xxxxSerpentine Artuga | District 2 Astrayl turned and smiled in reply, the most reaction Serpentine could ever coax out of him. He was a very solemn guy. The most she'd ever seen him do in terms of emotions was a smile, and even that was just a tilt of his lips. He contrasted drastically to the spontaneous temper tantrums both of her brothers have. Astrayl summed up in a few sentences his day's work, showing her a nasty wound near his collarbone. Serpentine guessed that he had patched it up during one of his breaks, eyeing the piece of cloth crudely wrapped around it.
Serpentine tossed her hair. It swung behind her back like fiery red waves. She sighed dramatically and dropped down next to him, hanging her legs over the side of the building. She knew that Astrayl came up here sometimes for the view. She couldn't understand what he saw. It was just a stupid landscape. Other things were more important. Food, for example, and training. Glory, pride. All benefits of the Hunger Games. Serpentine flicked her tongue over her lips. If only she was chosen this year!
"Training, training, training," Serpentine said. "Your parents aren't exactly the merciful type, are they. If they're going to give you some lessons on survival, they should at least give you one on how to patch up injuries, seeing how you seem to have plenty of those daily." Serpentine sighed again. She'd never met his parents, but from the way Astrayl described them to her, and his 'souvenirs,' she wasn't sure she wanted to. Even her parents were a bit nicer. Her mother bites, but only by word. Her father didn't do much discipline-wise. He just gave her and her brothers instructions, and told them to practice.
"Y'know, you really should come over to my place for a training session one of these days," Serpentine continued. She tended to ramble in Astrayl's presence. "I mean, my mother ain't exactly Miss Sunshine either, but boy, will you get a kick out of beating my brother's wimpy butts. I did exactly that earlier today. Literally! I ran him into the ground. 'Course, my mom takes my brother's side, but as long as I know it, and Valiance knows it, then that's fine by me. I could probably whip Audacity's butt too, but probably only on one of my good days. He's still one-up me in terms of strength and... vulgar-ness, I suppose? He's absolutely ghastly. Did I tell you what they did today, Audacity and Valiance? No, I don't suppose so. They bickered at dinner tonight. Over a piece of gooseling, if I remember correctly. Gooseling! I tell you, bits of food were flying everywhere. It was not pretty. I almost gagged - no, I'm pretty sure I did gag. And to think they're Mother's favorites!" she scoffed.

Astrayl continued to chew on his piece of bread as Serpentine talked about his parents. He smiled and laughed a bit when she mentioned his poor medical skills. To him the bandaging really didn't matter sense he was always going to get another one. He took another bite when Serpentine switched subjects towards her family. The first sentence caught him a little off guard when she mentioned that he should come over to train sometime. His parents didn't like him training with other families, they said it reveals too many secrets to other potential career tributes. To Astrayl, it seemed like a stupid rule. He already knew that among most of the career tributes in sector 2 that he was one of the stronger ones. Most of the other kids knew about it because of all the fights he stopped during school. Anytime he felt that someone was getting in some unnecessary violence he would pick them up and throw them away from the fight.
When Serpentine mentioned her brothers he couldn't help but smile a bit. Like her, he was the one of three siblings in his family. Astrayl did have two older brothers that both participated in the hunger games. His oldest brother Savage was one of the last ones to survive but was stupid enough to get caught in a simple trap laid out but one of the already dead tributes. His other brother Carson died from a arrow to the head. Hearing Serpentine talk about her brothers made him think about his brothers for a minute and what it would have been like if they group up together as a family.
That's the other thing Astrayl likes about Serpentine, she talks bad about her family a lot but deep down he thinks she really likes them. He tuned in back to the conversation. After she finished about the gooseling, he ripped his bread in two and offered her the other piece. "I like to hear you talk about your family. You make a lot of funny expressions." He smiled at her.

Daniel heard crying, He looked around in confusion, unable to see in the inky black darkness, that is called night. He listened closely and followed the sound until he ran into a person. He fell to the ground and looked up. He could make out the basic outline to tell it was a young girl. He had no idea who it was but he could tell it was a girl. "Hello? A-are you alright?" He asked standing up and brushing off his clothes, which did no good because they were covered in grime and dirt. He looked at the shape and waited for an answer hoping and praying it wasn't boy troubles. That was the last thing he needed, a weepy girl who just got dumped. Ugh, worst thing in the world that is. ๑۞๑๑۞๑๑۞๑Daniel LeonhartなにぬDistrict 11๑๑۞๑๑۞๑

For a moment she sat there, stunned, but then she got up tried to brush some of the mess off of her clothes. "Yes, I think so." she replied, unsurity coloring her voice. With her left she hurriedly dried her eyes, just in case the stars above were bright enough for the boy to see by. "It's just the Games, you know? The worry, the panic that you'll be picked at no one will be left to take of the little ones." Wren clarified, feeling the need to spill her guts. Even if they never met again, he would understand. Anyone would understand, because they all lived through it, all had to handle it. It was a bit of kindreship that all shared just for a little while. ⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿{OurOctoberCalendar: ...}

