Kodate pinned his foot to the ground after passing by Angel's leg, turning his whole body sideways. He never took his eyes off of his opponent, and gauged himself appropriately. The big man bent at the back and allowed the attack to fly past him without much effort. When Angel retreated back a step, the man followed him with an equal stride, staying just barely inside of Angel's hit range. "It's not a recognized style." He spoke while he moved, and attacked in almost the same motion. His right arm, still laying loose next to his body, whipped across his torso as his body straightened out, adding more momentum behind the blow as it sailed towards Angel's face. It came more at a downward angle considering his height, and packed considerable strength behind it, belying the strength of the gentle giant.
"We developed it for my...zanpaku-to."

Angel smiled as he took more of a defensive stance and brought both hands out. His fingers curled up so he would be able to use more force with his palm strikes. When Kodate's punch came down at him Angel considered his options before acting. Considering on how big he was and with the angle the punch was going at he took a step forward and ducked under Kodates strike. He then took another step forward as he sent his right palm in to his elbow before spinning and sending his left palm in to the man's chest. He nodded, "For your Zanpaku-to eh? Interesting indeed."╚══════════════╝ .....what is left for you to take?

"I don't really mind, the match was essentially done anyways." Natsuki explained as she began to gather her things up returning them to the pouches and bag from whence they came. "Strategy comes in different ranges, there is personal, group and global tactics. Each should be broached differently but all need to be looked at when dealing with combat." Shed explained calmly as she tugged the cord on the bag returning the little game to its home once more. "as far as the game goes it can never take the place of learning from real troops, but everyone in soul society learns some from of strategy or tactics, however most don't beyond personal strategy." She continued to explain. these questions were common for her so she'd grown accustom to answering these things with relative ease. "I find tactics and strategy interesting because it can allow a minute force victory over an obscene army." she finished before watching the spar between the two males who had been here earlier, as well as casting a glance to the now identified vice captain and the strange female with whom he'd been tussling with. Things certainly seemed to peak to activity around her which she found odd since she didn't feel she was the most charismatic of people around. Though she gathered she wasn't the most unapproachable either in that regards. "So you are interested in martial arts then? Your eyes seem to be very analytical of the fight going on." Natsuki questioned using observation of what Kay seemed to perk up at in regards to activity.

A quick turn of his torso as Kodate decided to take the hit. The turn of his body changed it from a solid hit to just a simply glancing blow, and he was sure he could have avoided it but he didn't for one very good reason. His left arm, farthest away from Angel now that he had turned, grabbed onto Angel's wrist as it was still on the follow-through of the strike, and the large man rolled his opposing shoulder so that Angel's arm fit over it and he then promptly bent over. The single, fluid action would end up being a simple shoulder throw, the end result most likely being Angel's back slamming onto the ground with Kodate still holding firmly onto his wrist. There were ways out of it, like there were with all things, but it would be difficult. Kodate supposed he could hold on, but he hopped back a ways regardless and stretched his hit shoulder a little.
"Yes, my zanpaku-to. I'll show you what I mean when we finish."

