He'd been on the cusp of something especially when he was staring back at her eyes and then she moved away as she spoke. It was as if his heart shattered all over again - he'd taken it as rejection.
Of course. Why would she want to kiss him again? It'd just make things awful. It would terrible and it would ruin everything.
Kettil determined to just move on from this wore his smile and let out a quiet thoughtful sound, "Want to watch a movie with me or somethin'? I mean I got the entire day just to spend with m'best mate," as much as it made his heart ache oddly just then he didn't want to part from her.

Lark offered a bright smile and gestured towards the small skellyvision that sat across from the loveseat.
The loveseat that would seat them both but in very close quarters. Lark could do this. One movie and then he would go back to his dorm and she could figure out where to go next. Lark wasn't entirely sure how much more of this she could take.
"'course," she pointed at the small basket where a few movies were kept. "Pick what y'wanna watch."
That being said, Lark flopped back on the loveseat and crossed her arms over her chest.
She could do this.

He meandered over to the basket taking a moment to try and compose himself as he picked out a movie called 'Undead Silence' and then went ahead to put it in the appropriate player so the movie could start. Kettil seated himself right next to Lark and unlike her he pretty much sprawled leaning slightly against her side.
It was a common thing for him to do. Just invade space and take it over at will moreso when Lark was involved.
"Ready," he announced with a cheerful tone.
Just pretend everything is alright. Pretend you didn't get rejected in some roundabout way. Everything was perfect this way.

It amazed Lark that he could just act like everything was fine. It just made the ghoul want to do the same thing just because he was acting like they hadn't just had a few very intense conversations.
She could do it.
As the movie played, Lark allowed herself to relax. When the movie finished, everything felt like it was almost normal. Almost. Once Kettil was gone... Lark didn't sleep for hours. She really needed a ghoulfriend. Someone she could talk to. Someone she could trust.
Because as much as Lark wanted to convince herself that she could do this? She couldn't, and that was a terrifying realization.
