Rika looked up from the floor to see a familiar face in front of her, grabbing her papers that had just gone everywhere. She sighed and winced as it seemed she had a textbook shoved into her chest with a heck of a lot of force. Managing to get to her feet, Rika dusted herself off and said, "Seren, we've got to stop meeting like this. This is the third time you've knocked me over in the hallway." She reached down and picked up a piece of paper that had gotten dislodged when Seren had bowled Rika over. Placing the piece of paper along with all the others, Rika smiled and said, "You're lucky it was me who caught you and not the Lt. I'm fairly certain he'd have been mad at you, he wasn't exactly in the best of moods today." Once Seren had all her papers, she calmed down immensely. Rika glanced around the hallway to see if there was anyone around; it seemed like they were the only ones there, everyone else having left for the day or gone into their offices.

Rika closed the short distance between the pair and planted a small kiss on top of Seren's head before saying, quietly enough so that only she would be able to hear it, "I''m going out tonight so I won't be able to come see you until later on. Don't wait up for me unless you're doing homework alright?" Rika would have preferred to talk a little more with Seren, but at that moment, another officer rounded the corner and Rika quickly switched gears saying, loud and serious enough so that it would seem like she was actually lecturing Seren, "I don't want to catch you running in the halls like that again, I don't care how much of a hurry you're in. Now, off you go." Rika moved around Seren and headed to her office, glancing back towards Seren with a small smile on her face. When she reached her office, she spent little time in gathering her things and leaving after putting her coat on. Rika lived further away than Tai did, but not too far. Unlike his apartment, her building was full of regular, albeit a bit higher class than normal, people. She had inherited the high class apartment from her aunt and uncle, who didn't live on this particular colony anymore; the place was paid off in full, so she didn't have to spend any of her money on rent or mortgage. Heading inside, she took off her coat and made a beeline for her bedroom.

Rika sighed as she removed her pilot suit, tossing it aside in a heap as she headed into the bathroom. After a quick shower and a brief bit of time on her far from unmanageable hair, Rika headed to her closet to find what she was going to wear. She removed a white dress shirt and black belt from her closet and laid them out on her bed before moving back to the closet to find what she wanted to wear over the shirt. After looking through her options she settled on an old favorite; a very very dark blue, almost black suit. It was relatively fancy; it seemed to give off an aura of refinement, and at the same time make it seem not too stuffy or snobbish. She carefully laid it out on the bed next to the shirt, before turning back to the closet. She reached up to the shelf above the clothes and hangars and took out a shoebox, containing a number of different colored and patterned ties. She looked through the box quickly and found one she deemed suitable; a solid red, that wasn’t too bright, which would stick out but blend well at the same time.

Having found all the necessary components to her outfit, Rika started getting dressed. As she buttoned the suit up, she looked in the mirror, appraising her appearance. Pleased, she reached into the inside pocket of the suit and pulled out a pair of leather gloves that matched the color of the suit. She pulled them on and headed back over to the closet, to find her footwear. She looked through her numerous boots, heels and other shoe types, before finally settling on a smaller heeled shoe that went well with her suit. She pulled on a pair of long socks and slipped her feet into the shoes before looking at herself in the mirror again; she’d have to remind herself to take a picture of the way she looked in the outfit and slip it to Seren somehow. Smiling to herself, Rika stepped out of her bedroom and grabbed her wallet and keys on the table on the way out. As she walked down the street towards the casino district, Rika remembered that she didn't know what casino Tai was actually going to. She pulled out her phone and texted him "Just remembered that I didn't know what casino you're going to. Care to enlighten me so I don't get lost and then assaulted in an alleyway and brought up on murder charges while claiming self defense?" This long-winded text message was Rika's round about way of saying she didn't want to go casino hopping just to find out where Tai was. She slipped her phone back in her pocket and continued walking, heading for a batch of casinos she knew well.

By the time everyone else had finished their round of the training session, Elise Vanor had already made it back to her room to get changed out of her pilot suit. In her opinion, that training session had been boring and unsuccessful. Also, the fact that her squad hadn't bothered to keep up with her pace was irritating. It didn't help that her goal of not getting hit by Rika in training the entire week was now ruined. Enough said, right? As such, Elise Vanor was not in a very good mood right now. Her mood was more sour than usual, some people would say.

After unlocking the door with the nifty key card she and her room mate both had copies of, she stepped into the darkened room. She simply stood there for a little bit, in the dark. After a brief second, Elise could contain herself no longer as her fists were now shaking from how tightly she had her fists clenched. One of her fists literally punched the wall next to the door. It was only after that, that she flipped on the lights so she could see better and proceeded further into the room. The door closed quietly behind her with a click of the latch and automatic lock mechanism. Letting out a curt and short sigh from her nose, Elise made her way back to her portion of the room. The layout of the apartment in the barracks was rather simple: small kitchen and sitting area, two separate bedrooms, and a bathroom. It was just the way Elise preferred it anyway: simple, with just the bare necessities. Unlike her house on her home colony which was large and garish.

