"I met a few... and then Sharpie ruined someones coat they tried to beat me up I ran and we got here." He shrugged, "Guess it worked out after a bit, though I didn't really save you to be honest."
He frowned reaching over placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, "They'll be okay. I'm sure of it." He offered a small smile before leaning back to adjust his glasses again.
"Guess we just wait it out now don't we?"

"Thanks," she said, with a faint smile. "And... um, I guess you didn't save me... technically, but if you hadn't shown up I would have been a lot more scared," she admitted, looking down for a moment. "I'm not used to being attacked by things. Where I live, out in the country, is pretty quiet. There's woods and stuff, but we have agreements and things to keep everyone happy..."

"Your more then welcome." He nodded towards her scribbling some more. "You did fine though, you seem to have a good idea how to use your new magic." He grinned, "Out by the woods? I came from the great swamps near the Old Lando ruins." He sighed, "We did get attacked a lot sadly... no agreements, just well, survival of the strongest ya know?"

"Really? That must be real wild country, then... ours is all candy-apple orchards and corn fields. Candy corn, children of the corn, that kind of thing. All farms. All... tamed, I guess? It was nice, though. We didn't have mauls." She made a face at the Maul in general. "I think maybe we had the right idea. This trip to the Maul wasn't fun at all..."Shibey jumped off her shoulder and padded over to sniff at Sharpie with a casual air.

"Not wild, just dark and deadly. It's rather calm if you know where your going and what your doing." He slipped the journal back into his jacket. "As for Mauls we had a village trade post, and if you went to New Lando or Old Lando you could find more places to trade. Very rural old money, old power."
He glanced around, "I'll agree though, this maul is all trouble today..."
Sharpie blinked a paw raising to bat at Shibey, leaving a black paw print on the white of the contractors fur. "Can I help you?" If he sniffed closely he would notice the overpowering smell of ink and FEAR radiating from the cat.

Shibey turned and looked at the ink now staining his fur, patting at it lightly with one paw before turning back, apparently unruffled by the whole affair. "Shibey..." Anna said, her tone just the tiniest bit warning. Then she cleared her throat awkwardly and focused on False again. "It sounds... um, exciting. My family doesn't have enough power to stand up to, um, anything. Our name is old? But if our power's old, it's old and faded. I guess."< Until us, > Shibey projected, calmly. Anna looked uneasy for a moment.

Sharpie was of course un-phased by the lack of reaction, well mostly. He did blink twice himself and c**k his head to the side as Shibey ignored him again.
"Exciting is one word," False stated, "Deadly is another," added the cat.
"The Swamps are interesting, your not standing up to others often so much as the wilds. Things too mad with time and age to understand what they are and why. Imagine everyone you met today, as an undead abomination focused purely on consuming FEAR and Souls. That's what you face out there, creatures who went Hallow as we say."
He glanced at the familiar talking to all of them by projection. "Some magic runs deeper then a familiar..."