A poet is a nightingale,
x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
“I’m always a lunatic,” Aine squeezed out, her plan had slightly backfired when her chest hit Lerato’s shoulder and knocked the wind out of her lungs on impact. Pushing up onto the heels of her hands she took a gulping breath and rolled onto her bottom, her hands pushing at her wind tousled ebony hair while waiting for the world to stop spinning. But, just about that time the breath she’d been able to draw was let out with a loud ‘mph’ as her rear end was lifted clear of the ground and she was doubled over like a folding case to dangle dangerously above the hard packed ground. A ragdoll more than a tiny Shinigami, she gave Lerato a lopsided grin that only served to make her look more manic with her orientation. “But Officer,” she returned in a hushed voice, “I didn’t mean ta run ya over, I was try’in ta lay ya flat before pull’in rank on ya.” Aine wasn’t exactly sure when she’d decided to speak like a normal, educated person to the Vice Captain, but she slipped back into her normal dialect just to add a bit more comedy to the situation.
Not wanting to hang by her waist for much longer, slim little fingers darted to her midsection and with a yank and soft clatter, the belt she wore slipped loose and she landed in a mildly graceful crouch. Freed, she stood straight, dusted off her Shihakushou with purpose and dutifully strode towards the two women who had remained stationary after her sneak attack. Stopping a stride away from them, and utterly ignoring any conversation they were currently engaged in, Aine bent at the waist in a formal bow while her emerald eyes darted between the two chocolaty sets they possessed. “Please excuse my rash behavior,” she began, her voice deadpan and lacking any sincerity, “but I’ve been instructed to warn you of the dangers of tackling a Vice Captain out of nowhere. I do not recommend it unless you’re prepared to be slaughtered, or in Lerato’s case electrocuted. Please do not replicate my actions and follow proper protocol expected of lower ranks addressing and acting in the presence of higher ranked officers.” Message delivered, Aine returned to standing straight and swiveled on her heels back in Lerato’s direction and shoot him a look that said she would gut him if he tried to make order her to do anything else.
Sure, sure…get promoted. Yeah, you’ll be appreciated and revered. Totally. Then later, people will think you’re an idiot, just like you wanted them to for strategy purposes, but when you actually state your rank…you’re told to do this and do that like a mentally incompetent child. Fuming mentally, the little Guardswoman shifted back towards the women and unceremoniously dropped into a sitting position, arms cross over her barely-there chest. Zero Division – Third Seat, Aine definitely wasn’t important at all… Letting out a gusty sigh, Aine smoothed her long bangs away from her face with a wayaward hand and broke in on the two graduate’s conversation. “Sorry ‘bout that. Name’s Kirihara Aine, or just Aine if ya don’t mind.” A halfcocked smirk marked her next statement, “I’ma political prisoner here, n’ Lerato’s one’a my wardens. Pleased ta meet’cha.”

"You might say that," Kay propped her elbow on her thigh and rested her cheek on her fist, watching Natsuki pack up her game with what seemed to be practiced efficiency. "I'm not a die-hard enthusiast who lives only for the fight and for seeking stronger opponents, of course. Nothing like that. But it's an integral part of me-- that I'll freely admit to,"
She noticed Natsuki casting glances at both the sparring shinigami as well as Lerato and his-- Kay hesitated to catalog her as an acquaintance. He handled her with a certain tenderness that almost seemed to suggest a relationship, maybe even romance. Kay wasn't sure, and, really, it wasn't her business. It was interesting to see how she and every shinigami she'd met thus far had a habit of sizing each other up. It was as if they were constantly on the verge of fighting amongst themselves, a strange idea given that they were not each others' enemies. Still, she supposed the various defections and betrayals in the Seireitei's history engendered a certain guarded caution.
"But I'm interested in a lot of things-- martial arts, healing, swordplay," She continued, returning her attention to Natsuki. Her tone was wry but still amiable. "It's why choosing a squad has been so difficult. By your obvious affinity for strategy, I can't imagine your decision was nearly so tough,"
It was then that the small woman who'd tackled Lerato chose to interrupt their conversation. Kay was about to rise to greet her properly, but the woman hunkered down to her and Natsuki's level as she introduced herself.
"I'm Kay," Kay returned, taking her cue from Aine's informal introduction. She bristled with questions, not the least of which was why Aine considered herself a political prisoner. In addition, she refrained from pointing out that Lerato seemed to be doing a shoddy job of guarding her since she was out and about. Instead, she simply grinned. "And the pleasure's mine,"

۞Angel Kotoshi۞ When the world is yours.... ╔══════════════╗
Angel's eyes went wide with surprise when he found himself being thrown over Kodate, He let out a yelp of surprise at the same time, but he smiled and let out a deep breath. He then tensed up his legs before he planted his feet on the ground stopping himself from colliding with the ground. When the giant let him go and moved away from him Angel grunted as he straightened himself out and rubbed his back, "I hate moves like that. Always hurts my back." He chuckled as he turned around so he was once again face-to-face with Kodate. He nodded, "I would love to hear that." Right after he was finished speaking he once again took his defensive stance. He took another deep breath before he stepped closer to Kodate and began to throw palm thrusts at his upper body. At first they were slow and didnt even seem like they would hurt him, but after more time passed the strikes would become faster and have more strength behind them. Although it would seem like he was aiming for Kodate's chest and/or head he was actualy aiming for his shoulders, waist, and arms.╚══════════════╝ .....what is left for you to take?

