Justine wasn't going to lie to himself, the knowledge that Mirabella was pet-less made his day just a little bit better. She was right though, he needed to take it slow. He wasn't going to be some kind of "pet player" or anything, but it was important to be sure about who he was going to spend who-knew-how-long with. He had to keep reminding himself of that fact and not jump into anything. He shook the thought from his mind and his head back and forth in a 'no' motion, "I do not yet have a master. I'm trying to be careful about the process, but it's so exciting! That's part of the fun of being here."

He liked this girl. Mistress or no, he felt that he could open up to her. It may have been the introduction of alcohol that brought on his feelings of fast friendship with this new woman, but it was also something more. Something he couldn't place. Could he ever? In his most sober or most drunk state of mind could he ever know the affairs of his own heart? No. Best to just go with the feeling.

"This bartender is an artist of drinks. With a mansion this nice, and a bar this upscale, they must employ skilled bartenders!" Justine concluded. It was a fabulous mansion, indeed, and he was lucky to live in such a place. For free, no less. This kind of thing only happened in fairy tales. His parents would be so proud! Well, they wouldn't, but that was besides the point.

Justine patiently listened to Mirabella's words, interested in every piece of what she was saying. She was so interesting to him! As a middle-class white boy, he had led a very boring life. When she finished, he began, "Wow, you're from England? I've never been out of the country! I would think college in England would be a lot cooler than college here, but... Well, I guess it's more mundane because you're from there..." He laughed at his mistake, "I suppose it's not as exotic to you as it is to me. Well, I for one, am glad you found your way here. And welcome to America, I guess? I'm not exactly sure if you've been here long. You hardly look old enough to have finished college but I guess I'm not one to talk."

He chuckled again, "I like it here so far, though it certainly hasn't been a long while. I just got here today. I unpacked all my boxes and set up my room. It's awesome, let me tell you, to not have to share a teeny room with a roommate. He was a d**k! He wouldn't even talk to me half the time, and when he did it was all homophobic religious sh -- stuff." He looked down into his glass as he took another long sip. He didn't know what Miri thought about religion in general, so he didn't want to begin ranting about it. That would be quite rude, "It's just, I'm straight. He wouldn't believe me. It was all quite silly, really."

The fact that Mirabella ordered the same drink made him feel even more at ease, and no longer at all embarrassed about the girly drink. When the bartender the new drinks down in front of the two, he grinned, "It's sweet. I hope you like sweet things. I do. You can't even taste the rum! Dangerous." He sipped at the renewed beverage, "People make fun of me for girly drinks but jokes on them! I get a delicious mix while they suffer through a burnt throat."

"But, what was England like? Sorry if I'm prying, it's just interesting. I don't know too much about other countries. I must seem like such a child," he giggled, finishing off and ordering yet another drink.

Mirabella couldn't help but smile widely when Justine talked about getting a master. For starters, he didn't even have one yet so that was opening the possibility in Miri's mind further. And, what also made her smile, was that he just so high-spirited about it all. She was almost envious of the amount of passion and enthusiasm he had for the simple things, it had an effect on her that motivated her to become just as lively as he was. She realised she was also really excited about having a pet. She couldn't wait for someone who she could be with all time and confide everything to. She couldn't wait for someone who would share her happiness, and bring her up when she was down; someone who could be there for her but also that she could be there for them. She would care for and love them and when she thought about this, she knew it was near impossible to find anyone like that. Her good mood faded a little but as soon as Justine started talking again, it picked right back up.

'Yes, I agree! These drinks are delicious!' she said, to Justine and the bartender too as she took a sip of the drink, suddenly understanding why Justine was giving it so much praise. 'Mmm, very sweet. It seems like you kind of drink' she said, chuckling. She savoured the flavour in her mouth, not even aware that she was slowly becoming more and more tipsy. Apparently that worry had slipped her mind. The only change she could actually feel was that she was becoming less stressed and more relaxed. She suddenly felt as though she could tell Justine anything and that's why, when he told her about his roommate, she didn't hold back.

'Oh, really? That's awful! Aw, poor you' she said, making a sour face when the subject of religous issues came up. Mirabella didn't really have a religion and had decided a long time ago that it was best not to worry herself with things like that because they just make life more complicated. Worshipping gods and having boundaries just wasn't her thing. What did annoy her though was when people with other religions shunned you just because you don't believe what they believe or because you break one of their rules. No, that was just wrong. She would have said that but she wasn't that drunk...yet.

