"We are Halloween, and we can never die," Jerry finally mumbled. The burns hurt, his cheek was stinging under his bandages, and his eyes were aching without their glasses, but he was... alright. Perhaps just a bit emotionally distraught. "How... how can we destroy something that can never die?" He wobbled, wrapping the blanket around himself tightly. "I g-guess... we can't die either? I thought I had died.... pretty sure..." His voice dipped down again, sounding small, confused. He wasn't sure about anything anymore, even as a lab tech shoved a thermometer in his mouth if only to get him to shut up.
He just wanted to be dismissed and go back to his room. He felt like he was ready to sleep for a month. A dim, rational part of his mind wondered if the same quarter master could help him find new glasses. Hopefully. He was pretty sure he had shoved his prescription notes somewhere... It was an easier crisis to ponder than 'I had been burned alive by what used to be one of our superiors turned monster' at least.

They were back.
But they had come back with jack s**t, unless you counted their leader, and barely him. They were out a battle instructor. The costume the house had fitted him with somehow folded back into his old jacket, sash, and boots. He still had Clarice's pink hello kitty bandaid on his forehead.
Harrison let a technician check his humanity, then rooted through his clothes and supplies. He was okay. No serious damage. B0nez had taken the brunt of it.
He was, for once, sitting on a cot without bleeding all over it.
He hoped Dr. H.'s team had better luck. He looked around for Clarice, but just caught the swish of her coat as she left the tent.

There was a movement next to him as someone sat down on the cot just beside his; Gale did not have to look up to know who it was, and for several moments he didn't say anything. Instead, he absently twisted the ring on his finger; after a moment, however, he tugged it off, as well as his gloves, and slid it back on, looking down at the golden runes inscribed on the silver.
He didn't know how to feel now. He'd died before, yes - so to speak. He'd had that horrible first mission, where he'd been slaughtered by the other people in the "test;" so far, nothing had been like that blood tinged experience, but this time...he'd been burned. Alive.
It was a strange feeling. Gale's body still remembered the burning heat, the way it had crept up his legs and arms, scorching his skin and blackening his face. There was a smear of ash across one cheek, and he'd need a new jacket at some point. He couldn't see his arms beneath the torn fabric; Davey had done a good job of bandaging him up, at the very least, though it still was a little painful to move. The rough bandages scratched uncomfortably against his neck, against the cut from their instructor that had not healed before he had been attacked again.
And then there was the cold; Gale couldn't quite figure it out. It seemed to seep from his fingertips up his body, though it was starting to fade now. Upon his first awakening it had been chilling, like Jinhai got when he was gathering FEAR, but now it was sort of a dull coolness.
Gale's eyes moved sideways, following the line of Clarice as she whisked back and forth, clearly irritated. There were lab techs passing out thermometers, and with a resigned sort of blankness, Gale took one, obediently sticking it in his mouth.
After a moment, he slid his gaze sideways to Bix.
"You look terrible."

Everything happened so fast,Leon didn't even remember activating the pendant tucked safely around his neck but before he knew it, there was no a blank room ahead of him, but a place for emergency care. Their leader safely in tow and himself with a minimal amount of burns, 1st degree at best. It didn't take long to find the gunsword slinger and the cowled inferno and waved at hand at them before slumping casually against the wall with a pilferd water bottle. "So how are your injuries you guys, had them looked at yet?" Joking aside, he had to be sure about their safety and status of health. Its nice and warm here, go get food."Well well Nid, nice of you to join us, by us I mean me." he said, surprised by the sudden return of his dragon companion. "You went quiet there for a while, had a sleep coma or something?" Well that thing hit me with something cold, like a random Ice dragon appeared, was never good with my northern brethren. The boxer wanted to question further as his mouth was left wide open, but quickly snapped shut and saved it for another time. "Either way, looks like we need more training, and less eating for you."

Madison listened as Candace continued reporting to Clarice, then jumped as a medic came over and tapped her on the shoulder, handing her her very own not-thermometer thingie. She sighed and put the thing in her mouth, pressing her lips closed around it; thus, she could only give Clarice a nod as the Life Hunter walked away to attend to other duties. Candace moved into another conversation, and Madison couldn't really talk with this damn thing in her mouth anyway. Instead, she shuffled back over towards Jordan and Ennea, feeling awkward again. She stared crossly (literally) at the not-thermometer sticking out of her mouth, waiting for it to beep already. The more she stood here, the more she wanted a shower... maybe a bath. And all the soap in the dormitory. She spotted another familiar face in her same predicament, though, and raised one hand to wave at Jerry. He looked to be in bad shape, too, but at least he was here. And not left behind.

