Another voice spoke up, and the impromptu nurse pointed at Tambrey as if she were some kind of schoolteacher calling on a pupil and consulted her list, "Agent Panther and Grunt Luxury... These are definitely people that exist, yes. Agent Panther's in recovery with painkillers; not much what can be done for smashed ribs except patience. Grunt Luxury was... wow, more surgery. She should be out now, but uhh..." she looked up from the clipboard with a raised eyebrow, "I mean, what even was this mission? This is sort of ridiculous."
Mau essentially collapsed into a chair, and the girl looked on with a passing expression of concern. Clearly there was some sort of hectic thing that went down, and it was obvious that the stress was wearing on at least one of them. "Oh, yeah, anyone want anything? Like, water or... uh, more water... I dunno, I'm pretty sure I saw 'gofer' in my job description, so." She gave a light, dismissive shrug.

Tambrey nodded, giving a quick grateful flickered smile. She was glad to hear that those two were receiving proper care, but she'd probably keep worrying anyway. Maybe she'd bring Palu and Pygi to see Panther and Swiftwing when she could. That would be nice, surely. "Thank you," She told Arcadie then offered. "It was..." Wait, what could she say and what couldn't she? Er, settle on a descriptive word... Ah, there wasn't really a good one. Abort the sentence. It could be a fill in the blank sentence. There just wasn't an appropriate way to describe what they'd just come back from. There was nothing that Tambrey wanted or needed at that moment, and she suspected the question wasn't so much meant for her as it was for the man who had just collapsed to the chair anyway. She chose to let him be, when she was suddenly aware of a friendly presence around her legs. "Hello, you." She greeted with a warm smile to the familiar water type. She never had quite managed to thank Aki properly. Crouching was going to be painful, but she did want to greet the pokemon properly, so with a wince and a sharp intake of breath, she shifted her position to reach down to pet him gently. "Thank you, by the way."

Alba had been vaguely aware that a mission was to happen that day, mostly because his roommate, Inigo, had mentioned something about it before running off that morning. At some point, he'd also found out that Aulus was part of the group, but he didn't recognize anymore names. And so, the day had gone along fairly plain and normal. That is, until the latest rumors started spreading in their usual forest fire fashion.
The deployed Rockets had returned. One was dead.
Hell if Alba remembered how he got there, or how in the name of Arceus he didn't get hopelessly lost in building in the process, but in what seemed like no time at all yet far, far too long, he was shoving a door open with perhaps more force than intended. He stopped short just enough into the room for the door to be able to close behind him. It was the waiting room he had entered. He numbly noted who was present; those who he recognized, who he knew, and who he'd never met at all. Mau and Jerome, he only recognized in passing. Claire, however, he knew, and so he searchingly focused on her. Who was hurt? Is it true? Of all the times for words to fail him, words had a habit of picking the worst.

Claire's brows rose as Hayes walked up before the trainee could even answer their questions, and she was relieved to see he was alright too. If he was up and walking around, that meant he was fine. And, thank Arceus, Aulus was too. The agent let out a long, slow breath, disregarding a little more aggressively than she'd intended the desire to go in and see him. No, he was fine, she could go in a few minutes. Right? Right. Let him wake up a bit more. ...though, she couldn't help but worry and wonder how he'd gotten hurt and just how badly, if he was just waking up...
And then Alba burst in looking all kinds of worried and concerned. Claire turned to him in surprise, lips parting slightly before she stepped over to him. "Alba, are you alright?" She knew he didn't go on the mission, but--ohh, did he know someone that went? That must be it. Too bad she didn't know exactly who he was concerned about, otherwise she could tell him immediately. "Who're you worried about?"

Go figure, why did he have to go and probably draw too much attention to himself by blundering in like that? Instead of mentally kicking himself, however, he was trying to fight down a new knot in his throat. "Is... Has anyone seen..." What kind of jerk would he look like if he just blurted out a name, and that was the person who... the person who had...
Claire didn't seem particularly distraught or upset, though, and he remembered from past conversations that she and Aulus were close. Context clues therefore dictated that it likely wasn't Aulus who has... passed. "I'm sorry. I heard... rumors." He shook his head. "Is there any word on Inigo?" He looked between Claire and the girl he assumed to be connected to the medical staff, and glanced around at the rest of the faces for any signs of recognition at the name. "He's grunt-level. It was his first mission, and... yeah..." he finished lamely.

No one seemed to want anything, and no one seemed to have anything to offer about the circumstances that had invoked all these injuries. She was ready to shrug it off and return to the back rooms when the door was suddenly pushed open. The trainee regarded the new arrival with raised eyebrows and pursed lips.
"Nasty things, rumors," she commented offhandedly as she turned back to The List once more. She hummed briefly. "Nnnnnnnnope, he's not on this paper, so 90% safe to say he's all clear." She offered an enthusiastic thumbs-up and a broad smile as if Alba had just won some sort of contest, "Congrats!"

A wave of recognition passed over her face - rumors. Had he heard that someone died? On her way here she hadn't heard anything about that, but Arceus... Not wasting any time, she walked over and gently touched his arm with a shake of her head. "I don't know who that is," sounded like he was just fine though, so that was good, "but... one of the agents died. Aila," she said softly. While she wasn't sure if Alba knew the agent, she didn't want to upset him if he did.

Aki cooed at Tambrey at the affection and thanks. Though he regarded her a little worriedly as she seemed to be in pain. "Por?" He gave her hand a lick, then remained staring at her with his blue eyes. Was she hurt? She should sit, right? Aki was good at protecting humans! So he should protect her from... uh... herself. And more hurting. "Vapor por."
Mau looked up at Arcadie when she asked if anyone wanted anything. He shook his head, but really couldn't get words out. Not until a man burst in and looked rather frantic. Inigo? Huh, wasn't that the guy... He was sure that was his name.
"Inigo didn't get hurt." He affirmed after what Arcadie said. "Or if he did, it wasn't anything serious. He helped bring the wounded back."

