"That's good to hear Cetalese. It has, you should stop by some time. I'm sure Dynith would love some company." She laughed softly. "She always gets anxious around the really big dragons." Dynith, Cetalese and Halith are here. You could keep each other company. Optheli suggested gently.

She nodded. "Yup, brought a couple passengers myself. So many people wanting to come. Though I suppose it is rather important."
Dynith lifted her head slightly to look around. Hello Halith. It was much easier to talk to a fellow green.

"We didn't take anyone. The Weyrling Master wasn't pleased at the thought of the weyrlings coming, so I thought it would be best to just bring Halith and I." She didn't think the other weyrlings had carried passengers either, but she couldn't be sure, since she hadn't spoken to any of them yet, nor seen them leave or arrive.

"Southern is rather lovely." Nothing compared to Trine's lakes, but still pretty in its own way. And Ceta hadn't had the chance to investigate outside the weyr yet-- nor would she, most likely.

Halith turned her attention away from the males at the direct address and the speed of her eyes picked up again. She let out a pleasant little warble to punctuate her attention shift. Greetings, Dynith! How are you and Yours? Why have you been so quiet? You aren't scared of Plexith and Scarath, are you? They're all right. There's so much to do and talk about here! She had only met the Green once or twice before, in passing, but Cetalese had known Dynith and Hers, so it was easier to remember her name. She also happened to be the only other Green in the area, Halith noticed. Well, if the boys were going to talk, then so was Halith! Perhaps we can convince some of the other Greens to survey the area around Southern with us. I haven't met any dragons from the other weyrs yet. We can ask one from Malvren if we can find them! And, already, she had forgotten the tension between all of the weyrs and that she was supposed to stick to other Trine dragons. Well, look! Lerath was talking to that White, and Halith was sure there were no Whites at Trine!

"And I think Halith would love to visit. She's always look for new dragons to... talk to." Play with, really. She did love fun, not that Ceta could really object. It was the turn Halith's mouth was taking for uncouth remarks that Ceta was worried about. She never seemed to be able to stop her dragon before she got started.

Mercy/ Aerith - Malvren

Mercy cast a smile at Wykla as she joined them, it had been a while since she'd managed to spend time with the bluerider but she supposed that with everything that was happening such things were probably common. It was nice to see her now however. "As well as can be imagined I suppose" Mercy responded as she glanced around "At least everyone's been fairly civil so far" she stated though the tension was certainly thick enough to cut with a knife and had she known about the fight bout to ensue elsewhere she might have rethought her choice of words..but from where she was standing everything looked fairly peaceful. Or at least as peaceful as things could be with so much uncertainty between the Weyrs.

It was sad really..at any other time she would have liked to take this opportunity to get to know some other riders from elsewhere..but as it was she wasn't entirely sure how good of an idea that was. Probably best to just stick with those she knew.

Diverting her attention for a moment Aerith went to answer Kameth, the big winged blue was not always the most social of beasts but her's and his were friends so she made an effort to speak with him when she could. 'We are good' She told the blue 'Though mine is a bit worried that something unfortunate will happen today'

Turning her attention back to Lerath she went to continue their conversation not knowing that the other dragon was currently distracted by the actions of his rider. 'You were very brave to go' She told him truthfully 'I was too young at the time but we have a friend back home who was also wounded by the thread, you ought to be proud of such scars' She added with admiration, which was about the time she realized that something was off with the blue. 'Is..everything alright?' She asked hesitantly before speaking her rider 'mine..I think something is wrong somewhere'

'wrong where?' Was Mercy's response as she looked about 'I am not sure' Aerith admitted and Mercy's brow furrowed slightly "Aerith thinks there something wrong somewhere" She told the two she was with.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So far at least" D'lin agreed as S'kor and Optheli joined him and Ceta, he offered a smile to Optheli to be polite though in truth he knew S'kor the better, likely because they were fellow bronze riders. He was about to inquire if Ceta knew the other two and make introductions if not but the girls started chatting and he realized that they must.

'Just to bad that there is so much trouble surrounding it' Plexith agreed as he watched Scarath eye the human food being paraded around - really he couldn't understand his fellow bronzes obsession with the food, it tasted peculiar to him and he much preferred the better cuts of meat to the small pastries and other oddities that his liked to eat.