Grabbing a towel from her room along with some regular clothes and slinging them over her shoulder, Elise went into the bathroom and closed the door behind her. She wanted to take a quick shower. Perhaps it would calm her down a bit...

About ten minutes later, Elise emerged from her shower, fully clothed and rubbing the excess water out of her hair which hung down her back to the bottom of her shoulder blades. When she was finished with that, Elise tossed the towel onto a chair. She didn't really care where her room mate was or what she was doing right now. She most definitely was in class or just getting out of class right about now. But this left the room open and quiet, which is usually how Elise liked it to be. She would have preferred a single room, but the Academy didn't have any except for the officers who lived on campus.

Elise stood in front of the couch, preparing to go through some stretches. She bent over one leg and then the other, holding that position for a few minutes or so before moving on.

Finally looking up to the person she had collided with Seren should not have been as surprised as she was to find Rika as the recipient of her hasty retreat. However embarrassed she was happy to see the older woman and turned bright red as she helped her up and kissed her on the forehead. this display of affection would have been trouble if the officer had caught them in the act, but Rika was quick to cover as she turned it into a fair scolding and Seren hung her head. "Yes Rika" She replied before turning to leave as Rika passed her, brushing her hand against hers in passing.
Of course she would be staying in her dorm, Home work never ended, but it would have been nice to go out and do something for a change.

Taking a slight detour to her room she checked her mail, some letters from her parents, and a few random post cards from her older brothers. these letters were often addressed to her. she smiled as she packed them away in her note book, later during down time from studying she would open them and read them, it was a nice break from her classes when she felt she needed them, and always heartwarming to hear from her family.

Pausing at her dorm room she deftly unlocked her door and opened it to find the normally dark room lighted "that is funny, i could have sworn i had turned the light off when i left..." she said dropping her items when she noticed the person stretching in front of the couch, "oh! Jeeze! i forgot you were coming today!" she said in surprise before bending again to pile up her stuff once more, catching sight of a small toy under the couch Ah! my kitten! she thought looking about before clearing her throat as she snagged the last paper "umm.. by any chance did you manage to see a small... fuzzy black creature that technically shouldn't have been in the apartment in the first place?" she asked just as she heard a mew coming from her room, oh right he was sleeping on my bed...

Elise was seated on the floor, still stretching her legs when the sound of the lock on the door. Her room mate must be back from class or wherever. As such, Elise did not really care if someone saw her stretching on the floor and was freaked out by it. So when the door opened and Seren entered, Elise was sprawled out on the floor in a split with both legs in front of her, and bent over her right leg. She only looked up when Seren said she hadn't expected her to move in so soon. Elise frowned ever so slightly so that it was barely noticeable to Seren. "Where has that mind of yours been? I moved in last night." She stated, rolling her eyes a bit before going back to stretching by switching to her left leg and remaining in the split.

When Seren asked if she had seen a kitten around the apartment since she had returned from her training session, Elise responded. "If by 'fuzzy black creature' you mean a cat, then yes." she had indeed seen the kitten a few minutes ago while she was stretching. It had watched her for a bit and tried to play with Elise before losing interest. Elise had basically ignored its attempts at being playful. So then the kitten had moved on to something else entirely. What that was, Elise couldn't say as she had not seen where the creature had gotten off to. But apparently it was in one of the other rooms now, because a tiny mew caught Elise's attention for a fleeting moment.

"It's outrageous that you even managed to get that thing in the dorms. Let alone managed to keep it a secret from inspections." Elise said with a hint of disdain in her tone as she brought her legs back together and got to her feet to start stretching her arms. Through almost lazy, half-lidded eyes she watched Seren collecting the papers and books she had dropped.

Tai felt his phone buzz inside his pants pocket indicating that it had received a text. He pulled it out and chuckled to himself lightly. "That's why I'm waiting out front." he replied to Rika's text message. While he was changing at his house Tai had realized that he had never actually told Rika where to go. So after finishing getting ready he had given the public transport Rika's address instead of the casino's. "When you're ready I have a car waiting for us."

Seren blinked as she remembered something about some one talking to her about another moving in the night before. She had been rather absorbed in her bioligy studies at the time, so she had been pretty robotic in confirming and barely responded to who ever had been talking to her, "ah... i remember now" she said as she finished picking up the last book. "sorry, medical studies rule my life now, she responded with a slight smile as she went to her room to set her books on her desk. Mic, the kitten now begining to parade the dorm like he owned the place.

