Yes, half of this was Demoda's fault. Belial had told her to spread the rumor that would make Gimpi fly off. Still, she... didn't want to be here. Yet, Gimpi flew off and she was left with this stupid plan.
So, she padded towards the cave, ears back as she viewed the large 'Daeva lurking in his cave. His head rose, eyes narrowed at the woman that approached, tail flicking as he rose, exiting the cave and waiting at the opening of his domain. The woman settled on her haunches, flicking her tail out.
"Belial." "Pest."
The two viewed one another, her tail exposing the BCR long enough for Belial to notice, his nails extending, ready to snap out at the woman and steal it. Her tail flicked back, hiding the BCR as her ears folded, briefly showing the fear she felt.
"I... brought you a 'Daeva... " Her ears twitched as Belial's familiar imp ran up, glaring at her. Belial hissed at the creature, pleased when it returned to him. "I was able to grab one before the mother returned, but the other is down the way. I can... take you. If... does this release me from you?" Blue eyes looked up, wincing as Belial snatched the BCR from her tail, having used a clawed paw to hold her down. He examined it, tapped the ball with a claw, and seemed pleased, vanishing into his cave before returning without it.
"No. It does not, but perhaps I'll spare your mate instead." Belial snarled back, grinning. Demoda shuddered, opening her mouth, stopped by a savage snarl. "If you question, I'll simply take it back."
The two stared, and the woman lowered her head, ears flat against her form as she nodded, quiet. Afraid. Without responding further, she turned her back to Belial, nodding as she began to walk off to show him this supposed other BCR. Belial extended his wings before following, casting a glance back at the cave before vanishing with her.

Gimpi's heart was racing. He slipped into the cave and looked for Lace. He saw the BCR. He should save it... No one deserved to be raised by Belial. He scooped up the BCR and hide it. "Lace! Where are you." He could smell her but faintly. His heart was still thumping.

A familiar voice greeted her, ears raising in shock as she shifted behind the closed off section of the cave. Gimpi.... Her ears pinned against her head, paws tensing as her legs drew under her form, tail flicking around herself as she attempted to be as small as possible. Literally.
Why was he here? She didn't want him here... he needed to go. He needed to leave and never come back.
"Go away!" She cried back, eyes wild with panic and fear as her flames burst forth, sending the small "room" into a frenzy of flames and shadows that danced across the ceiling, hiding her form within it's lurking hot flames.
She wanted him to leave. She wanted him to never come back and never return for her. He was safer that way, he was safer far from her.

Go away? What was she saying? What did that vile Daeva do to her. He felt his heart drop. "W-what do you mean? Lace... It's Gimpi..." She was behind the wall. He put his paws onto the stone and tried to tear down the wall. "Lace please... We need to go... Demoda won't keep him occupied for long..." There was panic in his voice.

He was there. He was calling for her, he was touching the rocks. She let out a feeble snarl, having never been good at them in the first place, and not meaning it. No. He needed to go away. He needed to leave her side. "I said go, Gimpi!" She screeched back, head jerking back. "This is my fault! Gimpi constantly puts himself in danger for me! Gimpi could die! Yet.... I've been too selfish to realize!"
Her flames threatened, and burst through the cracks of the rocks, licking at his paws, threatening and attempting to burn. "Belial will not stop until I stay beside him. I.... I will not go home with Gimpi!" Her voice cracked. She was the cause of all of this. She was the reason he was here, she was the reason he had to save her constantly. She was unable to defend herself from the man that raised her, and unable to protect the man she loved.

He felt it. A numbing in his chest. He froze when he heard the snarl, heard he yelling to go way. It broke. The last thing keeping him sane wanted him gone. He grunted and took down the wall. He looked her in the eyes. His own were dark, he picked her up and took her away from Belial's cave. If he wanted him gone then fine. He would go.
*small time skip*
He made his way back to their cave and set her down. "Fine. I'm gone." Is voice was not the soft town but it was bitter and rough. He would let her keep the cave. He would find somewhere else. He walked away, too tired and broken to fly.

Despite her struggles, snarls, and attempts to burn her mate he had grabbed her and taken her away. When he set her down she watched him, extending her wings suddenly.
"I'm going back to Belial." Was all she said, watching her..... her.... She shuddered as she realized the damage she had done, but this was for the best. Extending her wings, she spotted the BCR, ears flipping back against her head. Oh. Who was that.... did it matter?
"I'm sorry." She feebly called out, expanding her wings. "The time Gimpi gave me was beautiful, but it was not worth the pain I brought to Gimpi. You will find someone that will not cause this trouble, and I...." She didn't say she wished the best for them, she couldn't. She couldn't utter the words, instead kicking off and heading back for the males cave.

He couldn't take it. He turned toward her, tail lashing, the BCR barely staying on his tail. For the first time in his life... He yelled. "Is that want you want!? Then fine! See if I care! Go get killed by that.. that monster! I've risked my life for you. There is another risking theirs for you too! Do you not care? So go ahead and be like Belial. You've already killed me." His eyes bore into her, they stung with hatred and tears. He turned his back again. Though deep down in him, even though he didn't feel it at the moment, there was a hope. A hope that she would stop him from leaving her.

