(Sorry guys. I need to pay more attention to this RP.) She couldn't stand it any longer. Diamond nodded her thanks to the woman. After a brief rest, she stood up and continued fighting, only moving her attention when her friend spoke. She shrugged, honestly not knowing the answer. §Earth~Purity§~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AnaLisa Smiled as she looked around. Only a few more were left. She knew it could be handled. She said aloud, and loud enough so everyone could hear her "Why are the attacks getting worse? They've never been this bad." She moved her attention to burning ogres and harpies, as well as listening to the answers. §Fire~Fearlessness§

‘Cause it feels like the rain of a lifetime And nothing’s gonna save us now Let the rain come crashing down… Everything is changing. I can feel it. Ulalia stood defensively until the girl, whose name she couldn't call to mind, got to her feet again. As the battle began to wane, the rain pouring around them began to slacken off as well, until the downpour had become hardly more than a light drizzle.
Running the blade through another Harpy, she backed towards the rest of the group once again, her black hair plastered down to her skin and her wet clothes whipping around her. Now that the rain had thinned out and adrenaline had been coursing through her for so long that her body was used to it, she was beginning to notice just how cold she was.
More to the point, though, they were almost done. The battle was nearly over. She refused to let herself feel relief or relaxation or anything just yet, though, because nearly was not the same as was, and she was not going to get cut down by a straggler looking for one last kill before it died or escaped.
That would not be her.
Falling back into position beside the traveler, she fell back into the smooth rhythm, and only once she realized that there was nothing else coming did she let her mind turn back on again. Looking around, she realized that it was true. There was no one left. The fight was over.
Letting out a long breath, she sheathed her knives and finally addressed the other village girl's question. "I don't know," she said honestly. "I would assume that lesser attacks are no longer sufficient, for one reason or another."And I can only pray that the tide is turning our way. ‘Cause it feels like the rain for the first time And every time I take you in I feel my heart start to beat again… Ulalia Hilden, Water/Intelligence ~ Well I remember, I remember, don’t worry How could I ever forget… The hurt doesn’t show, but it still grows It’s no stranger to you and me… The wind has brought me here, and I can feel the winds of change blowing over this place. Ben only let out his first full breath of relief once the last monster fell. As the wind slowly died around them, leaving the air eerily calm as that soft drizzle fell lightly around them, he looked around at the girl who'd asked a question.
"Worse?" he repeated.
They'd never been this bad? That implied that this was a common thing. That these attacks were the kind of thing that people expected.
What the hell had he walked into here?
Wiping his blade with a cloth he'd pulled out of his bag, he looked around from one of the women to another. "I think," he said deliberately, "I would appreciate it if someone were to explain what is going on here."
He barely remembered the name of this town. It had just been another place to pass through. He hadn't meant to be here for more than a couple of hours, but he had lingered because he'd finally felt that everlasting pull inside him go quiet.
And just look what it had brought him to.
Hopefully one of these women would be able to calmly and coherently explain the situation, because Ben felt as though he'd been dropped into the middle of something far bigger than he knew, and he was the only one who didn't understand.I can feel it in the air. I can feel it coming in the air tonight And I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life Can you feel it coming in the air tonight… Odysseus Benjamin Keston, Air/Realism

Diamond sighed with relief, leaning against a nearby wall. Could she say anything? Would she? She usually didn't say anything in front of strangers, but she said with confidence -Or was it fear?- in her voice. "It's over.." She stated, simply. Her eyes were closed and she was trying to catch her breath. It was then that the older mans words had caught her attention. "Oh,yeah. Worse. These attacks have been happening since I could remember, though I've never heard any stories about it..."
AnaLisa told the strangers their names, and she nodded, walking next to her friend. She said happily "Nice to meet you. What exactly brought you two here?" §Earth~Purity§ The fight had almost caused her to fall. Luckily, she got her second wind, and she leaned against a pole. "Yeah, Diamond. It's over.." She stated. Her voice was full of nothing but confidence. She listened to the small conversation, and nodded. "Yeah. Me and Diamond have been friends for a long time. She knows i'm trouble, so I guess trouble follows me wherever I go. Especially with the damned prophecy." She stated, walking up to the two with a smile. "We haven't been formally introduced. I'm AnaLisa, that's Diamond. The plant girl is Rosa." §Fire~Fearlessness§