"er, well, im not entirely sure how im able to keep him out of sight during expections, he tends to vanish whenever they do show up, not sure how he knows it but so far it has kept him out of trouble" she said walking back out of the room to head into the kitchen for a drink."did you want me to get you anything...? Seren was about to say her new room mate's name before realizing she still did not know, Crap, did they tell me before hand what her name was? she wondered, clearly not have been listening before when she had actually moved in the night before.

Rika reached into her coat as her phone buzzed and chuckled to herself as she read Tai's response. She hadn't seen him outside her apartment when it dawned on her that, like always, she took the back entrance out of her apartment building, completely missing Tai waiting. She shrugged and turned around from where she was, heading back into her apartment building, through a few of the halls and into the front lobby. She waved to the doorman and stepped outside, looking around for a bit before spotting Tai. She walked up to him and said, "I hope you didn't get your hopes up too high about me coming in a dress. I prefer something with pockets, and it's damn hard to wear my holster in a dress." She laughed lightly and clapped Tai on the back before saying, "So, which of the colony's fine gambling establishments are we going to tonight? How about the old Lucky Seven? I've always had good luck there." She followed him to the public transport, getting in first and stretching out slightly; she had skipped her normal morning exercise routine so she was fairly stiff after their training session.

Elise simply continued to stretch her arm muscles as her new room mate went into thought to try to recall when she had been told about Elise's moving in. Her face remained flat, with a hint of a disapproval in her eyes. But then again, could she really expect Seren to remember that bit of information when she was studying practically non-stop for her medical exams? That was the thought that kept Elise from showing her disapproval outright. So, she didn't say anything in response to Seren's excuse of her school work. Instead, Elise kept stretching, her eyes slowly following the other's figure as the Seren made her way back into the bedroom that she had possession of.

Elise's eyes narrowed ever so slightly when she heard Seren's excuse for the kitten's ability to hide when inspections came to look over the apartment. She couldn't believe that the inspector could be unobservant enough to miss any signs of tiny black hairs on the chairs or bed sheets. Elise stopped stretching and let her arms hang at her sides for a brief moment. As Seren made her way back to the front door, Elise again watched her go. She raised an eyebrow at the girl's question of whether or not she wanted anything. Elise thought about her answer quickly before speaking. "If by 'wanting anything' you mean some type of food or drink... sure. Tea, will do." Elise made her way over to the kitchen to watch as Seren got to work on the drinks. When Seren would enter the kitchen, Elise would lean sideways against whatever door frame between the kitchen and living room existed with her arms fold in front of her chest.

Tai said nothing until he was seated inside the the transport car. "Well clearly you need to get a leg holster." he said while he ran his hand up the outside of her thigh. It was quite brash but he restrained himself to a degree by pulling off quickly. "The Lucky Seven sounds fine... Take us to the Lucky Seven Casino please." With that the car drove off towards the casino. A few minutes later it pulled up the base of what looked like a skyscraper that was covered in neon signs; many of which were sevens. Tai climbed out first and then opened the door for Rika.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 13, 2012 12:47 am

Rika raised an eyebrow at Tai's hand's movement on her leg, but didn't say anything about it. Normally Rika didn't like to be touched unless the person had reason to touch her. She simply set it aside for now, not wanting to ruin a perfectly good outing before they even got where they were going, she focused more on his comment than his actions, "I suppose I should, but leg holsters aren't very comfortable..." The ride was quick, only a few minutes because of the distance from the casinos Rika's apartment was. She stepped out of the transport when Tai opened the door for her. She smirked and said, "I guess chivalry isn't dead, you just gotta... ask for it." Rika turned to face the casino with a smile on her face. She pulled out her pill box and tossed back a pair of pills, swallowing them dry and shaking her head to clear it a little as the medication took effect. The Lucky Seven was an older casino, not as new as some of the other ones in the area, but it was a very nice place. It's age simply made it a bit more prestigious than its newer counterparts. Rika had always had good luck here, though the house would disagree.

It had been a while since Rika had last stopped in, a month or two at the least, but she was a frequent customer, so she'd be surprised if they didn't remember her. She looked over to Tai and asked, "So, is it 'age before beauty' or 'ladies first' tonight?" She didn't bother waiting for a reply as she walked forward, up the small number of steps that led to the main entrance. She waved to the doorman and exchanged greetings before heading into the lobby. The lobby was what one would expect of a casino, a reception area, an area to cash in chips, elevators and the entrances to the various shows they had playing that night. Rika inhaled lightly and sighed; it felt good to come back after such a long time away. She turned to Tai and asked him with a grin on her face, "So where to first? Should we go to the bar and get wasted or does that come after the gambling?" Rika was content to do her own thing while she was alone, but it would have been rude to just leave Tai where he was and go trounce some people at blackjack. A few fellow patrons of the casino stared at her as they walked by, looking away quickly when she caught their gazes; it was inevitable when wearing something like what she had on, and she didn't really care that people were staring.

