Robert had to stop, looking down at her with complete shock. "Are you kidding? Of course I remember. I remember every letter you ever sent me, kitten. I spent hours reading those things."
They were only a page or so long, and would have taken a normal reader 10 minutes. But he never minded.
He was moving suddenly, heading straight into the casino and being assaulted with color, sound, and smell.
And showgirls.
Ten of them, in fact, were walking right past the two of them as they headed in. They had giant peacock blumed tails splayed out behind them, and their headgear was almost as big.
The rest of the outfit, though... little more than a few scraps of cloth and a prayer.
Robert stared. He'd been there all of five seconds, and already he felt compelled to breath out the following words in complete and utter awe.
"I love Vegas."

Ooh, awkward moment. Luckily, Robert was walking away on his own, towards showgirls. Reine batted at them, hissing, as she shoved Robert pass the girls and into the casino.
"I'm watching you," she threatened, scowling. Reine did eye them somewhat wistfully, though, as they walked past. Their outfits only served to make her feel that much more inadequate in.. certain areas, so to speak. Looking downwards, Reine sighed; well, it was a blessing at least that she wasn't on the other end of the spectrum. She'd heard the backaches were terrible.
The inside of the casino, though, was spectacular; she'd almost forgotten how grand everything looked.
"It's a pretty awesome place, huh?" She allowed him a smile, surveying the place. "I never really got to say this, but I'm glad we're talking again. And I mean normally."
Why was she being so sappy, suddenly? Perhaps it was just the sense of awe getting to her.

Robert could only nod his head when she spoke at first, but her last few words made him stop and look at her. That wide, goofy smile spread across his face, and he wrapped one arm around her shoulders, tucking her into that big frame that fit girls so well in it. "Yeah, I am too. Life is pretty damn good right now, kitten. Pretty damn good."
Beside them, a woman won a small jackpot on some slots. The lights and sounds flickered, catching his attention, and he watched her collect her winnings into a cup and celebrate with her husband. They carted the full cup away, still screaming in joy, and Robert watched them wistfully.
Then he looked down at the slots matchine, and the coin slot..
And his eyes glinted deviously.
"Hey, kitten. I think I got me an idea."

"It is," she echoed, though somewhat emptily. 'Life' reminded her of her job, and her job reminded her of missions, and missions reminded her of...
Stop right there. Reine smacked herself mentally; speaking of missions, they were on one now, and that meant focusing. It meant not letting yourself getting distracted by stupid petty things that were over, things that could potentially screw up this mission.
Pulling out her phone, she flicked it open and looked at the time; they were still good, with thirty minutes before they needed to leave.
"An idea?" Reine hadn't been paying too much attention to Robert, and she looked at him, confused. Her eyes darted towards the slot machine he was staring at, and.. oh no. Oh no.
"Don't kick it, you idiot, they'll kick us out! And probably make us pay."

He pulled out the coin in his pocket, letting it flip through his fingers nimbly. His face spread open in a s**t-eating grin.
"Nah, I'm not gonna kick it."
Jezebel sighed in annoyance as she was flipped. Robert sat down in front of one of the slots, and kissed the coin. He received a second sigh - though, this one was no longer in annoyance. He slipped the coin into the slot, felt her slide down into the machine, and pulled the slot lever.
The machine roared to life, drowning them in sound and lights. Finally, the slots started to slow, until..
$
$
..and a heart.
Robert chuckled at the failure, and put his hand against the machine. A second later, he was flipping Jezebel in his fingers once more. His eyes slit mischievously.
"And you said I wouldn't be able to play any games."

"I said that, did I?" For some reason, Reine was grinning. Her eyes had been trained on the slot machine, watching as the pictures spun.... and Robert had been close. So close.
"That's cheating, though." Not that she was opposed to it; she was actually surprised at Robert's ingenuity. Pity, though, that she didn't have the same advantage, unless she stole Jezebel from him, but she recalled Jordan mentioning never to touch someone else's weapon.
With a sigh, she rummaged in her pockets, hoping to find something.. and struck gold. Literally. If this was her only chance, she was determined at least to beat Robert at his own game. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Reine slotted the coin in-- wait, where did you put the coin in anyway? Sneaking a peek, she moved her hand over, then dropped the coin in and pushed the lever.
Unfortunately, the slot machine didn't seem to want to comply. Reine grimaced, completely unsatisfied; the look on her face said that much. She had a feeling that, if they weren't on a mission, they'd be staying here until she beat him at the slot machines. Whatever 'winning' even entailed.