 "The plants are her power,"
Rosalina Fintersal Where am I? In the center square What am I doing? talking to a group of five. Who is with me? Ula, Ben, Diamond, and Ana Who am i interacting with? The group. Rosa could feel the tree under neath her's disgust at the creatures it ended up sucking into the ground and and ended up draining it's life essence. As a plant would do. She watched as the last one fell. She smiled some. Slightly dizzy since she had gotten more injured then normal. She heard her name called and slid down the tree and did a clumsy bow. "Rosalina is my name, but you may call me Rosa. Actually it has gotten much worse. As we see these attacks daily. Differing in times, but still daily. In fact if i remember some of the stories the elders would tell us as youngsters, this town is supposedly cursed. By some god somewhere." She said more or less answering most of the question. She had tied up and bandaged most of the wounds on her arms. But she would need to head home soon so her mother could help her with the rest. "Besides, I think there is some sort of prophecy of some sort around this town. But It could all be some mumbo jumbo." (Grrrrr for internet troubles...) "You will figure that out soon enough."

‘Cause it feels like the rain of a lifetime And nothing’s gonna save us now Let the rain come crashing down… Everything is changing. I can feel it. Ula wearily brushed back her soaking wet black hair. The other girls were just a tidal wave of information - she wondered if she was the only one who didn't want to spill absolutely everything to this stranger. Judging by the mildly panicked look on his face, she thought as she pulled out her knives again to begin cleaning them under the light drizzle of rain, he was wondering just what he'd gotten himself into.
She lifted a brow at AnaLisa when the girl introduced herself - Ulalia knew she didn't spend a whole lot of time in the village, but surely she and this girl had run across one another before? Well, maybe not. She really wasn't in town that often, and she couldn't call the other girl's face to mind.
"Ulalia," she said briefly. "I live on the outskirts of town, so I didn't really get 'brought' here from anywhere."
As she finished cleaning one knife and sheathed it again before beginning on the other, she looked across at the man she had been fighting beside - the one male in the group. "Who are you?"
He, she was certain, wasn't from around here. And I can only pray that the tide is turning our way. Ben listened to the spurt of words from all the different girls as the last of the drizzle died away, leaving a cool, overcast sky with the faintest hint of a breeze.
What the hell he had gotten into, he had no idea, and it rather worried him. A prophecy, the curse of "gods", daily attacks on this little town on the edge of nowhere? Shaking his head, he said quietly, "I don't believe in prophecies and curses. Surely there's a more rational explanation of some kind." He could almost sense the approving glance of the girl who'd fought beside him earlier.
Turning his attention to the two younger girls who had spoken, he said easily, "My name is Benjamin. Ben. I'm a wanderer by nature, and I was just passing through."
He didn't go into details - that pull in his heart that had taken his feet this far from home, the quiet that had rushed through him when he'd first set foot in the town. It wasn't something he was comfortable talking about with others, especially strangers - it was far too ethereal and airy a feeling for a practical man like Ben.
Instead, he looked back to the "plant girl," as she'd been described, and asked her gently, "Are you all right? You look like you need to rest. In fact," he looked around at the rest of them, "you all do. Is there a place where we can find some kind of shelter?" I can feel it in the air. Rosa smiled at the attempt of friendly-ness. She shook her head. "Oh I will be fine thank you though. Well there is my home if you don't mind my mother. She's a 'hippy' of sorts. But i'm sure she has some remedies and such somewhere in her vast kitchen of bubbling gook. Actually yes. We should go to my house. Of course if each of your parents don't mind of course. We can ask your mom on the way Ula. If you don't mind." She suggested since she lived basically next to Ulalia. Plus her mother would be rather upset if Rosa didn't come back home to rest as it was normally everyday. Rosa gave a kind smile. Something that came easy to her. She looked down at her soaked self and remembered a bag she had stuck into her shoes so that she could help with any cuts. She pulled the small leather pouch out and opened it. "Does anyone need something urgent?" "You will figure that out soon enough."

The girl gave them both glances, then looked at her friends, her eyes finally resting on AnaLisa... These two were part of the prophecy, and they didn't believe them? She sighed aloud. They soon would. Or, she hoped. She rested her eyes on Ben as he spoke. then to Rosa. She listened and shrugged "I'll tell my mom that i'm at your house right now. My house isn't far!" She stated happily, getting her strength to stand up a bit warily and start walking towards her house "I'll meetcha guys there, okay?" she yelled as she walked away. She never did anything without her mother's permisison, and as long as she asked, she could do what she wanted. §Earth~Purity§She moved her eyes between teh man and woman- Ulalia and Ben. Eventually, she moved her eyes to make eye-contact with Diamond. She heard her friend sigh, and she frowned. She was thinking something bad and she knew it. She listened to everyone before she started speaking "I'll just tell my parents tomorrow. She'll be fine with it." She said, smiling. She looked up as Diamond left, and she sighed. 'She's such a momma's girl." She said, smiling slightly. Well, that was her friend. She could never thing anything bad about her, right? §Fire~Fearlessness§