When Dynith answered in her typically timid fashion the bronze wasn't sure if he ought to say anything more to her and risk sending her fluttering off in fear or if he ought to just stay quiet and let her get comfortable around him first. It was important for the greens in the Weyr to like him the bronze felt - how else was he going to lead them properly against thread? And he would lead them and the rest of the Weyr if he had anything to say about it. Thankfully it seemed like he was saved by Halith who picked up conversation with her. 'We shall have to watch those greens' He told his fellow bronze with a draconic sigh 'Else Halith will drag her off to cause trouble'

(Wykla-Malvren, S’kor/Optheli- Trine)

Wykla gave a slow nod to Mercy. “Aye. I expected fights to be breaking out all over the place. Do you think it’s the threat of being sent away that keeps people on good behavior?” Random fights would make excellent distractions, she realized. Kameth, keep your eyes out for suspicious people and dragons. At least they would be on alert in case someone tried to repeat the assassin’s tricks.

She signaled a drudge with drinks over. Standing around waiting could be as boring as staying in her weyr. Plus she’d brought people, and couldn’t leave until everyone was ready. Wykla wondered what she’d gotten herself into as she picked a cup. A long flight with Kameth would have been better.
Kameth lifted his head and looked around. Alright Mine. There was so much going on. So is Mine Aerith. He felt it best not to expand on exactly what His feared. No sense upsetting the white and Hers. Wykla arched her brow as Mercy mentioned something might be wrong. Kameth? She got a negative and a shrug back from the dragon. “I’m sure if it’s something we’ll near about it soon enough.” There was a couple of large bronzes that could be seen over the other dragons, even for someone as short as she. They looked relaxed enough.

”That’s all we can hope for isn’t it? Really, if they wanted to guarantee nothing went wrong, they wouldn’t have allowed everyone to come.” He glanced out over the crowd then back to D’lin. “I think it helps that it’s at Southern and not one of our Weyrs.” That might help ease the tension and put riders on good behavior. S’kor grinned as his sister did her usual jump right in. Perhaps her cheer would brighten the mood; he was glad to have her along.

Scarath had to consider Plexith’s words before he responded. Bad things had happened that made the Weyrs scorn each other. This is to fix those troubles isn’t it? Dragons seem to be getting along well enough. A Gather would help mend relations between Weyrs. Surprised by Plexith’s comment, the large bronze looked toward the two greens in question as if just noticing them. Dynith just seemed to blend into the background. Why Plexith? Halith might drag her, but I think Dynith could keep her out of trouble.

Just then the moment he’d been waiting for appeared. A drudge with a laden tray stepped close to offer dainties to those standing around. Scarath swooped his head in and licked the platter clean. Earning a frightened yell from the drudge.
Movement at the corner of his eye caught his attention. “Scarath!” he yelled, as he turned to prevent what had already happened. Irritated he shot a look at the dragon licking his chops. “You couldn’t wait could you? Well I’m not going to get those dainties for you now.” He turned back to D’lin with a grumble feeling the dragon's remorse; his eyes watching the drudge flee toward safety. “How much you want to bet he will swear Scarath tried to eat him?” S’kor felt sorry the drudge.

Optheli nodded with a sympathetic smile. “I’m sure the Weyrling Master wouldn’t want young dragons straining themselves with passengers. At least you got to come. It’s certainly better than sitting at home waiting for word and listening to rumors.” She chuckled. The dining hall was surely full of them by now. Not that it was much better out here. They were just closer to the action. Optheli looked around at the folk just talking and waiting. “Feel like mingling any?” She rather wanted to meet some new riders herself. S’kor and D’lin didn’t need them hanging around.

We are good. Thank you for asking. Mine is very excited to be here. Dynith ducked her head and glanced toward the bigger males. Oh…. But I….. They are bronzes and so important. I wouldn’t want to bother them. She tried not to look toward the bronzes. What could a green possibly talk about with them?

That would be nice. I would like to see new places with Mine. There are lots of dragons to meet here. They all seem to be gathering up by Weyr. She looked around curiously. Yes, there is the Malvren White, and a couple blues with her I think.

Optheli grinned. “Great! Bring her by some evening. Dynith needs to socialize more. I’d love the company too.” She wondered briefly how the other girl bent. Time to worry about that later.

Cetalese and Green Halith - Trine (Since everyone else is doing it... Lol)

Mingle? Well, most of her hesitancy would be from being alone. It might be safer with a pair of them going, though Cetalese thought it would be rude to just walk away from D'lin. He had approached her, after all. She considered the offer for a moment, casting a quick look at D'lin, then nodded. "All right."

After all, D'lin was talking as well. She would ask him later if he had minded them leaving, but she was fairly sure he wouldn't. If he had, she would find a way to apologize. Her balance reasserted itself, just in time for the next-- slightly larger-- bit of off-balancing.