Yes, rumors were very nasty things, and Alba had really wanted these rumors to be false. He let out a breath he hadn't noticed he was holding at the trainee's news, and nodded gratefully to Mau for his. "That's... that's good to hear. Thank you." So the kid had helped get everyone else back? Good. That was good.
He turned his attention to Claire at the touch to his arm. "I'm sorry," he said honestly, bowing his head. "I'm afraid I didn't know her. What about you?" Alba asked hesitantly, putting his free hand over Claire's and trying to read her face. "Are you going to be okay? I heard Aulus was there."

Claire nodded, relaxing a bit as he seemed to calm down. She'd been similarly relieved when she's heard how Aulus was. "Good," she said with another nod. The hand over hers elicited a brief, mildly confused look from the agent before she offered him a small, sad smile. "I wasn't.. close to her, but I did like her. She was a good agent," she finished with a sigh. It was still very sad and upsetting, especially since it essentially was Galactic that killed her. Her brow furrowed again briefly before her expression cleared again. "Aulus is fine," she said, "supposedly should be waking up soon if you want to see him." The true meaning of Alba's question completely escaped her.

Alba nodded, more to himself than anything, and smiled tightly in sad assurance at Claire. "I'm sorry for your loss, then. As for Aulus... no." He glanced around at the room at large again, to the doors he had entered through before, then back to Claire. "I'll stop by and visit later. I should go find the kid-- I mean, Inigo. Check how he's doing." He hesitated again, before leaning forward to give her a quick, one-armed hug, saying his brief good-bye, and walking back out of the waiting room to track down his young roommate.

She nodded with a sad smile at him, uttering a "thank you" before he spoke of finding this Inigo - obviously someone he cared a great deal for, if he was so worried about him and even called him 'kid'. It was cute. The sudden hug caught her by surprise though, as evidenced by the way her eyebrows arched before she smiled and returned the gesture with her own one-armed hug. "Alright, Later," she said with a nod before he left. Well, that was.. unexpected, for one thing. The way he had rushed in and then rushed back out was similarly unexpected, but regardless she liked to see Alba. She liked him, he reminded her of Lucas a bit, except... Not quite.

Galactic. Anything to do with Galactic was worth investigating, and so when the mission team appeared in the garage Frost spent only a little while helping to secure it - and ogling it a bit - before heading to the infirmary. Really creating things in the shape of pokemon was frivolous and sometimes detrimental to aerodynamics, but Diemos made it work. That, along with all of his other achievements, was definitely a reason both for professional jealousy and personal fascination. He wanted to meet the man on neutral ground and just... just....
There was no point fantasizing about the impossible; for now the best he could do was find out what had happened on the missions, what they'd seen of Deimos. Oh, he should probably also find out how the operatives were doing; they had all been rather rushed out of the jet.
As it happened, Frost arrived just in time to hear the death of one of the Agents being discussed. Agent Aila. He had... respected her. 'Like' was a very strong word coming from Frost and he didn't quite feel he could use it but he had respected her, and was saddened that he wouldn't get to speak with her again.
By the sounds of it everyone was currently busy discerning the status of those fortunate enough to still have a pulse now though, which was quite fair enough in his opinion. The loss of Aila but the dead, after all, did not get any worse than they already were.
"Grunt 'Brey," Frost said after some moments, approaching the familiar girl as she didn't seem to be too occupied, "I am pleased to see you are mostly in one piece. Was your mission a success?"

(Aki/Mau) Aw. It was time like this that would mix with the events she'd witnessed and haunt her later on, make her question why exactly she was where she was... Team Rocket, where pokemon were tools and the only way out... Well. She just wasn't all that good at thinking of pokemon as 'tools', it seemed; they were too fascinating and most, in different ways, were a sheer pleasure to be around. Aki certainly was. She smiled at the lick, though she wasn't entirely certain what the Vaporeon wanted her to do, so she went to give him another bit of petting, shifting slightly to ease her aching and the discomfort running through her side. "You are a friendly one, aren't you? Is he yours?" The latter part was asked of the man who was sitting, after he'd spoken to someone who seemed rather nervous. Ah. Inigo. She needed to thank him as well. It was reassuring to hear about people who were okay, even when she already knew that they were. (Frost) And there was Frost. Oh. This meant she should stand. She gave Aki another stroke before wincing as she brought herself back up. "Erm.. Hi, thanks, Frost." Was she supposed to be calling him 'Agent Frost' at the moment? Promotions. Well, at least she knew what he'd appreciate; direct, clear answers. "Technically... Yes, the mission objectives were achieved. I'd... assume y've seen the thing we came back in? As for... a success; we lost someone." A death. The loss of Aila meant she really couldn't feel good about calling it a success in any other form... But it seemed sensible to state for Frost that it had, technically, been mission accomplished. Likely he'd already come across talk of the death. She wasn't sure what that would mean to him.

As she stood, Aki chirped at her. Mau looked up. Tambrey glanced at him and asked about the Vaporeon. "Yeah, he's mine." She didn't look like the girl Aki had been assisting at the machine. ... Was his vaporeon trying to pick up chicks or something? Aki stared at Mau with a vacant expression as Tam's focus shifted to Frost. He recognized the man, and still felt- awkward about how Nuu had accosted him more then once. But he rather enjoyed the man's company. Very grounded, that one.
"Frost." Mau greeted the other agent softly as he listened to Tam greet him. But at the mention of the loss of someone, he shifted quickly. Had there been a table in front of the chair where he sat, it would have been kicked over in his sudden movements.
