Nat blinked hazily. She was so confused! All she wanted was to go home and have a good cry.

-One Week Later- Her bags were packed and out on the lawn a 'for sale' sign dangled. Her dad's small house on the outskirts of the bad end of San Diego was no longer her home. Nat gave the place a sad look and shouldered her pack. She had few bags, only two suitcases and a carry on to hold all of her worldly possessions. She wandered slowly back to the front of the house, passing her fingers along the familiar walls. She took one last look behind her before stepping out onto the lawn and shutting the door behind her. She wore the key to her house around her neck. A memento. Her thoughts wandered as she waited for her ride. She was off to a new military program. Something like ROTC. For her dad.

A black sedan drove up to the house on the market, the driver in a military uniform got out waiting on Nat.

Nathalia hefted her pack and gave the house one more sad look before stepping forward and walking swiftly to the van. She nodded to the driver and slipped inside. She never wanted to come back to this place, this neighborhood. Perhaps her chance to get out was now. She slammed the door shut and crossed her arms. She was ready to go.

A uniformed Marine opened the door for Nat and waited until she slid in the back seat and entered after her. From there, the dark sedan drove to the NAS North Island in Coronado, which the driver flashed an ID to go past various security check points to one of the airstrips.
Once there, the marine opened the door toward the awaiting special VTOL transport. The dress uniformed officer nodded and smiled at Nat, "Good luck to you, Miss. Fair winds and following seas."

Nat smiled stiffly and nodded. She stepped inside and prepared for the trip.
