"Jada !" Ashley had no idea that Jada would be coming - and even less so than she and Kess knew each other. The kiss was certainly well received - only added to her make-up, in a way, but what her friend said next had Ashley puzzed.

Dating ?

Dating who ?

Blink.

Blink.

...OHHHHHHHH.

"We're not-" Of course, by the time she'd connect dot A to dot B, Jada was gone. "Augh." 'Jill' made a face. "Jaaaddaaaaa~~"

And so 'Jill' dragged her 'Jack' toward the table, not without giving Venice a salute. "Thanks ! It was Kess' idea."

Once she had gotten her attention, Castille ran over, saying "Thanks! My sister might kill me for ruining this dress." She laughed and continued on to say "Your costume is cool too!"

After the ranting of the apparent apartment owner, everyone seemed to lost their tension and worry that they were going to get kicked out. The apartment owner actually returned dressed up not too much later, so Castille figured they were here for a while.

"Contest brains?" She said,s taring at the table. What were they made of? "Is it, like a jello mold?"

"Ah what the hell, sure! Lets grab a spot!" She made her way to the table, spreading out her dress to save Aitana a spot.

Late, they were late. He knew that and honestly didn't care, something he'd let Lily know as they'd made there way up to the party. Alexandre was not all that fond of the whole dead cat look he was sort of pulling off, he only had ears and a tail. The rest of his clothing consisting of a ripped up black turtle neck and pants with shoes of black leather. The pants too were subjected to a good ripping, to make it look like he'd been attacked, really it looked like some girl had just gone nuts with a pair of scissors if you asked him. The face paints and fake blood staining his clothing to give him the 'I've just been turned into a zombie' look wasn't as flattering as he'd have liked it to be, but dead things weren't supposed to look good were they?

Alexandre still wasn't quite sure how he'd lost to Lily, she'd seen his costume for Halloween as he'd been unpacking it and putting it into his closet. Somehow that had brought up the party she'd seen a notice about, he couldn't quite remember where as Lily had taken to talking about a costume idea for him. From there it was a trip to the costume store where ears, like his other ones only cheaper quality, and make up was bought.

The dressing had happened in a rather forced manner which ended in Lily bribing him to get dressed and let her apply the make up and rip up some of his clothing so it fit the parties theme. She really knew how to get him to do whatever she wanted, she was evil. But he still adored his best friend and let her drive them over to the indicated address and walked up the stairs to the apartment with her.

Being underage he hadn't brought any special drinks or anything, he simply came as he was, with the red head at his side. Slate eyes glancing about what looked like Halloween on steroids or some explosion of Halloween decorations. It was....definitely some sort of obviously love for the holiday being displayed here. "Insanity." The word escaped his lips even as he stepped into the party. "But good costumes." He said, tossing the comment over his shoulder to Lily. "I think...I'm going to poke around." And by that he meant he was going to wander around and look over costumes, as he was curious what every zombie here looked like.

He watched Quinn and Lydia, smiling at them. He was glad she took care of her friend, and seemed to genuinely care about her health. He waited patiently until Lydia turned to him again.

Something in his stomach fluttered when her hands touched his arms. He wasn't sure he had eaten any butterflies or moving creatures, so he attributed the flutter to the obvious choice. Her getting closer to him. His expression was easy to read, as always, his face a little read and his eyes fixed on her nervously. He was embarrassed, awkward, but he never let such things hamper him.

"Whenever you'd like!"

A typical answer from him, as he was not the most decisive person when asked what he wanted to do. Because to him, it was always about what the other person wanted, so unless it was blatantly clear that it would be his choice or none at all, he almost always deferred.

This close it was impossible not to notice the wash of red along his cheeks or the way it made the scar stand out all the more beneath the patch he'd strung over his eye. She chuckled, very softly, and gave his arms a little squeeze. Even in all the chaotic situations they'd been in together up in space she'd never really seen him that obviously nervous, it was kind of cute.

"Do you want to do it now?" Perhaps she should have specified what she was talking about, but the more devious side of her wanted to see if she could make that blush a little brighter first.

Her chin tipped gently to one side as she waited for his answer, and a wild curl of strawberry blonde slide along her cheek. She'd been friendly before now, clingy even, but their relationship had been that of good friends. But that color on his face, the way those pretty eyes fixated her when she leaned against him, not to mention her own curious feelings budding interest. Was there a little something more between them then either expected to find? It was likely to early to tell, but signs were beginning to seem likely.

It seemed as though the one that had been yelling was the owner of the apartment, and the Host's cousin. Lydia had learned that much from the raised voices and excited chatter. Apparently the one, Venice? Hadn't been aware of other other, Bea's, plans. Well wasn't that a recipe for potential disaster?

Grant was not particularly susceptible to innuendo, so his mind lingered on the fact that he knew she was talking about the zombie thing.

