Reina grunted as she missed the girl and landed with a thump on the ground. She lay there for a moment, fully aware that the suspect had escaped. She pulled herself up into a sitting position and grabbed the envelope. She stared at the chicken scratch writing, recognizing it as Wimples. It was addressed to her but she was almost afraid to open it but her curiosity demanded it. Ed had thing under control with suspect number one, it wouldn't hurt to take a moment to see what was in it... with a small sigh she ripped it open and pulled out the contents...

The envelope's contents were simple: a slice of lined paper folded into thirds. Unfolding the letter would reveal Wimple's ever disgraceful penmanship and a placeholder of "Dear Reina," to the beginning of a rather crestfallen message: Dear Reina,
You might find it odd receiving a letter like this. Maybe not, considering I stuff love letters into your locker every other weekend . . . But! Don't throw this letter away. I'm going to be honest in this letter and tell you exactly how I feel.
Simply put, I love you Reina Sol.
Okay, you've read those words a lot, I'm guessing. But! Don't throw this letter away. Seriously. It's not sappy like the others . . . I think. We've been together on the force for some time. Too long, to be honest, but I can honestly say I fell for you the first time I saw you. Well, I do fall for most pretty girls the first time I see them . . . But! Don't throw this letter away. I want to tell you that you're different.
You're strong unlike all the other girls I've fallen for. You have a great head on your shoulders (and a very pretty face to boot) and you put your duties of an officer first even before my blatantly obvious feelings. That's admirable, especially from a hopeless romantic like me . . . I knew I never stood a chance against what you considered first, but at least you can give me credit for trying? You're going to make whatever man you choose happy, even though he would never be me. Did it matter I was three months younger than you? I hope not.
Okay, I'm straying. This letter is not only another confession. You see, I'm going to be handing in my badge after that mansion mission of ours. My rents are having some trouble back home in Almia with the family business, so I promised them I'd return home to them whenever they got trapped into trouble. Since I wouldn't ever see you again, I thought the best way to tell you how I feel for the last time would be better written . . . Besides, I don't think I'd ever work up the balls to tell you seriously without commenting on how great your a** is (it's a masterpiece). So, anyway, that's how I feel. Thanks for working with me, Reina, and thanks for being a good semi? friend. It's been great.

P.S. Let Ed know I'm leaving! Don't think I could tell the old man I'm leaving anyway. He intimidates the crap out of me. Across from Ed, Officer Wimple's badge remained a smoldered hunk of metal amidst a pile of broken glass. Unfortunately, the precinct won't be having a badge traded in and a pair of parents won't be getting a son back.

Reina groaned, this was just the icing on the cake of her horrible day. He was stupid, so stupid, but he hadn't been a bad guy... She felt tears threatening to spill and quickly rubbed her eyes to thwart them. She shoved the letter back into the envelope and folded it so it would fit in her pocket and slid it in. She pulled herself to her feet, suddenly feeling tired and heavy, as if her arms and legs were made of stone. Too much had happened today... never mind that the suspect had escaped, it just didn't seem to matter to her anymore.
With a heavy sigh she turned and made her way back to Ed and Cetus. She cast them a stern look, all traces of sadness gone from her expression "C'mon Ed we havent got time to sit around all day.We should escort our captive to the precinct and get started on the piles of paperwork that no doubt awaits us." she turned her head to survey the mess and spotted the badge. Carefully she picked her way over and picked it up, sliding it into her pocket alongside the letter. She would write to his parents herself, and she would send the badge with it. It was the least she could do for him now.

"Of course," Ed said quietly. "You might want to cuff yourself to her other hand, she seems like a slippery one." Ed hauled himself to his feet, pulling Cetus up as well.

Cetus grunted as she was hauled up, still quite pretty under the matted mess of turquoise hair and streams of red oozing from her the litter splinters of glass. A pearly smile was aimed at Sol's upset face. "My sapphire got away but this turned out to be a pearl in the rough." she said. "One of your own got blown to itty-bitty smithereens. Makes me smile."

Reina, emotions already running high, snapped.. She whirled around and stomped back over and get right into the woman's face " Say it again b***h, i dare you" she said, voice dripping with menace. this woman had caused them enough trouble, and by Reina's reasoning it was Cetus's fault Wimple had been killed.

That smarmy grin never left. Hell, if there was a punch coming, she was expecting it. "That wimp is dead." she laughed. "D-E-A-D because you sent him to cover the grounds. Way to sacrifice your own, girly. If you want to memorialize him, I believe his head's a mile thatta way." She cocked her head towards the estate's surrounding forest. "I'm sure he'd be happy to see you."

Reina lost it, fully and completely and threw a punch at the woman connecting with the side of her face " oops, hand slipped" she muttered before whirling around. Reina was beyond angry and she wanted nothing more than to take it all out on Cetus, but one punch would have to suffice. She wasn't about to get in trouble for police brutality on top of everything else that had happened. She took a few deep steadying breaths then turned back to the two and pulled out her own pair of cuffs slapping one end around Cetus's other wrist and the other around her own. " Time to go convict, you wont be escaping this time."

"Let's go. Quicker we can get her to lockup, quicker she isn't our problem anymore," Ed said. He led the way, holding the short handcuff chain and not being particularly careful not to tug on the grunt's wrist.

Spittle fluttered against the wind as she was decked hard. Nothing she wasn't quite used to. "You punch like a wimp." she coughed as her cheek burned, blood coursing into the fleshy side to eventual swelling. Inwardly, she sighed as she was dragged away back to the hell she despised. Going to prison once left her jittery, going again left her a bit more panicked than usual. Last time she got locked up, higher-ups threatened to leave her there. Arceus damn it, she was in some s**t this time.

Reina nodded once, she would be glad to see the end of the woman, at least for now. She had no doubt Cetus would trouble the police again, Reina just hoped she wasn't around when it happened. " Right, lets go" she said and turned on heel and walked away with a brisk pace dragging both Cetus and Ed with her.

Ed quickly stepped up his pace to match Reina. As the emerged from the building Ed nodded towards one of the units. "We should grab a ride back. I plan to stick to her until we get her to the cell. No way I'm handing her off," Ed told the female officer.
