The star gazer lingered as long as he could at the foot of the stairs before he turned to move after the group. He felt a sinking feeling in his stomach that this would be the last time he ever saw this place. The tantalizing edge of scrawling script and half visible phrases were taunting him as he heaved a mental sigh and trailed up the stairs. Dio shoved the feeling aside and moved up behind Red.

The black fiend's legs were replaced again by the tail he'd grown to prefer. Dio reached out with his right hand and grabbed a hold of Red's jacket. He was honestly happy that his friend was feeling better, 'Red and I can share a room.' Dio wanted to be sure that the other fiend really was all better, and he'd feel safer being close to him. The idea of the library excited him, however, now that he knew Red was safe, exhaustion was starting to set in. He'd never really exerted himself quite like he had today. Though he wouldn't turn down the offer to go. The teenager didn't care if he ran himself into the ground or not, the books in there had to be amazing.

Red, on the other hand, was not sad at all that he might never see this place again. In fact, he probably wished he never saw this place again. This more magic stuff was miles above hus understanding and he had no problems leaving such dealings to the others.

The library was also boring to him, but he was willing to put up with it. He certainly did not want to sleep - he had the sinking feeling he had done too much of that. Way too much of that.

Beside, he had too many things to think about, and most importantly a guardian to find. But first, he had a rather daunting task ahead of him - remembering.

'I'm game for the library.' Dio would probably become so immersed in the books that he'd have plenty of room to think, anyway.

Hawk disappeared with Athan towards a different wing of the house where Athan's personal rooms were located, leaving Holicinesh with the two other Shadows.

The teenager smiled a bit awkwardly. He had not seen very many of the Shadows other than Hawk. He didn't often accompany his uncle outside of the house. He had been told he was welcome to any time he wished, but he usually preferred the solitude of the library. His antisocial behavior had left him a bit socially awkward.

And there was the part where he found the rather large red Shadow a bit intimidating. He was as tall as his uncle, but with a thicker build. He looked terribly aggressive, but the look was more or less ruined by the cuteness of the rainbow-haired Fiend clinging to him.

"So uhm… the library is this way?" he said as he motioned for them to follow him towards the opposite side of the house from where Hawk and his uncle had disappeared to. "The guest rooms are nearby, and so is my room."

Dio glanced up at Red and he couldn't help but be a little concerned as he started floating after Nesh. 'Are you sure you're up to it? You just had a huge ordeal. I mean if you would rather rest, I understand.' He could tell the larger fiend was likely brooding, and he didn't like a grumpy Red. In this case however, he doubted he could do anything to alleviate the situation. Somehow Zero was missing, and he wanted to ask a bazillion questions about it, but knew that would likely only make things worse.

Instead he turned his attentions to the boy that was leading them through the maze of the Athan man's house. He unwrapped himself from Red long enough to dart forward and touch Nesh on the arm. 'Thank you for showing us the way. I didn't catch your name before, are you a friend of the Athan man? Do you live here? How old are you? I bet it's wonderful to live here, surrounded by so many books and things. Do you like to read? I do.. I love to read.' The black fiend slipped back into old habits. The evening had worn him down; he was drained from the flight to the shop, and emotionally tired from worrying about Red. It left him without some of his hard won social graces.

Holicinesh's impression certainly was a fitting one, through thankfully, Red was not planning to cause any trouble. Not intentionally, at any rate. And even if he had, well... Even Red was smart enough to know not to piss off the man who had more or less just saved his red, scaled butt.

'I am fine.' Really, Dio. That was awfully cute and all, but he was pretty certain he could sit in a library without passing out.

The brooding guess was quite right, but something in Red's stature and expression softened slightly when Dio launched into endless questions - hinting that if he could smile, he might as well have. 'One at a time. He can't answer you if you keep asking questions, you know ?'

The young man's eyes went wide at the sudden onslaught of questions. "My name is Holicinesh," he told him with a polite smile, "But you can call me 'Nesh. Most everyone does."

