"Goodbye, Svella," Herryk called over his shoulder before the door closed behind him. His arms were laden with their bags and the basket so he could not wrap an arm around her like he would've liked. No matter. They were on the tail end of this particular journey.
"Herryk will bring Freya back to visit soon," he said softly, a smile on his lips. He was relieved that they'd gotten along. Herryk had been worried that Svella had planned on going on a tangent about the downfalls of valkyries, but he'd been very adamant that Svella behave herself.
"Freya is also welcome to visit on her own. Svella is a very nice witch." He gave her a quick look. "Herryk apologizes for not having brought Freya sooner.. it just.. well, it didn't seem like the best time."
There was but one street that ran the length of the town. As they leisurely made their way to the end of the road, a thickly wooded forest loomed before them. Herryk hesitated for a brief moment. Would she even be interested in what he'd planned to show her?

Freya did not plan on visiting Svella on her own anytime soon.. she wasn't /that/ comfortable with her yet. Still, she nodded quietly, and let him lead her off. "Why are yeh apologizings? Herryk, I knows it feels like I've loved yeh my entire life, but if yeh thinks about it, we actually haven't had much free times together because we haven't been together that longs. Yeh really has nothings teh apologize for!"
She scoured the area as they walked through the little town, her eyes soaking in the scenery for all it was worth. When they started to head into the woods, however, Freya's arm tightened slightly. "So, where are we goings?"

Herryk cleared his throat as they moved deeper into the woods. This had been a terrible idea. Would she understand how much this meant to him? Herryk hoped so. He wasn't sure what he would do if she didn't understand.
"Herryk is.. nervous." He gave a short laugh. It was stilted and strained but he couldn't help it.
They broke into a small clearing. The earth was rich and coated with fallen leaves. It was rather secluded and quiet where they were, and Herryk set their bags on the ground at his feet. He placed the basket down as well, turning to offer Freya a hesitant smile.
"Here." He reached for the blanket, spreading it out and indicating that Freya should take a seat. "This is where Herryk wanted to bring Freya."

When his answer was just explaining how nervous he was, Freya's goosebumps began to raise. She fell into silence, and stole furtive glances at him every so often, until they finally found the clearing. Her eyes scanned the pretty area, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips, and she let him go to take a deep breath in and look around. She heard him settling everything down behind her, and her head turned over her shoulder when the blanket settled on the ground.
It was pretty, and it was quiet, and obviously special to Herryk, but why?
She turned fully and flopped down on the blanket, the fluff of her dress splaying out in a complete circle around her, hiding her legs from view. "It's very beautifuls." She murmured quietly, the curiosity in her voice evident.

Herryk sat next to Freya and placed the basket before her. He leaned back on his elbows, crossed his ankles and watched her closely.
"This is where Herryk came from. Where Herryk ... woke up." He gestured with a broad hand in a vague motion. "This area, at least. Herryk does not know exactly where. It was very confusing in the beginning." The draugr traced his fingers up her arm, jerking his chin at the basket.
"Open it."

A heavy feeling settled in Freya's heart when she realized why this spot was special, and she placed her hand where she felt it, rubbing it gently. Her eyes took another look around, as if seeing it all over again for the first time, before her other hand finally touched the ground.
"Oh." She breathed out softly, her voice a sad sigh. "Oh," The more meaningful sound exhaled from her, and she found herself at a loss for words. She looked up at the draugr when he touched her, her lip sliding between her teeth as they bit down on it. He was gesturing to the basket, and her eyes furrowed in confusion, before she reached out to unravel whatever it was inside. She had assumed it was a picnic - that's what baskets are for, after all.

Freya's assumptions would be correct. The basket was packed to the brim with various delicacies: meatballs in a peppery savory sauce; the odd cut of venison in a thick brown gravy which was paired with a dense loaf of sliced bread; vegetable and meat dumplings; biscuits and sweet jam; rich mutton soup with potatoes and other root vegetables; and even a few bits of jerky. Utensils and napkins were also included, as were plates, mugs and small bowls. To drink, a large jug of spiced cider, and for dessert there were two options: a thick sponge cake topped with apples or a rich custard with a tart berry compote.
"Herryk wanted to cook these things for Freya, but nothing was coming together right." He gave a small laugh, sitting up and rearranging himself so that he was seated behind Freya, his legs spread out on either side of her. A comfortable, muscled chair that she could lean against if she desired -- and Herryk could busy himself with touching her while she ate. "Herryk spoke to Svella, and Svella helped Herryk plan this meal. Herryk hopes these are all things that Freya will enjoy eating."
Herryk wrapped his hands around her waist, just enjoying the feel of her body beneath his hands. He continued speaking but his hands were in constant motion against her soft flesh. Gentle brushes against her waist, the trailing touch of his fingers against her back.
"Freya looks so very beautiful today," he murmured against her shoulder before dropping a kiss there. "This place.. it is important to Herryk and so Herryk wanted to share this place with his most beloved."