So he said, with honest intention and a healthy dose of optimism, maybe a little too loud, "we can do it anywhere you like, any time!"

He smiled at her brightly and his blush remained. It was her being close, and now his hand finding its ways to her in the ultimate show of daring that he could think of. Of course, she clung on to him all the time. Even their 'first' meeting, as far as he knew, she had held on to him and been close. Something about tonight, though, maybe the word 'date', as simple as it was, had changed how he processed each touch, and each inch of space between them.

He smiled at her, a trusting doctor with his zombie nurse, willingly following her into a new life. Well. Walking death.

Quinn frowned briefly when Lydia snatched the bottle of Vodka from her hand. The frown quickly turned into an appreciative smile when the girl asked her not to make her worry. She nodded slowly and murmured a quiet "Alright, I promise." If there was one thing Quinn was good for, it was her word. Especially to her closest friend who had taken amazing care of her over the last little while and the last thing she wanted to do was make Lydia worry. She grinned at the kiss on the cheek and turned to Grant. "It's nice to meet you," she said before spotting Alexandre walk in. "I'll see you guys around, kay?"

Completely forgetting about the fact that Lydia snatched her drink, Quinn pushed her way through to crowd to Alexandre. "Heyyyy!" she called over the loud music. "Zombie cat, nice!"

Lily caught her eye for a brief moment, someone that she once knew when she was Kathryn. She had briefly noticed Jada and Aitana as well which made her heart sink slightly. Even though she had made new, amazing friends as Quinn, every once in a while she felt a pang of sadness when she saw people that were once a part of her life.

Shaking her head of sad thoughts, she turned her attention back to Alex. "Did you just get here?"

She should have known her innuendo would be lost on Grant, but frankly she was still getting used to his habit of taking absolutely everything at face value. She'd been aware of it since their first meeting, but it was still surprising every now and then.

It was her turn to blush when he delivered his answer, and despite the makeup, pale cheeks lite up brightly as he announced with much excitement his willingness to do it anywhere, anytime. She knew exactly what he meant, but she'd also been privy to the whole of their conversation. The rest of the room had not, she could only imagine where their minds might be headed, and that is what painted the wash of color along her face. Not to mention the hand that was now resting softly on her waist.

She was still smiling though as she looked up at him, a peculiar sort of expression on her face, contemplative and excited. "Excellent."

"Show time," she murmured up at him with a wink, and then rather suddenly dropped into the role of the recently undead. Her grip on his arms shifted, and one pale hand moved up to grab at his shoulders pulling him down to so she could feign a rather vicious bite at his neck, when the reality was her lips merely brushing the skin, a smear of bright lipstick left in their wake. Her other hand found his belt, and she slide her fingers along the top of it until she found the pouch with all the makeup and other effects he'd rounded up to make himself suitably gruesome.

There were blood packets, and she grinned as she grabbed a handful and brought them up with her hand as she lopped both arms around his shoulders and buried her face tighter around his neck. She was doing her best imitation of a hungry corpse, growling and snarling impressively, but she paused enough to whisper against the base of his ear that he should fall to his knees.

" Girl, you bein' a flatterer again!" Marie told Kess, though she certainly didn't seem to mind. Really, who didn't like being complimented?

" Ashley, is it? Nice to meet ya' sugar! I'm sure I'll get along just fine wit' any friend of Kess!"

At Venice's instruction, Marie wove her way through the crowd towards the snack table, using her large girth the clear a path for herself and culinary contribution.

" 'scuse me, 'scuse me, Big Mama comin' through."

Grant was not exactly classically trained as far as his acting skills went, and he could not wipe the grin off his face or cover the laugh in his voice as he cried out for help. He pretended to struggle with her biting him, trying to push her away without actually trying to do any such thing, his feeble, over exaggerated efforts completely for naught.

His fate was sealed.

At her whispered command he dropped to his knees almost immediately, which was a little jarring but no one could control themselves when they were being bitten by a formerly living person and being turned into a zombie themselves, could they? Standing was probably the last of his concerns, he justified: he just wanted to get her away from him.

Using his flailing as cover, not very good cover but cover nonetheless, he blinded added some pale makeup to his face, and some blood to his mouth. Zombies were usually drooling blood, though sometimes he didn't understand why, especially when they hadn't just bitten someone.

"Arrgghhh!" he said, losing his battle against her.

"I'll give you some incentive," The blonde's bright, reckless grin certainly made her seem single, though she didn't offer up the spluttering protest that Ashley did. Instead, her dark eyes found themselves on one of their hosts, the [if her original attire had been correct] roller derby girl, and she felt a spark of interest. Sure, she didn't play herself, but she was mean on a pair of skates [so was Ashley! Maybe they should stop by there sometime and try out....], and she could appreciate a group of awesome chicks.

