"I'm gonna get some people to help me, if I get the job," Roch said after he was finished. "I think I'll ask Edel to do some parts on her violin, and make Rikki do drums for me," he said, looking enthusiastic about it all. "Oh, jack, the pizza should be done, give me a second."
He stood, heading into the kitchen, grabbing some towels and pulling out the pizza to put on the stove. "Hope you don't mind it loaded," he called to her as he sliced it up and grabbed some plates to serve it on. He came out a second later, placing her plate on the desk and sitting down with his own.

Aww... no more music? Taryn's smile fell slightly and she watched Roch go, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. Food was an acceptable substitute, she guessed, even if it was crazy frozen pizza...
"Sure," she shrugged, plopping down in the desk chair and took a tentative bite. Well this was... new. "I'm sure you'll get the part. I don't think I know anyone as good as you. Or as interested."

"Well I was the only one that tried out for the music," he said with a little grin as he munched down. "But how awesome would that be? To do the score for the school play, y'know? I could do all sorts of stuff for it, and the music, when you do it right, is pretty fun."

"It's definitely different than I remember," Taryn nodded. She had seen The Cracker of Nuts maybe twice in her life and not necessarily all the way through, but she remembered violins and tinkling pianos. That was barely hard electronic guitars. "It'd be a nice change, though. I doubt it's been done that way much before."

He grinned at her. "Yeah," he said. "I hope so." Then he finished off his pizza. "You wanna try the karaoke?" he offered. "It's a lot of fun! And nobody will hear except me, since we'll close the door."

Oh, Roch, you were the one she didn't want to hear! It had been years since she'd sang, and even that was just in primary school chorus.
"I don't know..." she said, brow furrowing. She had barely eaten her pizza, she just couldn't stomach it. "I've never done it before."

"Yeah, but it isn't like you'll be judged on it or anything," he promised with a grin. Then he looked at her pizza. "Um... bad choice?" he asked guiltily. "Sorry, I can... make you a sandwich or something if you want!"

"No no, I'm just not very hungry," Taryn smiled, lying through her teeth but doing a good job of it. It was never polite to insult a host, even if that host was your friend.
"I'll try it, I guess. I don't know much music...?"

"The words come with it!" he said, getting to his feet and heading for the booth. "C'mon, it'll be a good way to vent, if nothing else," he told her with a grin, motioning her into his cozy, leather couch having, sound proof booth.

"Vent"? Oh boy.
Taryn thought that maybe this escapade would mostly involve Roch screaming at a screen, and that was fine with her. He could "vent" all he wanted, and she would politely stand by and watch. She didn't imagine that seeing the words would make it any easier.
"Alright..." the ghoul agreed, following sheepishly after Roch. Her rose remained on the desk.

He motioned her in, then closed the door behind her, flipping on the lights of his little room. It was done in reds, silvers, and blacks. "Nobody can hear us," he told her cheerfully. "This booth is totally soundproof, it's awesome! I can play as loud as I like and not get people slammin' on the walls or knocking down the door."
He headed for the karaoke machine, motioning her over. "Here, this is the book with all the songs in it, you can pick one!"

Oh... well, this was a nice room! After a moment of observation, though, Taryn realized just how small it really was, and the fact that they were both locked in side. Oh, Jack... something Taryn didn't recognize made her heart speed up and her cheeks go dark, and she was glad to steal the book and hold it up past her nose. Right, right, songs... why did this all look like foreign script?!

"You probably want to pick something easy for your first try," Roch said, trying to see over her shoulder. "You got any old songs you remember? Something from your childhood, maybe?" Unwittingly that brought him up right behind the ghoul. He didn't think anything about it.

Taryn fumbled and nearly dropped the song book. Right, right, songs from her childhood. What had been around when she was a child? Had she ever been a child? No, she had never been to Amityville either, in fact, she didn't exist. She was a complex series of dreams withing dreams and--
"'The Rose'? I know that one. Mama used to sing it all the time..." and, of course, it was oddly reminiscent of a gift sitting out in Roch's room now.

"Sure," he said. "Look under R and see if it's there," he told her, pulling away. "Then type the number next to it into this machine right here, see?" he said, pointing at the number panel. "Then the song will start and the lyrics will be on this screen here," he told her, pointing.
