"I'm fine, but thanks for asking." She wasn't going to tell him what had caused her to stumble. He didn't need to know, especially if he had said it only to be polite. While it frustrated her at times, Osbeth liked how he cared about others more than himself.
The female giggled. "They might have simply been running away because they were afraid you were going to hunt them. After all, we're usually quiet when we hunt, so by singing we would alert others to our presence."

Nodding to her status of being alright Knight was surprised to find himself a bit relieved. He supposed that he would have been upset if any fox had gotten hurt, but for some reason had it been Miss Osbeth it would have been worse than normal.
“I suppose you might be right Miss Osbeth, but where would I find a fox brave enough to risk a head ache or possible temporary deafness.” He shrugged it off not really thinking too much of it.

Osbeth laughed. "You are so silly!" Where would he find a fox indeed? "There's one right here." She smiled at the male. "But I doubt I'd go deaf, much less get a headache." Surely Knight was being too hard on himself. It couldn't be that bad, right?

Looking at Miss Osbeth like he wasn’t sure if she was still sane or not Knight considered. He figured that if he argued with her then she would only insist more, but if he agreed and was as bad as he thought he was…. Well there was no sense in putting it off. She would win in the end. “Perhaps you might want to find a comfortable seat Miss Osbeth?”

"Yay!" Osbeth looked around. Where to sit...There! She trotted over to a fallen log and sat on top of it. "Ready when you are." She smiled at Knight. It couldn't be that bad. Her tail twitched behind her in anticipation of what Knight was going to sing.

Clearing his throat Knight positioned himself so that he was facing Miss Osbeth. He was a bit nervous. It had been some time since he had last sang. He set up a slow beat by thumping his tail and hummed.
“When you’re next to me I can see. Our hearts beat together A resonance stronger than words Can you hear it now?
I don’t even need to near you To feel the pull of your soul Our destination is completely the same Run through the unbearable night!
So that we can meet again. Let us find that pleasant dream…..”

Osbeth waited for Knight to finish singing before clapping. "Good news!" Osbeth hopped off the log and padded over to Knight. "I don't have a headache nor am I deaf now." She poked him in the side gently. "So you aren't as bad as you thought you were silly Sir Knight." She smiled. "And it was a pretty song. Did you just make it up?"

Surprised that she seemed so thrilled about his singing Knight turned and gave Miss Osbeth a bow. “Well that is very good to know. I am most glad you aren’t deaf Miss Osbeth. A headache would have been less worrisome since that could pass. I have been thusly corrected.” He smiled back at her. A very light blush started to creep up on his cheeks. “Well the song is new to me, but not a new song in the making. You see it was one that my father used to sing to my mother.”

Osbeth sighed whistfully. "That is just so romantic! Were they very much in love?" Osbeth had always dreamed of some fox singing a song to her in that way. To tell her he cared. That he would always protect her.
Actually....that was what Knight had done hadn't he? Told her he'd shield her from pain. Osbeth studied the sword wielding fox. A fox like him. That was what she had always dreamed of. Not that the fox of her dreams would be Knight, no matter how much she enjoyed being around him or how much he was like it. Unless Osbeth missed it, there had not been any indication of something more happening between them than friendship; and until something like that happened, Osbeth wasn't going to risk losing her only friend.

Knight nodded. “I’d like to believe they were. They did fight and yell at each other at times, but then they would just stare at each other for a moment and burst out laughing and then hug each other.” He smiled a bit ruefully. “I fear I take after my father in many aspects. He always used to tell me it was important to take care of the ones you loved.” He shrugged. “Still I am not sure that kind of protection extends and I would not wish to smother the only one I have ever found dear to me so I suppose a laxed grasp is the best outcome?” Knight looked at Osbeth’s eyes carefully for a moment before flicking his ears and gesturing with his tail. “Shall we continue our walk Miss Osbeth? It’s a fine and warm day out. It would be a shame not to see more of this lovely forest while the sun is up.”
(I came up with a cute little saying based off 'happy wife, leads to a happy life' but it works so much better with the phim night I'm saving it for him.. "happy mate, leads to a happy fate" >.< why are both 'knights' romantic? it makes it so much harder to RP when they have such similar muses. )

((I would think it made it easier, that way you don't run into a brick wall xDD ))
Osbeth nodded. "Indeed it is Sir Knight. A fine day indeed." And as long as the sun was up, she could spend it with Knight. He didn't say how long he had away from his tribe; but if he had to leave once the sun started to set....Osbeth sighed.
"Was that why you are a scout for your tribe? Because of what your father said?" It made sense really. If Knight was all about protecting foxes, even those he cared about, what better job. Or did the elder chose his position? Osbeth had never been in a tribe so she didn't know.
Osbeth smiled and looked Knight straight in the eyes. "I don't know. I think some foxes enjoy a very protective male. Makes them feel loved." Having said that, Osbeth continued in the direction they were going before they stopped for Knight to sing.

Turning his head at the sigh Knight was confused by it’s cause. “Yes I suppose in part that is the reason why. I like to protect others, though there is more to it than that. As a scout I can protect, but I can also move around and I like being able to travel a bit while having a nice secure home. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but it’s how I feel. That’s why I asked to be a scout. It is what I felt I could best do for the tribe while keeping who I am intact.”
As she passed him he wanted to offer to protect her, but he didn’t know if that was inappropriate. After all Miss Osbeth could have a mate for all he knew. Surely it would be inappropriate to offer to protect another’s mate without their permission. And it would be and especially haneis thing considering how Knight found himself feeling about Miss Osbeth.
(Yes but I’d like to keep them a separate kind of knightly. Just so I can keep them straight in my head. Since they have different mates and all.)

"No. It makes sense. You don't have to worry about not having a place to live, or someone moving into a place you left. Also pretty stable for any kits. If your mate is a part of the tribe to that is." It would not be stable if they had to travel just to see a parent Osbeth thought.
The thought of mates and kits caused reason to pause. That was one subject the two of them hardly talked about. Something neither knew if the other had. They talked about where they were at the moment. About parents, romance, likes and dislikes. Mates and kits? Never.

“I suppose if I ever find a mate then it would be a good thing. At the moment though I think perhaps you’re right. The tribe being in one spot is nice..” He nodded his head a bit causing his hat to tip forward, it threatened to fall but a soft jerk back put it back into place. He smiled at her. “Sometimes I think you understand me better than I know myself Miss Osbeth.” He chuckled a bit. It seemed like a bad joke, but in a way it was true. She did know him well, which was a surprise since they didn’t spend time with one another constantly.

Osbeth smiled. "I'm sure there's a saying about that. At least...I think there is..." But how hard was it to understand stability? To understand having an actual place to call home? She looked over at Knight. "If you ever find a mate? You mean thousands of females haven't been throwing themselves at you? I find that hard to believe."