He treaded forward through a dark hallway, pausing only briefly to light up a small rune. He waved the glowing marking into what looked like an old oil lamp that was mounted on the wall. It settled into the bottom of the lamp and with a brief whoosh sound all the surrounding lamps lamps one by one in a chain reaction that lead down the hallway.

He smiled again. He liked that spell.

"I do live here, and uhm... Athan is my adoptive uncle," he answered. It felt weird calling him by his first name rather than Uncle. "I'm not precisely certain how old I am to be honest," he went on with a puzzled look, "Uncle says I'm physically about fourteen, but I've actually only been alive for a couple of years. Weird, huh?"

He stopped before a grand, ornately carved doorway with a brighter smile than before. "I do love to read. I spend a lot of time in here."

'Nesh pushed open the heavy doors to the library with a bit of effort and went inside. The library was his most favorite place in the world. There was an endless supply of books for him to read, to include blank ones he could use for journaling and studying.

"There's actually a large guest room right across the hallway," he said as he pointed, "You could stay there if you want."

The black fiend followed Nesh and glanced back at Red with a rueful look. It'd been a long time since he'd verbally attacked someone like that, and he was grateful that his friend had been there to remind him not to. 'The Athan man is really nice, though my guardian is scared of him. Don't tell him though, cause I think she'd be really upset if he found out.' His tone was mischievous and his visible burgundy eye twinkled merrily.

Dio gasped and he clapped his hands together happily at the display of magic. Ever since he was a child and had been read stories about knights and wizards in kingdoms of old, he'd been a bit fascinated with it. Though that particular obsession had always taken a back seat to his other passions: Books and the Stars.

The star gazer turned his attention to the boy as they wandered down the corridor, he sounded amused when he replied, 'Not so weird. I mean look at us? Souls trapped inside gems. Merci says she thinks I'm a teenager now, and I've only been around...' Dio trailed off as he tried to figure out how long it'd been since he regained this half life. 'Mmm maybe five years now?'

All thought stopped however, upon the opening of the door. If Dio'd had a mouth, it would have dropped open. He lifted an arm, and with the back of his hand he brushed the long hair out of his face. Both eyes were as wide as saucers, and darting back and forth across the impressive display of knowledge. He didn't seem to have the capacity to move, or say anything. He was completely shocked to still silence, a massive feat to those that knew him.

Merci was scared of Athan... ? Well, that was strange. He had never quite noticed. Red certainly felt more inclined not to piss Athan off, if only because he'd seen what the man could do, and even if he had not already have had impression, well... Today might have likely changed his mind on that.

And, well, he had no intention to die, especially now that he had come quite close to it.

'Gaia is full of strange beings.' Most notably them, through Dio had mentioned that first, making a low rumble of amusement come from within the snake-like fiend. 'Zero has-' He stopped himself then, remembering what had happened. 'My guardian had a son. He was more or less an adult in spite of only being about 4 years old.'

He and Sei had never seen eye-to-eye, and the only thing the two had in common had been similar, life-depending bonds to the same woman. They had never considered each other as brothers. They had fought more or less constantly, each seeing the other as a threat to Zero's life, and therefore to their own safety. Both their bonds had brought their own trouble to Zero, who thankfully had always been strong enough to withstand it all.

As much as Red could never stand the brat, well, he had not deserved death. It did make him angry, but thankfully the arrived the library before he could elaborate, and anger was one again replaced with amusement, as one large, red hand passed in front of Dio's face a few times.

'Yeah. We lost him.' Came the obvious, amused wisecrack.

Holicinesh giggle despite himself and beamed over at the two Shadows with a look of pride. "My uncle's library is pretty much amazing," he said, "I spend most of my free time here which is why.. uhm... you've not seen much of me before now."

He stepped aside and motioned for Dio and Red to enter. "I'll open up the room for you across the hall," he told them, "And uhm... if you need my, my room is just a few doors down. I'll mark the light in the lamp next to the door a different color so you'll know."

He moved to exit the door and called briefly over his shoulder, "Enjoy the library, Dio."

(( And thus, Holcinesh is headed back to his room. You guys can wrap it up however you please, and uhh.. if you want to RP out the morning after with an adult!Hawk, just let me know. ouo <3 ))