A half-smile cracked its way onto Kodate's face. "You just have to be careful to extend your arm like that. Took me years to learn that lesson." He took a stance once more just as Angel took his. "And it's not that impressive, believe me." He was referring to his zanpaku-to, which he had taken off before the fight. He didn't want it getting in the way, which it had an annoying habit of doing in hand-to-hand combat. The large man began stepping backwards as Angel attacked, one step with each thrust. It made the combat mobile, and kept Kodate just barely inside of Angel's reach. When the speed picked up to the point that taking a step back for each strike would be more like sprinting backwards, he just kept a consistent backwards pace more akin to a brisk walk than anything else.
Kodate started out slowly as well, smacking away the strikes with a hard push of his hand or blocking it with the solid end of his forearm right before it connected with his elbow. In this way he kept tabs on all of Angel's strikes, hard though they might be, and made sure they didn't do anything more than make his arms a little sore. During all the strikes, though, Kodate suddenly stepped forward, interrupting the barrage due to his sudden closeness, and launched his knee out towards Angel's stomach. How the man reacted was up to him, but the attack was made irregardless.

Angel was once again taken by surprise when Kodate not only blocked all his strikes the giant suddenly stepped forward and stopped his assault. His eyes narrowed when he saw Kodate's knee coming at him. He smiled, "Got you." In a sudden burst of speed Angel spun on his heels so he was now to Kodae's left. He then struck out with his leg and aimed for the leg Kodate was now standing on. At the same time he brought his right elbow in to the giant's chest sending him falling backwards.╚══════════════╝ .....what is left for you to take?

There are many things a man of Kodate's stature is known for. Speed and grace usually aren't among them. While he was no slouch when it came to hand-to-hand, he had to give it to Angel for taking advantage of the situation. He felt his leg smack out from his body and the elbow force him backwards. He twisted so he faced the ground, and held out his hands to catch himself. When he landed, his chest barely hit the ground and he acted almost immedately. His legs lashed out at Angel's legs slightly above the knee, aiming to send him crashing to the ground in much the giant had just fallen. If both of them ended up on the ground, Kodate would start laughing.

"I actually have four options that I'm considering, none of which are highly involved in combat superiority, The important thing is choosing a division that needs your abilities more than another." Natsuki explained casually her gaze darting to the woman who tackled the vice captain in their presence, delivering a warning that might not really need told... "I hadn't intended on tackling any Vices or higher rank officers anytime soon, but if the desire wells up I'll be sure to control the urge, thank you miss Kirihara." A sense of sarcasm might be detected in her response but she felt good humor deserved an equal return. "Don't forget that prisons can offer protection to let you do things you might need to do for personal growth." Natsuki stated explaining a strange view of being held captive. Though Natsuki seemed a stick in the mud she often surprised people with some of her responses to actions and activities around her. Meanwhile the little hand to hand spar the boys had undergone seemed to be rounding to a close though she had seen upturns with these kinds of bouts before. Their martial form was indeed interesting to her and certainly outside anything she'd observed or practiced in her life as a human and her life in the spirit world.

'She's going to ruin me...' Lerato thought as he stood in place with a limp belt hanging in his hand. 'Well, if she wants to play that way, then I guess I have no choice but to respond in turn.' Sure, he could have revealed her position to everyone. As she had said back in the orchard, the realization of her rank would have easily turned the Sereitei on it's head, but during his short time dealing with the former defect, the vice captain had started to form a much easier way of dealing with the woman. Instead of direct retaliation, he would play into her hands and, from there, would make Aine seem even more crazy than she already appeared. 'Even if it does end up making me look like a creep...' Stepping up beside the small conglomeration of girls lieutenant set loose a pearly white grin. "As much as I hate to admit it, the little woman speaks the truth. I guess you could akin her prior actions to playing with fire around a collection of different fireworks. Sure, the display afterward would be quite the sight, but being caught in the aftermath would likely wind you up visiting Captain Aoi." Hidden in the depths of the smile he flashed Aine was a challenge. If she was going to try and ruin his standing amongst the new recruits, he would in turn ruin her.
Taking a seat next to the most petite of the group, the man cleared his voice and started to explain, "I wouldn't call the first division her prison so much as her baby sitters. Aine has a habit of running amuck when she's allowed to carry on with her whims. The Captain Commander generally just wants me to keep an eye on her. You know, make sure she doesn't end up breaking some little kids heart. I must admit though, I think his plan has backfired as I find myself falling for her." The gentleness with which Lerato reached over and stroked the back of Aine's hand was surprising, more fitting of a husband nursing his ill wife back to health than someone who was supposed to be her ruthless jailer. "I hope you pardon the interruption..." He smiled as he looked back down at where the game had been set out mere moments before, "Ah well, I guess it's for the best anyway. You were right about knowing what your men are capable of Natsuki, I just never liked to reveal too much in the beginning and found that if I kept it a secret even from myself, the game was much more fun."