She took another sip of the fruity concoction. She shook her head and said 'No, of course your not prying! And I don't think your a child' she said and she was telling the truth. 'Well, England is...' she started, not quite sure how to finish off the sentence. She thought about it for a second and then started again. 'England is a really nice place to live, especially when you go down south. London is alright, but it's not that friendly, to be honest' she said, recalling her memories of the city from when she was younger. When living in the city, it wasn't even uncommon to not know the name of the person who lived in the flat above you. 'But, the countryside is just amazing. It's all green and clean and no matter where you go England, you'll always be close to the coast since it just so small. That's probably what I miss the most' she confessed. 'Everything was just so small and when I came to America, I did freak out a bit. But, I do think that's I've gotten used to it now' she told him, taking another sip of her drink and leaving the glass empty. She shifted her gaze over to the bartender, who didn't even pause before coming up with another of the same drink. 'Thank you!' she said, before he nodded and went to serve someone else. 'The service her really is great' she said, smiling, to herself mostly.

Cleo gave another light shrug of her shoulders and kept her eyes on her salad when Dahlia said that her story sounded simple, not wanting to give anything away accidentally. She wished it were truly that simple, but at least she'd done a decent job making it sound as though it were. Either Dahlia believed her story, or was too polite to ask any questions about it. Whatever the case, Cleo was glad when the subject shifted back to Dahlia.

Cleo tilted her head slightly at Dahlia when she explained that she was brought there, and how she'd been passed around from place to place before that. Cleo knew the feeling; she'd been in a similar situation as well, so she understand how that felt to kept getting handed around. It made her wonder if any of the places Dahlia had been had at least been semi decent places to live for the short time she was there. She did, however, raise an eyebrow when Dahlia said that she didn't know what type of immortal she actually was. That was a new one for Cleo, so far everyone else she'd came across had known exactly what they were. She tried to imagine what it would be like to have no idea of what you were. Cleo wasn't sure if she'd be happy or frustrated.

"Wow. Must be. . . difficult, not knowing," Cleo said carefully, and not sure what to say on the matter. She looked away from Dahlia for a moment at the others at the bar, and chewed on the inside of her cheek. "I'm a witch, myself," she offered. She wasn't sure why, it wasn't like Dahlia had asked what she was, but she supposed it was only right to tell her since Dahlia had explained she didn't know what she was. Cleo gave a light shrug of her shoulders. "Nothing too exciting," she added with a halfhearted chuckle before she took another drink of her Dr. Pepper.

Scarlet walked into the bar and ordered the best whiskey in the house. Then she looked around for a comfortable place to enjoy her drink and people watch.

Justine grinned. Now she knew! Yet another unsuspecting victim indoctrinated into the cult of fruity drinks. And right then at that moment, his mind burring just slightly with alcohol, that was really, truly the most important thing. Until he thought of something else, of course.

Justine scowled, "Yeah, but it's in the past now. I really just hate it when people use religion as a path to hate. Eh, no worries though. It's in the past," His tongue was starting to slip, loosened by the drinks he loved so much. He decided to cut back and take it slow. He certainly could not make a fool out of himself in front of Mirabella. That would be awful. Or perhaps he already did. If it were to come to that, he'd need to keep drinking. Logically.

He wasn't very good at logic when alcohol was involved. Or maybe he was. He couldn't remember. He was more tipsy than anything, sure, but three drinks? Lightweight. It was probably because he had the body of a child. He felt good though. That was what mattered.

When Mirabella commented that she didn't think he was a child, Justine grinned ear-to-ear. He looked so young, and it was rare indeed for him to be treated otherwise. "I've always wanted to live out-of-country. But I, you know, haven't had the chance. And this castle is foreign enough right now." He played with the glass, spinning it back and forth slowly on the bar. He wasn't willing to drink any more quite yet, "I would love to go to England, or Canada. It sounds nice to be near the coast and the countryside. And having other countries be just a train ride away? I feel like that would be quite handy."

Dahlia shrugged, finishing her sandwich and milk and pushing her plate slightly away. "I don't miss what I never knew." she said with a small smile. Though she had tried to find out a couple of times, she never succeeded. She counted her search as a loss and stopped looking afterwards. It became something tucked away in the back of her mind instead of something constantly bothering her.

Her gaze fell back onto Cleo and she became excited, "Wow, a witch? What do you specialize in?" she asked her with a hint of curiosity in her voice. Though it might not have been exciting for Cleo, learning what anyone was was an interest Dahlia had. It reminded her that she wasn't the only different one in the world.

Cleo raised an eyebrow slightly, but didn't respond when Dahlia seemed impassive about not knowing what her species was. It was probably the best attitude to have. After all, what could you do if you just didn't know? Still, Cleo was sure that if it were herself, it would be an annoyance to her. It was funny, not a whole lot bothered Cleo, but that probably would. Which made her silently glad that she at least knew what she was.

