"Riding rabbits! I've never tried that. How do you catch them? Seems like it would be hard cause they're fast little blighters, know what I mean?" Murren said. That sounded really fun though. "Anyway, who is stupid enough to mistake a faerie for a fly. Probably only Humans. We're way bigger than flies! And you're pink!"

"Oh, right. Those pants are utterly brilliant!"

She paused to catch a breath, realizing she was blathering on and on, which she was sort of used to doing because she was usually arguing with brick walls or something. Literally. Or her shoes. Once she'd been stupid enough to animate her right boot and the thing wouldn't shut up about boot rights and how much it hated being walked all over, which was just stupid because usually she was flying anyway! At any rate, she forgot that when you were talking to another person, you couldn't really jump from subject to subject or talk for ten minutes straight. "Actually," she said, trying to talk slower. "I'm sort of relieved that I'm not the only faerie here. It's nice to not be alone, you know?"

((Haha...are we really going to RP sheep labor? XD Also, I think Murren wants to steal his pants. ~__~ Guard your pants, Briar...guard your pants. I don't think she's above stealing them while you're still in them.))

"You don't unless you want to be kicked. Actually, the fun of it is to sneak up on them in order to get a ride." Briar snickered, looking forward to some mischievous mayhem with Murren. "I know! All they see is wings, and then, the next thing you know, SPLAT. They try to swat you or something! And you're green! Like... bright green!"

Unsurprisingly, it was easy for him to try to catch up to Murren because he tended to do the same too. It wasn't his fault that so many thoughts could pop into his head at once. Still, his pants? "Thanks? Well, if you must ask me, I am loving your top hat and all your trinkets you've got going there."

Murren's sudden change in pace had Briar blink in surprise. D'aw, he was getting so into this constant chit-chatter too. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Well, there are other faeries here, but they're not exactly our size. Of course, they might count to you since they're just like us in a really tall way, but still, I agree with you. We should stick together to not be lonely. In a totally friendly way. Unless you don't want to, but if you do think so because it's too sudden for anything else, then totally pay no attention to what I say." Oh, him and his smart mouth. Hey, at least, if there's rejection, he can always try again and again until she would have to say yes unless she wanted him to bother her for quite some time.

(( Ayame mentioned that Puffy wasn't going to be due for at least another day or two, but we were free to do whatever we'd like to the sheep. Murren and Briar barely escaped sheep labor. ;D As for the pants.... I think Briar would be glad to give up his pants in exchange for Murren's trinkets. Shininess beats man pride. >_>; ))

"Yes!" Murren said. In the blink of eye, she was small again, and opposite Briar, his hands in hers. "Yes! Because I've been away from home for a long time because I really like Humans so very much. But at the same time, it gets a bit lonely. And weird little girls try to trap me in jars, and cats try to eat me and honestly no one understands it all. And even though I can change my size, I can't just do it all the time..so...yes. It would be lovely to have a friend here, who's like me and my size and all." Though Briar was actually quite a bit taller than her. Well, perhaps only a centimeter or two in reality, but considering how small they were, it seemed like a lot.

As she was gushing at him, Puffy suddenly decided that today was not the big day. She shambled to her feet and huffed her way out to the paddock with the others.

"Oh. I wonder if it was false labor? Anyway!"

She turned back to briar and pulled a round, iridescent bauble from her waist. She thought it used to be an earring before she adopted it. "Here, you take this one since you like them so much. As a token of friendship. How's that?"

Hurray for the power of friendship! Briar eagerly nodded at the acceptance and beamed at her. "Exactly! While I can't change my size, I perfectly understand what you're going through. Us fairies need to band together and wreak the occasional fun havoc on humans, especially the ones that feel the need to dirty the school!" Oh yes, they certainly had to do that now. Going along that line of subject, Briar was vaguely reminded of the fact that he should have been cleaning, but cleaning can wait. He found a new companion to talk to! Actually, no. The dirt was gross, and it was practically calling out to him to clean it.