Cass leaned over, propping her chin in her hand and giving the Boxer a long look. "I haven't had anything looked at yet. I don't really think I got hit all that much. Nicodemus got more of it than I did. I'm just a bit burnt. Gimme a week and I'll be in tip top shape again." she could feel her feet again after that point.
"What I really want is a shower and then to go to bed." her eyelids drooped a little bit, emphasizing her exhaustion. But shower was definitely first on her to do list. She'd probably lose about ten pounds of grim with one. She'd certainly feel that much lighter by effect, if nothing else. She continued to watch Leon as he conversed with his weapon, scratching her chin with her other hand and then flumping back onto the cot with a groan.
"My entire body hurts.." she whined, though it was probably just muscle pain. She'd never worked so hard in her life. "Leeooonnn, I need to work out more so it doesn't hurt so much next timmeeee" she continued to whine, though she was fully aware that whining at him would garner some sort of a solution. "Jude, you should do it too. It'll be a party of the three of us and Marcus..and Jeremy if we can find where he went I guess, but at least us four. It'll be awesome..."

Generator, huh? How interesting! "Anytime, Clarice. Thanks for the uh...confirmation I'm human." If it meant this entire fiasco wouldn't happen again Candace would tolerate almost any kind of 'check'. Almost.
Candace looked Jerry's way when he asked about dying, lips pursing. She didn't have the heart to tell him he..did die. He had to have, there was no way he could have survived that ******** stunt he pulled. She felt his heart stop! And then...and then he was back. She didn't know how it happened but it happened. He was alive, though a little worse for wear. She reached over to put a hand on his knee and give it a gentle squeeze, sitting and quietly rubbing his knee. "It's okay, Jerr-bear. Shhhh." She reached up with her other hand to brush the back of her knuckles along his jaw line, scooting closer to him. "You're just stressed out. It'll be okay. Shh.."
Harrison arrived finally and Candace gave him a wave, watching as Clarice left. Quartermaster, huh? Fine then. She would have to go see him after she...slept for the next couple hundred years. "How're you holding up, Thirteen? Ah..you're gonna need a thermometer thing." Not that she didn't trust her teammate but he was going to get one shoved in his mouth anyway, he might as well get a warning first. It was only polite.

Jerry was content to sit there, even after his thermometer had started beeping, blindly staring out at the other wounded coming in, and somber Hunters all shuffling about as exhausted as he was. One of them was waving in his direction, but without his glasses... he squinted. Maybe... Madison? He wasn't sure, her hair wasn't quite the right shape, but he was looking fairly bedraggled himself... he waved back just in case. A shifting shape of pink was unmistakable though, "H-harrison?" he managed around the beeping thermometer, perking up a bit, "In one p-piece I um. Hope?" He gave a weak, trembling smile as Candace sat beside him, his eyes dropping down to the ground, His face reddening around the burns and bandages, "I'm... I'm okay. I think. Just... tired. And Chilly. I d-don't know about you guys but I'm ready to get n my PJ's, ah...ahaha..." At least he was sounding more coherent.

"They thermometered me, so you don't have to worry or nothing. I'm not turning into a giant dragon any time soon."
He grinned at Jerry.
"Yeah. One piece. Got my uniform back too. ...What happened to you? Don't tell me you're really a mummy."

Jordan moved eventually, looking up as a tech waved a thermometer insistently at him. Sighing, he freed one arm to take it, whatever it was, because it seemed that otherwise the tech wasn't going to go away. Now that he was paying attention to his surroundings again, he caught the last half of Clarice's explanation. Testing for human status ... well, it made sense, given that Aria had been ... How long, he wondered? Had the creature killed a Hunter and taken her place? Or had it been a longer-term project, a monster living silently somehow among them? He didn't particularly want to think about it. He looked around the courtyard, frowning a little. He was still holding Ennea, and Madison had come back to where they stood, and Jerry was on a cot nearby with Candace, but he couldn't see where Robert and Petra were. He'd have to look for them. In a little while. Some of the other faces that he recognized were here too. Everyone looked tired, singed and battered. Overhearing Harrison's comment, he managed a tired twitch of a smile, and raised his voice enough to be heard. "No, that was his golem."

