BUBBLING BREW FOR BOTCHED BABBENS
A recipe

Begin at the stroke of the witching hour
To brew a tonic with a wicked power
Set the cauldron atop a blazing flame
And call out the expectant parents’ name
Drop in a lock of each phony’s mane
With withered blossoms of wolf’s bane
Crack open the contents of a glowstick
Mix it with the essence of fog so thick
A single long ebony raven’s feather
Ensures mother will not be under the weather
Next the voodoo doll and pins
Will give them mischievous grins
Fluttering bat wings and sharp wolf canines
Crush together until it all combines
As the concoction comes to a boil
We’re nearly finished with this snake oil
Continue to let the mixture bubble
Add a scarecrow’s straw on the double
Remove from the flame and let it cool
Garnish with finely chopped toadstool
For taste add a bit of spice, just a dash
And some bubbly champagne, just a splash!
A pinch of glitter from a Hallow's Eve mask
Before you pour it all into a silver flask
With a strong grip give it a hard shake
Mix it up well for there’s much at stake
Is this strange brew a trick or is it a treat?
Only the midwife knows till there’s babbens to greet.