Berries, it was a relief that Murren distracted him with a gift. "Really?" Of course, he wouldn't give up the gift because well, it was sparkling, but it was more out of politeness to reassure the gesture. "Thanks, Murren! Awh, man. I'd give you my pants since you like them, but that'd be super awkward. If you just happen to have a spare pair of pants, then sure, I'll be happy to relinquish my amazingly pink pants. That'd be very convenient if you did, but anyway, if I take this, you have to take something from me as well. So... Pick?"

"Definitely, because Humans are so silly," Murren said. "I tied someone's shoelaces together earlier." She laughed as she remembered how great that was. "That one gets them every single time. They don't always fall though--but it's funnier when they do."

She looked down at his pants which were...so amazing and pink. But, well, she didn't have any that would fit him. And he filled the pink ones out better than she would. And while she could technically change her size so she could fit them, going in stages was hard and she couldn't do it that much unless she wanted to end up as an ant--which she didn't, particularly.

"Well, it's a bit of a tough call but.." She half-tackled him and half hugged him, giving him a nice, solid squeeze before releasing him. "There. I'll just take that as payment. It works half as revenge for tackling me earlier and half as...just...well, hugs are nice, don't you think? Anyway, gosh, I guess I should take the chance to muck out this stall, while the sheep are outside, because....it smells really, really sheepy in here." She wrinkled her nose. Yeah, she was going to be fixing that.

"Remind me to try that someday. Though, I'm a bit traumatized by feet after that time I got stuck in gum and this massive crowd of feet almost squashed me. Ugh." Briar shuddered at the memory. Feet. Absolutely terrifying.

He expected Murren to steal his pants with the way she kept staring at them, but instead, he was... glomped. And it was pretty nice just likeas Murren said it was. "You know what? Hugs won't do. A cutie like you deserves better. I'll make sure to ask my sisters to make another pair just for you!" Of course, he'd need Murren's size, but details schmetails. Did that even make sense? "And don't worry. I was planning on cleaning up this place anyway. How about we split up the job? You can do one half, and I do the other. All my cleaning supplies are right in my cart."

"That's terrible!" Murren agreed sympathetically. She gave him another quick hug, because that just sounded horrifying. "I've never gotten caught in gum, but one time this grasshopper tried to eat my hat. It was sort of terrifying because he was huge and would just lunge at me and then he had me cornered and was sort of twitching at me with his creepy mandibles. But then I just, you know, went super sized and squished him. But it was really scary!"

She grinned at him, fluttering her wings slightly. "Flattery well actually get you just about everywhere with me so long as you keep doing it," she told him. She flitted up a bit higher, surveying the stable. "That's a really sweet offer, but actually I just use magic, you know. I mean, my family used to muck out a stable twice this size in a few hours--and milk the cows and coats, stock the mangers, slop the pigs and all that work. Usually in the hour before dawn, before the owners got up. I mean, we're used to working really fast and getting big jobs done in a small amount of time. Can't really lug around a bucket and sponge for that."

"Anyway, I'll owe you again after this. Maybe I can cook you dinner or something!"

Yikes. Briar had to wince. For both Murren and the grasshopper. Sure, it might have been terrifying to be chased, but at the same time, being squashed wasn't pleasant at all. He had to sympathize even more with Murren though since he had been placed in that situation plenty of times.

"Awh, well, you'll be hearing all sorts of flattery now that your friends with me. I believe that everyone deserves compliments, especially ladies like you." Briar teased with a chuckle before remarking in awe. "Really? Wow! I'd love to be able to do that. Then, things would become instantly clean, and I wouldn't have to fork over sleep when trying to clean up messes. If it was possible, I'd totally swap my strength for your size-changing and cleaning magic powers, but we can't. Anyway, I can't just let you take all the glory of cleaning up this mess. I can also take care of the sheep if you want. They're more... brown than white if you know what I mean."