"You aren't bad yourself." Kess raised a brow at Venice, "Hard not to love a sailor girl."

Before she could begin to properly flirt, Ashley had her by the shirt, and was yanking her over to the table, where they sat, and blinked at a pile of 'brains'.

Stealthily the girl maneuvered the packets of fake blood against his neck, and with a skilled little bite she tore the corners off the lot of them. Then she waited until her date had dropped to his knees and let out a particularly convincing cry of pain before crushing the multiple packets in her first and sending the fake(and water soluble!) blood flying in what would hopefully look like an arterial spray. She ended up covered in the majority, which was just fine really, but a good portion had also spilled to stain along the left side of his chest.

Despite the somewhat questionable acting, hopefully they little act would be entertaining enough to anyone that happened to be watching. She had to admit, the fake blood was a very nice touch.

On his knees, Lydia could very easily nudging him down onto his back so she could crouch over him, pretending to gnaw at him still as she too aided in adding the make up that'd make him one of the living impaired. It was clumsily done, and they'd have to touch it up after all was said and down, but it would do for now.

With a final stiffled giggle the girl murmured for him to play dead a moment or two, then straightened as if coming up for air. Her mouth, chin and throat were absolutely drenched in fake blood, and even knowing it was all in act she probably looked a little on the gory side. The lingering swipe of her tongue over stained lips only added to the effect. Her movements were jerky and unnatural as she got back to her feet, hobbling convincingly as she took a small step back from her victim's 'corpse'.

Grant died triumphantly in a water friendly mess of blood. Laying on the floor and doing his damned best not to smile as Lydia moved from him. His eyes fluttered, though, and he groaned as he sat up after a moment.

He looked at his fellow zombie and then rose stiffly, dragging himself to his feet and wondering just how zombies managed to do it. Really, when thought about, the whole zombie concept was difficult to understand. At least for a guy like him, who liked things simple. Plus, zombies weren't usually happy.

Except tonight. The party made them fun, and he was very glad for that.

He looked at his nurse, a doctor no longer able to fight the good fight, and grinned at her. He had fake blood all over himself, and he laughed, moving to Lydia's side with some zombie steps.

"Braaaains?"

But no other zombies would have the brains he was supposed to want. He pouted a bit: an expression that would never seriously make it to his face, and if he had ears they might have drooped at that point. Sad puppy zombie.

Looking around, he saw someone he didn't know, Alexandre, arrive, and Quinn had gone over to say hello to him. He hoped she was okay, worried from how Lydia had been taking care of her for those few moments before, but he was sure that a party was the last place anything bad could happen.

He also noticed the snack table, and Marie near it, his stomach grumbling thoughtfully.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 01, 2011 1:46 pm

Lydia was doing all in her power to keep from smiling, and wasn't doing a terribly good job at it. She finally gave up all together when Grant shambled up to his feet and turned to her with that familiar grin, asking about brains. She lost it, and a ridiculously large grin split along blood stained lips as she started laughing.

It wasn't just the grin, but the situation, the little act they'd just put on, all of it. They were at a party, they were having a great time so far, and Lydia found herself in a much better mood then she'd been in since before the pair of them had been abducted into space. Grant was to thank for it. For agreeing to come, and just now for letting her join in that hilarious little show. She didn't even care if anyone else had seen or cared, she'd had a blast, and that's what really counted.

He returned to her side and she turned so she could curl both arms around his one. "That was fun." Raising on tip-toe she lay a kiss on his cheek, then chuckled as she noticed the smear of her lipstick along his throat, another subtle blush gracing her cheeks.

"Are you hungry? We could grab some snacks. Then maybe fix your make up a little bit." She let him go with one hand so she could reach up and smooth her thumb along a small glob of darker facepaint, smearing it under his eye to look a little more cadaverous. Even with the complete lack of mirror he'd done a decent job, but there were a places he'd missed, and she was betting she could make him look really spooky with all the stuff he'd brought.

Surprise went through Alexandre as his slate eyes went to Quinn as she approached him. "Quinn." A smile to go with the simple one word greeting. "I - Yeah. Lily got the idea when she saw me unpacking my vampire cat outfit for tomorrow night. Apparently she saw the notice for this party and seeing my costume got her thinking on what I should go as." He offered with a motion behind him to his red headed friend, a bright smile flashed to Lily.

"Yeah...ummm just got here, it took a while to get ready." That was while the truth it left out just how getting ready took time, though the face paint could easily be the reason for the lateness.

"I haven't had a look around yet, perhaps you'd show me the food and such...though I'm not quite sure if I want to actually see them." He spoke as he glanced about the room once before offering an arm to Quinn, with a charming smile in place. "All me to at least appear to be escorting you around?" He questioned before glancing to Lily, feeling bad for leaving her behind. "You don't mind, just going to spend a bit of time with a friend." Since he was living with Lily now.