"So it is, precious. So it is." He winked at her, and slid Jezebel through the slot again. "I would have let you try on my machine if you really want to play," He murmured as he watched her only coin go down the drain. He pulled the lever, and waited for the result. "Next time around, you can pull my lever, all right?"
And for the first time in the history of life itself, Robert was not making a sexual joke.
Three different icons showed up, and Robert slapped his head. "Geez, Jazzy. You're bad luck."
DON'T BLAME ME YOU LITTLE s**t-
Robert put his hand against the slot, and summoned her back to him again, interrupting her words by flipping her to the other side. Then he gave her another kiss, and she sighed in content.

Robert's second try didn't go any better, but this was a slot machine after all- the people owning the casino wanted to make money, not lose it. Except Jezebel wasn't actually 'money'... smart, Robert. Smart. Or just lucky to have picked this weapon.
"Really?" Reine looked at him somewhat dubiously. Either way, it was who pulled the lever that mattered.. and not whose coin it was, right? Especially considering she'd end up with more coins than Jezebel anyway...
Counting your chickens before they hatch, princess? Ally almost sounded a little jealous.

"Bet you if Ally were a coin, we'd win the jackpot."

Robert narrowed one eye at Reine, and pulled his own lever on the next try. "The ********? You smack talking me when I'm the one who's got us free play time? Lookin' a gift horse in the mouth, kitten."
And it seemed, even though her luck was only slightly better, his own luck was clearly just painfully bad. He couldn't even get two in a row - not that it would win anything to do so.
He grunted, pulling Jezebel away and storming away from the machine. "******** this, if I wanted to lose over and over I'd go spar with you some more. Let's get out of this joint."
Oooh, wait, more showgirls. He took the time to stare.

"Oh come onnn, Bobbyyy." She wasn't done yet! And.. and okay, well, maybe she shouldn't have said that, but she was just joking! Geez. Guy sure couldn't take a joke.
You'd liiiiike it if someone insulted me too, wouldn't you?
Fair enough...
Frowning, Reine chased after Robert. "I'm sorry, okay! And.. to, um, Jazzy, too." That was the name of his weapon? Just when she'd caught up, though, she found him staring at showgirls again.. oh Robert, so typical.
"If you're quiiiite done admiring," she said, her tone clipped, "I think we have a mission to finish up."
A pause.
"And will you close your mouth, at least."
With a 'hmph' Reine walked past him and out of the casino, then pulled the map out again. Straight, left turn, left turn- close enough.

From the outside, the location in question looked to be the walk-in entrance of a parking garage. However, when they entered they found themselves in a tiny room with no windows or other doors, to make matters even better, the door behind them was now firmly locked. Hopefully neither hunter was subject to bouts of claustrophobia, because it was several long minutes before they could feel the room make the familiar motion of an elevator moving down. Eventually one of the walls slid open and the two were greeted by the of small but lavish underground casino. A man in a suit waited for them at the door, and began to scan them up and down with a security wand. He didn't bother to explain what he was doing, likely assuming that they would understand the courtesies and precautions that are necessary when visiting an establishment such as this.

She did not wait for him, walking ahead of him into the building. Reine had expected it to be somewhat simple, collect the item and leave- but the mission was beginning to take on an almost movie-esque twist.
The only thing she needed was a gun hidden in her jacket- though naturally, there wasn't one. Swallowing, she forced herself to maintain her composure as they waited in the elevator. It wasn't that she didn't like closed spaces- more that she didn't feel comfortable in unknown closed spaces. Slipping her left hand into the pocket of her coat, Reine fingered the cool metal of the earrings, willing herself to calm down- but at the same time, keep her guard up.
When the doors opened there was someone waiting for them with a scanner. What had Clarice said? All they needed to do was meet 'a man' and pick up 'a case'. Reine tolerated the scanning, but gave the man a sharp glance. He had to be just a lackey. Like a Team Rocket grunt. Was it Giovanni they were meeting? As tempting as it was to tell him 'Take me to your leader', the less you let on that you didn't really know what was going on.. the better.
She kept her mouth shut.

Robert was not subject to claustrophobia, but he did have a big problem with staying still for long periods of time. This was exactly what the small, cramped room they had just been locked in left him with, however, and Reine was the one to suffer for it.
"The ******** do you think this is, anyway?" He whispered quietly.
A minute later, another whisper came. "You think there's enough air in here?"
And another. "My feet itch, why are we still here?"
And another. "Reine, I gotta peeee.."
This went on, and on, for the long, painful minutes they were caught in the elevator. Finally, when they exited, the first thing Robert did was looking around for a bathroom. The small casino they had just entered had to have a bathroom, right?
He did the peepee dance as he was scanned with the wand.
