"Suuu..." Pikachirisu purred, moving her head around so he could rub just the right spots behind her big, mismatched ears. She closed her eyes, thoroughly enjoying the attention she was getting. She could definitely trust Gepardo; there was no way anything bad could come from a human with such kind hands!

Gepardo chuckled as he kept petting her, now with both hands. "Hmmm....how about...Manticore? After that mythical creature..." He smiled and looked at Velasco. "What do you think?"

The murkrow just chirped.

Pikachirisu's ears perked up at the sound of her new name. "(Manticore? Is that my new name?)" she asked, looking at Velasco. "(It sounds tough.") She paused for a moment, considering. Then she smiled. "(I like it!)"

He nodded quickly. "(Yeah, that's your new name, a bit of a mouthful, huh?)" Velasco chuckled and tilted his head. "(Yes, very tough sounding.)"

Gepardo smiled. "So you like it, good" Keep petting her, rubbing under her chin. "Now, manty, we are going to have you weighed and measure you....So if ever find another one of you we can compare notes to see what the average shall be."

Manticore's eyes closed in pure bliss as her chin was scratched-- clearly, she was putty in Gepardo's hands. She wasn't exactly sure what measuring and weighing would entail, but she didn't mind it so long as she was being petted.

Manty the pikachirisu! She liked the sound of it. Maybe her name would be enough to scare away potential predators! Though with Gepardo and Velasco (and perhaps Nishant) around, she might not need to worry so much about enemies. Groups were more likely to survive than individuals, after all, and that was a comforting thought.

Gepardo gently picked her up, still petting, and took her to a small weight scale use on the smaller pokemon. Putting her down he removed his hands, but kept them around her to keep her from getting off the scale. "Stay still for a moment, Manti..."

Manticore tried to walk off of the scales, but held still on Gepardo's command. She already found herself trusting him-- how could she not, after being bribed with delicious berries and wondrous pets?-- and sitting on the scales wasn't any more uncomfortable than sitting on the table. She weighed in at the heavier side, closer to a pikachu than a pachirisu, but still a good weight for her size. No doubt all the berries she had just downed made an unflattering impact on the scale's numbers.

Gepardo took out his notebook and wrote down the weight. "Huh....well, i suppose if your mother was a pikachu you would have a large weight then pachirisu...." He mumbled and tapped her nose gently with the butt of his pencil. "We'll weight you again tomorrow....BEFORE eating...." He chuckled and pulled her off the scale, setting her back on the table as he took out a measuring tape. He measure her from the tip of her nose to her romp, and then from nose to tail. "Stand up, Manti, let see how tall your on all four paws."

Manticore patted her bulging belly. Weighing wasn't such a big deal, but would she really have to do it again before eating? She didn't like waiting for breakfast!

She stretched herself out obediently, standing with the best posture she was capable of. This seemed like a strange new game to her, but she didn't mind it. Those berries had come from Gepardo, after all; probably he would give her some more if she played along!

The man looked very happy as he jolted down the measurements. "Hmmm...Well, I can only assume that your mother was a pikachu, since that's the size you seemed to be closer to..." He gently scratched under her chin. "That was very good, Manti"

"Suu!" Manticore chirruped happily, closing her eyes as her chin was rubbed. Weighing and measurements weren't bad; especially when they came with pettings! She flicked her fluffy tail like a squirrel and leaned against Gepardo's hand. How funny that she had only recently thought that humans were dangerous!

Picking her up in his arms, he recalled Nishant back into his pokeball and let his murkrow come rest on his shoulder. "Hmm, I'll have to see how to combine pachirisu and pikachu food....Its a good thing that their diets aren't all that different..."

Manticore perked up at the word 'food.' Hooray, he was going to keep feeding her after all! "(I guess I don't mind sticking around, then!)" she said to him. "(You're nice!)" She hadn't yet realized that humans didn't understand pokemon language!

Gepardo laughed softly. "What a cute chatter..."

Murkrow tilted his head slightly as he listen to Manty. "(You do know that humans don't understand us, right?)"

"(What!)" Manticore exclaimed. "(How do they communicate? Humans sure are weird! I guess I have a lot to learn still...)" It was intimidating. What else didn't she know? What else did she need to learn in order to survive among humans and tame pokemon? She thought longingly of the wild, where she at least knew all the hows and whys of her life. But she also remembered the food that Gepardo had provided, and quickly decided that the language barrier wasn't that bad. At least she could understand his English, even if he couldn't understand what she said.
