"Well, I assume you want to keep the conversation simple, yes?" Velika asked, smiling sweetly at him. "And simple conversation excluded complicated things. Which takes up quite a few topics and therefore limits the possibilities."

"Oh no!" Aydan said quickly and then amended with a gentler, "I mean, no, that's not what I meant. I mean, I just wanted to stop tripping over myself when I talk..." he chuckled softly. "I guess I'm not doing a very good job at it, am I?"

She giggled. "No, it's perfectly fine. I think it's cute. Besides, the best way to learn not to trip is to practice, yeah?" she smiled at him, then added sheepishly, "Or just plow your way through the tangle and laugh it off. At least, that's what I always did when I put my hoof in it."

"Well, what do you know," Sonja giggled to Nightstalker. "He is leaning Awfully close to her..."

Velika smiled softly, glancing out toward Sonja. "You both make it so easy to be compassionate. You're so amazing and wonderful... and... well, you already feel like family. I'd like to think you feel the same about me," she murmured, ducking her head shyly.

"Of course we do!" he grinned broadly. "You help keep Sonja level headed, you're always willing to talk with me, and you even manage to keep Nightstalker from...snacking on anyone we care about. You are most certainly family."
"Can you believe that sappy smile?" Sonja asked Nightstalker rolling her eyes. The cat, of course, couldn't help noting that the smile was similar to her mare's when she spent time with a special stallion.

Velika found herself giggling again as she nudged Aydan playfully. "You know Nightstalker would never actually hurt anyone. She's such a sweetheart!"

"Yeah, well I still have the occasional dream where that lion's trying to figure out which part of me to start on and I swear she licks her lips and eyes me when no one's watching..." Aydan cringed slightly.
Sonja laughed, "Oh Aydan...poor guy, you've really got him shook up, Stalker. Of course you would never actually do anything like that." Nightstalker purred contently well aware of the fact that, yes, she did occasionally eye the stallion and maybe suggestively salivate. She couldn't help it, he always made such funny faces and she had to do something when she and Sonja weren't racing.