"Haha, I'll be looking forward to it, and don't worry. I'll make sure to bring dessert. Um, what do you like? Berries? Apples? Nuts?" He offered up ideas since he wasn't entirely sure what Murren liked. All he knew was that she liked his pants, and well... pants weren't edible.

"Maybe it's just where I'm from," Murren said. "You know, you always hear those old stories about the faeries who finished all the shoes in a night, or thrashed all the wheat in a single night? I guess we can just move fast or something. Maybe it's a peculiarity of Fae from Great Britain?" She had no idea. Because really, Briar was the first Faerie like herself that she'd met since leaving home.

"But does that mean you're really strong? Because you know, with everything else I can do, I'm not really very strong like this. I mean...I couldn't even carry that syringe." She peeked at Briar over the top of one of the stalls. "Or is it just because you're a man--you know, because men are usually all manly and stronger than women and all that?"

"Ooh! Apples! I love apples. Apples are absolutely brilliant. I love them. And acorns! Actually I have a stash of those. Lots of oak trees around here. Got into a fight with a vicious squirrel over one the other day..."

"I think it's just me that's the odd one out here. I've never really used magic all too much." Briar attempted to explain. There had never been a need for him to use it since his sisters always seemed to take care of the housework and whatnot. All he had to do was forage for food. Hey! Maybe that was how he developed his super strength in the first place. Then again, another theory came to mind.

"Or I could secretly be using magic as my strength without even realizing it! I really am awesome aren't I? Lifting stuff just makes me so manly." From this, ideas of activities for the Manliness Club sprung forth. In order for the kids to be manly just like him, they had to start off with the basics, and that was picking berries. Then, they could gradually move onto the heavy stuff like... like... desks! Briar was such a genius.

Though, as intelligent as he was, he was going to have difficulties remembering that Murren liked apples. It must have been because his brain was too huge and was filled with awesomeness that it couldn't fit in other nonsense. Still, he made it an effort to shove that information into his head as well as Murren's name. He was not going to forget. Hopefully. "Apples and acorns it is for dessert! Do ya think we should start getting to work on these stables now, or do ya want to put the cleaning on hold and start adventuring?" He asked, wishing for the other faerie to pick the former. After all, it was going to bug him if he left this place as it was.

"Well, I already got started on this side, so it would be a little weird not to finish it," Murren said, looking around. Yeah, she really couldn't leave this half done. That was just awkward and annoying and a little niggling voice was telling her there was something very, very uncouth about not finishing what she'd started. So yeah, that wasn't an option. "I can have this stable clean in ten minutes flat. Maybe eleven...and a half. Faster, if you help. Which, you are. So.."

As she spoke, she started zipping back and forth over the stall she was in, rapidly, cleaning as she went. She paused to say, "I definitely agree about the strength being manly because I definitely can't do that. From now on, if I need something heavy lifted, I'm going to just find you. Anyway, when we're done with this, are you going to take me around the school?"

She moved to the next stall, starting on it as well.

"Of course, I am! Why would I ever skip out on guiding a fair lady to places? It's a must have for men." Briar scoffed, occasionally glancing up at Murren as he worked away one the windows. He was working at a snail's pace compared to the buzzing fairy wasn't he? C'mon, he was still at where they had both started, but she was far ahead of him when it came to cleaning. He couldn't let her show him up. She might end up taking his job, which meant that she'd be taking his keys to the janitor's closet as well. Oh, no. If that were to happen, then all of his stolen treasure would be taken away. Still, try as he might, Briar was always going to be slow when it came to scrubbing away because he was so nit-picky about getting rid of each speck of dirt. That was one of the main reasons why he tended to recruit help from others since he'd be spending several days on a cleaning project if he was on his own.

By the time Briar was able to have the windows gleam at him, there was no doubt that Murren must have finished long before he did. He was reluctant to actually check up on her progress, so he made sure to ask as a distraction to not look. "Do you have any particular place in mind to see?"

"I don't know! I mean, Human men stand up Human women all the time," Murren said. "You hear about it when you lurk around a lot. I always thought it was weird that they call 'standing up' I mean...because they're not standing or anything so why would they even call it that?"

