Zyk swooped in for another attack. He was lucky that Tenka had hurt herself and not him; but for how long could this luck run?

In his confused flailing, Tenka somehow managed to swoop right out of the way of Zyk's attack. "Tenka, Electro Ball!" Shina cried. Tenka gathered energy, and sent off the orb of electricity.

Zyk flashed his fangs at his opponent. He wasn't finished yet! Purple venom dribbled down the corner of his mouth as he dove again, ready to bite.

Tenka tried to slide away from the venomous bite, but was only partially successful. One poison-coated fang scratched him despite his efforts. Startled, he zapped out a blast of electricity.

"Okay, use Return!" Zinnia shouted once she had seen that Tenka was successfully poisoned and had hurt herself in confusion once again. It looked like she had managed to snap out of it, though; she seemed a bit more alert now. Zyk had been doing very well, but he was still fighting at an extreme disadvantage... She'd just have to hope for the best.
The zubat attacked. He was very tired, but his determination was enough to keep him going!

Tenka screeched at Zyk and retaliated with a Thunderbolt. He was tired of his attacks backfiring, he didn't like the feel of poison, and he wanted the bat to go away!

Zyk shuddered and gave a tired squeak. There wasn't much energy left in his tiny body!
"Hang in there, buddy..." Zinnia said softly; his sharp ears would hear her. "Confuse Ray!" Tenka was too strong an opponent, this time; she couldn't help but resign herself to Zyk's fate, and she held his pokeball at the ready so that her poor zubat would not fall far.
Zyk had more faith than his trainer did; he emitted the ghostly ray with a gusto.

"Acrobatics!" Shina called sharply. Tenka obeyed, swooping into a complicated aerial maneuver that took him out of the path of the ghostly attack and sent him shooting towards the bat.

Zyk was hit by the attack at full strength; he hadn't seen-- or rather, heard-- it coming. The tiny pokemon stopped flapping his wings as he fell unconscious, and started to fall.
"Come back, Zyk!" Zinnia said quickly, returning him to his pokeball before he was in danger of going splat on the floor. "Thanks for the battle!" she called across the stadium, before leaving to heal her pokemon.