‘Cause it feels like the rain of a lifetime And nothing’s gonna save us now Let the rain come crashing down… Everything is changing. I can feel it. Ulalia blinked thoughtfully and then shrugged. “No, that’s all right, Rosa,” she replied. “I’m okay.” She wasn’t concerned about telling her mother – Ula had been independent from an early age, and her mother no longer questioned her whereabouts most of the time. After all, it wasn’t as though she could really go very far; this isolated hamlet of a town was a long way from basically everywhere, and Ula didn’t have anything in the way of transportation. The worst that could happen was that she might get lost, and she knew the forest around town too well to worry about that.
Instead of drawing out the tedious thought process any longer, she simply finished with, “My mother won’t care.” Twining a small section of hair around her finger thoughtfully, she frowned into the distance for some moments. “Will your family be okay with us invading your house, Rosa?” Her own mother was fairly lenient, but Ula still couldn’t imagine her accepting a group of strangers randomly into her home without any kind of previous acknowledgement.
Without really noticing, she had begun to braid the little section of hair, a sure sign that she was thinking of something besides what she was talking about. But that was not unlike Ulalia in the slightest – she had a multi-tracking sort of mind. Right now, it focused on—
“Is it safe for her to go off alone? We don’t know if the whole town is clear yet. I know it isn’t far, but we should still be wary. Perhaps someone should go with her.”
‘Her,’ of course, being Diamond.
Her concerns voiced, she lapsed back into a cool sort of silence, lost in her own thoughts.
And I can only pray that the tide is turning our way. One of Ben’s rare smiles flashed for a second when Rosalina described her mother. The description reminded him of the way his father had talked about his own mother – wasn’t a hippie just another kind of dreamer? And though it didn’t really make any kind of difference, for a moment it was nice to feel some kind of a connection to this town that he had never been in before; at least, some kind of connection that had nothing to do with the wild and wispy feeling, that tug in his mind that made no sense in the context of anything.
Yeah, some kind of connection.
At Rosa’s question, Ben waved a hand. “I’m well,” he replied easily. “But thank you.”
Noting Diamond’s eyes on him, he frowned briefly, wondering about the odd look on her face. A moment later, however, he forgot it entirely. It simply wasn’t all that important – if she had something she wanted to say or ask, she would do so eventually, and until then trying to guess whatever was bothering her wasn’t going to do any good.
Once Ulalia spoke, Ben frowned thoughtfully after Diamond. “Does she have any kind of weapon?” he inquired. He couldn’t remember having seen her fight, but then he’d been rather occupied with his own battles – and those of the girl he’d been fighting with (Ulalia, her name was Ulalia, he had to start trying to remember names, dammit) – and he hadn’t really been watching aside from trying to make sure no one needed more help.
Clearly the girl could take care of herself.
But all the same…