Ceta turned when S'kor did, already tensed for trouble, but then relaxed as S'kor chastised the large, but only slightly guilty-looking Bronze. A broad smile swept across her face before she tried to reassert some kind of control. It wouldn't do to upset S'kor by seeming to be amused with his Bronze's behavior when he so obviously wasn't. She would have to bring him something the next time she saw him.

I saw the white! I saw her! Halith half-stood, bumping into Zetath in the process, as she craned her head to look for the white again. I wonder if she wants to come exploring with us, too. We should ask her! Good idea, Dynith! Come on. The Green crouched and then sprang straight up into the air with several powerful thrusts of her wings. She glided over to the small gathering of Blues and Whites and began coasting in circles above them. Hello, hello! Down there. Excuse me. Dynith and I were going to take a flight around Southern's forests. Would you like to join us? Oh, I meant the White, but all of you are welcome, too.

Ceta stilled suddenly, staring into the middle distance, and then her eyes searched for Halith, immediately discovering she had moved. Love, where are-- What are you doing?

We were going to explore the land around Southern while you wait for the Weyrleaders to be done. I was just inviting some dragons from Malvren and one of the other Blues from Trine. Dynith is coming!

Halith...

I already invited them, Cetalese! I can't take that back! Halith began flying in figure-8s over the group, bored with regular circles already.

You aren't to go far. Did you forget that this isn't the place to play around? Our relationships with the other weyrs aren't good right now. We can't cause any trouble.

Everything seems fine, Cetalese. Don't worry so much! Are you looking to turn into a wherry? I keep telling you if you don't find more adventure you're never going to learn to have fun and you'll just be boring aaaaallll the tiiiiiiime. Just like when you always want to work. She shifted her attention back to the dragons below her. Are you coming?

And that was exactly what worried Cetalese about Halith's mouth. Her face took on a sterner cast. Halith. Be more polite if you're going to be talking to dragons from other weyrs. I don't want to be the cause of some incident. The Weyrling Master will have our heads for supper.

Don't be silly. The Weyrling Master wouldn't eat heads. Halith seemed to sense that Cetalese was moving into "iron fist" mode and abruptly changed tunes. Yes, Cetalesemine.

S'kagi and Crimson Luvith-Trine

If S'kagi had been slightly less sure about the degree to which they would stand out among the traditional colors than Luvith was (She was quite disconcertingly enthusiastic...), then he probably shouldn't have worried, what with the 'Malvren White' on the scene. Tiny as it was, the startling opalescence of the little dragon must have been drawing any number of eyes, and probably not all of them friendly.

So they're pretty... what's so remarkable about whites? Luvith questioned, not meaning to be rude, but genuinely curious.

the first A-type that was hatched was a white, If I remember right. And I can't remember any others that have hatched.

S'kagi explained, as he slid to the ground from the Crimsons back. (She made a somewhat distinct point of stretching her wings deliberately and slowly just one more time... just in case anyone had missed her lovely underwings. (a distinct point of pride with her.)

I see, thats interesting. I wonder if Benden is jealous. She pondered. From S'kagi, she still had uncertain feelings about the stiff backed weyr, and was puzzled yet that they could refuse to hatch such clearly amazing dragons as herself and others like her.

If they are, I doubt they'll admit it. But I doubt that they enjoy anything overall that makes them look less spectacular. He thought back, a bit uncharitably. Not all of Benden was bad, he'd met a few halfway decent ones, but then there were others like the rider who'd killed a Crimson with a clutch... and he wasn't certain that mindsets like that one weren't the prevalent one. They'd been quick enough to jump on evidence that, at least from where he was sitting, sounded as glaring as a hundred glows. Too obvious almost for such stealth. Malvren... Malvren had nothing to gain from the death, and he wasn't sure who did... but none of that changed the decision to politely withdraw from their fellow weyr, even if he didn't agree with the policy personally.

"I'd like to know though, who did benefit from all this..." He added, quietly, as he patted his partners shoulder, eying the gathered crowd as though he hoped pick out some sign of guilt written on one of the faces there.

B'nas and Brown Milnth - Benden

B'nas was silently seething, he didn't know why he'd come but others had been and to be honest, B'nas hated to be left out of the loop. He had no particular interest in associating himself with anyone that wasn't from Benden, that didn't stop them coming over to him though because, despite his distaste, his face was a mask of politeness. His manners came before anything, even before his own feelings most of the time, especially in public. Less so since the death of Kestril but enough for him to still appear approachable.

