"Well seeing how you pummeled on Ark. Yeah you could afford to let me be mean to your next one." Doyle shot back.
Archie took the steel wing attack this time, busying finishing up sharpening his claws. His head was what got hit and he snapped it around. Soon more rocks were rising and then flying towards Kuu.

The retort made Luna give a small chuckle. Kuu had played a number on Ark. But she never went easy on anyone - that would be an insult.
Kuu gave a loud screech as rocks hit her as she turned around to fly back at Archie for yet another shot. They were getting stronger and stronger - no thanks to those power ups the other bird was doing. She missed her increased defense in these situations.
Still, no rocks were going to stop this determined bird. "HONCH!" she yelled, willing her wings to take her further for another attack.

Doyle saw how weak the Honchkrow was. He calculated the moves he thought Archen's knew and came up with the perfect one to finish it off. "Hold on Archie! Now use Aerial Ace!"
Archie took the attack once more and quickly got moving. Somehow the awkward running bird was able to pick up enough speed to make it a blur and it struck out hitting the weakened Kuu. "Chen!"

With that last attack, Kuu finally dropped to the ground, landing harshly on her back. Luna sighed, it was always disappointing when one of her pokemon fell over. She had to admit Kuu did a pretty good job though. "Pretty nice moves so far," Luna complimented as she returned Kuu to her pokeball and brought out a second one.
"Helium, finish this up! Thunder!"
As soon as she threw the pokeball into the field, a gengar popped out. Its eyes flashed for a moment before electricity was emitted from its outstretched hands

"Great job Archie!" Doyle said. He knew this battle wouldn't last much longer with a fresh pokemon as their opponent. But they would do as much damage as possible. "Use Crunch!"
Archie didn't stand a chance against the Thunder. It didn't help that it was fulled by the electricity from the field. "Aaaarrrr." He cried. He stumbled about for a moment and then was running at the ghost pokemon. He opened his mouth wide preparing to bite down hard.

"Keep at it," commanded the gym leader. She could feel that they were quite close to knocking out the other pokemon.
Just as Archie dug his beak into Helium's leg, the ghost pokemon briefly winced before disappearing, leaving Archie with a mouthful of air. The gengar shortly reappeared behind Archie. A large grin ran across the ghost pokemon's face as thunder crackled from his fingertips. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth - that was Helium's philosophy. This was going to hurt.

Doyle winced as Archie was hit again. Poor guy would have his brains fried by the end of the battle. But Archie wasn't backing down. In fact the little bird got back up and rushed the ghost again. "Do it Archie!" He yelled.
Archie did feel as though he lost some brain cells with that last Thunder attack. He rushed the ghost opening his mouth. Time to use Crunch again.

At the heat of battle, Luna's brain chose the most inopportune time to forget if her gengar had a completely accurate move or not. There wasn't much time to give a command though - Archie had already lached onto the gengar's arm.
"GAR!" yelled the ghost pokemon, flailing around a bit until he realized he did have the power of electricity. "GEEEEN," declared the gengar as electricity began to concentrate around him, "GAR!" The stadium exploded in stray electricity.
"Watch where you're aiming Helium!" Luna flung her hands in front of her face, hoping to avoid any stray volts.

Archie couldn't handle the last Thunder attack. It seemed the ghost pokemon went way overboard with the power of the attack. Archie fell to the ground, completely out.
Doyle had to move to avoid stray volts. He then looked at Archie and sighed. Looked like the battle was too much for him. "Good job Archie." He said returning the fainted pokemon to it's ball, "That was a good battle. We'll have to have a re-match some time! Now if you'll excuse me. I need to heal my pokemon." With that Doyle walked out of the stadium heading for the Pokemon Center.