Chilly? Candace frowned. "You're still cold? Would you like another blanket? M..maybe I can find a warm cup of water or coffee or something?" She was worried now. Why was he still cold? Was he in shock? He didn't seem to be, in fact he looked like he was feeling better. Mentally. Just mentally. He was still a wreck physically. She felt so pathetic being unable to do anything. She couldn't magically heal him, that was impossible; Candace also couldn't turn back time and stop him from jumping in front of a direct attack from the beast's flames. If she could? Oh, you could bet your a** she would. "Ugh. Sleep and a shower sounds great." Candace groaned and ruffled her own hair, plucking the little gold princess crown from her head and twirling it around one finger. It was tempting to keep it...though how it stayed on her head during all this was a miracle. The corset was in somewhat okay condition. It'd been protected by the robe. The pantaloons and stockings, however? Those were going in the trash. At Harrison's assurance he was human Candace chuckled and grinned at the man, gingerly putting her head on one of Jerry's shoulders. "That's good. I'd hate to have to kill you, Thirteen."I wouldn't. It'd be FUN! You never released my fear, Candace! You neglectful wielder, you. Atropos whined, though she didn't sound all that broken up about it. It just meant she got to enjoy it longer! Candace looked envious of Harrison's change of clothes, however. "Lucky duck. I need to...ah..." Candace blanched slightly and lifted her head away from Jerry as Harrison asked what happened to him, averting her eyes and looking away. She felt bad. Those burns? They were serious. And they were because he was protecting her. That..that idiot. Nevertheless, Candace lifted one of Jerry's hands and kissed his knuckles, keeping her lips pressed against them as Jordan joked about his golem. She chuckled. "I saw my horse boyfriend while we were there. He looked very angry to hear the voice of his beloved festival lover belonged to a human woman trying to kill his friends." Candace rolled her eyes and shook her head before gently putting Jerry's hand back down on his lap. She adjusted his blanket so it was draped more comfortably around Jerry and then finally stood, stumbling a bit as she put too much weight too soon onto her burned leg until she fixed her own posture. "I think I'm about ready to go back to my room. Are we free to leave if we're able?" Candace asked the nearest technician.

"Thanks." Bix snorted. "I was about to comment on how handsome you looked but if you are going to be like that..." The albino hunter was actually worried about what he would see in the mirror. "I'm so cooold." He flexed his fingers a bit and held his hands together. "Like I walked into a freezer and I am just waiting for it to wear off. I think I died.. or something." Bix didn't have it in him right now to avoid a topic. He was too tired and was just saying what was on his mind. His eyes dropped to the ground a bit and suddenly his face screwed up into horror. "Noooo..." He let out a whine and held up his braid. About 3 inches of it was singed off and it was starting to unravel. The ended were blackened and burnt. "So unfair.."

Ennéa wiped at her eyes but the tears were starting to subside as more hunters appeared and milled about the tent. A technician came up and brandished a thermometer at her, which she dutifully put in her mouth. She still didn't let go of Jordan though.
She listened to the conversation with idle interest and raised her eyebrows when she saw Candice kissing one of Jerry's hands. Ennéa looked at Jerry in surprise, she didn't know they were... were a thing. She sighed somewhat wistfully and a small part of her that she didn't even realize was there twinged and then quietly died.
Jerry had been a fun signing partner back when he was Zeta-Four. Of course, that was when they were all wearing gasmasks on the island and Ennéa didn't know that he was actually really old. She liked him though; he probably would have been her favorite teacher if she was still going to school.
Ennéa's thermometer beeped and startled her out of her thoughts. She took the instrument out of her mouth and tried to look at the readings but they didn't make much sense to her. Where was her temperature?
She fiddled with the thermometer and looked around for a technician, eager to pass it back and hear what they had to say about Candice's question about leaving the triage area. Aside from the bite on her leg she actually wasn't that beat up, but she was feeling pretty tired.

Jerry blinked at Harrison for several dumbfounded moments before the chuckle made his skinny frame shake, slightly-cross-eyed eyes dropping down to the bandages he could see on his arm poking out of the blanket, before turning into an outright laugh, "N-no, just... a bit crispy around the edges, ahahahaha...." The giggle cut short as Candace was suddenly hanging from his shoulder, kissing his hand, his heart a sharp drum beat reminding him that he was very much still alive and, "Things... could have been a lot worse, I think." His voice had regained a touch of his desperate manic, but he was trying to keep it together at least. The smile returned as registered that it was *Jordan* who had made the second half of the joke, his face contorting as he squinted his way, "Alpha, Sir! I'm glad to see- er... find out, you're alright! I trust you're alright? And..." There was no mistaking the pink hair, even in a glasses-less blur, "Ennea, you're alright too? Everyone... in one peace? Where are the others? We er.... showed them, huh? The monsters." Just keep it together. Keep smiling. Or people would think there was something wrong. Or catch on that he was on the verge of breaking into tears.

BEEP!Madison pulled the thermometer out of her mouth, finally, and made a face at it. Oh good, she was human. Whee. She handed the thing off to the nearest passing medic, then stepped up to the gathering group around Jerry - made of Phoenix and, uh, Unicorn alike. "I think we're all, like, okay," she said with a sigh of relief directed at Jerry. "Or okay-ish? Robert and Petra were back there, so they have to be here somewhere, right?" She wasn't worried, not about them anyway. "I don't know what to do now," she confessed, putting one hand back to brush through her (former) ponytail and scowling as broken nails touched melted hair. She was so tired, but she was also pent up with nervous energy. "Ugh, damnit, my hair, my... everything is all wrecked... it was worth it, though," she said, firmly, as if to convince herself too. "I think, maybe, we all did good? Right?" Kouki hissed assent inside her head.