She blinked at Dahlia when she asked what she specialized in, and let out a light chuckle. More at herself than Dahlia though. Cleo had always considered her 'witch status' to be boring compared to the other species that existed, and sometimes she forgot that people might actually find it interesting. "Potions, mainly," she said, smiling. Talking about her potions was something Cleo enjoyed on the rare chances she got to do so. "If I have the right ingredients, I can make a potion for just about anything. I always have some with me, several vials in my bag upstairs," she said with a light shrug of her shoulders.

"But on top of the potions," she continued, "I do have three powers that are pretty cool bonuses to being a witch." Cleo got the chance to demonstrate her powers even less than she got to talk about her potions, so she decided to take the chance to use them. She turned back towards her now almost empty bottle of Dr. Pepper and pointed her index finger at it, then she raised her index finger upward, and the bottle lifted into the air and hung there. "Telekinesis is one of them," she said, smiling. She lowered her finger and let the bottle move back to the counter. "I can move anything light, but it's harder to move heavy things, and anything too large is just impossible," she said with s light shrug of her shoulders.

"And the second one," she continued. This time Cleo held her hand out, palm up. There was a small spark, and then a small fireball appeared in the palm of her hand. "Is Pyrokinesis." Cleo closed her hand, then opened it to reveal that the fireball was now gone, but she held her index finger out again, there was another small spark and then a small flame appeared at the time of her finger. "Comes in handy for lighting candles," she joked. "I can create fire out of thin air, or control fire that always exists. And obviously, can't be burnt by it," she said, shrugging her shoulders again and shook her hand, making the flame disappear as if it had never been there to begin with.

Cleo cleared her throat and shifted a bit in her seat. "I have one other power, it's called Molecular Combustion, which is basically the ability to blow objects up," she explained, "but I don't like to use that one for obvious reasons." She had had to learn how to control it, but Cleo didn't like to use it for fear she would blow someone up. Which was why it was the power Cleo was least comfortable with. Shrugging her shoulders, Cleo looked back to Dahlia. "What about you? Any abilities or anything, other than being immortal?" she asked.

Katsumi had been wandering before she came across a bar. Smiling to herself she stepped inside. A drink was always a wonderful thing? Well now and then. She sat down at the bar and crossed one long leg over the other. She pushed some strands of ebony hair out of her face and behind her ear.

She would order a gin gin mule and wait patiently for it to be done. She glanced around never letting her eyes sit on one person for too long. She believes staring was rude but sometimes just could not be helped at all.

Dahlia chuckled lightly, "You've got quite the arsenal there, don't you?" she said happily. She knew it was still a bit early, but she couldn't help but order a glass of vodka. She was there, why not? When she received it she took a light sip and set down her glass after hearing Cleo's question about Dahlia's own power. "Well... I have an uncanny ability to hypnotize when I need to." she said casually, taking another sip. "It really isn't much compared to what you've got. All I need to do.. is sing."

On his way past the kitchen to go upstairs he'd seen two young girls walk out of the kitchen and down the hallway. Curious as to where they might be going with their food in hand, he followed them with intention to introduce himself and talk with them. He gave a small pause wondering if he should continue up the stairs to explore more of the castle, but it was the middle of the day. He had time. When he turned his attention back to them, they were just going into a doorway down the hall. Making his way there took but a few short moments and he walked in looking for where they'd sat. He wasn't surprised that others were here, rather he was surprised at the number of people here. It put him at ease instantly and reminded him of bars on base from times he could remember with good friends before things had gone so wrong. A warm smile came to his face and he walked over to both of them catching them mid conversation. Waiting for them to finish so as not to be rude, he introduced himself.

"Hello ladies. My name is Randal. I noticed that you two were headed down here and was curious were you might be going so I followed you here. I was also interested in meeting you both."

Deveraux's smile never left his face as he entered the bar, reading the pet's emotions as they walked the hallway in silence. It was still tough to read the emotions, but every once in awhile, a brief hint of a feeling would pop though, intruiging the angel even futher. He hadnt thought about claiming a pet until later, yet there was something mysterious drawing him to Lex. He thought about it more as he approached the doors to the bar, and opened the door for both him and Lex.
"I do value my alone time, mind you; usually people have to pay for intruding on my relax time," Deveraux said, half joking, letting his smile fade from his face for a brief moment. "But if someone interesting is intruding, I think I can make an exception." Deveraux winked, his smile returing to his face. "And trust me, you are very interesting to me. Care for a drink? Deveraux said as he approached the bar, ordering a scotch, neat, two fingers afterwards. He took a brief sip of the scotch, savoring the bite of the alcohol and the faint burn as it traveled down his throat. This is a very good scotch...I guess Amaranthe does provide the best Deveraux thought, his gaze drifting over Lex. Even though he barely knew Lex, something told him that he would make the perfect pet...And Deveraux felt a strong compulsion to act on it. He took another draw off of the scotch Liquid courage? Deveraux thought absent-mindedly as the trail of fire followed the sip of alcohol. "Im very intrigued by you, Lex. I was wondering, If you were claimed yet or not." Deveraux said, hope at the forefront of his mind. "Because if you are not, I would love for you to be my pet."

