Right as Bushkin was about to collide with Revyra, the purple mare flapped her way above her. Bushkin had far too much momentum to stop quickly enough to catch her. She couldn't even slow down enough to dodge. The blows struck her on her sweaty back but in her adrenaline-fueled mania Bushkin barely even noticed them. She shot right past Revyra and then dug her hooves into the ground. Like a crashing train, she came to a shuddering stop several lengths away from Revyra.
Her charge halted, she turned to stare down Revyra. The yellow flames from her eyes were practically an inferno, and the mare was set right in the middle of that vision.

Good, the kid had seen him. Now Vivace only had to get close enough to really give Kakumei some help. An unusually focused look had settled on Vivace's face as he moved through the crowd only thinking about getting Kakumei. When he heard the frightened tone coming from the foals mouth he began thinking that it would have been wiser to pay more attention to his surroundings.
Kalona! His eyes widened thinking that this was going to be the end of it only to find that the demon winged stallion had already left. After taking in enough air to settle the pounding in his heart he ran as quickly as he could to get to the pink foal, keeping one eye on the sky all the while. "Are you okay, Kakumei?" He asked looking at him while glancing every so often at the air. He could see the kalona and then another winged shape. He gaped as he realized that the second shape was his sister.
"Go get him, Bodhi." he said softly before directing his attention back to the foal. If Bodhi was fighting then Vivace was sure she'd be the victor.

Revyra had landed a solid blow on the draft mare. She could feel the impact reverberate all the way up her legs. So when the mare kept on moving a cold chill passed swiftly down her spine. This was not going to be an ordinary battle. Even a skinwalker would have reacted to an attack like that.
She settled into a fighting stance on the ground as the blazing-eyed mare turned about to face her. Revyra bowed her head not letting the size or the eerie nature of the mare rattle her. This was just another target. Her wings spread out around her once more ready to hide her movements or serve as her weapons or even her escape. "What are you waiting for?" She demanded keeping her voice dangerously calm. With this mare it would probably be best to keep up a dodge and counter-attack routine. An all out assault would surely end in Revyra's defeat.

Lyka would have died then and there--had she not figured out what was about to happen. She ducked down, flattening herself as the red wolf lunged, then shoving her shoulder up towards him as he sailed over her head, his fangs and claws scraping into her back. Apparently he wasn't a talker. Pity, that.
Alyna wasn't about to let Lyka die in front of her. So she stepped forward, kicking at the red wolf with her hooves. "Go away, you mangy red mutt!" she yelled at him. "Leave Lyka and me alone!"
Lyka didn't approve of Alyna's feeble attempts at fighting. She was sure the mare would hurt herself. But the old wolf knew she needed help. She just hoped the wolf would go away if it was outnumbered.

He had missed his first attack. A shame. At least he had gotten in some damage. As he was turning about for another attack a hoof came crashing down in front of him. He growled low in his throat at the mare before biting into her leg. If she wanted to join the fight than he was going to teach her exactly what a wolf was capable of. He could care less that his was outnumbered at this point. A silly mare and an old wolf weren't as much of a match for him as they may have hoped.

Celestia had paused on the edge of the fray. The other wolves had separated earlier and she was still without a target. Her keen sight narrowed. The plan had been to go after foals but the one that had caught Celestia's eye now seemed to have a bodyguard. That didn't matter. The she-wolf locked her gaze on the pink unicorn foal and started approaching as silently as she could from the rear. If she could get close enough perhaps she could launch a successful ambush and at least attempt to cripple the foal. Slinking forward Celestia lowered her body to the ground and moved in.

Kakumei gratefully huddled in the shadow of Vivace. He hypothetically knew how to defend himself a little but all of that had flown out of his brain. His knees shook in fear and he stared with trepidation up at the sky. His aunt Bodhisattva was fighting the kalona. He wanted to cheer her bravery but also wanted to shout at her to fly away fast.
"Let's go. We have to find my mom," he whispered to Kakumei, not daring to speak any louder. With his eyes locked on the sky, he had no idea that a wolf was stalking him at that very moment...

It seemed that the her target's attention was on the aerial battle above. It didn't seem like the larger male had spotted her as well. Her luck could only last for so long though. Celestia had managed to get within pouncing distance but it wasn't close enough. Things could go wrong. She wanted to get closer. Maybe savage the little one's legs so he couldn't run. Almost methodically Celestia closed the distance between herself and Kakumei. Her gaze narrowed in on the colt's back legs. Timing was essential. Celestia snuck forward a few more paces before lunging at Kakumei's legs - jaws open Even if she missed it was feasible to knock the foal over.

