AIM Roleplay.⧽⧽⧽ PRV on AIM between Monet and Cassiel. Cassiel It had been several long, tiring days since the devastating event at the castle. Cassiel took most of this time to recoup and think back on the day's events. It was the first time he took action in any human affair and wondered why he bothered in the first place. Sure he was glad to assist, but something in him pulled at his emotions. Humans were a complicated race and Cassiel preferred to keep things simple. Perhaps he should stay hidden, remain secret... Or one day the humans will advance onto his sacred ground in flocks.
But keeping to himself would have to wait for another day. Although the borrowed glasses helped him get around and do his daily routine, they were not strong enough for his eyes and needed to be returned to their rightful owner. So packing his usual travel bag of food, water and the little money he possessed, he started on yet another hike to the near by human town of Lumena. His broken glasses were also tucked away in the bag, as well as a few shrine artifacts to sell should he need the coin. Glasses were not cheap as he recalled his parents’ stern warning to never break his.
The walk to town was long, and thankfully uneventful. It wasn't until he reached the town that he began to wonder about the kidnapped children. Were they ok? Was Mia ok? He still hadn't heard of the girl's condition, but it wasn't like he went to check on her either. Perhaps he would consider it while he was in town, but in the back of his mind he knew he would avoid that situation. There was no lying to himself. The past encounter with humans was beginning to turn himself off of the race and he wanted even less to do with them.
A brief sigh passed his lips as he squinted from shop sign to shop sign. It took several minutes to find the optometrist and enter the store. Glasses were one thing he needed from the humans, as he couldn't think of any exorcisma skilled in their creation. Human technology was vastly superior in some aspects. But in the world where money talks, the exorcisma found himself leaving only minutes after he entered in a huff.
"Stupid saleswoman..." He growled under his breath, his brow creasing in anger. She had denied him simply because he had no appointment! He was an exorcisma! He shuldn't need an appointment when he traveled hours by foot to purchase a new pair of glasses. He couldn't even call to make one, having no telephone that she spoke of! The poor man was so frustrated he wanted to cry. Stomping off from the store in a huffy, the tall man wandered down the street searching for another optometrist that would take a walk-in client.✖ Monet While the exorcism struggled entering into the bumbling society, Monet was completely comfortable. His day had been rather eventful, but nothing out of the ordinary. After a nice visit to the mountains, where a large lake was hidden, he'd transformed into his leviathan shape, and taken a nice long swim. It was rare to find pools large enough for his true size. He was no simple sea serpant. He was a creature of the depths, of the ocean! Of course he could swim in his human form, but... it felt nice to be a sleek muscular mystical creature coursing through the chilled water.
With morning exercise finished, he'd returned to the lively town, greeted by the ceaseless chatter of others coexisting, tongs, and tickings, and thuds and bells. How lovely~ the elegant man made his way through the thriving civilazation with ease, as if floating, each crossing leg smooth, his gait carefree to mimick his very calm expression. The long tail behind him swayed like a slinking snake, the jewerly adorned there tinkering softly with each movement, the scales on the limb shimmering like coins. A similar sheen was visible from shoulder, cheek, and ears, giving a very sparkly appearance to his entire being. It was sure to catch attention. A few sparing sweet and coy smiles to a few gentlemen who pleased the eye were given, but Monet didn't stop. He had a mission after all. And that was lunch! Seafood sounded delightful~ sushi... he hadn't had that in awhile!
There was a charming little sushi joint along a strip mall, which would also lead to shopping afterwards. Yes, on his days off Monet took advantage of all the free time he had. Pampering was a necessity after such stressful days, after all! But while he strolled the streets, smoothing back his silky blue hair over a shoulder, his seagreen eyes caught sight of... something familiar. A figure to be precise.. His finned ears gave a few twitches in surprise, long lashes batting as well as if to refresh his gaze. Hadn't he seen that man before...? he.. didn't look too happy.. Delicate brows creasing lightly, he took a few longer strides, not that they weren't already what with his 6'3 towering height, but enough so he could catch up, and call out to the exorcism, "Pardon me, sir, but haven't we met before?" he asked once he caught up, taking to the others side with his usual trademark charming smile. Cassiel He was trying to avoid the city pedestrians as much as possible, but standing over six feet tall gains you some attention. Being oddly dressed with pointed ears didn't help his 'just try to blend in' idea. Just another reason to avoid the cities. Especially when the majority of the population was out and about. But when a man suddenly appeared at his side, the exorcisma stopped in his tracks. Met before? He was about to deny any previous meeting until his eyes caught a glimpse of those scales. Yes... They had met before!