"It's of no concern, after all I feel I've gained a better understanding of those around me. I should be able to get situated better than I thought." Natsuki commented with a casual shrug of her shoulders as she gently cast a glance between those who had accumulated around this area. She certainly enjoyed gaining information on those around her as well as developing strategy based on those people. Her dilemma was minor but would need to be addressed in short order. " I think I'd be able to get a better understanding of which squad I should enter into if I met some members from each of them." She commented aloud more to herself than to any particular person in the group. She did give some thought as to who this Aine figure actually was, to need supervision beyond what was required of a standard squad member hinted at her possible importance in a slightly grander scheme as far as the court guards were concerned.

The only visible reaction Aine exhibited towards the grinned challenged was a quirk of her right eyebrow. So the Vice Captain wanted to play her games, she’d have to make sure it was up to par with his expectations. “It’s a pleasure to meet both of you,” perfectly enunciated and without an ounce of her typical city trained dialect she finished the circle of names and greetings. Flashing a genial smile, next, Aine needed a slight plan to shove her proverbial boot up Lerato’s tightly puckered backside. Luckily, her inspiration came right from the horse’s mouth.
The gentle sweep of fingers across the back of her hand sprung her little plan into action. “Aw, Sweetie,” she crooned, her hand sweeping his into a tangled embrace, “you make me sound like such a whore! Breaking little boy’s hearts, I’d never do such a thing.” A fine tremble caught her lower lip and the Guardswoman’s expression morphing into discontentment with a layer of pitiful dashed over top. “I can’t help if those boys can’t keep their hands to themselves, you’re just so possessive, and if I didn’t turn them away you’d destroy them without a thought!” Emphasizing the rise in dismay her voice conveyed, she lunged towards Lerato, twisting to land squarely in his lap with her arms draped about his neck, face hidden between the junction of his clavicle and throat while the fall of her own dark hair masked the rest. Her shoulders shook, a soft kneeing whimper matching the sudden spiral into distraught lover.
Shuffling in his lap, her squirming was meant only to enhance her little game, but she did hope her knee had caught him in his tender man bits at least once. But, enough was enough; the shaking in her shoulders was rapidly becoming silent laughter. Dropping her left arm, her right hooked the back of his neck, giving Aine an unrestricted view of the Vice Captain’s face. Not pausing in the least, her free hand gripped his chin and she placed her tongue against his cheek and left a trail of saliva from the lower half of his cheek to his temple before she sat back, a broad grin slashing across her pale face. “Now jailer boy, you know I can own ya in two seconds flat, n’ I’m just gonna ask this once.” Aine’s look and voice became mildly sinister, her fingers clamping just a little tighter on his jaw. “May I have my belt back, please?”

“I’m not interrupting anything…?” Jirou stammered slightly. His single cornflower blue eye was transfixed on the extremely odd display that had taken place on his approach and he was at a loss on how to react. Never the less his free hand slicked back his sandy hair, momentarily revealing the scaring traipsing upwards from under a white medical eye patch currently covering his left eye. “…sir, I was tasked with bringing you these documents and as the Captain put it, ‘getting off my a** to meet some new faces.’” Extending the manila envelope that had been clamped to his left side a moment before, Jirou lowered into a crouch while his curiosity got the better of him and the hand holding the envelope sagged.
First, the woman who was settled in his Vice Captain’s lap wasn’t a new face; Jirou had seen her running amuck in the first squad more than once in his short tenure. Obviously the same gratuitous shenanigans were going on here; at least Jirou ascertained that from how Lerato was engaged with her. Not trying to seem rude to his officer nor the others in his presence, he dipped into a polite bow and gave a light smile to the two ladies completing the small sitting circle. “Excuse me, I didn’t mean to be rude and not introduce myself. My name is Sankoku Jirou, a recent member of the first squad.” Returning his head to a relatively straight position, he tried to keep his expression cheerful, but there was no doubt that his brow was drawn and the intensity of his stare was over stated. Honestly, he hated his face and its trouble following his mental directions.