Rosa put the bag up when everyone told her no. She smiled at the concern. "My mom won't mind. She's ever lenient and she'd hate to have someone even slightly hurt not come. So we shall go." She said with an even bigger smile. She started walking in the direction of her house. "So Ula, what are your powers? I'm thinking I know but I'm not sure. One of the two of you must be wind, the other water. If that silly prophecy is correct. Since I am plants, Ana is Fire, and Diamond is Earth'/rock. You two must be the other two." ‘Cause it feels like the rain of a lifetime And nothing’s gonna save us now Let the rain come crashing down… Everything is changing. I can feel it. Ulalia gave Rosa an odd glance before shrugging her shoulders. “All right, if you are certain that it will be all right with her,” she replied idly. Truthfully, she wasn’t particularly concerned; if Rosa’s mother didn’t like them being there, then the woman would tell them to leave and that would be that. But they should at least ensure that Rosa got home with some degree of safety – she was one of the worst-injured of all of them.
As they began walking, Rosa began to harp on the theme of prophecies and powers once more and Ulalia wrinkled her nose. She didn’t want to play along with something so silly, because really? The idea of someone knowing everything before it came along and the idea of having magical powers that fixed everything were both so ridiculous, so…illogical. And yet…
And yet she’d watched all three of the other girls do incredible things. And yet she’d felt the river come to her rescue when she’d been too overwhelmed to fight. And yet she should have been dead a thousand times over and she wasn’t dead, because something had always come to save her – and that something had always had something to do with water.
It was logical to dismiss Rosa out of hand, but Ula wasn’t entirely sure that logic was right in this case. Instead, she made a thoughtful hmm sound. “I really couldn’t say,” she replied, and then winced inwardly. How prissy she sounded – I really couldn’t say. Hastily, she covered it over. “What makes you think that we have powers at all, or that you do? Why should it be us five that are the cornerstones of this…” she had to force it out, “…prophecy that you speak of?”
She didn’t know much about a prophecy – they weren’t her specific area of study. Too vague and no proof.
She didn’t want to think she might be living one.
And I can only pray that the tide is turning our way. Ben was pursuing his own line of thought, though it was somewhat similar to Ula’s (not that he could have known that). Prophecies were ridiculous and almost always wrong. Powers were something incredibly rare and unlikely to even exist.
And yet.
That pull. The tornado that had killed the Harpy. The strength of the wind when before everything had been perfectly calm. Those were things that no simple explanation could get rid of, and the more he thought about it, the more ‘magic’ kept springing up in his thoughts. It had been hard enough believing in monsters; he’d begun to see them the farther north he’d gone, and it had taken him a long while to accept what he was seeing.
And now to be asked to believe in everything he’d spent his entire life rejecting in one fell swoop…it was a little much. He needed some more time.
Instead, he focused on the other part of what Rosa had been saying. Shoving back his dark hair distractedly with one large hand, he said thoughtfully, “Your mother must be a very open-minded soul.” Though he was still concerned by the fact that Diamond had gone off without the rest of them, he hadn’t heard anything and didn’t feel like they should be overly worried. Yet.
He fell into stride beside Ulalia, leaving the supposed fire-girl (and her friend, when her friend returned) to bring up the rear. Though he had questions burning the back of his throat, he asked none of them. It wasn’t the right time. When it was right, he had to believe he would know, because otherwise all of his experience in dealing with problems was worse than useless.
While they walked onwards, Ben couldn’t help but think how much his will-o’-the-wisp of a mother would have been likely to love something like this. It was a pity he hadn’t taken after her a little bit more.
I can feel it in the air. I can feel it coming in the air tonight And I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life Can you feel it coming in the air tonight… Odysseus Benjamin Keston, Air/Realism

 "The plants are her power,"
Rosalina Fintersal Where am I? Headed home What am I doing? talking to a group of five Who is with me? Ula, Ben, and Ana Who am i interacting with? The group. Rosa looked down at the ground and smiled less as much. She figured she would have been doubted. Her instinct told her to hide in the deepest budding rose, away from any doubt or otherwise nasty feelings. But her gut made her stay and continue to guide towards her mother's home. "I don't doubt that there is some god wanting to destroy our village. But the powers part. It seems the only logical thing to me. How else can you explain how Ana can produce Fire, or how I can move the plants to my will. Or even how Diamond can move rocks without i single touch? I don't doubt that the prophecy, if that's what you want to call it, is fake. Why have we been getting attacked everyday for the last centuries? From what the village elders agree on, it's that the prophecy of the death of Loki is our answer. It's whatever anyone wants to believe. But I should consider how we seem to be thinking. How we all feel. When we get to my house we can talk about it." She said still looking forwards yet slightly down. She sighed only slightly as she regrew the rose that was normally found in her hair. "You will figure that out soon enough."

‘Cause it feels like the rain of a lifetime And nothing’s gonna save us now Let the rain come crashing down… Everything is changing. I can feel it. Ulalia frowned. "That doesn't sound right," she said firmly. "There must be some other sort of explanation." She couldn't quite think of what, though. "But, well, assume there is something real as far as magic goes--after what we saw today, there might be enough empirical evidence to take that into account as a possibly proven fact. What does that have to do with a prophecy?"
It took her a few minutes to realize that the other girl wanted to drop it; she wasn't the type to let a debate go once it had been started. But the other girl looked remarkably uncomfortable, so for now she reluctantly let it pass. "Fine. We'll talk when we get to your house."
The answer made no sense at all to her. What was the prophecy about? How they felt? She didn't feel anything in particular. Mostly just frustrated. If there was a prophecy about Ulalia being frustrated with the vague answers of someone she didn't know well and how that was supposed to save the world, well, maybe then she'd be impressed.
And I can only pray that the tide is turning our way. ‘Cause it feels like the rain for the first time And every time I take you in I feel my heart start to beat again… Ulalia Hilden, Water/Intelligence