Cassiel's face washed clean and soon a large smile was offered to the mononoke. He looked rather relieved to see a familiar face in an ocean of strangers. "Monet. I am so glad to see you." He muttered, stepping closer to the man as he grasped his arm gently. "Please, can you help me? I am trying to get a new pair of glasses, and I still need to return yours... but the one place I went to turned me away!" He frowned once more, a twinge of desperation in his voice. "She told me to call and make an appointment but I do not own one of those telephone things. I don't know what to do... Is there another place that will sell me a pair of glasses? I tried to fix mine but they are beyond repair."
His eyes pleaded with the mononoke, his grip firm yet gentle on Monet's arm. "Someone on the street told me 'go to the mall' but, what's the mall?" The poor man was really over his head and his stress level was obviously rising the longer he was there. The human world was vastly different than what he was used to and it took everything in him not to flee back to the woods. He needed new glasses. That necessity alone kept him in this horrible city of loud noises, rude people and unfamiliar territory.✖ Monet That winning smile only brightened as Cassiel accepted their acquaintanceship, lanky tail giving a pleased coil behind him. Ah, but that distress was still very present in the pale man's face, causing Monet to look a tad worried himself. With the explination given, he cooed softly, "Oh honey, that's simply awful~" the arm that had been grabbed bent to gently tuck underneath Cassiel's like he had linked them before, "Show me this place that rejected you. Let me have a talk with them." he declared, eyes already darting about to find this very unprofessional sounding shop. It was rare that he ever was turned away, thus couldn't even fathom what Cassiel might be going through. But he certainly wasn't going to stand for it. And the distraught demeanor that exude from Cassiel only aided in fueling his maternal instinct.
Gently, he pulled the exorcism to his side, tail curving around to wrap along one of his legs too, in a rather protective type of stance, while he inspected the fellow long eared gent's face closely, lips pursing as he observed his own glasses adorned on the pale nose, "It must have been quite uncomfortable for you all these days, what with not having the appropriate prescription. Have your eyes been hurting, or your head?" he asked with a concerned tone, lightly letting his second hand rise to fiddle with the rims of the glasses that were worn. "I only need my own for when I'm doing work, so I can only imagine having to wear them 24/7!" sighing softly, he gave a shake of his head, and gently let his hand caress his companion's cheek in disdain, "The mall is the next best place. And.. I could do some shopping there myself." smile returning, as bright and brilliant as his scales, he let his stroking hand lift to give a wave of dismissal, "Come, I'll take you~ It's far better than a stuff old office anywho~" he sing-songs, giving a soft tug to instigate Cassiel to follow along. Cassiel Cassiel melted into the touch, obviously overwhelmed by his surroundings. The familiar presence of another was greatly appreciated and the exorcisma relaxed against Monet. "I don't want to go back there. It was embarrassing enough to be turned away once..." He didn't want to experience it again, but he followed the man after saying the directions to the store.
"My eyes are tired. I squint often and it's becoming bothersome at home. So I wanted to get a new pair quickly and return these to you. I'd be lost if I didn't have them, so I am eternally grateful." So well mannered, and yet clueless! His lack of knowledge for the human world was comical and he certainly needed to get out more. "I'm glad you will take me to this mall. I would like to see it..." Though he many not completely enjoy it, Monet's companionship would definitely make it more enjoyable.
While they walked, golden eyes began to wander and observe. It was a complete change of his demeanor now that he wasn't alone. Monet would guide him and that was enough reassurance for the exorcisma to relax. Once relaxed, he allowed himself to observe this strange human world that at times was rather frightening. "Have you heard anything about the children? This is my first time back to the town since that day, and it is much sooner than I would have liked. I would have been happy never setting foot in here again... I have gone to the smaller town called Clarus Arbor for its bakery. That town is far less intimidating than here." He explained, glancing to his current travel companion. "Have you ever been there? After such a trying even I thought it ok to treat myself to some baked goods... and... I ate them all faster than I should have. Perhaps I will get more on my way out of this place."
He laughed now, giving Monet's arm a gentle and yet playful squeeze. "I'm so glad you found me. I would still be at my wits end if I were alone. I was ready to turn and run for home! It was all too new, too fast and, well, I was frightened to be alone. So, thank you. I owe you, big time."
✖ Monet The red spines of his ears collapsed onto one another, closing the thin membrane from being seen, "Oh gosh, that just sounds so uncomfortable." he muttered, giving a pat to their joined arms, "Well don't worry we'll get you a pair in no time!" he assured. He often went to the mall for his glasses in fact, since they were so nice there, and he was usually touring there as is.