"Mine, there are many women here, many pretty greens... OH!... the white Look Mine!! we should go and say hello to her" commented the Brown, knowing that the only atypical dragon B'nas didn't immediately dislike was the white, his had been curious that it had been hatched at one of the new weyrs, he hated the fact that it wasn't Benden but he had to admit, whites needed help breaking shell just like other colors and none broke the shells of unhatched eggs on Benden sands, well ... there was that crimson once but it seemed that Hers had felt the bond even before it happened and had understood there was a dragon inside. He wondered if he would have done the same had it been his Milnth that had needed help.

B'nas shrugged, he wanted to go and introduce himself to the white and her ..wait Her? .. rider but he was torn. That was a Malvren dragon and Benden AND Malvren, despite what had happened to Trine's weyrwoman, were still at loggerheads.

Milnth's attention was drawn to a striking crimson and he could hardly wait for B'nas to dismount and go over and introduce himself, if ever there was a Casanova dragon, it was Milnth, he only got to charm Greens, since while he chased Golds when they Rose, he didn't get to socialise with them, so for Milnth, the chance to meet a rather lovely Crimson, was too tempting to pass up and the second his rider was down, he went over to her. Sidling up to Luvith he gave a draconic grin "Hello! I am Milnth, it is good to see others here is it not?" said the Brown, flirtingly. She wasn't ready to Rise but it didn't hurt to be charming, even if he might forget her except for vague and distant memories of her flashy wings.

N'var and Blue Novath // Kytara [Trine]

N'var looked around himself in interest and mild amazement. He had never seen so many dragons and riders in one spot. Despite the reason for why they had gathered like this, he was still impressed. What is so impressive? They are all beneath you and I N'varmine. Especially the filth from Benden. He tossed an irritated look over at the blue. Hush. Don't say things like that. Do you want to make things worse?" It is the truth. I do not see the point of lying about it. He sighed and shook his head. Instead of continuing the argument he glanced behind himself to make sure he hadn't lost the other member of their group. "Kytara?" From the other side of Novath he could see a mess of blonde hair. "I'm here."

N'var moved around to wrap his arm around his sisters shoulder and smiled comfortingly. As usual in social situations she was starting to squirm and try to withdraw into her shell. From the time they were children she had been a very introverted girl, but it was starting to get absurd as far as he was concerned. "Come on, let's go find some people and mingle. No time like the present to try and make friends right?"

She looked up and shot him a dirty look. "Fine. But please don't make me do it alone." Clinging to him she let him lead her into the large group of onlookers and people curious to see the results of the gathering firsthand. Despite her social awkwardness even she had to be impressed at the size of the group that had gathered. As she pondered the deeper workings of such a series of events, N'var looked around for a friendly face. Recognizing Cetalese he slowly made his way over with Kytara in tow. "Hullo Cetalese."

((F'itz and Brown Brumath of Benden))

If there was one thing he liked about the south it was the warmth. If there was one thing he disliked it was the humidity. F'itz was unfastening his riding jacket before they even touched the ground, studying the assembled riders and dragon through Brumath's eyes at the same time. he sent to his lifemate, The weather and the strangely coloured dragons reminded him sharply of Trine, and the red dragon that had died there. he mused,

Brumath said with a mental shrug as they touched down. he went on,

Unfastening himself from the straps and then climbing to the ground, F'tiz smiled faintly. he said, patting his bondmate's leg fondly,

"Really, just look at all these dragons!" Adi agreed as to the gathering being 'quite a crowd.' "I think I even saw a wher a minute ago." The smaller cousins of dragons were fascinating, although she'd never have been a handler herself. The whers just weren't usually as...nice as she would have liked.

"Hey Wykla!" The girl said with a smile, glad to see her fellow bluerider. It was too bad R'ne and Gemgareth weren't about, or they could have had the 'trio' together.

Mine is well enough, Mazamath answered Kameth, Worried and sad about what has happened, but she herself is well. Yours?

Looking up at the young green who invited them to fly, the large blue considered the possibility. It could be fun, but at the same time, he did not trust that everything would remain well here on the ground. If something happened, he wanted to be near to take care of Adi and her sometimes-fragile feelings if someone decided to hurt them. Thank you for asking, but I will stay with Mine. Perhaps another time.

"N'var, hello," Cetalese greeted, distracted from staring at her dragon by N'var's voice. She saw the quiet girl next to him and smiled faintly at her. "Hello, Kytara." There was a brief pause, then Cetalese looked over at Optheli. Ah. "I'm sure you both remember Optheli and S'kor. And this is D'lin of Bronze Plexith." With introductions done with, she glanced between her yearmate and his sister. "Did you just arrive?"