Freya dug through the basket, her eyes widening and her breath sucking up in gasps with every new thing she pulled out of it. Finally, when the meatballs were pulled out and she opened them to smell the meat wafting up at her, she let out an entirely inappropriate sound and curled up into a ball, twitching in bliss. "Oh gods, oh gods." She whimpered, climbing up into the 'chair' of his body and leaning heavily on him.
"Why yeh does this things, ohhh." She sighed in his arms, just.. just looking at all the beautiful food with reverent awe.
She barely managed to pull herself away from the sight when he complimented her, and turned her glazed eyes up to him while her mouth still hung open just slightly. It snapped shut when she registered what he was saying, and her skin flushed a dark shade of red. She reached her arms up behind her and wrapped them around his neck.
"It means so much to me that yeh wanted teh shares this place, Herryk." Her voice cracked, and her eyes glimmered with moisture. "It makes my heart hurts, to know what this means. I don't.. don't know how teh ever explains how much this means."

Herryk settled his hands aroud Freya's waist, a soft smile settling on his lips. He just stared at her face for the longest time before he leaned down to press a kiss to her lips. It was a quick kiss, almost reverent. "Herryk loves Freya," he whispered softly, "and ... now Freya should eat. Does this food look good?" He wasn't entirely sure if she would find all of the food appetizing which is why he'd requested that Svella prepare a variety of different things.
"Herryk would like to feed Freya if this is acceptable," he went on almost shyly, squeezing her hips with his hands. He dipped his head again and brushed his lips against her collarbone, slowly nibbling up her throat to her ear. He nipped at the lobe of her ear before pulling away to watch her intently.

Freya started bouncing in helpless excitement when he told her to eat, and she let out an exasperated groan.
"Can yeh not tells already that it all looks amazing? The only thing keepings me from attackings this foods likes an animal is-" His lips and teeth met the skin of her neck and stopped her sentence in it's tracks, interrupted by a tiny squeak escaping her throat. She melted against him, her head tilting to give him better access, and all but forgot about the food in front of her.
"Mmm." She settled back helplessly, the food all but forgotten. "Herryk can do whatever Herryk wants."

Herryk couldn't stop the chuckle that burst from his lips as he wrapped his arms even tighter around Freya. It faded quickly at her next words. No, no. He had this all planned out. Food first. Food first, and then he would see where things went from there. It was just difficult to stay on track when she was curled up in his lap.
Maybe food could wait. There was one thing that couldn't, though.
"Freya," Herryk spoke softly, his voice utterly serious. "There is just one other thing that Herryk..." He cleared his throat. This was proving to be more daunting than he'd anticipated. "Meatballs first?" Food was the safest topic. For now, at least.

Freya could hear the vibrato in his voice turn serious, and she looked up at him as if trying to discern what he was going to say just from his expression. When he urged her to go back to the food, she hesitated, but eventually acquiesced. She could still smell them, after all, and her body swayed forward to them, opening the bowls up and helping herself. Plates? Servings? Who needed these things? She found a fork, and she was set for life.
One bite of the meatballs, and she was making noises that no ghoul should ever make in a boil's arms. She stabbed another meatball and held it up to Herryk, her hand cradled underneath it to keep it from dripping. "Yeh has teh try this, baby boil, it's like eating bits of happiness... ach wait, yeh said yeh wanted teh feeds me, I am sorry!" She laughed at her failure to pay attention, and handed him the fork instead. "If yeh wants teh, yeh can eats it, or yeh can puts it in my mouth, I don't care."

Herryk's mouth worked and no noises came out. Finally he just grabbed the piece of meat off of the prongs of the fork and pressed the tender bit against Freya's lips. No, he had no intention of feeding the ghoul with forks and knives and spoons. He had no interest in the food itself -- if Freya was going to enjoy the food, Herryk was going to enjoy her while she enjoyed the food.
And he didn't give a Jack how messy it got.
The thick gravy threatened to dribble down Freya's chin if she didn't open her mouth, and Herryk just waited expectantly, brows lifted.

Freya watched him work, and tilted her head slightly to one side, waiting for some kind of response, or action, or something..
And then a meatball was shoved against her lips. Of course she opened her mouth, it was meat, and she'd already had a taste of it so she knew just how good it was. She just hadn't expected Herryk to feed her from his own hand, which was kind of sexy, but also.. kind of funny.
So when she accidentally let a little snicker escape, she bit it down by taking the meatball away and leaving Herryk with nothing but a kiss on his fingertips. She chewed it down and put her hand on her face, wiping it clean as another fit of giggles threatened to escape.
"Now yehr just making me makes a mess." She giggled out.