His eyes did stray from his companion, to check out a few passerby's, ears twitching back to their normal position with the questions posed. Prying his gaze away, he looked back to Cassiel, head tipping slightly in thought, "Nope~ I didn't know any of them, so I have no idea how any of them are~" he chuckled. "I'm sure they're alright though. We got them in time, and they were taken to get treated." he replied. He wasn't too worried. Hadn't really thought about that day too much, in truth. Smirking though, he gave a wry smile, "Not much of a city person, hm Cassy?" he asked with a teasing tone. "Well that's alright. Clarus Arbor is just fine~ I've been a few times myself! Quite a cute little place~" he hummed. Soon enough they were before the large mall, at one of it's wings, and Monet went ahead to open the door for the both of them, giving a light chuckle from the soft squeeze, "Don't worry, sweetheart~ If you stick with me, you'll be just fine~" the poor dear was like a scared, lost pup!
Upon stepping into the mall, there was instantly a sight of lavishness, and high-end tailoring placed about them, with pristine marble floorings, and appealing lighting that really made them stand out. Walking with grace and poise, the leviathan hummed softly to himself, already eyeing a few pieces, before gently guiding his companion down a path to go further into the main artery of the gigantic building, "Let's see... I believe the glasses store should beeee... on the other side of here." they'd unfortunately entered the mall in an inconvenient area, but that just meant more time to check out other shops too! "While we're here, maybe you can look at some other things that might take your fancy, hm? There's LOTS offered at malls, after all! a whole bunch of stores compiled into one place! Isn't that nice?" he chimed merrily, tail fin flickering to show his glee, "Perhaps some acessories? clothing? shoes?" He paused, eyeing the man, "Though you have quite the interesting get-up as is!" he went on to think some more. "or something for the house, or entertainment, hm?" Surely the guy couldn't come out here just for a pair of glasses! Cassiel One step inside. That's all Cassiel managed to take before he froze in his place. He had been inside clothing stores before, although Exorcisma in nature. Most were tailors that made things to order. This was quite different than what he was used to! He had to be nudged forward, but he started to walk across that marble floor with wide golden eyes. He wanted to stop and feel all the fabrics but Monet kept him on task. He needed glasses first. So he reluctantly followed the Mononoke with a small bobbing nod of his head.
"Everyone I meet tells me I stand out." And it was true. When you were six feet tall and dressed in a bright purple and gold, you stood out. The ears didn't help him any. "But I am happy with my clothing. Besides, I only have enough money for glasses. The donations at the shrine have dropped substantially over the years and I sold a few paintings a few days ago for some coin. Perhaps if I have money left over I will purchase something from this mall..." Why not? He wanted a memento of sorts, as he never planned to come back here.
But once they exited the clothing retailer, he gasped in shock. People were bustling to and fro from one shop to another. He again stopped to watch. His eyes followed a woman with several bags scolding a child as she dragged him along, he could clearly hear the conversation about touching things when he wasn't supposed to. Someone was being grounded later. And an elderly woman who was knitting on a bench placed in the center of the walk away. His eyes fixated on her fingers. Although they were aged they were still nimble enough to work the yarn and needles. A man paced as he scolded someone not there; an odd contraption to his ear. He was speaking into it and Cassiel had no idea what it was. Two teenage girls near by giggled as they looked the exorcisma over, and it caused the man to blush ever so slightly. Was he really that odd looking? The laughter seemed to break him from his trance and he once again followed Monet.
It wasn't long until they reached the resident optometrist in the mall, and thanks to Monet's help, they were more than happy to take the walk in Exorcisma. He was separated from his companion and shipped into the back for an eye exam. A half hour later he emerged from the back rubbing his eyes, his eyes dilated. It was a new experience for him and his eyes certainly didn't like it! Shuffling towards the blur that was Monet, he looked at the leviathan with a pout upon his face. The Saturn symbol in his eyes was engorged and looked as if the planet exploded in his eyes. If he looked like a sad puppy before the dilation only made it worse, even his ears drooped slightly. "The woman said to come back in two hours. My frames were too old to be reused, out of style she said. But she'll get a similar pair and put the new lenses in." Again he started to rub his eyes while speaking still. "She mentioned something about a payment plan too... she seems willing to work with my situation. Better than that other woman." He huffed at the end of his sentence, recalling the woman that all but threw him out of the store. "We can walk the mall while we wait. That's what she suggested. Was there something you needed to do here while we have spare time?" He asked his companion, blinking those sad, dilated eyes at him.✖