xxxxxxxxxxx গহ Lex doubled Deveraux's order, taking a sip and closing his eyes, following the liquid with his thoughts as he listened in silence to Deveraux's question. Violet-Blue eyes popped open at the question, turning in shock to Deveraux as he looked at the man. He wasn't very coordinated at the moment, mouth agape with his shock as he tried to figure out how to respond to such a question... Yes, he was interested in the man... But he hadn't expected to be claimed by him, none the less so quickly...

Thousands of thoughts ran through Lex, some of which were rather obvious, while others flickered far in the depths like a candle in a cavern. His emotions, just for those few moments, were wide open. He was curious, frustrated, and unsure of what to think of Deveraux's question. He'd felt the interest in the man, but after previous experiences, wasn't terribly thrilled by the thought of having his heart torn out again. He was a Grimm... One of the reapers of his kind, and he'd had a long cold life before he'd become a pet... Which hadn't been improved his experiences too terribly much. As he'd been passed from master to mistress to master, Lex had been used, abused and abandoned... And frankly, it wasn't something he wanted to happen again.... He'd had enough of the rough life, and was ready to settle down into a more comfortable relationship, where he could really relax, and be himself... Maybe even tell someone what he was...?

With that final thought, Lex's eyes refocused on Deveraux, a faint smile appearing on his lips as he met the mans eyes.
"I'd be glad to be your pet, Master Deveraux... But I'll warn you now... I'm not exactly what I appear to be.... And I'll only share what I really am, if I truly trust a person... So you may never know...." he took a sip of his scotch again, meeting the mans eyes over the rim of the glass. "And no breaking my heart..." the last words where the barest of whispers before Lex finished the drink and asked for another.

Cleo felt her cheeks get a little hot when Dahlia said that she had 'quite the arsenal' and gave a light shrug of her shoulders. Starting to regret telling Dahlia about all three of her powers. She didn't think Dahlia meant it that way, but Cleo hoped that Dahlia didn't think she was trying to show off or anything. She just so rarely got a chance to talk about her powers, let alone use them. Her previous owner had forbid her from them using them at all, unless he wanted her to use them for him for whatever reason. Having to go long periods of time without using her powers was. . . uncomfortable, to say the least. Cleo was a witch, and witches were meant to use their powers on a regular basis. It actually became physically uncomfortable for her not to be able to use them.

Which was why Cleo was pretty sure her former owner had purposely made her not use them.

Cleo quickly shoved all thoughts of he previous owner out of her mind when Dahlia answered her question. Cleo blinked at her. "Hypnotize?" she repeated. She smiled a little. "Actually I think that's a really nice power," she said, shaking her head and making her blonde hair swing around her face. "My power is pretty much just a glorified way of saying "giant candlestick' and 'bag of wind'," she joked.

Cleo was just opening her mouth to say something else to Dahlia when she heard another voice join in on the conversation. This one was male, and coming from behind her. Cleo turned around on the stool, blinking once at the man, who had introduced himself as Randal. She quickly took in his appearance, automatically wondering if he were another slave, or a master. Something about the way he held himself made Cleo suspect he was a master. He seemed nicer than most though, so Cleo wasn't sure if she had guessed correctly.

"Oh, uh, hi." Cleo resisted the urge to frown at herself for her less than stellar conversation skills and cleared her throat instead. "I'm Cleopatra St. Raven, but please just call me Cleo. And this is Dahlia," she said, gesturing her hand to her. "We just decided to have our meal in here, rather than the kitchen," she explained, glancing at the empty bowl and plate sitting on the counter. Turning back to Randal, she gave him a small smile. "It's nice to meet you, Randal."

Dahlia chuckled lightly with Cleo before finishing her drink, feeling slightly more happy. She looked over in her direction when she heard Cleo saying hello to someone new. She saw a charming looking man and generously waved at him and said "Hello" like she would anyone else when Cleo introduced her. "It's a pleasure to meet you." she continued, bowing her head slightly. When she came back up she took a glance at her glass, wondering if she should have it refilled. '...Nah, I think I'm good for now..' she thought and sat in her seat quietly. Dahlia could tell Randal was a master, not a slave, just by the way he seemed to hold himself up. "What is it that led your interest in us?" Dahlia asked him curiously.