Everything just continued to go downhill! Just as Deva had settled on his plan the wolves turned back to the herd and this stallion was quickly catching up to him. Though his heart was racing with more than just the effort of keeping up his pace, he kept his mind focused on his pendant. It was the only thing keeping him from doing something really stupid out of panic. No, instead he would do something stupid out of the love for his family. He would put himself between them and these attackers.
Suddenly he took to the sky, trying to forget that there was a kalona patrolling around somewhere. He was much faster in the air than he was on the ground, but more importantly he was faster than the wolves. If he could just cut them off before they reached the herd then he could turn their attention back on himself. And they were less intimidating than Lagia, probably because Deva had never had an encounter with wolves before. But at the speed in which the other stallion moved he wouldn't have long with just the familiars. He'd have to do his best to inflict as much damage as possible before facing all of them at once.

Luckily for Deva, Xelloss was indeed distracted enough not to try to drive him out of the sky. Bodhisattva and Xelloss were firmly locked in aerial combat. Bodhisattva was fast but the kalona was more maneuverable. Though she kept trying to gain altitude on him and knock him to the ground he kept dodging out of the way just in time. His attacks went likewise. She had a few nicks and scratches but no serious injuries. It was surprisingly difficult to do real damage when trying not to fall out of the sky at the same time.
They were almost flying side by side now. She didn't know what the kalona was planning but wasn't going to wait around to find out. Curling her wings sharply, Bodhi swerved sideways, trying to body slam him and knock him off balance.

Xelloss twisted out of the way of the mare's clumsy attack and slashed at her with his tail as he did. He hadn't done much damage yet, but what the mare didn't know is that it was because he chose not to do much damage. He was toying with her as a cat might play with a mouse shortly before the kill. He was only using half his strength to dodge or attack. He didn't want this to be over too quickly. It wouldn't be fun if it was.
He spared a glance for the golden stallion that was flapping around but gave him no further attention.

"Right." Vivace agreed nodding at the foal. The only question was what was the fastest way out of the commotion without moving through anyone's battle ground. As his eyes swept over the area just behind Kakumei he realized that they'd been sitting in their own personal battleground without noticing it. "Kakumei, look out!" he shouted trying to push the foal out of the wolf's path. He wasn't much of a fighter but he'd be damned if he just let the kid duke it out on his own training or no training.

Kakumei had no time to feel anything. He staggered sideways from Vivace's push and was suddenly falling again. The wolf was leaping at him but he couldn't possibly react while tumbling over. He hit the ground for the second time that day and felt a moment of intense disorientation. Then, he noticed the wolf's jaws closed around one of his legs.
It hadn't caught him so firmly as it could have if Vivace hadn't shoved him out of the way, but Kakumei still felt the blazing hot feeling of the teeth piercing through his skin. He immediately screamed shrilly and began twisting around, trying to free himself from that terrible grip.

Celestia could feel her teeth close around the foal's leg. She hung on tightly as Kakumei began twisting around trying to dislodge her. The snarl that passed through her clamped jaws was probably less threatening than she intended. The iron taste of blood was on her tongue. Her teeth had definitely punctured the foal's skin. Celestia shook her head back and forth with a savage air. She wanted a deeper grip but was afraid to let go in order to find better purchase. Kakumei's struggles also did not help her. The flailing around that he was doing was actually working against Celestia.
However it was the taste of blood on her tongue that caused the she-wolf to continue hanging on. This foal was her prey. She'd brought him down. There was still danger all around her but her attention was solely on Kakumei's shrill screams. As long as the foal was screaming it meant she still had work to do. Her powerful jaws sought a stronger grip.

Pushing Kakumei to the side hadn't worked quite as well as Vivace had been hoping. The wolf had him. Vivace's ears went back as his eyes narrowed in a fury at the sound of Kakumei's screams. There probably wasn't a soul alive that could just sit back and watch no matter how happy go lucky they were.
"Let him go!" He ordered aiming a kick at the wolf's side to avoid accidentally striking Kakumei. It wouldn't do to strike the boy that he was supposed to be protecting right now. He would never be able to live with himself.