Her eyes widened, shock flicking across them. How... he.... what? She barely listened, unable to comprehend his rage and anger. The woman choked a response, though it failed and fluttered back down her throat. What was she to say? What was she to do? She...
"I never asked to be saved!" She screamed back. She, too, never yelled. Ever. Her wings spread as her flames rose, new emotions surfacing. Anger.
"You don't care?! Gimpi doesn't care?! Liar! You.... you.... Gimpi, what do you understand?! Nothing! So what if I care?! I do! This should never have happened!" Her screams were becoming louder, frantic. "I knew this was wrong since the beginning! Belial would never let me leave! Maybe I have killed you, but I don't care, because Gimpi said he died once before, and yet he healed when he met me! There will be another me! I amount to nothing, Gimpi, for I am nothing more than Belial's pet! A pet Gimpi stole and Belial will never forgive him for unless I return!"
She was unsure where these emotions were pouring from, but the tears greeted them. She choked as she crumpled to the ground, trembling. "I've tried to be good, for both of you! Yet, no matter what I do, I can't save my loved one! I just want to run away! I just want to help! I want to stop his murderous intentions towards my loved one, and if I need to risk my life I will! You would, too! Gimpi would do this for me, how could he be this angry at me when he knows he would, too!"
With this, she let out another sob, jerking backwards and extending her wings, prepared to take flight. "Then, maybe I will not return to Belial." She whispered, perhaps feeding the hope Gimpi wanted, yet in seconds she was about to crush it. "Where I am going, neither of you will be able to find me, and I will be able to sleep forever."
With this, before Gimpi could respond, she darted off into the sky, heading for the one place that she felt safest.

He still yelled he couldn't stifle it. "There will never be another Lace in my life. There is only one Lace. The one I thought was mine." He knew he was breaking even more. His paws dug into the earth and he yelled toward it. "I need you Lace..." That was the only thing he could say now. The tears flowed. He was a pathetic being. He repeated the phrase till he couldn't anymore. His throat was tight and he collapsed on the spot. "I need you... I need... Lace." It came out as a whisper. He wanted her to hear it... but she was gone.

And so, she reached the special lake the two had played in long ago. She knew Gimpi would never forgive her, but she had no choice, did she? Would he ever find out, anyway? Would he ever discover what she was about to do? No. He wouldn't. He had said it himself, he no longer cared what she did, or who she became.
So, he would not care if this happened. She did. She cared, for this was the only logical way to her. Avoid Belial murdering Gimpi, for when the male told him he lost Lace and both realized she was gone, hell.... what more could Belial do? His interest in Lace was based around the fact he wanted a 'Daeva child, and she had been his for a brief time. Without her, he had little reasons, except random anger, to inflict harm. By then, Gimpi would be gone and safe from Belial, or so she hoped.
Her paws touched the water, the sounds of her flame sizzling as they vanished caused an ear to twitch. What would this be like, she questioned. The sleeves of her dressed dipped in the water, eyes closing as she padded ahead.
What was this like? What would this be? She'd find out.

He had to get up. Get a drink. He needed to move away from the cave, he could still see the little game they played before the whole thing happened. He would go to the lake. He didn't want to but it was the closest water source.
Once he arrived he felt like something was amiss. Under the water he noticed something grey. "No.." He darted into the water, the adrenaline once again kicking in. Time seemed to slow down and everything was against him. What if she didn't want to be saved again. Part of her said 'Let her Die.' He just couldn't. He fought to pull her up, fought to get her onto the shore.
He could barely breathe. "No... Please Lace.. Please be ok..." He rested his ears against her chest. He couldn't hear anything. He didn't think the clothing on her would keep him from hearing it. "Lace..." He fixed her hair. "Y-you're ok... Y-you have to be ok..." He curled around her, he wouldn't move.

The water had been so quiet, at first.
She had been happy, for once, under the water. It had been so quiet, and a place silent enough for her to remember the man she had come to love, and the memories they had shared, and some they didn't. By the time the suffocating sensation came in she was still happy, until her body became to kick and jerk and panic against her will. Oh. This is why they said drowning was the worst way to die.
She didn't remember blacking out, but apparently she had, for that was how Gimpi found her. Her eyes fluttered open weakly, body forcing itself to the side as she coughed out water, twitching and convulsing as coughs racked her body. Her wings pulled against her body as, without even meaning to, she burst into frantic sobs.
Was she that much of a failure she couldn't even kill herself? She hadn't seen Gimpi, simply curling into a tight ball and sobbing, her voice threatening to give out.
"I-I c-can't ev- even die properly!"

It was only a whisper but he spoke. "No... Don't die. I need you Lace..." He carefully draped a wing over her. Trying to give her back some warmth. "I'm sorry Lace... I didn't mean what I said. I do care. I care about you." He curled tighter around her. "Please don't leave me again Lace..."

His words sent shudders down her back as he curled around her, shaking from the cold and him. What was she to say now? She.. she wanted to jerk away, she almost did. Her flames refused to come out, too weak to do so. Her wings heavily stayed at her side, her claws twitching slightly.
"B-But Gimpi isn't safe with me.." She sputtered back, desperately looking up at him with huge, frightened eyes. "He would be safer without me!" Her voice cracked and she winced as her throat tightened, protesting to the volume she was using.