She was about three fourths of the way through her side when Briar asked what she'd like to see. Hrm. She hadn't really given that much thought at all. "Well, I don't know," she said, pausing in her work. "What kind of places do you recommend me to see?"

She glanced over at him, shocked to see how little progress he'd made. Nooo! What was he doing? Was he pretending to be a snail? He'd said he wasn't as fast her but that was just too slow. Poor guy! He was a slow faerie. That was just sad. Of course, she was a weak one compared to him but...but...being slow had to just be painful.

Murren zipped over to him and gave him a tight hug. "It's okay, even if you're a little slower than me, Briar. I'm really grateful you're helping. And I mean, you have really great pants! And pink is definitely my favorite color so, see? It's not all bad."

"Really? I always thought it was the other way around. Humans are funny people don't ya think? I think it's best to not think too much about it unless you want your brain to hurt." Briar mused, never one to really think about trivial things such as that. After all, headaches were guaranteed if he kept pondering about why humans were who they were.

"Oh! There's always the Manliness Club! That's a great place to check out, and I'll be glad to show you all the kids in it. Then again, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to bring a girl, but then again, I'm the advisor. It should be allowed because you'd just be a guest. Unless you'd want to join?" Briar prattled a bit. Of course, it would defeat the purpose of having a Manliness Club. Perhaps, they should switch it to Womanliness? Nah, that was too awkward. "Then again, there's plenty of other places like the infirmary. The doctor has really nice hair to lay in if you're tired. There's also the school garden, but right now wouldn't be the best time since it's almost winter. It tends to remind me of home just a bit."

Of course, he should list off the places Murren should never see as well. "I recommend being very careful when you're wandering outside the school. For all you know, a desk could fly out the window and crush you. It almost happened to me. Also, never ever go into the boiler room. It's dark, musty, and has, um, rats. A whole swarming bunch of them." It was all lies, but hey, he had to protect his treasures. Even if Murren was a friend, Briar didn't want anything stolen...

Of course, Murren's attempt at consoling him weren't very consoling. It made Briar glance behind him, only to see that she was indeed almost finished with her half. Awwwh. That didn't make him feel any better for his slow cleaning. At least he was getting a hug for effort. "At least I made the window blindingly clean? Haha, I get that I'm not that fastest fairy of the bunch, but I like to give that helping hand. Don't you worry. I'll get this done on my own time! And yes, my pants are great, but I don't think they make up for my cleaning."

We must not look at goblin men,
we must not buy their fruits...

User Image"It does!" Murren insisted fervently. "It definitely does! Okay, let's get this cleaned so we can go see all those fabulous things! Except the boiler room! I hate rats." She shuddered and whizzed away to the other side. "I want to see this manliness club! What do you do in manliness club? Like...manly things? Like burping and picking your toenails? I hope not because no offense, but that's just disgusting."

"Anyway, I've never been attacked by a flying desk before. One time this Owl tried to eat me. I mean, I was just sitting there, enjoying the moon and a little bit of wine and it just swooped down out of no where. Though I think a desk would be scarier. I mean, sure an owl has sharp talons, a huge beak and those creepy eyes--and they can turn their heads all the way around. But a desk is huge and can crush you. That's just dangerous right there." She made quick work of finishing up her side, dithering a bit over the last stall. It would be sort of sad if she finished her side before Briar finished his.

She didn't want to make him feel unmanly--he seemed to really care a lot about that. Maybe she should swoon from all the work and let him catch her. OOH! That was a good idea. Then he wouldn't feel bad about being slow and it was definitely manly to catch fallen maidens. She set to work with new vigor, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth as she focused on her work.

"Whew! Finished!" She said loudly. "Blimey, I'm bushed! Oh....oh! Actually, I'm feeling a bit...dizzy..." She let her eyes flutter shut and her wings droop. "I think I might......." She let out a loud sigh as she let herself fall toward the floor.