Seren nodded to her room mate as she started to make some tea and fetched herself a glass of orange juice. This new room mate made her slightly nervous, for some reason she felt like she was being tested as well as judged. finishing Elise's tea she turned to her to hand the glass over and blinked as she saw her simply leaning against the door frame with her arms cross looking like she dissaproved, "er... here?" she said handing the glass over with a confused look.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 15, 2012 11:21 am

Elise simply watched in silence as Seren prepared the drinks. As she was handed her tea, Elise noticed the nervous look on Seren's face along with the tone of her voice. The redhead gave her new room mate an inquisitive look. "Why are you looking at me like that? I just came over here to get the tea so you wouldn't have to walk it all the way out to me. You're my room mate, not my maid..." she said, sounding mildly offended. With that, Elise turned away from Seren and headed back out to the common area. Going over to the couch, Elise sat down and began to sip her tea. As it was kind of hot to the touch, she would drink slowly.

Once Tania had met up with the guys that had got her to go to the casino she simply gave them a cold glare when the looke at her. The kind that said 'say anything and i'll kill you'. After a few moments they were on their way in a taxi and after a while longer they were at the casino. Tania really wasn't one who cared for these sorts of places, then again she really hadn't spent much time at any. Following her cadet mates she would go into casino ignoring any look any one gave her. She wasn't giving them any indication that she was noticing any people staring at her. She was just going on as if she was oblivious to that fact, simply following the guys to wherever it was they wanted to do first.

Before Tai could give his answer, Rika's attention had been turned elsewhere. She looked around the casino for a moment, taking in her surroundings while she waited for him to think of what to do. She caught her eye one something, or rather someone she knew, aside from Tai. She raised her eyebrow and asked Tai, patting his shoulder to get his attention, "Hey, isn't that our favorite mechanic? In a dress no less? Should we say hi? I'm gonna say hi." With that, Rika had her mind set on what she was going to do, there would be no stopping her now. She wasn't about to go calling after Tania from across the lobby, so she picked up the pace and hurried over to her. When she got close enough so that Tania would be able to hear her without her shouting, she exclaimed, "Tania! Hey Tania!" Rika waved her arm above her head, trying to get Tania's attention through a reasonably thick crowd. It might have been a silly thing to do, but no one was paying attention to Rika anyways. Rika didn't really feel bad for leaving Tai standing in the lobby, she figured he'd catch up eventually.

There were too many people for her liking, which was one of the main reasons she wasn't really fond of places like casinos. When it came to things like this she was a little bit cautious. She never accepted drinks from anyone (you never knew what they could have slipped in it) she walked around with her money in places no one could reach without her knowing, and avoided going anywhere with anyone she didn't know, at all. Maybe she was just a little paranoid, nah, she just didn't want to have her life screwed over because of some stupid mistake. Her eyes glanced at the crowd of people as she walked through trying to decide what she would feel like doing first since she was already there, she might as well. Coming back to reality Tania blinked twice as she realized she was alone. The two guys who had gotten her to come and vanished. Her eyes formed a quick glare. Some escorts they were. It was no wonder they never had girlfriends for long, not that she cared anyways. She wasn't one who cared, wanted or needed to know about other peoples love lives. Scratching the back of her head she shifted her body weight from one leg to another when suddenly someone called out her name. It wasn't on of the people she had come with for the voice was female. Twisting her head enough to glance out of the corner of her eyes she would groan silently seeing who it was. And her she had been hoping no one else she knew would have been there. Faking, or well trying too, she didn't hear anything she would walk off in the opposite direction weaving in and out of people as if to hide. It wasn't mainly because of Rika she was trying to hide, she was actually quite a cool person when not in a sadistic mood, but rather from the person Tania figured was sure to be near by, Junior Lt. Tai. Tania wasn't scared of the guy, she really didn't know him all that well, only had actually been with him every so often and always briefs moments. That didn't keep her from knowing the kind of attitude he had, of all the people she knew at the academy, he was the LAST person she needed to see her in a dress. I should have just broken the deal and brought pants... Tania had a reputation she would liked keeping on being the tough tomboy kind of girl, so she was trying to avoid it from being ruined or teased with, which was something Lt. Tai was sure to do.