Daniel nodded, not that the girl could see it. "Yeah....The little ones..." He muttered, feeling a sudden impending doom and he heaved a heavy sigh. He understood the fear, the uncertanty, the need to tell everything to this person you may never see again. He wanted to help her feel better but that's impossible when you feel just as bad isn't it? Daniel pulled his hood back, and he tried to not cry about thinking about his little sisters, What if he never saw them again? Lissa, Emma and Allison? What if he never saw Matt again? ๑۞๑๑۞๑๑۞๑Daniel LeonhartなにぬDistrict 11๑๑۞๑๑۞๑

I didn't focus on the part where I killed twenty-three different human beings, that wasn't relevant to my nine year-old self." Wren laughed a hard, cold laugh at her past stupidity, "Funny how things change when you suddenly become responsible for two little kids and an old man who's got one foot in the grave." Her voice quavered at bit, and before she even realized it, she was crying again. ⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿{OurOctoberCalendar: ...}

Daniel laughed harshly at remembering his stupid dream. It sounded the same but different in so many ways. "Sounds like my dream...But a little different...I dreamed for my mom and dad to be alive again...My Aunt to not be so controlling and abusive....But that could never happen..." He scoffed and looked at her. "Yeah, they change to much. I don't even know how to deal with three little girls...and an older brother..." Daniel sighed, holding back the flood of tears that would be comming next. ๑۞๑๑۞๑๑۞๑Daniel LeonhartなにぬDistrict 11๑๑۞๑๑۞๑

Daniel looked at Wren. He thought for a second debating on weather it was worth telling this girl his name. She would just forget it in a second, he was that one kid in every class that always disappeared after he got introduced. "Daniel. Daniel Leonhart. And I cannot die. Not until I know someone is there to take care of my older brother and sisters."๑۞๑๑۞๑๑۞๑Daniel LeonhartなにぬDistrict 11๑๑۞๑๑۞๑

And with that, she truned and walked back to her home, with a glance back to see Daniel standing there. ⑪✿⑪✿⑪ Wren sat up in bed, yawning and stretching. "Michael...Mik-k-ka...Wake up, ya'll need to get ready for the new day." she coaxed with little nudges to the little lumps under the ragged blanket. "You too gramps. It's the day of the Tribute selection, we can't be late." Wren flung the blanket off the bed, and started warming up some more oatmeal. As the food cooked, Wren set out her sibling's best clothes, a semi-worn out dress and a cleaned shirt and pants, on the bed. "Wakey wakey. First one ready gets half an apple slice!" she called, and in response there was a flurry of movement from that side of the room. ⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿{OurOctoberCalendar: ...}

Daniel turned and walked back to the old alley. He didn't look back, he could't bear to look back.

Daniel was sleeping on the cold ground huddling up with the three girls and Matt. He pushed them off of him and sat up. "Comeon guys! Its time to get up, ya lazy bums!" He said and shook them all awake.๑۞๑๑۞๑๑۞๑Daniel LeonhartなにぬDistrict 11๑๑۞๑๑۞๑

xxxxSerpentine Artuga | District 2 Serpentine took the offered piece of bread and bit into it. Ranting about her brothers tended to work up an appetite. The bread was still slightly fresh; it was warm and soft. The crust was just right. She liked to hear it crackle in her mouth when she bit down.
"I like to hear you talk about your family. You make a lot of funny expressions," Astrayl said.
"I what?" Serpentine shrieked, eyes wide. She promptly slapped Astrayl upside the head. "I do not! Bugger." she muttered.
The huge church tower bell in the middle of the town began ringing, signalling the late hour. Serpentine counted the number of times it rang, and sprang to her feet. "Oh, bollocks!" she cursed. "Oh, if I'm not home real soon, my parents will have my hide. And my brothers will watch as they do it! I wish you much luck tomorrow, Astrayl! Good night!" She ran off, leaping across buildings, and dropped lightly down one, vanishing into the night.

Suddenly a loud voice could be heard ringing through out each district. It was a petite female voice that held a lot of authority. She demanded that all men and women eligible to become a tribute report to the center of their town. In just a few moments the names for the hunger games were to be drawn.

Daniel hurried Lissa, Emma and Allison to get ready. "Matt! You are supposed to be helping me! What the hell are you doing?!" He called and looked at the three girls. They were in their simple dresses. He smiled and said, "You three all look so pretty!" He sighed and turned down the alley. He saw a pile of Matt's clothes. He turned and went into Matt's 'room' with a door made of a sheet and some rope. Not very sturdy if you ask me. Oh well. He walked in and saw that Matt had nothing on besides boxers. "Daniel! Get out of my room!" He shouted. "Matt! Stop being heterosexual and pick something to wear! We have to go! Daniel retaliated. He threw his arms up in frustrated defeat. He walked back over to the girls. He fixed Lissa's hair bow and Emma's hat. Allison smiled at Daniel. Daniel smiled weakly back at Allison. Matt finally walked out of his 'room' and glared at Daniel. Daniel ignored him and they all started walking together towards the center of town. ๑۞๑๑۞๑๑۞๑Daniel LeonhartなにぬDistrict 11๑๑۞๑๑۞๑