Out from under Cetalese's chastising gaze, Halith bugled to the dragons below her again, bored of waiting for an answer. They were losing valuable daylight! As she did so, she saw a dragon appear some distance away, and turned her head to watch him descend. She didn't know him, and he had come alone. What weyr was he from? It didn't matter. He was alone, so it wasn't as if anyone could be mad at her for talking to him.

Mazamath's reply earned a disheartened little sound. All right. Well, maybe you two want to come, she added, still not having received a reply from the White or the other Blue.

Or maybe, instead of waiting, she could convince the old Brown that had just showed up to go with her. With backup, especially old back-up, she could come back and convince the others to come, too. Halith turned and aimed in his direction with a few ungainly but deep strokes of her wings. She soared over him and looped back with a welcoming bugle.

Do you want to come, old dragon? She offered, performing figure eights over him now. She dropped her head slightly as she flew, to peer at him. The humans are still being boring and with you I'm sure I can convince the others to go, too. We should get out and see something. I'm Halith. You can come, even if you're from Malvren or Benden or one of those other weyrs we hardly ever hear about. It's okay.

Brumath said, looking down on the green with steady blue eyes. He had not expected to be addressed to abruptly upon landing, but he was not about to complain when possible leads walked straight to him and began to speak.

Very much privy to the young dragon's words, F'itz raised his eyebrows and cast around for a rider; this little one must be from Trine's most recent clutch by her words and age, so Hers would be fairly young too, and lacking a full wingrider's colours. Of course, not everybody here was wearing their colours - typical - but at least some were proper enough to display their Weyr and rank on their shoulders; even in the southern heat F'itz jacket remained on for now, though of course he had unfastened it in a small nod to comfort.

"Go to see?" You talk funny. Are other Benden dragons so strange? No wonder the weyrs are all mad at you if you talk so they can't understand you. How are they supposed to make peace when you can't say what you mean directly?

The words were like a jolt through Cetalese. Halith! Cetalese exclaimed, her eyes widening very slightly as she looked about frantically for her lifepartner. That was not appropriate! Who was she talking to?

What, Cetalesemine? I didn't say anything that wasn't true. Halith wheeled down towards a spire next to Brumath, so she could perch while they talked.

That is not appropriate. Cetalese was amazed she wasn't flushed to the roots of her hair, and she was just in time to see her Green land next to a large, obviously older unfamiliar Brown. Their talking has nothing to do with the tension between the weyrs. You can't speak that way to dragons from Benden.

Why does that matter? Brumath, you do talk funny. I don't know why Cetalesemine is upset. It's not like I can't understand you. Anyway, we're going to explore the forests. The humans and dragons here are too tense. I haven't been to Southern before and I don't want to leave without seeing everything.

Halith! What did I tell you when we got here?

"Please, excuse me. I'll be right back." Cetalese said and abruptly abandoned her group of Trine riders-- finally large enough to be protective in nature-- to hare off on her own again, striding with long but graceful steps across the weyrbowl in an attempt to reach Halith before she said anything else impolite and really dug Trine into a hole. Her usual calm was ruffled, her eyes still wide and worry etched faintly into her face. Hopefully, the noticeable Weyrling status of her knots would dissuade anyone from trying to cause trouble with her. Halith obviously didn't understand what was going on.

N'var and Blue Novath // Kytara [Trine]

Kytara flashed a shy smile and nodded to each person in turn. Seeing Optheli seemed to loosen her up a bit as she moved away from N'var's side. N'var however beamed at each person in turn and greeted them with a warm, but generalized group greeting. "Hullo. Nice to see I wasn't the only one curious to see what comes of all this. We just arrived a moment ago. And I have to admit a part of me still has that candidate-style curiosity. I've never seen Southern for myself, and I couldn't miss the opportunity to explore." "We both did." N'var turned and grinned at his sister. "What about you all?" They both watched in interest as Cetalese abruptly charged off in search of Halith.

[Ack.....crummy writers block....]

the brown replied mildly,

F’itz raised an eyebrow once more with military precision as the conversation progressed; his expression was hard to read, but certainly wasn’t overtly angry or hostile. “I suppose you must be the rider of Green Halith, hailing from Trine?” he said as the young woman drew near. “I am F’itz of Brown Brumath, hailing from Benden.” Their respective shoulder knots said as much for their Weyr and dragon colour, but F’itz was a man who preferred to do things properly even if it did mean his statements were a bit redundant on occasion.
