Watching Calder tumble back from his attack, Jericho grinned and went on to get his pin back on. Before too long, he was standing on two feet once more, before the kelpie. Once his transformation was complete, he stretched out his limbs before rubbing his side a little gingerly. It was roughly the same spot where he had last been kicked.
"Well, that doesn't mean we can't have a rematch in the future," he grinned, "You didn't do too badly though. Found a few soft spots, whether or not you realized it."
He walked over towards her. The dragon would have held a hand up to help her, but that was a little harder to do with an equine without hands.

She got back up, very slowly, and shook her mane. "Yeah. Soft spots. Your soft spots are like kicking a brick wall. Ugh. My legs hurt." She trotted slowly past, biting her pin to activate it, and then shifting back to his humanoid self.
Adjusting his hair, he fastened the pin more securely. Every part of his ached. "Has anyone won against you? You've got every corner covered? Geez. I thought we had it bad with Big O'Malley back home." He rubbed his chest and turned about.

"Yes actually. Several people. Riley, West, and Christof. Though... the last two losses were more of my fault. FEAR went awry and I ended up taking myself out in both cases," he admitted while rubbing the back of his neck.
"I might be tough, but I'm not invincible."

"You all don't really need bulking up. You four could probably take down a..." He paused and just opened his hands to demonstrate 'a horse' to him. He went back to fixing his hair, and then to grab his jacket. "....but thanks. I guess I still have a long way to go." A very long, long, long way to go and in a short amount of time. His brow creased with concern.
"...but I did win a laugh." He said with a smile. He didn't get to her Jericho laugh that often, and it didn't seem like it was at him either. That was always a plus.

Jericho's smile fell a bit there.
"We all have a long way to go. We all probably won't reach a point were we need to stop trying to improve," he said more seriously. However, his expression lightened up again as Calder mentioned getting a laugh from the dragon.
"There is that! Maybe you'll get to hear me laugh again in the near future too," he grinned.

"Yeah, but I'd like to reach a certain point at least by the end of the year." He had a personal goal to meet.
Calder picked up a water bottle, drinking it a moment before stopping to look over at the boil. "Near future? Something good going to happen really soon here for you?" He was interested now, and sat down a moment on a bench just to have a bit of a break.

"No. Nothing that I'm aware of at least. But you never know when something will bring a laugh or smile about. Something incredible could happen, or something horrible. Who knows?" Jericho shrugged. Stretching out, he grinned, then started to step back.
"In any case, I'm pretty damn hungry after that. So I guess I'll see you around," he waved before turning around to start heading on out.

Calder paused, and then stepped forward. "Jericho, wait....."
He fiddled with his water bottle. "Um....can I...come eat with you?" His tail flicked once. "Just ...well, you never know when something will bring a laugh or smile. It might happen soon. Wouldn't want to miss it" Water bottles sure were interested. He decided to look at it for a moment.

Hearing Calder, Jericho paused and glanced over his shoulder to see what he wanted. He was a little surprised to hear that the kelpie wanted to eat with him. Staring at him for the moment, he paused and let out a little chuckle.
"Never know indeed. Alright then, come on along," he smiled while motioning for the other boy to follow.

His tail flicked more quickly. "Kay!" Calder smiled, happy he wasn't rejected or told to bugger off, and grabbed his jacket and things before trotting up to the other boil, letting him lead the way.
