'd have to work fast to get her tables organized again.

"How can someone not worry? It's a good turn out, which means a lot of people." He stated, staring up at Bell for a moment.

"I'd like to read over my lines...I just need a script." He didn't want to improvise, that meant he had failed and not done his job in learning his lines and memorizing them. he couldn't - no wouldn't - fail.

Bell had better be right, he'd better remember his lines once out on stage. If he didn't...well he didn't know. He was too upset, with himself for failing to do his job properly, to think of what he'd do if he didn't remember once on stage. And as he went to find a script, he hadn't brought his, he swept about backstage looking for the needed item. The whole time his mind fuming at himself for failing.

Cast and Crew:

Where further chaos ensues

Die Roll 1 – d12 This is your current situation. You must post for it and how you deal with it. This makes for good interaction between cast and crew.

1-3 Something minor. A small rip in a costume seam. Can’t find a small prop, etc.

4-6 Something moderate. A rip on a costume off seam. Prop is mildly broken, etc.

7-9 Something major. Costume doesn’t fit. Prop is broken beyond repair. Etc.

10-12 Nope. You’re good. Nothing’s wrong. Why’s everyone else freaking out?

"5 minutes to curtain!"

Kyndall moved through the backstage area calling that a few times out loud. Really, it was the stage manager's job but she was no where to be found so Kyn was doing it. People were in various states of emotional intensity or distress but she had more things to do that just this. The people were mostly seated by now and the house lights were dim and music was playing softly.

She wanted to at least try to get the show to happen on time.

As Kyndall called for places, Laney was just finished lining up the last of the props on the prop table offstage right, where she'd be camped for the evening. One of the other crew runners was tasked with minding the table offstage left -- she hoped the younger boy, a high schooler, could mind his task with no problems. Whatever the case, she couldn't be in two places at once.

Still, she sat back in her chair and let a wave of relief wash over her. She'd averted her minor crisis, taped up the broken sword without too much duct tape showing near the grip, and finished with a few minutes to spare. The closed-circuit TV near her seat was set up, the screen currently showing the drawn curtains and the fidgety audience, and none of the quiet voices on the crew's walkie talkie frequency were for her at the moment. Everything was going to be perfect . . . as long as nothing else went wrong in the next few minutes.

Laney crossed her fingers.

He...collapsed! Björn's eyes went wide and he crouched quickly (maybe too quickly), to try to gather the olderman and slow his sinking. The top straps of his own Cuisses groaned then snapped off from one side anchoring. The leather strops swung uselessly like tails from the flanks, and the armor pieces fell forward from the top to gap awkwardly as he straightened to standing again - this time with Mr. Darrow held firmly under the arms to dangle the librarian-c**-monach like a large Charlie McCarthy. "Mr. Darrow...it will be okay..I...let me help you to a chair at least. "

"Maybe..maybe don't think about the camera, ja? Forget I mention it. "
"Hestkuk! " He swore under his breath while trying to indicate taking steps to the older man, "My armor..."

"Just a seat, ja? Only a few minutes and you can get your feet again."

He looked around for the costume girl, surely she would be here already for problems like this? How could she fix it though? Her name...what was it again? He'd JUST been thinking about it. "Ah...Lane? Laney! "

He called softly across the backstage, "Laney? Are you here? It is broken again." While still trying to manuever Mr. Darrow to a seat.
